EPA head Lee Zeldin reveals no real oversight of shocking $20B that Biden admin funneled through Citibank: ‘Tip of the iceberg’

A $20 billion Biden administration green-energy slush fund was collecting interest at a private bank and is being distributed without proper oversight, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin reveals in an exclusive interview.

President Joe Biden’s EPA parked $20 billion at the financial institution, which The Post has learned is Citibank, as part of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. But the awardees weren’t announced until August 2024 and Citibank was not brought in until September — after Biden’s disastrous June debate performance led him to withdraw from his re-election effort in July, making for a very different race with Vice President Kamala Harris the Democratic nominee.

Zeldin’s team is looking into whether former EPA employees are working at any of the grantees, which include the Opportunity Finance Network (receiving $2.29 billion), where vice president Laura Silverman says she brings “economic, financial, and social justice to communities,” and the Native CDFI Network ($400 million), which has featured Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) as a speaker. Power Forward Communities, a $2 billion recipient, has no list of employees on its website — but does have openings for government affairs VP, communications VP and special assistant.

The others: Climate United Fund (which got the biggest grant, nearly $7 billion), Coalition for Green Capital ($5 billion), Inclusiv ($1.87 billion), Justice Climate Fund ($940 million) and Appalachian Community Capital ($500 million).

Here Lee Zeldin tells The Post’s Kelly Jane Torrance why it was “a high priority for me and my great team to get to the bottom of these questions as quickly as possible.”

You can read the rest at the NY Post link above, but, really, this is bad government at it’s worst: taking taxpayer money and just handing it out to outside groups to do with it as they will. No oversight. Full on cronyism. What did they do with the money? No one knows. And, seriously, there is so much malfeasance, possibly criminal behavior, including defrauding the federal government, where to start? Because where does it end? In this case, it might be worthwhile to just follow this to the end, rather than jumping here and there and everywhere the money went from, in this case, the EPA. Make examples out of groups, their employees, and federal employees. Focus on this like investigators on a serial killer.

ICE Arrests Venezuelan Gang Member In Raleigh

ICE agents arrest suspected member of violent Venezuelan gang in Raleigh

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement carried out a raid in Raleigh over the weekend they say nabbed a suspected member of violent prison gang from Venezuela.

Ricardo Granadillo-Padilla, 24, was taken into custody on Saturday. Wake County jail records show he was being held on a federal detainer. It’s not clear if he’s still in custody locally or was transferred to an ICE holding facility in Alamance County.

The raid, according to ICE, also involved the U.S. Marshals Service. Aside from Grandadillo-Padilla, officers say the found a handgun, ammunition and 10 other Venezuelan nationals.

WRAL News asked federal and local authorities specifically where the raid took place, and whether any of the other people in the home were taken into custody. So far, those authorities have not answered those questions.

In announcing the arrest, ICE said Granadillo-Padilla is a suspected member of the Tren de Aragua gang but did not provide a mug shot.

They’re spreading around the nation

ICE agents also say Granadillo-Padilla is a suspect in a mass shooting in Chicago.

ICE has not released more details about that mass shooting, but WRAL News found unsolved shootings from February and December of last year.

The arrest warrant obtained by WRAL shows Granadillo-Padilla was wanted on federal charges for illegal entry into the United States when he crossed the border near El Paso, Texas, Oct. 1, 2022. He was paroled and then failed to show up for his immigration appointment scheduled on Sept. 12, 2024.

He came in when the border was over-run with too many illegals, so, a violent gang member was simply let go, and then “reportedly” shot a bunch of people in Sanctuary City Chicago. How many others are out there? The Biden-Harris admin had no interest in arresting gang members.

Trump’s State Department to Designate Specific Cartels as Foreign Terrorist Groups

The Trump administration is preparing to designate a series of Mexican drug cartels and two from Central and South America as foreign terrorist organizations. The move comes as Mexico continues to experience unprecedented levels of violence, including the widespread use of landmines and improvised explosive devices, despite empty government claims that crime has decreased and impunity has ended.

A document reviewed by Breitbart Texas revealed that the U.S. State Department is expected to designate the Sinaloa Cartel, Cartel Jalisco New Generation, The Gulf Cartel, The Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas (Northeast Cartel), Carteles Unidos, and Familia Michoacana as foreign terrorist organizations on February 19.

The designation would include the Central American gang Mara Salvatrucha and the South American Tren De Aragua.

The move follows an executive order signed on January 20 by U.S. President Donald Trump that calls for designating cartels as terrorist organizations and for their complete eradication.

Will this upset Democrats? They seem to support every illegal, and, really, have a kneejerk reaction to oppose everything Trump does.

Climate change is turning Valentine’s Day bitter for chocolate lovers

If you’re not a fan of nuts in your sweets, Valentine’s Day could cost you more this year. The chocolates inside many of this holiday’s heart-shaped boxes will likely contain more filler ingredients like nuts and fruits to offset the cost of pure chocolate.

“We used to look at hazelnuts and pistachio as an expensive inclusion,” said Jacques Torres, a chocolatier with high-end shops in New York City. “Today, those nuts allow us to lower the cost of our chocolate bar.”

The price of raw cocoa, chocolate’s key ingredient, has surged by 200% over the past year, according to Adobe Analytics, which tracks online retail prices. On global commodities markets, cocoa futures are down slightly in recent weeks after peaking above $12,000 per ton — a record — just before Christmas. Two years ago, they were less than $2,500.

