Here we go: Democrats are already setting the stage for a big loss in 2022 by blaming gerrymandered maps, forgetting that states that are run by Democrats are being gerrymandered in their favor. Outlets like the NY Times know that the Democrat voting foot soldiers are dumb enough to believe this, especially if repeated enough times. Also, the unhinged #NeverTrumpers, who keep saying they are conservatives/Republicans yet do everything possible to help Democrats
Republicans Gain Heavy House Edge in 2022 as Gerrymandered Maps Emerge
A year before the polls open in the 2022 midterm elections, Republicans are already poised to flip at least five seats in the closely divided House thanks to redrawn district maps that are more distorted, more disjointed and more gerrymandered than any since the Voting Rights Act was passed in 1965.
The rapidly forming congressional map, a quarter of which has taken shape as districts are redrawn this year, represents an even more extreme warping of American political architecture, with state legislators in many places moving aggressively to cement their partisan dominance.
The flood of gerrymandering, carried out by both parties but predominantly by Republicans, is likely to leave the country ever more divided by further eroding competitive elections and making representatives more beholden to their party’s base.
At the same time, Republicans’ upper hand in the redistricting process, combined with plunging approval ratings for President Biden and the Democratic Party, provides the party with what could be a nearly insurmountable advantage in the 2022 midterm elections and the next decade of House races.
Well, it’s nice that the NY Times mentions the poor approval ratings, but, they see that as secondary, as it’s all about those mean, cheating Republicans who will commit…..politics. Does anyone think California will be fair in redistricting? How about Oregon? Washington? It wouldn’t matter how this happens in Republican run states, as, at least at this time, people are extremely unhappy with the Democrats, and you just can’t see Biden getting better. His only saving grace will be if the economy gets a lot better by voting day next year.
See, though, it’s not just bad for the House
Nationalized races threaten Dem governors in ’22
The sharp swing away from Democrats last week in Virginia and New Jersey has the party newly alarmed about even more vulnerable governorships across the country next year.
President Joe Biden’s sinking approval rating in Virginia was one of the factors that helped doom former Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe, strategists on both sides of the aisle say, something that could materialize in 2022 if the political environment does not change.
Even in gubernatorial races — in which candidates generally do a better job at separating themselves from national party dynamics than in federal races — negative views of the president present a huge problem for a slate of Democratic incumbents up next year. That’s especially true after many tied themselves closely to Biden during his 2020 campaign and the first six months of his presidency.
It looked to me like McAuliffe lost more due to his big mouth in pissing off parents, and would have lost by more without early voting and cheat by mail. You can expect Democrats to get more squirrely over the next year, and will talk about cheating, for which they believe gerrymandering is part of that (failing to mention that in their own states, nor will the media call them on it), and push lots of fearmongering about Republicans wanting to instituted Fascism, because Fascism apparently means “less government in your life” now.

Bwaha! Lolgf
I doubt Pelosi will retire. People like her can’t give up the power. She would have to be pushed out of office by a more radically leftist in the primary. I don’t see that happening.
If she did retire, I doubt she will live much longer to enjoy Florida. Besides, I think the climate in her district in California is superior to Florida. No heat/humidity or snow (the bane of old people). And she is rich so she is insulated from California’s anti-everything policies.
It’s more likely she is looking for investment property to launder some kickbacks from that cool 1.8 Trillion she just gave away.
Stocks near records as Boeing order boosts Dow
Boeing received order from Emirates for two 777 Freighters
Tragic that the purchase of two planes can send the dow soaring! The Stock market is so hyper-inflated with the FED buying stocks and pumping money into the economy that it would be comical if not set to destroy the lives of probably 150 million Americans when the house of cards falls.
I can only say that I have gotten my house in order. Credit cards will soar into the 30 percent range when this happens, causing staggering debt, destroying 1000’s of big corporations, and plunging the world into a depression much worse than what was felt in 1929?
Why? Because we are dealing with a pandemic in the midst of a depression. There will be no printing your way out of this one since inflation will soar to 1000 percent meaning your money will be worthless.
The solution? The worldwide Great Reset in which everyone on the planet is beholden to the government for everything.
