Canadian Town Cancels Trick or Treating Cause “Climate Change”

See, polar bears are wandering into town, so they’re worried about the little snowflakes (wisely), and this can only be caused by Hotcoldwetdry

(Slate) The children of one small town in northern Canada are on the front lines of climate change. In Arviat (map), a hamlet of 2,300 people in the Canadian territory of Nunavut, that means no outdoor trick-or-treating this year for the first time.

Instead of going door to door, kids in Arviat will instead spend their holiday inside the town’s community hall, which will feature a haunted house, face painting, and plenty of candy.

Over the last several years, shore ice has diminished along the western edge of Hudson Bay, forcing the annual polar bear migration closer and closer to town. Bears prefer to be as far out on the ice as possible, to get closer to seals and fish. Less ice means there’s nowhere for the bears to go but straight through town, in many cases. Hudson Bay has warmed by about 3 degrees Celsius—more than three times the global rate—since the 1990s.

It’s so obvious: it can only be man-caused “climate change”, and it’s probably your fault for your Halloween consumerism!

I found the CBC article and it did not mention Ice as the problem. Rather it is the annual fall polar bear migration that is the problem. The Wiki article on Arviat has the monthly weather pattern chart which shows that October is the month that average temps hover around freezing which means that the sea ice is just beginning to freeze up. So there is little or no shore ice for the bears to hunt on.
Warming and sea ice has nothing to do with the town’s decision to hold Holloween indoors. It is a safety issue not a warming issue. They are not cancelling Halloween, just making it an indoor event; which will actually be better for community togetherness. Not every decision or change is Climate change caused. Sheesh

Except for the polar bears eating your kids.

Global warming means warmer weather in the fall. Yay!!!

Global warming means polar bears eating more people. Boo!!!

Right Jeffrey. I forgot that Polar Bears have made a big comeback and there are more of them now. And, of course the parents wouldn’t think to find out if there were any polar bears seen in the area where their kids are going to be trick or treating, they are too dumb to do that. At least you think so anyway.

Grammar police attack!!! Sorry, but if you use “cause” as a shortening of “because”, you must put an apostrophe before it. Why? Just ’cause.
