Afternoon Rush

Amusing story. See if you can figure it out.

I was at the Walgreen’s getting some batteries for my watches. The total for the purchase was $21.12. The cashier made a brief comment about that being an awesome number.

It took a moment for me to respond, even though I immediately understood her reference. When I did, she said she was wondering if I would get it, and I told her it was taking my brain a second because I was having PIN confusion.

She then proceeded to make a joke about Hemispheres working together. Took a second to get that one, walked back, gave her a thumbs up.

Anyone get the references, or am I just old rock?

If you guessed “Rush”,

One of my favorite Rush songs. Especially live.

    Teach,
You actually listened to the checker at Walgreens? When I am going through the process, all I can do is think about how fast to get out of the store. This is one reason I shop on line so that I don’t have to put up with the checker. Typically, I am thinking about trying to be polite and kind in telling the corporate representative what to do with their request for additional money for their charity of the month. I still don’t get that concept. As to the numbers, I have never heard of a thing. Probably John would understand.

    It’s a rock
    And roll thing
Date younger girls they will explain it

  3. Heh! John and I agree on something :)
