Italy Looks To Pass Law Blocking Climate Crazies From Blocking Roads

It’d be more fun if the law simply allowed citizens stuck in traffic from their cult protests to beat the snot out of them or throw nasty stuff on them

‘Anti-Gandhi law’: Italy seeks to target climate change protestors with prison time

climate cowBlocking a road to protest inaction against climate change could soon be punishable with prison in Italy as Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s hard-right government cracks down on demonstrations, even peaceful ones.

A new security law passed by MPs and facing final scrutiny in the Senate has been dubbed the “anti-Gandhi” law — after pacifist Indian independence hero Mahatma Gandhi — by critics for taking aim at demonstrations by people ranging from prisoners to climate activists.

It is specifically aimed at protests against two major infrastructure projects — a high-speed, cross-border Turin-Lyon railway to France and a mooted bridge over the Strait of Messina to Sicily — both championed by Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini.

Salvini, who also has responsibility for transport and infrastructure, is a defender of the combustion engine and crusades against “climate terrorism”, particularly the young members of the Last Generation, a climate group known for headline-grabbing protests.

Under the new law, blocking a road outside the authorized route of a demonstration could be punishable by up to two years in prison, up from the current penalty of a fine between 1,000 and 4,000 euros.

Personally, I think this is a little harsh. I’m all for a peaceful protest, no doubt about it. Maybe the law should start with putting those arrested to work doing public service, and escalate from there, unless they’ve blocked emergency service vehicles.

Obviously, the pro-climate nuts folks are against this law, because they want to create lots of problems for Other People. Do the nutty protests even help their cause?

Supposed New Hezbollah Head Presumed Exploded

At this point, does anyone want to become a big wig in Hezbollah and Hamas? Because Israel keeps bumping them off with impunity

Nasrallah’s presumed successor Hashem Safieddine killed in Israeli strike in Beirut – Al Hadath

Hashem Safieddine, the presumed successor of former Hezbollah secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah, was killed along with those with him in an Israeli strike in southern Beirut on Friday, the Saudi news organization Al Hadath reported on Saturday morning.

The Saudi outlet claimed that Israel had confirmed the elimination, but The Jerusalem Post has not yet been able to verify the Saudi report.

A Lebanese security source told Reuters that Safieddine was “unreachable” since Israel struck the area on Friday. Additionally, according to three security officials, repeated Israeli strikes have blocked rescuers from searching the site where Safieddine was believed to be.

Israeli media estimated that Safieddine was wounded in the attack, but there is still no official information regarding his fate.

The assessment, similarly to Nasrallah’s case, is that anyone in the underground complex would not make it out alive, including senior Hezbollah officials that were present in the complex, Kan reported.

Is he finding out if the 72 virgins thing is correct? Well, Sinwar may soon learn

Sinwar, Hamas, have no intention of reaching hostage deal with Israel – NYT

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar reportedly seeks a wider regional war and has hardened his stance on a hostage deal, US officials told the New York Times on Saturday.

Sinwars’ attitude has “hardened in recent weeks,” US officials told NYT, and they believe that Hamas currently has no intention of reaching a hostage deal with Israel.

These US officials said Hamas has not shown any engagement or desire to continue talks in recent weeks. US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller, while speaking at press briefings on Tuesday and Wednesday, stated that Hamas has refused to take part in hostage deal negotiations over the past several weeks.

If that’s the case, then Sinwars’ usefulness may have come to an end. Israel may very well say “he’s not needed anymore” and wack him.

Biden Opposes Israel Striking Iran’s Oil Fields

During the first Friday press conference of his presidency, President Joe Biden has indicated that he opposes any attacks on Iran’s oil fields, as a retaliatory strike by Israel appears imminent.

“The Israelis have not concluded what they are going to do. That’s under discussion. If I were in their shoes, I would be thinking about other alternatives than striking Iranian oil fields,” Biden said in a press conference at the White House.

You mean the oil fields which make Iran a lot of money, particularly after Biden-Harris removed all those sanctions? And then use the money to attack Israel and America? Biden just needs to keep his mouth shut, he’s not helping.

Biden also yammered about Israel not hitting Iran’s nuclear program, which is designed to produce weapons, not power

‘Hit the nuclear first and worry about the rest later’: Trump urges Israel to strike Iran

Former president Donald Trump stated that Israel should target Iran’s nuclear facilities while speaking at a campaign event in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on Friday.

