This is insane, as a follow up to the story earlier in the day
(WRAL)Â Some emails to Blue noted that one Chapel Hill officer at the scene of the protest had a tattoo on his arm for the Three Percenters, a militia group that pledges armed resistance to any effort to curtail constitutional rights.
The officer, identified as Cole Daniels, “expressed regret that his tattoo has been associated with groups that perpetuate hatred and violence,” Blue said in an email sent Wednesday to WRAL News by Chapel Hill spokeswoman Catherine Lazorko.
“We understand the concerns regarding the negative interpretations of the tattoo and regret it was displayed. This will not occur again,” Blue said. “We also want to emphasize that the negative interpretation of that tattoo is inconsistent with the values and mission of our department. We expect employees to abide by our values in the performance of their duties for the Town.”
UPDATE:Â Town Manager Roger Stancil said in an email Wednesday evening to Town Council members that Daniels was placed on paid leave Monday. Concerns over his tattoo led the police department “to question his ability to function effectively as a police officer within this community,” the email says. The department is conducting an internal investigation into the matter.
Yet, the Chief Of Police, who told officers to stand down in the face of criminal violations, is sitting pretty and seemingly in no danger. You can also bet that some officers have worse tattoos. And that a lawsuit will soon be coming if Officer Daniels is terminated.
What values? What mission?
All they did was stand down and let a mob destroy public property.
Suspended with pay during the investigation. Sounds reasonable.
What, pray tell, is there to investigate, little fella?
puppies: What… is there to investigate…?
Ask the chief.
Why do you hate reasonable questions, puppies, and white people, little fella?
Clearly, little Jeffery has never read the First Amendment.
Oh noez! A patriot who believes in following the Constitution and the concept of limited government that the founders wanted for out country. That’s surely a radical dangerous extremist, especially to the like of the SPLC, and his speech must be stifled and job taken away. Because THAT is apparently consistent with the beliefs of the organization.
Should police be able to regulate if officers wear gang tattoos? How about swastikas? Antifa flag? KKK Kross? MS13? Crips? AB? SS? Bloods? 1488? Crown?
The guy was in the prescribed uniform.
He was knowingly hired and trained to be a police officer. Apparently there was no regulation against said tattoo at the time he was hired. The only reason for the uproar is because the guy is white.
IOW witch hunt.
So did they suspend all the white officers or only the one with a militia group’s tattoo, little ball licker?
Takes one to know one, and that’s not the issue.
The man is allowed to belong to any non-criminal group, whether Lefty pansies like it or not.
Of course he is. But that doesn’t immunize him against repercussions. There’s no law preventing Con Men from joining neoNazi orgs or the KKK. But you prefer to keep it secret because most people disagree with your hatred.
The officer can always keep his tattoos covered.
III Percenters are not recognized by law enforcement as a gang.
When you get to Antifa or MS-13, which your pinup girl, Pelosi Galore, just loves, let us know.
How about swastikas or battle flags?
Whataboutism…
What do you think of your pinup boy Don Raper wanting to censor platforms like Google and facebook because searches find bad things that he’s done?
Don, the media is not out to get you, the media as after ratings.
America IS out to get you, and the media is just covering it.
Whataboutery…
It learned a new term. How cute!
He just wants a level playing field. And social media is a public carrier, just like the railroads in the 1870s when the Sherman Anti-Trust Act was written.
And I assume you can prove these rape charges you mention.
Or is this like how you understand the Constitutional meaning of impeachment?
Sometimes it’s better to be a bit more gray in order to be where you need to be. Personally not a big fan of authority figures like cops having visible tattoos of anything, undercuts your ethos.
