It’s income tax day, and I am officially $688 poorer. I mailed in my paper Form 1040, and the $688 check, so at least the money will be in my account, and not Uncle Sam’s greedy and grubby paws, for another day or two.
We’re down a couple hundred grand from Big 47’s silliness, but will recoup.

I used Freetaxusa.com this year. Normally I do Turbo tax but got tired of their constant upsell and their connection with all the Intuit products they recommend I buy. So instead of over $150 tax prep fee Turbotax charges, I paid $15. Got the same result. I really irritates me that we have to pay a third party to send our tax forms to the government. It also irritates me that the government thinks they are entitled to all that personal information so that they can tell we are paying the right amount.

According to Fat 47, foreign countries will pay ALL our taxes by next year. No more income taxes!! Sure, your cars, insurances, ‘groceries’, gas, clothing, electronics, healthcare, heating and cooling will cost a lot more… but the External Revenue Service will take your contributions from the foreigners!! The working class will still need to pay Social Security and Medicare taxes, unless 47 can end those programs.
The Republicuns in Congress are not as stupid as 47, but they fear him so they don’t challenge him directly. They know the tariff kerfuffle is a stupid mess, but they also realize that our debt is too high.

The Denisovans (Asia) and Neanderthals (Europe) diverged from modern human lineage about 800,000 years ago, and from each other around 600,000 years ago.
This the first report of Denisovan from that far West in Asia. It’s believed the Denisovans became extinct some 50,000 yrs ago.
