Inflation up, virus down as priorities in US: AP-NORC poll
Heading into a critical midterm election year, the top political concerns of Americans are shifting in ways that suggest Democrats face considerable challenges to maintaining their control of Congress.
A poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research finds that management of the pandemic, once an issue that strongly favored President Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats, is beginning to recede in the minds of Americans. COVID-19 is increasingly overshadowed by concerns about the economy and personal finances — particularly inflation — which are topics that could lift Republicans.
Just 37% of Americans name the virus as one of their top five priorities for the government to work on in 2022, compared with 53% who said it was a leading priority at the same time a year ago. The economy outpaced the pandemic in the open-ended question, with 68% of respondents mentioning it in some way as a top 2022 concern. A similar percentage said the same last year, but mentions of inflation are much higher now: 14% this year, compared with less than 1% last year.
Consumer prices jumped 6.8% for the 12 months ending in November, a nearly four-decade high. Meanwhile, roughly twice as many Americans now mention their household finances, namely, the cost of living, as a governmental priority, 24% vs. 12% last year.
The link to the AP-NORC poll article is here, and the toplines here. And this is all with a massive oversampling of Democrats, with a D/R/I of 46/37/18.
85% have experienced higher grocery and gas prices. 57% electricity. Those are not good numbers. 34% say 2022 will be better than 2021, 15% say it will be worse, and 50% will say won’t be much difference. Not good numbers for Joe and the Dems. Only 33% say the country is headed in the right direction. Too bad they didn’t ask if the policies of Biden and his Congressional Comrades were helping or hurting.
At the Kroger on Bypass Road in Richmond, Kentucky, milk was 99¢ per gallon in 2020, went up to $1.29 per gallon in 2021, and is now $1.79 per gallon.
So according to the poll Biden has been successful in reducing what Americans worried most about last year.
Now Dana that price of 99 cents per gallon of milk, is that something that you yourself saw? When I tried to check I could get nothing that indicated anything like that. I did find several things that pointed to it being twice as high.

Milk prices/milk prices adjusted for inflation
Hairy I realize you never respond or defend your posts but I shall endeavor to address your points so that once again you are not spreading disinformation that some unsuspecting soul might be influenced by.
Biden lost the war on the Virus. He did not reduce what Americans worried the most about last year. The virus replaced itself with the cold. Biden even admitted that the Federal government had no solutions so in order to save face this has now become a pandemic of the Unvaxxed.
The price of raw milk in 2020 was: US Milk Farm Price Received 20.80 USD/cwt for Nov 2021 But during the height of the Pandemic the price was May 31, 2020, was 13.20 per.
Now, why did Sir Dana see Milk as low as 99 cents in 2020? It was because of the pandemic. If people remember dairy farmers were dumping milk in their fields because the fear of God had been put into everyone by the left and Trump had no recourse but to follow suit.
Now you know the rest of the story. The rule for the day by anyone reading Hairy’s posts. Do so at your own risk as he tends to use information that is incorrect or at the very least misdirection.
Ask any dairy farmer if he can sell milk at 1 dollar per gal and stay in business
