I wasn’t even going to bother mentioning Mike Vick and his dog fighting problems. The guy is scum. He had a chance to be something special in the NFL, and use that posterity to advance causes, to do something positive with his life. Instead, despite being called one of the best players in football (which makes me want to gag everytime I hear it, as he has done zip), he has gone down the road of a hoodlum and scumbag, like so many football and basketball players over the last 10 years. Seriously, the guy has done nothing in the NFL. Great, he can run, juke, and jive. He doesn’t lead his team, he always seems to be getting hurt, and he is a lousy QB. He doesn’t take the time to find his recievers and skill players, usually choosing to run around and "make something happen." Let me know when he leads his team to a championship, and starts playing like a QB, rather then a RB in the pocket.
Look at McNabb. As a Giants fan, I hate to give him props, but, he has learned to be a QB first, and only run when necessary. He really has turned into the kind of QB the media touted him as, much like Steve McNair and Steve Young. Vick has made no progress, and, facing a nice jail stay, most likely won’t.
Anyhow, rant over. Let’s move on to the DUmmy rants
- Bornaginhooligan The charges agains Michael Vick should be dropped. Look, I hate Michael Vick as much as anybody else on this board. But we need to stop all this foolish talk of charging him with a crime. First off, there really isn’t any reason to suggest that a crime was committed here at all. Furthermore, what the indictbots fail to understand is, in order to get a conviction you need to have all nine out of nine jurors vote for a conviction. We’ll never get a conviction because Georgia is a state with Republicans in it. Just think about it. If Michael Vick gets acquitted, and we all know he will, then it’s just going to make us pet owners look bad, and he’s going to be a hero, just like those Duke boys. Frankly, it’s not fair to sequester those jurors. I’m sure those jurors have a lot more important things to do with their lives than hold a trial for Michael Vick. Personally, I think we should focus on the positive. Let’s bring homes to those dogs. (see? It’s conservatives fault. Go figure.)
- Nice to hear a voice of sanity!!!1111 The indictbots are such extremists, I’m concerned their making us look bad.. (got that? It is bad to indict someone who breeds dogs to fight, then lets them, and all the other disguting things that Vick is accused of)
- The indictment should be off the table. No need for investigations either. nt (I thought liberals were compassionate, and cared for animals. I wonder how PETA feels?)
- Let’t quit letting the media distract us. I am about over this story. Yes it was a tragedy but it’s evolved into nothing more than a missing blonde story. (we need to hear more about 9/11 being an inside job)
Yikes. Simpy amazing, the mind of a moonbat. Fortunately, several other DU’ers stood up and said "WTF is wrong with you?" to Bornaginhooligan and the 3 other nutjobs.
And how does PETA feel? They have a front page story, asking people to take action, asking the NFL to suspend Vick. I have to say, I agree with them.
Gregg Doyal at CBS Sportsline puts it correctly
Michael Vick can’t play this season. You know that, right? He cannot play. Not for the Atlanta Falcons. Not for anybody, not anywhere, not at any time. Not until he is clear of the charges leveled against him by the federal government.
And if he’s not cleared of those charges? If he’s found guilty of sponsoring a macabre dogfighting ring? Then the NFL has seen the last of Michael Vick.
Don’t give me "due process." Look around you. Do you see a court of law? Do you see a judge, a jury, a lawyer, a bailiff? The NFL is not the U.S. judicial system, and for the sake of this argument, Michael Vick is not a defendant. He’s a football player who has been accused of something so serious, something so heinous, that the NFL cannot in good faith allow him to represent the most popular sports league in this country.
He provides lots of other interesting points, but here is a final one
But he has been charged, and not just anywhere. He has been charged in federal court, and for those who don’t know what that means, let me tell you: It means Vick is almost certainly guilty. According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, 99 percent of the people indicted by the federal government between 2000 and 2005 were convicted.
99%
He is 100% gangster scum and a classless represenative of the NFL – National Felony League! I asked our K-9 sergeant this morning if we could place Mr. Gangster Vick in our kennel for a few hours so he could feel what he and his nephew put man’s best friend through! Hid brother was the starting QB at Va Tech a few years back and threw it all away. What a family of thugs. Glad NIKE is pulling his sponsorship. That will hurt him in his wallet.
Don’t you understand? Not only is he an NFL Quarterback, he’s black. Therefore, he can do whatever he wants. The vast majority of people will absolutely give him a pass — simply because he’s an NFL QB. These sports entertainers are above us common people. I bet the NFL does nothing unless he is indeed indicted.
