Major newspaper goes on witch-hunt for “liberal bias” by attytood
First, attytood has a brief blurb on “witch hunt,” then
Liberals in the newsroom — a.k.a. your so-called “liberal media.”
It’s happening at one of the largest newspapers in New Jersey — the Record, based in Bergen County, which covers the mostly affluent suburbs west and northwest of Manhattan, a paper known for winning awards and training young journalists who go on to the bigger East Coast newspapers. It is not known, particularly, as a bastion of liberalism, except to a handful of readers who passed that complaint along when the readership-desperate newspaper begged citizens to tell them what they wanted to read. First came this report last month:
Insert some excerpts, then
Of course, by “bias” Scandale is referring to “liberal bias.” How will this play out over the six months? It’s hard to say — it’s doubtful that any reporter will get in trouble, but then human nature is such that good journalists will probably pull their punches or metaphorically look over their shoulders on a few stories. In my experience, when that starts to happen the casualty is exactly the No. 1 “job” that the readers said that they wanted — “telling the truth,” since truth-telling sometimes means getting a little more aggressive than the blandness of the ol’ on-one-hand, on-the-other-hand.
Ah, so there really isn’t a liberal bias, it is all in your head. It would be easy to get in to a discussion of the majority of those in the media voting for Kerry, most of them self identifying as liberal, and giving money to Democrats, but, na, not going there. Here is where I am going. After attytood tells us there really is not liberal media bias, let’s find out who this guy is who is posting at one of the top 2 hard left/progressive blogs (the other being the Huff Post)
Cross-posted by Will Bunch at my Philadelphia Daily News blog, Attytood: (empasis mine)
That’s right! Will Bunch is part of the Credentialed Media. Case solved! There is no left leaning media bias!

‘My’ Soldier Came Home…
America’s Son came home from war alive and whole, so why do I feel such a loss? My sleep has been forced upon me, I forget to eat, I constantly check the email in the hopes that he’ll let me know he’s alright. After all, that is what we did…
URGENT: Operation Love From Home…
Today is June 10, 2008. That means we only have 4 days left to reach our goal of 5000 ‘Thank you’ cards for our Servicemembers in Afghanistan. Please send whatever you can, even if it’s only one card. It will be greatly appreciated…
Hi! (Just want to let you know that used ‘Kerry’ instead of ‘Obama’ after the 2nd blockquote, line 4.)
How have you been? Pretty busy I imagine. Have a wonderful day. ;)
How you doing, gorgeous?
I remembered seeing a study after the 2004 election where something like 90% of those in the media had voted for Kerry. No bias! :)
Must be sumpin’bout 90% seems to draw the lemmings out. The. Man. Who’s. Middle. Name. Must. Not. Be. Mentioned. has the same support ratio from the halfricans, but they’re not racist or bigoted.
Wait’ll they turn on the bug zapper aka the Brown Note during the convention.
What? CNN and the NY Slimes and Washington Compost are like FOX NEWS – Fair & Balanced? Or are they UNFAIR and UNBALANCED? I watch FOX and C-Span and the History Channel, and the Wikipedia crap is a Ryan thing! You mean Dan Rather and Katie Couric are CONSERVATIVES after all? ReallY? And AIR AMERICA too? Where have I been matey?
Speaking of halfricans ….. The Zimbabwe Militia – under Robert Mugabe – hacked and burned alive his opposition party leaders wife – Dadirai Chipiro. They chopped off her hand and both feet, and burned her alive… Back to reparations and the Middle Passage, eh?
