As you surely know by now, dozens of hardcore leftist organizations participated in a march on Washington to push for all sorts of leftist ideas, like abortion, ‘climate change’, vaginas, pussy’s, flipping people off while grabbing their vaginas, wearing pussy hats telling us they’re empowered (hey, that’s what most of the photos I saw seemed to be pushing). The NY Times has a wonderful collage of photos which conveniently forget most of the the Crazy. Like

They were showing up all over. Along with lots of Moonbattery. And astroturfed signs. But, one of the themes seemed to be how empowered and powerful women are. That they can do anything men can do (produce sperm? How about a proper “hey, y’all, watch this”?). Here’s one of my favorites

I did have a question for Bernie Sanders
Congratulations to the women marching today. We must go forward to ensure full reproductive justice for all women. #WomensMarch

We should ask the same of Andrew Cuomo
(Fox News) New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Saturday that he was requiring health insurance companies to cover medically necessary abortions and most forms of contraception at no cost to women.
Cuomo’s announcement comes on the same day that over a million people around the world took to the streets to protest Donald Trump just hours into his presidency.
Cuomo took to Twitter to talk about his effort to “firmly secure access to reproductive health services in New York State.”
The state department of financial services is mandating that health insurers in New York provide for at least one form of FDA-approved contraception exceeding a month’s supply at a time. Women would also be provided medically necessary abortions without co-pays or deductibles.
How wonderful. If women are so strong and powerful and empowered and can do anything boys can do, why is it necessary to patronize them with free stuff? It’s almost like Cuomo thinks that women are not capable enough to be able to earn $9 a month for birth control.
That said, did you notice one interesting thing? “Medically necessary” abortions. In fact, only a tiny number, some say less than 1%, of abortions are medically necessary. Certainly, Cuomo knows this, and is simply patronizing abortion supporting women with this claptrap.
BTW, will the media give even a 10th of the coverage to next weeks March For Life as they did this march?
Crossed at Right Wing News.
Just another sign of trumpski’s lack of approval, and importantly of the degree of that disapproval.
turmpski is a mentally unstable manchild and has made irresponsible statements about women (and any other group that can be differentiated from caucausian christianists). Perhaps we’re all supposed to understand trumpski doesn’t mean what he says.
trumpski’s shrinking support base is mostly those who DID believe his words about women, Muslims and Mexicans.
I caught that “medically necessary” immediately. He threw the doggies a bone.
vlad trumpski went to the CIA, whined about the media, lied about his attacks on the CIA, patted himself on the back repeatedly, and suggested we should have illegally taken Iraq’s oil.
America deserves better than him. Can he change? Can a ladybug change her spots?
How many abortions are actually ‘medically necessary’? What does ‘medically necessary’ mean?
Before that repugnant Supreme Court ruling, 44 years ago today, there as a bit of loosening of abortion law, with medically necessary being a consideration. It didn’t take long before ‘medically necessary’ included not just physical threats to the life or health of the pregnant woman, but her mental health as well. Watch, because it won’t take long: under Governor Cuomo’s regime, women who would feel traumatized by having a baby will qualify.
Never understood why anti-abortion folk oppose wider availability of birth control, which reduces the number of undesired pregnancies, hence reducing the number of abortions. (NB – abortions drop under Dem Presidents. 2016 was the lowest absolute number and rate since the peak during the Reagan years.
According to a 2004 Guttmacher study, 12% of women who obtained abortions did so for “concern over their health”, another 1% after rape and less than 1% because of incest.
12% comes to about 120,000 a year (but dropping).
Abortion remains legal in the United States.
Um, you don’t understand it because you made it up. We do not object for wider availability (for the most part. Certainly, some deeply religious Catholics are not in favor of birth control, but most aren’t attempting to force their beliefs on everyone else).
What we do object to is having to pay for Other People’s contraception.
Do I demand that The Government, meaning the taxpayers, pay for my allergy pills? No. They are rather necessary for me. I even have some prescription grade ones, much more powerful than OTC, as my allergist prefers not using an Epipen for shellfish attacks. She feels the allergy is not life threatening. But, I’m not asking you to pay for either, am I, Jeff?
Pay for your own contraception if you want to engage in sexual activity.
[…] …..what they really desire is to enslave you to a lifetime of government dependence […]

