Poll: Independents Say Biden Is Greater Threat to Democracy than Trump
Independent voters are not buying the establishment media’s claim that former President Donald Trump is a greater threat to democracy than President Joe Biden, according to the latest NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll.
A majority of independent voters believe Biden is a greater threat to democracy than Trump, the poll found:
- Biden: 53 percent
- Trump: 42 percent
The poll sampled 1,199 Americans from April 22-24 with a 3.6 point margin of error.
“I find it shocking,” MSNBC commentator Susan Del Percio said about the poll. “I can’t make sense of that number. I wish I could. I wish I had some really great insight into it.”

Biden and his Credentialed Media comrades have been pushing the meme that Trump is bad for democracy, so, this is rather a fail on their part.
That said, what will Trump and his team do? It’s not 2016. That playbook obviously failed in 2020. Trump refused to adapt. He seems to be doing the same things for 2024. He needs to focus on the economy, inflation, freedom, free speech, limited government, then he can mix in some other stuff. But, will he? All he needs is to win the states he won in 2016.
So the guy who complied with every court order and enforced every law by congress is seen as “more democratic” than the guy who ignores laws and court orders and rules by decree? Go figure.
The left really does make a parody of everything. The party of one party rule, the law is whatever they say it is, fake elections and “by any means necessary” calls itself “Democratic”.
Perhaps, just perhaps, some people are looking at government actions rather than listening to Democratic rhetoric. It hasn’t been the Republicans who’ve thrown the Capitol kerfufflers into jail; that was a Democratic witch hunt. It wasn’t Republicans who mandated taking an experimental and mostly untested vaccine, on pain of losing their jobs; that was the Democrats. It isn’t even the Republicans sending in the gendarmerie into the campus protest encampments — though many conservatives are enjoying the sight of it — but Democratic mayors and college administrators. It wasn’t the Democrats who tried to overturn the cornerstone of our democracy, i.e., the Presidential election and the “peaceful transfer of power”, was it?
It was Donald J. Trump and his devotees who worked to alter the votes in AZ, GA and MI. The “peaceful” protest at the US Capitol on Jan 6 was meant to delay to “peaceful transfer of power” for which America was previously revered.
Today, Trump and his followers (including Senators, Governors and Representatives) are warning America to expect violence unless Trump wins. Got it.

Yes, but to be fair, they weren’t trying to censor all of the internet. Just the parts that would make Joe Biden look bad during the election. 17% of the polled were from the Northeast, 38% from the South. 63% were 45 or older.
Of all the “Registered Voters” and “Definitely Voting in Nov”, Biden held a 52% to 47% lead. (p12)

51% said Trump would strengthen or have no effect
