Peaceful tours usually don’t involve beating officers with flag poles. Guided tours usually don’t involve Senators and Representatives fleeing. Guided tours usually don’t halt the Constitutional required certification of an election.

Police officers don’t willy-nilly launch teargas into a mostly peaceful demonstration unless they want to instigate a riot.

DeepThroat claims the teargas so enraged the peaceful protesters that they broke into the US Capitol Building to disrupt the 2020 election certification.

Alternatively, the few hundred officers protecting the Capitol Building, Congress and the Constitution were attacked by thousands of ‘patriots’ in tactical gear shouting “Kill Mike Pence!”, the VP required by law to certify the election. Then-President Trump called the US VP a “wimp” and a “pussy” and said “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done.” There was a conspiracy to have the election returned to the states where state GOPs would be able to declare Trump the winner. It was a long shot but Trump was desperate. The attack on the Capitol was to stop or delay the certification, but Congressional leaders reconvened later and performed their duty.
Special Counsel Jack Smith has begun an investigation of the events.

What would you call an attack on the seat of US government with the objective of blocking or delaying the certification of the election? A tour? Most routine visits to the Capitol don’t involve fighting with officers.