Trump’s comments came in response to US President Joe Biden’s earlier statements cautioning Israel against striking Iranian nuclear facilities.

Wouldn’t be the first time. Hey, maybe this time Israel will simply decapitate Iran’s government, from Khamenei down.

Totally Sane: Climate Cultists “Drown” Themselves

This is totally normal behavior, right? These are totally not people crying out for a 5150 hold, right?

From the article

Climate change activists pretended to drown themselves in oil and gas in a nightmarish protest outside a United Nations agency in London on Friday, gory photos of the stunt show.

The Ocean Rebellion campaigners staged the frightening demonstration on the steps of the International Maritime Organization — the UN agency responsible for regulating maritime transport.

Footage showed one activist, dressed as an “ocean goddess,” donning a fish bowl over her head as another poured in fake black oil to make it appear as if she was drowning.

The woman could be seen screaming as the liquid engulfed her face before it quickly drained from the bowl.

Others around her wore gas masks and brandished petrol pumps with flames spouting out of them.

What could have possibly gone wrong? Oh, and do they realize that most of their clothes, shoes, crazy props, etc, were made with and/or shipped with petroleum?

Yup, sane.

Ft. Liberty Troops Heading To Western NC At Some Point

What’s taking so long? Why are they not already there a week later?

1,000 Fort Liberty soldiers deploy to western NC

One-thousand soldiers from Fort Liberty’s Infantry Battalion Task Force are heading to western North Carolina to help with recovery efforts.

During his visit to North Carolina on Wednesday, President Joe Biden announced that the troops will join the North Carolina National Guard in delivering supplies, food and water to isolated communities.

Soldiers at Fort Liberty have been preparing for the past week for a possible deployment to western North Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Helene. The soldiers are from the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, part of the 82nd Airborne Division. Other units, including engineers and Army communicators, are on standby for deployment.

Photos shared by the Department of Defense (DoD) show soldiers at Fort Liberty loading vehicles with equipment and supplies, ready to deploy.

Why were they not ready last week before the storm? Everyone knew there would be damage. Most didn’t think it would be this bad, but, they knew it would be bad. It was raining hard for days. Remember, the Bush43 admin had military, FEMA, and aid units pre-positioned before Katrina made landfall. And, here we have them talking about “will join.” When? Does no one in the news media know how to ask questions and demand answers? Why are engineers not being deployed? ABC11 Raleigh isn’t even running a current story. CBS17 writes

Soldiers, equipment and resources from Fort Liberty headed out to western North Carolina Thursday to assist with the N.C. National Guard and Federal Emergency Management Agency with Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.

But, did they? Cruising through a bunch of news outlets in Greensboro, Charlotte, and other cities, there are almost no stories on them actually moving to the mountains. You’d think this would be big news, right? That news outlets would do their job and check up? Wonder why it’s taken so long? If Trump was president they’d be roasting him right now, and he’d deserve it.

Duke Energy substation in WNC needs to be rebuilt due to damage from Helene amid power outages

Around 200,000 Duke Energy customers in western North Carolina still have no power after Helene swept through the area last week.

ABC affiliate WLOS reported the substation Swannanoa River Road, powering customers in the Biltmore Village area, is surrounded by rubble.

He said the substation will need to be torn down and rebuilt over the next three to four months. The energy company will be installing a temporary substation in the meantime.

It’s not just poles and wires. You have all these small and big stations that are damaged, and it’s not like a built up suburban/urban area. These are towns generally separated far from other town, with people on the outskirts and miles away.

In The Future We’ll All Charge Up Like We’re At An Airport Lounge Or Something

By “we”, I mean all of us peasants, not the Elites forcing us to get an EV. The Elites will be in big fossil fueled luxury vehicles

The Future of EV Charging Looks a Lot Like an Airport Lounge

Electric vehicleCharging an electric vehicle in the future increasingly looks like an experience somewhere between a truck stop and an airport lounge.

Most public chargers sit in parking lots, often three or four machines along the side of a hotel or grocery store. Drivers are exposed to the elements and — unless they need to go shopping — are basically stuck hanging out in their cars while filling their batteries.

But charging companies and automakers increasingly see a need for stations with amenities: restaurants, good bathrooms, comfortable furniture, and canopies that shield from the rain, snow and sun. After all, even the fastest chargers need a half-hour to top off your car — so you’d better enjoy the stay. The additional convenience could entice would-be EV drivers to take the plunge, adding fuel to the electric transition.

