Italian law enforcement must be Very Proud of themselves
Italian Woman Fined for Taking Her Turtle for a Walk During Coronavirus Quarantine
A 60-year-old woman has been fined for breaking Italy’s lockdown measures—her excuse: she was walking her pet turtle.
According to Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, police found the woman outside her home on Monday. When asked to present justification for breaking quarantine, she said she had left her house to take her turtle for a walk. The reason was not considered satisfactory and she was fined €400 ($430).
Italy has been in lockdown since March 9 and this is not the first time residents have broken protocol. As Newsweek previously reported, a 31-year-old man from San Fermo della Battaglia was fined in March after flouting the lockdown rules to play “Pokemon Go.” Some 16,545 fines were issued on Easter Monday alone. (snip)
Italians are allowed out to buy food and medication, and to go for a walk, but must carry a certificate giving their reasons for being outside the house. As Newsweek previously reported, anyone found in violation of these policies can be fined or even sentenced to jail time
Government around the world has become unhinged. They say keep your distance, yet, when people are doing that they fine them and even arrest them for daring to be outside. “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority, still more when you superadd the tendency or the certainty of corruption by authority.”
And this from Twitchy
We have a lot of elected leaders at all levels of government who are enjoying being tyrants. Americans need to hold all of accountable. This cannot be allowed to continue.

Again, if you’re keeping your distance, what is the problem?
The more we allow, the more they will take. In my state, one city counsel passed an ordinance that prohibited box stores like WalMart and Target from selling “non essential” items. It wasn’t long until whole counties decreed the same, and now whole states have followed suit.
This won’t end until we push back, refuse to obey and just open stores/businesses.
This is law enforcement in Italy:

Suck it up, Buttercup.
The current situation is all “make do”. China let something ugly get loose and the rest of the world had to play defense. Probably the only certainty was from Italy which did OK until healthcare collapsed and the bodies began to stack up. The tactic for the US was to slow the spread of whatever it was so the docs could limit the deaths. Even pushing that to the state level in the US was going to be a mess. There was no rule that might work in Chicago that would be relevant in the rest of Illinois. I live in a nearby state. My insurance agent commutes from Illinois. A physician I used to work with married a chemist. They took turns on the hour drive to their home/farm so one could read and use their portable computer. Figure out how to restrict disease spread when everyone is everywhere.
There are a$$holes out there, and given the chance, will act like a$$holes. There is always someone who will interpret rules as if Adolf, Uncle Joe, and the Chairman were too soft on the peasants. The others collected “donations” to turn our cities into ghetto death camps.
Let’s all do what we want, then I can claim “self defense” for shooting that bastard who sneezed in front of my house.
Hey! The people screwing up are the people you elected. This isn’t going away in an hour. You(We) can fix things on the fly, but you(we) better because China has been doing this for millenia. Bacteria, parasites, and viruses are their major export to the world. That is where we got the plague in the American southwest. Them’s the guys who just about wiped out Europe, several times.
As I recall, those episodes in Europe also had something to do with “business” and “trade” and “travel”. Maybe you have some ideas of how to deal with the next surprise from Asia….
But, please stop the whining, or I’ll send my pangolin after you.
It’s started…

Missed in all this is that VIRGINIA passed gun control legislation and the Governor gushed with pleasure that 40k people werent protesting on his lawn as he signed it into law.
Virginia. Bloomberg will have to spend a billion in that state to keep it blue in November. Even Bernie Bros and Liberals were marching with conservatives on this one.
