The distinguished Mr Buttigieg claims to be Christian, an Episcopalian, but he apparently believes that God was just plain wrong when He declared homosexual activity to be a sin.
Self-proclaimed Christians apparently believe God declared a lot of things.

My answer to DOWDS questions.
“For the wages of sin is death.” Death to GOD. Heaven and hell exist for a reason for Christians, Muslims, and Jews. In the context of this quote used without context……..

For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I chose their version because my go-to version of the bible is the New American Standard Bible or Revised Standard Bible.
People work hard to sin. It is a conscious every day decision, but GOD OFFERS A FREE GIFT THAT YOU CANNOT EARN AND DO NOT HAVE TO WORK FOR TO RECEIVE…..ETERNAL LIFE. The only stipulation is that you accept that Jesus Christ came to earth to Atone for your sins.
Think of it this way, Dowd. Are you are saying the wages of sin are the same as you are saying I’m sure there are very fine people on both sides….The quote is incomplete and does no justice to the Truth.
One of the wages of sin is the innocent attempt at suppressing the truth.

Yes, it does. But there is good news for LGBTQ people. God loves us all. But to receive this love, you must come to the Father through the Son. Jesus was sent to earth to die for our sins so that we could have atonement.
What is atonement? Atonement is the reconciliation between sinful mankind and the holy God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Now this begs the question. Does God hate us if we refuse his atonement?
No God does not break his commandment. To accept eternal life, one must accept GOD for who and what he is as much as JESUS accepted mankind for what they were and gave his own life on the cross so that mankind could accept the HOLY SPIRIT into their lives and replace the evil within with the Holiness that GOD demands for his presence.
Hell is simply the absence of GOD. I do not believe there is an actual fire and brimstone place that sinners go if they do not accept GOD. It is not consistent with GOD. It is a construct that means if you refuse GOD on Earth. He refuses you in heaven, and you are not resurrected in his image and then sent to one of a trillion, trillion worlds in which GOD has dominion. AS an Angel to spiritually guide the universe of which God has dominion.
That is what I, as an evangelical MAGA supporter, believes.
