Oh, wait, sorry, don’t call it a COVID passport, it’s a digital vaccine verification system. And still won’t be mandatory nudge nudge wink wink know what I mean know what I mean
California launches digital vaccine verification system but says it will not be mandatory
California just released a new digital vaccine verification system that residents can use in place of a the small CDC cards to prove they are inoculated against COVID-19.
The portal asks Californians to enter some personal information, including age and date of birth. If the information matches the official records, the user will receive a text or email with a link to their digital record, which has a QR code that can be scanned to show authenticity.
The digital vaccine cards are not “vaccine passports,” the state says. They contain only the same information as the CDC paper cards, and California will not make them mandatory. The digital version is just “one of the options to show proof of vaccination” for the coronavirus, the state says in the FAQ section.
California officially reopened on June 15, dropping requirements for physical distancing, capacity limits on businesses, and a tier system that varied the requirements by county. The nearly 20 million vaccinated residents of the state can use the new system to prove their vaccination status at businesses that require it, though most are not verifying vaccination.
Now, if this remains simply the information on the CDC card, OK. The concern is that it does start carrying more and more information, and that it does start being mandatory. Why is it necessary when most businesses are not verifying vaccination? Will they start after passport’s, er, digital vaccine verification system’s, release? How long is it around for? COVID is slowly ending, thank goodness. But, the Powers That Be are still trying to scare people with the Delta variant discussion. And we all know there are ulterior motives with COVID passports.
Meanwhile, China Joe is going to visit Raleigh
55% of NC adults have had one COVID shot as Biden announces Raleigh visit to up vaccinations
The White House announced Sunday that President Joe Biden will be visiting Raleigh Thursday to encourage COVID vaccinations.
The visit is part of President Biden’s “National Month of Action,” the nationwide sprint to get 70 percent of adults at least partially vaccinated by July 4.
The latest update from NCDHHS Friday said 55 percent of North Carolina adults have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Oh, joy, Joe will be in town. Hopefully, he will stay in an area of town far from me, so the traffic doesn’t get hosed in my area. How bad will he do? Will he be having a lucid day?
I sure wish the democratic party hadn’t turned COVID into a political issue against Trump. It would have been nice to be able to trust our government about health care issues at least.
Trump was so bad at hanging covid
Countries like vietnam habled it much better with total deaths less than 200
Why couldn’t we have done better ?
It wasn’t handled better because it was so politicized that actual therapeutics like HCQ and Ivermectin were forbidden from being even mentioned and any data that ran counter was also forbidden from distribution. I don’t blame Trump, I blame the media, social media, and Democrats who were always against anything Trump was for even if it would lead to more deaths.
Woody Boyd gives one reason.
The other reason would be that the governments of states like California and New York said there was nothing to worry about with COVID and told people to continue with their lives as normal.
Perhaps Hairy was too busy eating pizza rolls that he missed the damning report from the New York State Bar Association Task Force on Nursing Homes and Long-Term Care which said:
Once New York and California started to take COVID serious, people fled those states as they were clearly the epicenter of the virus which happened because of their policies.
The people that left the state took it elsewhere to other states. There is clearly blood on the hands of these two states.
As usual, Hairy hates facts and Trump so much that he is willing to promote a country that hates freedoms as much as he does.
After all, all the left has is hate.
Although Cuomo and Newsome, geniuses that they are, didn’t see a need to use them because…

Maybe because our system of government is different than that in Vietnam, although I have no idea of the particulars of theirs. In our Federal system, it’s actually the governors of the respective states that handle the majority of the response. Of course Trump did ban China travel early on, and remember Slow Joe and Pelosi criticized him for being “xenophobic†and “racistâ€. I guess it didn’t matter to them that the Chinese aren’t a race, so impossible to be racist. The race would be Asians.
No wonder Hairy likes Vietnam:
Initially Vietnam was touted as a success story as the reported numbers of cases and deaths were low. The country had closed off their borders and demanded that people stay inside.
However, with the reopening of the borders, the cases and deaths are starting to rise. Vietnam has one of the lowest vaccination rates in modern countries due mostly to a failure to get vaccines and asking in country labs who have no or limited experience to develop vaccines.
Furthermore, there is this:
Hairy likes to cite Vietnam without understanding the numbers or the government of the country. Hairy hates the types of freedoms that the government of Vietnam seeks to oppress which is not unsurprising.
After all, all the left has is hate.
gitarcarver: However, with the reopening of the borders, the cases and deaths are starting to rise.
Vietnam is experiencing a surge, but it is far less than anything seen in the U.S., about 400 cases per day in a country with a population of 96 million. They certainly aren’t out of the woods yet, but the U.S. has been and is far worse, with about 11,000 cases per day in a population of 330 million. This could change, however, if Vietnam does not implement widespread vaccination.
Some countries clearly did better than others:
Country, deaths per million
U.S., 1855
Norway, 145
South Korea, 39
China did the best, Kiddiez.

