If All You See…

The blog of the day is The First Street Journal, with a post on the LA school system planning to assault every student every week.

Teach the new vovid swab test is self administered
    The subject uses hand sanitizer
The subject is handed and opens a package contains 2 swabs
Subject removes one inserts into first nostril rotates it
Subject inserts used swab into container and breaks off end
    Repeats on other nostril
Swab container is sealed put in bag with their info sheet

    There is no assault
The subject is not touched by anyone
Again please stop the fear mongering
    Stop trying to scare people
    Like you always do

    • Dana says:

Tell us, O Hirsute One, just how far up the nostril must one insert these swabs? Because if it’s very far at all, the way nurses have been administering the tests, how does one know that the swabbed material was retrieved from far enough up the nose?

In a world in which first graders have to be tested, are we going to rely on the proficiency of first graders to self administer these tests?

A commenter on Patterico’s Pontifications said, of this:

I’m VERY curious to see how they plan to enforce and execute this. LAUSD is now over 70% Latino, a demographic that’s not as susceptible to the same type of cathedral class finger-wagging that white liberals and moderates tend to knuckle under to rather quickly. I can’t imagine that a bunch of hormone-riddled, surly Latino teenagers from working-class families are going to be all that thrilled with the prospect of having to get tested even if they are vaccinated, much less their parents. Expect either a hard backlash that makes them back off of this policy, or a bunch of slick propaganda pieces from a few select district students to try and establish a culture of peer pressure to suck it up and deal.

Actually what you can expect is a whole bunch of students who are going to reach out with their fists and jack your jaw if you try to stick that thing up their noses.

    Americans don’t want electric cars?
Ford has sold 120000 reservations @ $100 for its next year’s 2022 F150 electric pickup
Tesla sold 1 million reservations @ 100$ for its truck

    • Dana says:

Well, maybe they’ll actually buy them! They just haven’t been buying them in the past.

In 2018, Ford sold over 900,000 F-150s, so 120,000 reservations would be just 13% of that market. But the F-150 Lightning will not be, primarily, a work truck. It’s a luxury vehicle, just a 5½ foot bed, great for hauling groceries and beer. Lumber, and a lot of tools, and animal feed, and fenceposts, maybe not so much.

Does this look like the cab of a work truck?

This is what a work truck looks like!

The F-150 Lightning is what the bosses in the white hard hats and clean chinos will drive. The men doing the actual work? Their trucks will look more like mine.

    • Dana says:

Do you think an actual working man is going to get into this after 10½ hours on the jobsite?

    • Dana says:

I will say one thing for the F-150 Lightning: it has really good cup holders!

    • Dana says:

You see this tailgate? The inside is plastic! What man using his truck as an actual working vehicle is going to want that?

    • Dana says:

But here’s the greatest picture of all. Husband and wife — OK, OK, sorry, my bad! My patriarchal attitude assumed they were married, when they could have been man and mistress! — outside an expensive, modern-style home, picking up debris from a storm, while their F-150 Lightning is still in the immaculate garage, still hooked up to the charger.

Someone who actually worked with his truck would have pulled it outside and be throwing the debris into the bed of the truck to haul it off!

      • drowningpuppies says:

Wonder if the truck is powering the home…

Wonder if the chainsaw is battery-powered.

Do you ever put two of your ridiculous statements together and realize how silly you are?

Ford has sold 120000 reservations @ $100 for its next year’s 2022 F150 electric pickup
Tesla sold 1 million reservations @ 100$ for its truck

That would be the Tesla truck that failed on its rollout and has not passed any safety standard?

      But I digress.

A few days ago you were (wrongfully) touting that the Tesla car was the same as the average price of cars in the US.

That was shown to be false by actual data and not your supposition and talking points.

Let’s apply your theory on “costs the same” to electric trucks.

I’ll take your word for the idea that the two electric trucks you are pushing are $100K. (The price is higher, but I can work with that figure.)

According to MotorBiscuit, citing Kelly Blue book data:

As for the average cost of a new truck? In June 2020, the average price of a new truck was $38,361. These days, however, KBB’s data shows that the average cost of a new truck is approximately $41,105. That marks a 7.20% increase in the average cost of a new truck in just a year.

      https://www.motorbiscuit.com/best-new-trucks-2021-cost/

The electric trucks that you are touting are 2.43 times the current cost of the average truck.

So which is it, Hairy? Are electric vehicles the same cost as average vehicles or are you saying that the average truck costs $100,000 despite all data to the contrary?

Once again, your “facts” and thinking get laid open as lies and fallacies for all to see.

One has to wonder why you hate facts, logic, math and women.

Then again, all the left has is hate.

  3. Kye says:

Hairy, we all understand you love EV’s. You don’t need to lie to convince anybody because if EV’s prove to be any good, reliable, cost effective, good looking, comfortable, easy and reasonable to repair, reliable and comfortable they will sell themselves. If not no amount of cajoling or lying will make anybody but the weak of mind want them. It’s kind of like the crap you all feed us about Wuhan Flu or climate change. So far all your evidence is unconvincing.

    • Dana says:

But we all know, ’cause the Hirsute One has told us, it would take only 100 mi² of solar panels to power every household, commercial venture and industry in the United States! https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif
