She says it is her version of the ERA and a way to protect herself from the crazy protesting and threatening liberals

A Virginia state senator utilized the state’s open-carry law in a unique way on Tuesday by carrying her .38 caliber revolver with her right into the state’s capitol building.

Amanda Chase, a first-term conservative state senator who has made news by being a vocal opponent of the Equal Rights Amendment, decided to carry her gun after pro-immigration activists confronted a fellow state senator the day before, forcing Capitol Police to be called, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

“It concerned me,” Chase told The Washington Post, describing her feelings about the incident. “I’ve had threats. I’ve had stalkers since I’ve been in the General Assembly. I am going to continue to represent the issues that are important to my constituents, and I’m not going to be intimidated by people who would try to physically harm me.”

Chase, who has a concealed-carry permit and says she always carries concealed, open-carried on Tuesday while presenting bills in the Senate Privileges and Elections Committee. One of those bills happened to be an Equal Rights Amendment resolution alternative.

“Sometimes it’s a deterrent for over-exuberant folks. Unfortunately, in the General Assembly, we see the good, we see the bad, we see all types of things,” she told the Times-Dispatch. “It’s just for personal safety, quite honestly.”

“I’ve had people get in my face. I’ve had people come up and try to touch me inappropriately,” she told the Post. “And it is a deterrent.”

It’s actually very normal for members of the General Assembly in Virginia to carry their weapons in a concealed manner within the GA building. Of course, liberal gun grabbers are spinning the open carry

She’s actually done this on at least two days

“I’ve been called a ‘badass,’” Chase said to the Post, adding that she believes the practice“empowers women.”

“I jokingly call it my ERA.”

Carrying a firearm is a great equalizer for women. Strange how the self-professed defenders of women in the Democratic Party want to take this away.

    OLYMPIA — Lt. Gov. Cyrus Habib did not preside at the governor’s address to a joint session of the Legislature on Tuesday because he felt vulnerable in the House chamber, where people can carry concealed weapons in the public galleries.

    “There is no specific threat to me. There is no specific threat we know of, period,” he said before the governor’s speech. “It’s about the policy.”

    Habib’s office issued a formal statement less than two hours before the event which read: “Safety protocol could not be agreed upon between the House and Senate for the State of State ceremony. Given that the ceremony takes place in the House chamber, deference goes to House leadership to follow their protocol.”

    Virginia has a “sheep dog.” The state of Washington has a scared sheep.

    Another lawmaker not getting the whole “equal under the law” thing. Special privileges for some people, but not for everyone. The right answer is permit-less concealed carry as a civil right.

    In my opinion he is correct if “shall not be infringed” actually means shall not be infringed. A permit, test, rating, inspection, registration or any other qualification is an infringement and if you don’t believe so ask yourself what the leftists would do if we demanded the same qualifications and restrictions for voting as we do for firearms. Hell, ask what they woud do if we applied the same restrictions to abortion which actually stops a beating human heart and is not an innumerated right in our Constitution.

    BTW, I finally decided what feminism actually is: Toxic femininity. It afflicts mostly privileged, well-off white women with too much f*****g time on their hands because nobody will marry them and they have given up their responsibility to procreate therefore they need to scream at the sky, wear pink pussy hats and generally make a childish nuisance of themselves. At least till they meet that wonderful black guy who will save them from the white racist patriarchy then find themselves on an episode of Cops.