Coronavirus Cases:
91,629
Deaths:
4,636

The stats on COVID are definitely not reliable. When you promise to pay 100% of billing to a hospital then you are assured that all patients will have COVID. I would not doubt that deliveries were coded out as COVID. In addition, Fauci assured that doctors would not be able to treat patients in the early stages before they developed irreversible lung complications.
david7134: The stats on COVID are definitely not reliable.
The COVID death count is supported by excess deaths, and by the experience of other countries, who are also struggling with the disease.
Z,
You have zero knowledge, experience and any other parameter to judge. Your one and only talent is mining the worthless data of the internet. Plus your statement does not make sense. By the way, when was the last time you coded a diagnosis or determined cause of death.
david7134: Your one and only talent is mining the worthless data of the internet.
We generally refer to primary sources. Nor is ad hominem an effective argument against the evidence. You might try addressing the points raised.
Z,
I don’t argue with you, I am an expert in the subject, you are an adolescent child with no degrees. You have no knowledge of critical reading or thinking. You have not presented a single so called primary source and don’t know where to find them. As we said, go away.
david7134: I am an expert in the subject ‘
But demonstrate absolutely no expertise, but use personal attacks in lieu of argument, much like an “adolescent child”.
Here’s data on excess deaths:

Hairy, Vietnam is only about the size of Montana. Smaller areas are always easier to manage.
Vietname has a very young population with almost no obesity or diabetes. So the 3 main comorbidities are out of the picture. Vietnam also has a very authoritarian government that can do anything it wants at any time.
Drew458: Vietnam is only about the size of Montana. Smaller areas are always easier to manage.
Vietnam has a population of about 96 million, with a higher population density than the U.S.
Drew458: Vietnam also has a very authoritarian government that can do anything it wants at any time.
That’s the argument of authoritarians everywhere: that open societies will bicker even when confronting an existential threat. Hitler laid that bet — and lost. So far, there has been great resistance to meeting the current challenge in the U.S.
This is where I again mention that the need for paperwork showing that you have immunity to this virus is almost zero. And where I again mention that natural immunity and acquired immunity are being ignored. The virus has been running around the US for more than a year and a half now, yet only about 10$ of the population has caught it. The rest of us have all been exposed to it many many times. Everyone is aware that antibodies don’t stick around forever; a test exists that can determine if you have immunity via your T-cells. When the government starts handing out this expensive test I think it will show tremendous numbers of us are essentially immune to this thing even if we’ve never had the illness. Finally, there are several effective and inexpensive prophylactic treatments that keep you from getting this virus, and can cure you if you do get it. Their protection and remediation is stronger than what the vaccines offer.
So, while I think it’s foolish and segregationalist to have vaccine passports, it would be fairer to make them immunity passports and include a)had it, got over it, have acquired immunity, b)had natural immunity from having other viruses in the past, c) am taking bi-weekly ivermectin or weekly HCQ.
I fully expect this reasoned approach to be completely ignored. Reason went down the tubes even before the toilet paper panic reaction, for a virus that hardly ever gives anyone loose bowels.
Drew458: The virus has been running around the US for more than a year and a half now, yet only about 10$ of the population has caught it. The rest of us have all been exposed to it many many times.
That is almost certainly not the case because as recently as January, as the vaccine was being rolled out, there were a quarter million new cases a day. This is a far cry from herd immunity:

Over 600,000 American families disagree with your callous statement.
Jeff,
That is such a pious statement. Then you are wrong. Let me remind you of the fact you have zero knowledge of medicine.
david7134: Then you are wrong.
About one in five hundred Americans have died of COVID-19. For each that have died, many others have been hospitalized, with some having long-term deleterious aftereffects.
Z,
Your statement does not have sense. I had COVID in 2018. I have treated patients with the disease. Go away.
The Kiddiez intentional use of misdirection by interchanging the words “of” and “with”.
Dishonesty at its finest.
