In 2021, 26,328 suicides, 20,958 homicides and 549 accidental deaths resulted from firearms.
Yes, yes… many of the suicides would( occur anyway by other means, and some of the homicides would too. That said, the U.S. has the highest suicide rate of all advanced nations and most other nations. Globally, men are 3-5 fold more likely to take their own lives than women.
The U.S. homicide rate is folds greater than other advanced nations. For example, U.S. rate is 7.8/100K and next advanced nation is New Zealand at 2.6/100K. A New Zealand rate would save 14,000 Americans!
The American right is ‘grooming’ American young me to become murderers.
Let’s go deeper into that subject-speaking of homicide rates in America, blacks, which are 13% of the population, commit about 54% of all homicides. To break it down further, one can agree that by far most of those homicides are done by males, so now we have 6-7% of the population committing over half of the homicides. No doubt almost all of those are done by young black males, so we end up with, say, 3-4% of the total population committing about 54% of all homicides. As the poster said, it’s not a gun problem but rather it’s the little assholes you’ve raised with no conscience, control, or common sense