Another bunch of WHINGING far-left hired operatives,
Get over it cis-genders.. Donald Trump IS your President, and your childish little totalitarian, anti-American displays are not going to change that.
All that these rants against the DULY ELECTED POTUS will do is to shore up his support from the rest of REAL AMERICA.
“Pay for your own contraception if you want to engage in sexual activity.”
Boys can’t make boys pregnant.
Massive antibiotics, is more likely Jeffle’s need.
–another quotable quote from little Andy Cuomo
Why object to covering contraception under gov’t (or other) healthcare/ insurance? Is that a religious objection?
Obviously it saves money in the long run since contraception is much cheaper than pregnancy or abortion.
Since it’s not a reasonable economic objection, what is it?
It does not save money because it forces everybody to pay for it in their premiums. Health insurance is to pay for costs so large they would cause financial hardship or even bankruptcy if they needed to be handled by one person. It is not to cover birth control pills, condoms, aspirin, vagasil, KY, lip balm, toenail clippers, band-aids, tooth paste etcetera.
And yes, some people do have religious beliefs contrary to paying for contraception, birth control and abortions and there is no reason why our great nation cannot accommodate those people. There is no moral or ethical reason why we as a nation must force people to disobey their moral, ethical and reasonable religious guidelines.
If a person wants to be covered for abortion they should pay for it. If they don’t want coverage they should not pay for it. What’s the big deal? Why do you insist those who don’t want that coverage must pay for it? If you don’t want a sunroof in your car are you forced to pay for one?
Hoagie,
That’s the way insurance works. Not everyone needs cancer therapy but everyone pays for the coverage. Premiums spread the risk.
Not everyone needs antihypertensives but everyone pays for the ocverage. Why are contraceptives different? Statins are covered but they’re not used to treat a disease but rather treat a biomarker, hyperlipidemia.
We need special treatment because Vagina.
That’s not the way insurance works if you are saying it’s used to cover minor claims. You forget I was a CLU and a CFP for five years and licensed in life, health, P & C and LTC insurance. Cancer is precisely what insurance is for, not a $500 abortion. But if you want it to cover a $500 abortion you should pay a premium for that and share the risk among others who see value in it not force those who don’t to pay for you. BTW, everybody does not pay for cancer therapy coverage, they pay for catastrophic coverage and cancer therapy like lung transplants and hip replacements are included. They may need one or more of these or hopefully none but they pay for them all.
Contraceptives are different for several reasons the first is they’re cheap. You don’t need insurance for a cup of Starbucks coffee. They’re different for the same reason milk of magnesia, Capzasin, Neosporin, and any other minor medicine is: they are too cheap to justify coverage. Why is that so hard for you? I use CoQ-10 which is $36 a bottle it’s not covered, my wife uses Atorvastatin which is. Finally, contraceptives are usually elective. One is usually not medically required to take contraceptives so why would they be covered?
That’s the problem with you guys on the left. A simple idea like health insurance which has been around for years becomes a big political power play.
It’s like the man said: the Democrats haven’t been this upset since we took away their slaves.
Generic atorvastatin is as cheap as birth control pills and is a preventative drug.
Why is it covered?
Not very intelligent are you, little jethro?

Democratic Underground?
Pffft…
Jeff,
What do statins prevent??? If you knew a thing, then you would know that statins only lower the incidence of CV disease by 3% per year. That is called a statistical error normally, but not for a government study that is interested in any propaganda that they can effect health care. Now, walking reduces the incidence of CV disease by 40%, but the government is not getting kick back from your company. Oh, the reduction in CV disease is entirely independent of the lowering of cholesterol, check the data on Zetia, likely one of your drugs. But, keep giving the parties and pushing the false research. That is until Trump figures out your scam.
My wife’s Atorvastatin is $114.19 per month. She pays $4 copay. I believe that is a drug for cholesterol control which is for her heart condition. You say it’s preventive but I think it’s a maintenance drug. It’s not elective. I assume it’s covered because it’s prescribed for her heart condition. The same reason my Ventolin, Synbicort and ipratropium-albuterol inhalers are covered for my lung disease.
But our One-A-Day Centrum, 81mg Bayer and Vicks cough syrup is not. Gee, everything isn’t nor should be covered. Just like your car insurance won’t cover oil changes, wiper blades or light bulbs.
At some point Jeffery, a person must take responsibility for his own health expenses. And car expenses. And food, clothing and shelter.

Hoagie,
You can get atorvastatin from Walmart and others online for $12-15 a month (20 mg tablet).
Doctor dave claims that atorvastatin doesn’t treat or prevent anything. Birth control pills work really well.
Why pay for a medicines that don’t work but exclude highly effective medicines?
Are you enrolled in Medicare?
dave,
You are full of shit as usual. My company neither developed nor marketed Zetia, nor any CV active drug. Merck markets Zetia.
We are strictly a clinical stage company in oncology.
We don’t throw parties or push false research, as you defamed us. You’ve admitted before that you’ve cheated on clinical trials – thanks for the warning.
Are you familiar with the new 21st Century Cures Act? What’s your opinion? Want to talk about that, brainiac?
I reckon Jeffles has been in way too many clinical (lol) drug trials.
Gotta test those hallucinogenics on yourself first, hey Jeffles.
WAYYYYY too many.
“You can get atorvastatin from Walmart”
“Generic atorvastatin is as cheap as birth control pills”
So, no need for either of them on the tax-payer funding.
And if you take them.. no need for taxpayer funded abortions.
“Not everyone needs cancer therapy “
Cancer is a disease, hypertension is a disease……. sex isn’t.
“push false research “
Yet you push a LIE about the election of Donald Trump as POTUS and his popularity.
How can anyone tell if you are LYING or not?
Having read some of your childish misinformation posts, the only conclusion I can come to is that…
if you are posting, you are LYING.
I hope you boss doesn’t see you LYING like you do in your posts…
. you will bring the company you do the lavatory cleaning for, into disrepute.

Well, my doctor evidently believes atorvastatin does treat or prevent something that’s why he prescribes it. Again, there is nothing to stop someone from buying birth control polls. Or condoms, or Vagasil or whatever else they want. And please don’t tell me you know more than my doctor and my meds “don’t work” but are covered by comparing them to an elective like birth control pills.
You are acting like pregnancy is a disease like COPD. Pregnancy is not a disease, it’s a choice as you guys constantly remind us so if you believe that then it’s your responsibility to provide either for or against getting pregnant.
hoagie,
Your doctor is following the guidelines defined by the AHA and ACC. Now, ask him what the NNP is for Lipitor. That is if he knows. Have him further identify the NNP for your and your wife’s specific circumstances. He will not know. If your wife is post MI, then the NNP will be about 1 in 20 or so. For any other clinical circumstance the NNP jumps to at minimum 1 in 50 or much higher. In other words, it is just about useless. Now, the side effects are hidden from view due to numerous studies stopping early. That is a technique that folks like Jeff use to get their drugs approved. Note, Jeff lies once again in saying that I ever under any circumstance lied or cheated regarding drug evaluation. This shows the character of Jeff. Also, the reference he made to Obama legislation just puts more of our money in this pocket.
david7134, you are way above my understanding of medical problems and the treatment thereof. My wife has a leaky heart valve and all she takes is that one pill and a 81mg aspirin. Plus she gets checked twice a year including some blood work. I OTOH, am listed for a bilateral lung transplant. I’ve been on the list 4 months and other than those inhalers and the one albuterol nebulizer 4 times daily I take no meds. Of course I’m on 6LPM of oxygen 24/7 and can’t travel far right now. I have to be within two hours of University of Pennsylvania Hospitals Lung Transplant center. Now last year I went through over 200k worth of tests to qualify for the program. They test for everything from dandruff to toenail fungus because they don’t want any other problems if they’re transplanting an organ. So other than completely ruined lungs I’m in great shape. Wow.
I have absolutely no other problems including heart, liver (kudos to Wild Turkey) kidneys, spleen, digestive, bowels, urine, BP, cholesterol, prostate or pecker. I get no rashes and have zero allergies. I’m on a strict diet of bacon, butter, eggs, kim-chee, Reese’s and pizza.
Matter of fact, I’m going down tomorrow to meet with my transplant surgeon for my bi-monthly check up. That will blow my Tuesday.
hoagie,
I realized that you might not know of the comparisons that I have made between the cholesterol issue and climate science (scam). You see, both are generated by a broken peer review system in their respective areas. As I mentioned above, the AHA and the ACC are both involved in production of the literature that we read to influence our decisions. What people don’t know is that those articles are generated by folks like Jeff. He will pay doctors to do clinical trials. In the CV arm that means that doctors (usually foreign, and ethically challenged) will do paper work on patients meeting criteria. The doctors get paid between $50,000 to 150,000 per year, or higher. The reimbursement for this is very complicated so it is very difficult to nail down the exact amount. Now, Jeff will actually write the articles for these guys about his drugs. The doctors and Jeff then submit the article and it is published. If I have a contrary opinion, I can’t meet the money lay out to get by data organized and the journals of these organizations will not accept anything but one theme, namely that cholesterol is so bad (but some research shows it is actually good). Thus, doctors get only one opinion, the opinion that Jeff and bunch desire. Same system goes for climate “science”. Though I am a member and was high in these organizations, I find them utterly corrupt and seriously question anything coming out in the journals.
Also, NNP is sometimes called NNT, number needed to treat. You can find this on the internet by googling your drug name followed by NNT.
When you put it that way I understand you’re talking about a corrupt system not the specific drug. Thanks. I’m sorry but I’ve a degree in economics and spent my 45 year career in business never having worked for anyone but myself since college. I am very ignorant of the sciences which is my own fault. They never interested me. Plus when you work a great many 16 hour days there’s not a lot of time to study outside your own occupation.
Hoagie,
Hope your transplant comes through. Good Luck.
