Trackback Friday Featuring The Surrender Monkey: Baghdad Jim Resurfaces

Happy Friday to all! It's that time of the week again! Do you have an interesting post you want to share with everyone? The official Surrender Monkey of the Democratic Party says to do what the Lefties don’t, since they all have the same talking points: link it!

We have a special guest today, the McDermott Monkey (seriously), and he continues his American must lose screeds at the Hufftard Post

What might Iran have in common with Laos and Cambodia? It's time to ask the question.

On an almost daily basis, the President demonizes Iran. While the Iraq Study Group advocated diplomacy with Iran (and Syria) to help end the Iraq war, the President is saber rattling, and his threats are becoming increasingly worrisome.

Maybe all the tough talk is intended as a diversion, a way to distract the American people from the escalation of bloodshed in Iraq, or maybe it is something else.

Want to buy a picture of a UFO and some Visitors, Jim?

In less than one generation we have done what we vowed never to do again: we allowed a President to stampede the nation into a hopeless war.

There's that good ole American "can do!" attitude.

Parallels between Iraq and Vietnam, yada yada yada, no mention that Urp! we were winning, and that Democrats started it.

Military action is not the answer in the Mideast. We need to dispatch an army of diplomats–armed not with bullets but with ideas, resolve, and a book of American history in every briefcase.

Perhaps Baghdad Jim could expand on that. How exactly are diplomats with American history books in their briefcases to stop the Muslim terrorism and expension by swordpoint? I'd seriously like to know. As Robert Heinlein, who was a Naval Academy graduate, BTW, wrote in Starship Troopers:

"My Mother says that violence never settles anything."

"So? I'm sure that the city fathers of Carthage would be glad to know that. Why doesn't your mother tell them so? Or why don't you?"

Does Jim think that Iran will actually listen to diplomats? Saddam sure didn't. Hitler didn't. Pol Pot didn't. Lybia didn't. Syria isn't. Did Clinton use diplomacy when he invaded Somalia and sent our troops in to the Balkans? How about when 850K+ Rwandan's were slaughtered in 1994? The UN and President Clinton sure weren't able to effect a political solution. And, does a political solution include giving nuclear reactors capable of producing weapons grade nuclear materials, ala North Korea and the Albright/Clinton/Carter plan?

Of course, Jim McDermott is the same person who went to Iraq prior to the war, taking the word of Saddam Hussein, and violent mass murderer, who had previously used WMD multiple times, over the word of Bush, Kerry, Kennedy, both Clinton's, Albright, European leaders, UN inspectors, and most intelligence agencies around the world.

So, Jim, how about enlightening us on your plan for diplomacy in the Middle East. I have to ask that here, since my comment at the HuffPost has been deleted twice.
