As usual, I am not going to give a whole lot of details. There are about a billion reviews out on ye olde Interwebz. Just the basics. Go see it. Worth the price of admission to the theater. At least a matinee viewing. I went to the 11:15am viewing at a theater in Raleigh, popcorn […]

Saw X-Men Origins: Wolverine this afternoon, and it is well worth seeing in the theaters. Does a great job of mixing action and dialogue, building up the story of how Wolverine came to be, and how he lost his memory. Of course, it isn’t quite perfect, in keeping with the original comics, but, hell of […]

Chilled out, went and saw the new Friday the 13th today. Excellent! Well worth seeing in the theater. Had to be the longest opening scene in film history. Went on for about 20 minutes before the title was shown. Good body count, just the right amount of blood and gore, meaning, they didn’t go for […]

Preferably in a horrible way. Snuffed. Capped. Sacrificed for the greater good. These are from movies (or parts of movies) I have actually seen 1. Jar Jar Binks. I don’t really need to explain, do I? Actually, it was George Lucas who needed to be sacrificed, but, he wasn’t an actual character in the movie. Anyhow, […]

Majel Barrett Roddenberry, the widow of “Star Trek” creator Gene Roddenberry and an actress whose longtime association with the “Star Trek” franchise included playing Nurse Christine Chapel in the original series, died early Thursday morning. She was 76. When it comes down to it, she was one of the most intregal people in the whole […]

Eh, got a wild hair after reading this post by Frank J. So, top 10 of my favorite vampires, in no particular order Selene (Kate Beckinsale) in Underworld. Who wouldn’t want to be bitten and enslaved by her? The original Nosferatu (the original) Dracula (Bela Lugosi) Dracula (Frank Langella) Kurt Barlow, the vampire from Salem’s […]

I’m going to have to disagree with the Yahoo Movies users rating, and, simply give it an “Eh.” While it certainly started out well, making fun of Jihadist names, with some good old David Zucker slapstick, it went downhill from there to complete predictability and telling me stuff I already know, without being very entertaining. […]

I know there have been some folks out there who have said The Dark Night was not that good, but, like the critics at Yahoo Movies, I have to give it an A-. Excellent movie, well worth the price of admission. Heath Ledger was truly outstanding as The Joker. Initially, the character seemed a little tepid, […]

I was really looking forward to seeing Hellboy II, thought the first one was great. Couldn’t play golf this afternoon because of the coming storms, so, went to the theatre. Started out great. Then, unfortunately, got rather sappy. Wait for it on DVD.
