Brazil Wants A Global Tax On Billionaires

I’m all for this with one slight change

Brazil proposes global wealth tax to combat climate change

Brazil has suggested a 2% wealth tax on billionaires worldwide to raise $250 billion annually for addressing climate change, though it faces skepticism from some countries.

In short:

Brazil’s proposed tax would apply to individuals with assets exceeding $1 billion and aims to fund climate change initiatives.

While the plan has gained moral support from G20 ministers, implementation faces challenges, including resistance from countries like the U.S.

The proposal highlights disparities in global wealth distribution, with the top 1% holding vastly more wealth than the bottom half of the population.
Key quote:

“Our feeling is that, morally, nobody’s against. But the level of support from some countries is bigger than others.”

Do they really think this would raise that money, or, would they hide it? I suggest we put this tax on the uber-rich who yammer on about climate doom and take long, fossil fueled flights in private jets. Really, though, the uber-rich will not allow this to happen. They donate too much to campaigns, and have politicians in their pockets.

And all the materials are coming via fossil fueled trucks.

Haha. Good plan for Brazil to push the tax onto billionaires since it is the millionaires who want to be billionaires who are all in on Climate taxes. I suspect all those African “billionaires” wealth doesn’t count and those Chinese “Billionaires” aren’t going to pay a dime. So it’s really just the Americans and a few Europeans again.

The late Ismail Haniyeh had a net worth of $4 billion, so they can start there.

The left just love to blame the rich for other people being poor.

The rich built and control “the system”. In the US this relies on the constant redistribution of the fruits of labor to the “rich”. “The system” works until it doesn’t. The “populist” “man of the people” Trump, reinforces “the system”. Nothing he proposes helps the working class, other than emotionally. He promises to squelch the “woke”, queers, trannies, foreigners, blacks, Muslims, drag shows, etc.

Jeff “Bezos had one good idea, and he and his wife put it into action. Today, his base pay is just over $80 thousand/yr although his wealth increases by some $10 billion/yr or a few million/hour. He dumped his adorable and brilliant wife, Mackenzie, and she got away with over $30 BILLION!! He married his exotic girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez.

Well, at least our friend from the Ozarks said something with which I can agree:

I like Mr Bezos for having rescued The Washington Post, and I obviously appreciate that he had the idea for Amazon and built it from scratch. But yes, he was a total idiot for dumping Mackenzie Scott for a Latin hottie. The second Mrs Bezos has changed Mr Bezos’ spending habits, getting him to buy a monster ‘super-yacht,’ and do some other ridiculous things. I’m not a mind-reader, so I can’t say she’s just a gold digger, but it’s difficult to see from her public actions that she’s anything but a gold digger.

His base pay is just over $80 thousand a year? That’s pretty smart, given that he isn’t paying income and Social Security/Medicare taxes on it, and he can still buy anything he wants, subject to capital gains taxes, of course, but they’re lower than income and FICA.

There are no “individuals” with assets over a billion dollars.

Thing is, there is no global authority to collect and spend this theoretical tax.

Since when has that ever stopped communists? First they come up with some smooth name like The International Equality Fund then they create a branch of the UN to institute it, build an $800 million building to administer it then take everybody’s military put blue hats on them and they enforce.

It’s the same system communists and Democrats have used around the world since the Second World War. Then they can steal everybody’s money and tell everybody that they’re taking it off the billionaires which will obviously put their money in the Caymans or Togo or someplace like that. They’ve arrested billionaire criminals just in the United states for decades and have yet to collect real major fines. Hell how many people went to prison for the Jeff Epstein fiasco even after they imprisoned Ghislaine or whatever her name was? The problem we have is when too many of the defendants are Democrat supporters and contributors they don’t wanna prosecute. You know that old 2 tier system we have going here.

A “proving ground” … proving that none of this crap is economically justifiable on its own merits.

Middlebury College did something similar about 15 years ago … installed some big-ass solar panels, grew some kind of grass to be used in place of fossil fuels. It’s a farce.