In the Bluegrass State, Republicans finally took control of the state House of Representatives following the 2014 elections, with the district maps set by the Democrats following the 2010 elections. Using those same districts, Republicans won 75 out of 100 seats in the 2020 elections.
In the 2018 election, Amy McGrath Henderson poured $8.5 million into her bid to win the 6th district congressional seat held by Rep Andy Barr (R-KY). In 2012, Mr Barr had unseated incumbent Democrat Ben Chandler 50.57% to 56.68%, in a district drawn primarily by Democrats; in 2011, Republicans controlled the state Senate, but the House and the governorship were controlled by Democrats. Despite outspending Mr Barr $8.5 million to $5.5 million, Mrs Henderson lost by 51.00% to 47.79%.
The 6th district contains Lexington, a Democratic ‘stronghold,’ though it isn’t Democratic by all that much; in 2016, Lexingtonians gave just 51.19% of their votes to the odious Hillary Clinton. The rest of the district, which includes the state capital of Frankfort, and the city of Richmond, site of Eastern Kentucky University, is primarily Republican these days, because Republicans dominate the state.
I have to ask: just how many of these states controlled by Republicans these days are hosting Republican majority state legislative chambers using districts drawn by Democrats?
In Pennsylvania, it was a bit different: Republicans won control of teh state House of Representatives in the 2010 elections, but they had been running in districts drawn by Democrats following the 2000 census.
William Teach: Does anyone think California will be fair in redistricting? How about Oregon? Washington?
California has an independent, citizen redistricting commission. Washington has an independent, bipartisan redistricting commission. In Oregon, redistricting is done by the legislature, but the law forbids maps drawn for partisan advantage.
At what point of the endless lies, fake data and phony poll will people like you finally decide not to believe all the crap government and media tell you? What on earth would have you believe a “independent, citizen redistricting commission, an independent, bipartisan redistricting commission and redistricting is done by the legislature, but the law forbids maps drawn for partisan advantage” (ha ha, you’re kidding right?) all of which are run by Democrats who covet power more than the lives of millions? Because they said so, you agree with their politics and therefore they would never lie. Just like The Steele dossier, and Fauci, no Americans left in Afghanistan, 2 weeks to flatten the curve, and on and on. .
We understand. Only Trump lies. Only Republicans lie. And everything the pure as snow Democrats do in CA, OR and WA. Cause white privilege. .
LG,
The Z’s are a bunch of high school kids in a debate club. All are want a be lawyers. All as dumb as shit, liberal, and have zero experience in the world. Their comments are phrased in such a manner as to elicit a response so they can use it in debate. In other words you are doing their home work.
L.G.,
“david” is a collective of far-right insurgents allied with the odious white supremacist, David Duke, all supporting the secession of the old Confederacy from the United States of America. Their goal is to overthrow the current US government and install a white nationalist structure.
Jeff,
None of that is true, but not a bad idea.
dookie,
It’s true.
L.G.Brandon: At what point of the endless lies, fake data and phony poll will people like you finally decide not to believe all the crap government and media tell you?
In other words, you have no evidence to refute that the bipartisan commission in Washington includes both Democrats and Republicans.
I absolutely support blue states redistricting through the use of independent, bipartisan commissions, and red states redistricting via their legislatures!
Dana: I absolutely support blue states redistricting through the use of independent, bipartisan commissions, and red states redistricting via their legislatures!
You touch on an important point. Some political structures result in a race to the bottom. When some people decide to do the right thing, they are punished and replaced by those who will use any available mechanism to take power, even if the result is to disenfranchise others.
Are you referring to the war cry from the left in the last election “By any means necessary”? I can’t think of anything more disenfranchising than stealing an election. The old Democrat ways of dead people voting, felons, people voting many times, unregistered voting, or just plain stuffing the ballot box has been replaced with hi-tech Dominion machines and boxes of printed ballots brought in the wee hours of the morning with the windows covered. The inability to render audits through our supposed court system helps the cover-up like cases of Covid votes help the cheaters determine how many votes they need.
Disenfranchisement in 2021 occurs when the Democrats are not permitted to keep counting until they win. It’s Stalinesque but effective.
L.G.Brandon: I can’t think of anything more disenfranchising than stealing an election.
There’s no evidence of significant irregularities in the 2020 election. (Nor did you provide evidence of your previous claim.)