Two points: you really save money when you can charge at home. If you’re charging out and about the cost is pretty much like buying $3+ gas. Second, have they heard of places like Sheetz and Buc-ees? There are plenty of places out there. But, do you really want to constantly have to sit around at them? If the people investing in chargers, like the government, they would focus on putting chargers in at already existing places. Maybe Mayor Pete could have built more than 8 so far

This summer, Rivian Automotive Inc. turned a former blacksmith shop outside Yosemite National Park into a recharging lounge where drivers can sip free coffee while making their own trail mix from an ingredients bar. Or they can sprawl out on furniture made from used sleeping bags and browse books in an onsite library. There’s even a wall-sized display of climbing routes of Yosemite’s famed El Capitan rockface.

Eeewwww. Used sleeping bags? Yuck. In fairness, all 6 are CSS1 and fast chargers.

“Over time, charging is expected to become like the gas station model where you make little margin on the fuel, but profit on the other services provided,” Daoud said. “Ultimately, it’ll have to be paired with a convenience store to help improve the economics.”

Sounds fun sitting around, eh? Because that is what people will have to do unless they have a house they can install a Level 2 charger.

According to a 2022 BloombergNEF report, the global average cost of a 350-kilowatt fast charger is about $77,000, though the US is pricier. “Excluding Tesla, the US is the most expensive region for hardware,” BNEF analyst Ryan Fisher said, noting the rough cost is $150,000 per fast charger alone, including the hardware, grid and civils. He added that BNEF will have a full update of the 2022 analysis later this year.

How many want to install them at that cost when it will take a long time to recoup the investment?

Anti-Semitism: Many Dutch Police Refuse To Protect Jews

These same police seem to have no problem protecting Islamic extremists and those espousing Jew hatred

Dutch police refuse to guard Jewish sites over ‘moral dilemmas,’ officers say

Officers in the Dutch police force have been refusing to protect Jewish targets, two officers told Nieuw Israëlisch Weekblad earlier this week.

Marcel de Weerd and Michel Theeboom, representing the Jewish Police Network, expressed concerns over changes they were seeing in the force.

“There are colleagues who no longer want to protect Jewish targets or events. They talk about ‘moral dilemmas,’ and I see a tendency emerging to give in to that. That would truly mark the beginning of the end. I’m concerned about that,” Theeboom said. (snip)

The officers later spoke with De Telegraaf, where they said that some members of the police expressed they didn’t want to be deployed at the Dutch National Holocaust Museum in Amsterdam and refused food and drinks from the venue.

Mireille Beentjes, the police force’s spokeswoman, told De Telegraaf she had heard of officers making moral objections, admitting there were “no strict policies.”

“We take moral objections into account when creating schedules. But if there’s an urgent task, you will be deployed, whether you want to or not,” she said. “You are expected to behave professionally. Others shouldn’t notice anything.”

What “moral objections”? They joined to do a job. They do not get to pick and choose whom or what they protect. Will these same officers refuse to protect Jews being attacked? If they do not want to do the job then they should be put on desk duty or fired. Would the force allow officers to have “moral objections” to protecting blacks or Asians or Muslims and take that into account when creating schedules?

And over in the UK

Met warned over two-tier policing amid anti-Semitic graffiti campaign

The Metropolitan Police risks accusations of “two-tiered policing” over an anti-Semitic campaign of vandalism across London, MPs have warned.

Ten Tory MPs have written to Sir Mark Rowley, the Met Commissioner, warning that the force could be criticised unless it cracks down on alleged graffiti and criminal damage by the campaign group London Creatives Corporate Watchdog (LCCW).

The group has been accredited with an attack on one of London’s oldest cinemas, the Phoenix in East Finchley, north London, where it was covered in red graffiti saying: “Say no to artwashing.”

The incident is being investigated by the Met as a hate crime.

But

They have warned Sir Mark that failure to grapple with these crimes in a manner commensurate with the response to the summer riots will mean the British public “rightly conclude that there is a system of two-tiered policing and justice in this country, in which some groups are treated more harshly than others”.

In other words, the Met isn’t taking it as seriously as other criminal acts because Jews are being attacked, especially since

UK Anti-Semitic Incidents Hit Record High Since October 7: Charity

The UK saw a record number of anti-Semitic incidents in the year since Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel, a Jewish charity said Wednesday.

