(13NewsNow) The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is investigating congressional candidate Karen Mallard after she posted a video on Facebook that shows her cutting apart an AR-15 rifle.
The school teacher and Democrat is running for Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District, hoping to oust Republican Congressman Scott Taylor.
In the video, as Mallard introduces herself, she says, “I grew up in Wise County, surrounded by guns. Our family had guns my whole life. We use them for hunting, for protection, and recreation.”
She goes on to explain that she wasn’t happy when her husband bought the AR-15 “a while back.” Mallard adds that after the deadly shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida on February 14, and the renewed outcries for stricter gun control that followed, she and her husband agreed they didn’t want the AR-15 in their home.
The couple later decided they didn’t want it it anyone else’s house, either.
“So, today, we’re going to destroy it,” states Mallard before taking a handheld power saw to it.

Mallard had a hissy fit over “right wing trolls” in her Twitter feed. Some of them pointed out something interesting
Several others said Mallard broke federal law by taking a legal firearm and altering it, making it into an illegal one. Many of them referred to details contained within the Sawed-Off Shotgun and Sawed-Off Rifle Act which, in part, prohibits people (except for those permitted by the act) from having a rifle that has been “modified to an overall length of less than 26 inches.”

Will she be charged? If it was you or me, we would be. But politicians seem to be treated differently.
If I remember correctly, NFA violations are 10 year & $10k fine. We’ll see how the BATFE handles it seeing as they will charge and convict for constructive manufacture of a machine gun for having an M16: trigger/disconnector/selector installed or on hand while you have access to an AR15 – until the 90’s AR manufacturers used all M16 parts (except the bolt carrier), they just didn’t drill for or include the sear pin and auto sear.

Read up on the snaky dishonest crap the BATFE does to get convictions when they’re feeling froggy. Convicted a fellow for a silencer a couple years back – it was a commercially produced airsoft replica, he didn’t even own a firearm, just airsoft replicas. They recorded db for an agency weapon, duct taped on the airsoft “silencer†& recorded a shot through. It was quieter (though destroying it). Multiple cases of them manufactering rifle cartridges w/ light powder loads and pistol primers. The resulting impulse is not enough to lock back the disconnector & multiple shots are fired (until it fires out of battery and destroys the weapon).

Once again, a complete lie from you. The left looked the other ways as policies and the destruction of the family has led to incidents like this. The right has said “enforce the laws on the books” and the left has said “we need to strip people of their rights.”
People aren’t “apoplectic” about the woman “destroying” an AR-15 variant. In fact, what the woman did (and what your comment proves) is that people on the left have no clue as to what laws are on the books. She wants more laws by hypocritically feeling the need to violate gun laws.
And you, like an ignorant sycophant, joined in the chorus of other haters on the left in trying to protect this law breaker by not only trying to make some nebulous moral equivalency to jaywalking. The fact of the matter is that she cut the barrel off – she didn’t destroy the weapon as barrels are easily replaceable on that weapon. That shows your continued ignorance of the weapon itself.
The law against shortening the barrel on weapons is there to protect people from sawed off weapons that were easily concealed and harmed innocent bystanders. That means that you not only supported her breaking the law, but her criminal plans to harm others. After all, using the same logic that you try to use when asking “why would people want a civilian AR-15?” and postulate that people only want it to kill others, her only reason for cutting the barrel was to make a weapon that would kill even more people.
And yet because of your hatred of logic, rights and the law, you support her.
The even sadder thing is that while you complain about 10,000 deaths in crimes with guns, you are perfectly acceptable with the 300,000 deaths of children every year. The left has been bought and paid for by Planned Parenthood and you support their goal of murdering children.
You hate innocent children to the point where you enjoy their blood on your hands.
