(CNS News) Climate change alarmists have turned to recruiting sports leagues to promote eco-hysteria. Democrats in Congress are calling on the major sports leagues to promote climate change regulation and to answer what they are doing to limit greenhouse gases.
Democratic legislators from the Bicameral Task Force on Climate Change announced on Nov. 20 that they will host major sports league officials in “a closed-door discussion,” Nov. 21. Representatives from Major League Baseball, the NFL, NBA/WNBA, NHL and Olympics are expected to attend.
That will be followed by press availability. Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) and Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) are expected to “discuss the effects of climate change on sporting activities and the work these organizations are doing to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions,” according to the task force website.
Remember that post about liberals taking over sports broadcasting? Now they’re trying to take over sports themselves. Any who get involved are simply hypocrites, considering the amount of power and fossil fuels used to be able to hold games. Why can’t we just leave the politics out of sports? If that’s the case, why have these congress critters not significantly changed their own lives to become “carbon neutral”?
Sports and Entertainment had better be very careful how they approach AGW and carbon footprint. The could easily be identified as big users of fossil fuels but without a high priority for human survival. Food production, health, safety, civil engineering, scientific research would all have higher survival priority than sports and entertainment. If the seas really do begin to rise and the world warm up sports and big entertainment may have to be rationed or shut down.
Well, no duh on what parties these doofus’ belong to.

Your argument that the personal behaviors of some that understand the basis of global warming refutes the theory of AGW fails on at least two counts. One, you have no real knowledge of the behavior of those you call hypocrites. Two, their behavior is not scientific evidence.
By all means, call them hypocrites – some may be. But even if they are, it does not change the fact that the Earth continues to warm because we humans are adding CO2 to the atmosphere.

The second attempt tries to deflect what is not said by Teach. The hypocritical actions don’t verify or disprove AGW, but they do show the lack of committment to the ideas these people say they believe in.

No, that’s not the argument. The primary argument that we, especially Teach, make is that these people are huge hypocrites and do not practice what they DEMAND everyone else do.
The secondary argument IS that those who profess a belief in CAGW and a knowledge and belief in its future repercussions, do not live like they believe it. If Al Gore truly believes that the seas will flood coastal lands, then why did he buy a mansion on the coastline? If he demands that others cut their lax lifestyle, their carbon usage, their CO2 output, then why does he expand his?
Neither are they or your cult beliefs.
And your cult-like belief that CO2 is the reason why our world is warm is near psychotic-break in nature. You really need to seek mental help and don’t leave your basement without professional guidance. Seriously. You are messed up.

Climate realists are not advocating that we stop burning fossil fuels, just that we start reducing their use.
This can take the form of insulation, efficiency, mileage standards, solar, wind, nuclear sources, etc. As you well know, this can be accomplished by fiat; this can be accomplished by markets. Up until 2008 the Republic party recognized the reality of global warming and advocated a market-based carbon cap-and-trade system. Since the rise of the radical teabag movement, Republic party has become an official science denier.
All the heavy lifting on global warming will have to be accomplished by progressives and moderates. The far-right prefers to fight for ignorance and their donors.
You and your ilk deny the basics of physics and chemistry and I’m the one that needs mental help? It’s been understood for a century that CO2 absorbs electromagnetic wavelengths emitted by the Earth. As you increase CO2, you increase absorption, thus warming. Since the Earth is retaining more and more heat energy from our Sun, what is the physical mechanism that would keep the Earth FROM warming?? Magic or intervention by gods do not count as physical mechanisms.
Your denier zombie arguments that it’s the Sun, water vapor, “natural variation”, cosmic rays, the past, volcanoes, heat island effect, lying scientists, magical cycles not based on any recognized physics, Al Gore etc have all been repeatedly refuted, yet refuse to die.

Let me ask you this. Maybe this will help explain it to you. You are a CO2 molecule. You need to travel 1000 kms down a road. Yet, you can only go 3m. You could go more, but the further you go the more friends you bring with you. Yet, that road is only so wide. The more friends you bring, the slower your progress becomes and it becomes much much more tougher with each step.
Now, here comes someone with a smokestack. He lets you borrow some of his energy. yet, you’ve nearly used up all of your maximum allowed usage. And you’ve nearly maxed out the maximum number of friends you can bring with you. Yet, with that additional energy you can go another few centimeters.
Now, the “belief” that you are arguing for is that this additional few centimeters will do MUCH MORE damage to that road, than the previous 3m.
This is why we know that your cult is hogwash and full of “hot air”.