The Community Security Trust (CST), which monitors anti-Semitism in Britain, recorded 5,583 such incidents from October 7 until September 30 — its highest 12-month tally since it began its count in 1984.

It represented a 204-percent increase on the 1,830 incidents recorded in the prior year-long period.

“When conflict rages in Israel, anti-Jewish hate rises in the UK,” CST said on X, alongside a breakdown of its figures.

Well, the UK is being taking over by Islamists, so, it is no surprise.

Surprise: Pioneer In Carbon Offsets Charged With Massive Fraud

Seriously, the entire thing is a scam, and, this guy proved it

Carbon Offset Pioneer Charged With $100 Million Fraud Scheme

A pioneer in developing carbon offsets was accused by federal prosecutors of faking emissions-reduction data as part of a scheme to obtain millions of carbon credits and secure more than $100 million in investment.

Former C-Quest Capital LLC Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Newcombe, who stepped down as CEO in February, was indicted Wednesday in New York on wire fraud and commodities fraud charges. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted on the most serious charges.

C-Quest develops emission-reduction projects to earn carbon credits that can then be sold to companies or other entities that wish to offset their own emissions. Newcombe, a onetime Goldman Sachs Group Inc. managing director and World Bank official, founded C-Quest in 2008. (snip)

Prosecutors claim Newcombe and other C-Quest employees manipulated data to make it seem that certain of the firm’s projects were more successful than they actually were. Many of its projects involved providing cooking stoves in African and Asian countries that were touted as lowering emissions. Newcombe allegedly sought aggressive growth in these projects but also covered up data showing they reduced emissions by a lower amount than anticipated.

Who’s surprised? The whole thing is a scam. We hear all the time about no one really knowing what happens with the money when they buy carbon credits/offsets. Are they really planting trees? Really making a difference? Or, living high on the hog with money from climate cult dupes? It sounds like all those in Scientology who are forced to buy more and more expensive books to move up. It looks like this scam was beyond even what the government can ignore.

Or, maybe Newcombe and the other employees who were busted (Tridip Goswami is in India, and will be in trouble, and former Chief Operating Officer Jason Steele has plead guilty and will work with the government) made the mistake of crossing the wrong people in the government and we’ve seen how that works under the Biden-Harris regime.

Good News: FEMA’s Out Of Money Because They Spent It On Illegals/Migrants

Are North Carolinians realizing that the Biden-Harris administration cares way more about foreigners than you? Do all the Democrats in Watauga County (where Boone is) and Buncombe County (where Asheville is) who constantly vote Democrat realize that the Elite Democrats couldn’t care less about Americans? How about all the Dem voters (about 30% are) scattered throughout western NC? Or the ones in the rest of NC who know people who lost everything and are being offered $750? Or know someone who was injured, missing, or killed? Or just know and love the area?

Feds say there’s no money left to respond to hurricanes — after FEMA spent $1.4B on migrants

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas set off outrage Wednesday when he told reporters that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) “does not have the funds” to see Americans through the rest of this Atlantic hurricane season — after the agency spent more than $1.4 billion since the fall of 2022 to address the migrant crisis.

“We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have,” Mayorkas said during a press gaggle on Air Force One en route to tour damage from Hurricane Helene in South and North Carolina.

“We are expecting another hurricane hitting,” he added. “We do not have the funds. FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season and what — what is imminent.”

Critics pointed out that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) allocated $640.9 million this year in FEMA-administered funds to aid state and local governments coping with the influx of asylum seekers — though Mayorkas’ office fired back late Thursday, insisting that those funds couldn’t be used for hurricane relief because Congress authorized them specifically for the migrant crisis.

“This is easy. Mayorkas and FEMA — immediately stop spending money on illegal immigration resettlement and redirect those funds to areas hit by the hurricane. Put Americans first,” Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted Wednesday in response to the DHS chief.

How about we take all those billions of dollars for building EV chargers (only 8 built) and rural internet (no one connected) and use it for the affected Americans? It may not fully help in rebuilding, but, it would damned sure help aid them now and for months to come. We give illegals/migrants $4000 a month and free room and board, but, Americans get $750. Once. They’re getting Maui’d.

Meanwhile

There are way too many reports of things like this, as well relief and rescue vehicles and helicopters being stopped. Why is FEMA doing this? They are there for coordination, not law enforcement.

What might be a conspiracy theory, my own, is that Biden is doing this to sabotage Kamala after he was booted out of the race.