Weather never used to happen, you know

The Wells Fargo researchers estimate the cocoa supply deficit is now the worst it’s been in 60 years, standing at negative 478,000 metric tons. The crunch is triggering doubts about festivities beyond Valentine’s Day.

Wait, so, this has happened before? And it happened during a downturn in global temperatures, when they were worried about a coming global ice age? Huh. Interesting, The news station known as NBC failed to mention things like

Surprise: HHS Wasted $22 Billion On Getting Cars And Homes For Fake Asylum Seekers

Report: HHS Squandered More than $22 Billion on Migrants for Vehicles, Home Loans, Startups

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) reportedly increased grants for migrants from 2020 to 2024, spending more than $22 billion in taxpayer dollars on grants that included money going toward vehicles, home loans, and startup businesses.

The agency’s Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), handed out $22.6 billion to a host of nonprofits, effectively acting as a “giant magnet” for migrants crossing the U.S. border and claiming asylum, auditors from OpenTheBooks told New York Post.

The amount of noncitizens eligible to obtain funding that derived from ORR under the majority of former President Joe Biden’s administration soared significantly, with more than $10 billion handed out to grant-receiving organizations in just 2023 alone, the outlet noted.

Non-government organizations swindled up to $1.7 billion from U.S. taxpayers for services “including dollar-for-dollar matching savings plans for cars, homes, college educations or startups; small-business loans of up to $15,000; loans to repair credit history of up to $1,500; ‘cultural orientation,’ ’emergency housing support,’ legal assistance, and Medicaid care,” New York Post reported.

But most of the funding went toward unaccompanied migrant children — committing $12.4 billion over five years — despite whistleblowers sounding the alarm and calling out ORR for handing over many of nearly 300,000 children in its care to unvetted and sometimes even abusive sponsors.

And how much of that money disappeared into the pockets of the folks at those NGOs? See, what DOGE and the rest of the Trump admin have been finding out is just the tip of the iceberg. There needs to be an accounting of what happened to that money after it was given to the unaccountable outside organizations. How much made it to the “migrants”, how much went to overhead, how much disappeared? Realistically, the answer to all should have been $0. Will it all be audited?

The watchdog organization also pointed out that Church World Services and the International Rescue Committee were two of the top groups that received funds over the last four years.

Strikingly, since 2020, Church World Services bagged $355 million in grants, while the International Rescue Committee netted $598 million.

Interestingly, Robin Dunn Marcos — a senior HHS official who oversaw ORR program during some of that time — previously worked at both Church World Services and the International Rescue Committee for more than 30 years combined, a revelation that OpenTheBooks said represents a conflict of interest.

Obama’s Ivanpah Solar Plant On Way To Closure, A “Financial Boondoggle”

Energy experts blast failed billion-dollar DOE project as ‘financial boondoggle,’ ‘disaster’

A major solar power plant project that was granted over a billion dollars in federal loans is on the road to closure, with energy experts blasting the project as a “boondoggle” that harmed the environment.

In 2011, the US Department of Energy (DOE) under former President Barack Obama issued $1.6 billion in loan guarantees to finance the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility, a green energy project that consists of three solar concentrating thermal power plants in California.

The facility was touted by then-Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz as an “example of how America is becoming a world leader in solar energy.”

But after 10 years, the federally funded plant is now on track to close.

“Ivanpah is yet another failed green energy boondoggle, much like Solyndra,” Jason Isaac, CEO of the American Energy Institute, an American energy advocacy group, told Fox News Digital in a statement. “Despite receiving $1.6 billion in federal loan guarantees, it never lived up to its promises, producing less electricity than expected while still relying on natural gas to stay operational.”

“Now, with its power contracts canceled, Ivanpah stands as a testament to the waste and inefficiency of government-subsidized energy schemes,” Isaac said.

Now it will be a monument to cult stupidity, rotting away in the desert

“The Ivanpah plant was a financial boondoggle and environmental disaster,” Julia Dowell of the Sierra Club, an environmental activism group, said of the power plant.

“Along with killing thousands of birds and tortoises, the project’s construction destroyed irreplaceable pristine desert habitat along with numerous rare plant species,” Dowell said. “While the Sierra Club strongly supports innovative clean energy solutions and recognizes the urgent need to transition away from fossil fuels, Ivanpah demonstrated that not all renewable technologies are created equal.”

If even the Warmist Sierra Club is against it, it must be bad. Like, this bad

Democrats Push For Harder Resistance To Trump As Moonbat Apoplexy Mounts Or Something

Democrats push for tougher resistance to Trump as anger mounts

Democrats are starting to push for a stronger response to President Trump as his policies fuel anger with the party’s base.

Members of the party believe Trump has enjoyed a honeymoon period during his first month in office as Democrats have so far failed to coalesce around a unified counter-message — but at least some of them want that to change.

As frustration grows over Trump’s actions, including his efforts to dismantle parts of the federal government, some in the party are voicing the need to get tougher.

“He’s pushing the boundaries of a system as far as they can go,” said one Democrat who works for an outside organization planning to take action as part of the burgeoning new resistance.

“This guy is doing some crazy s–t,” a second Democrat, who is also involved in planning efforts, added. “This isn’t jamming through a nominee. This is when it starts to be alarming.”

Are you sure you really, really want to do this?

But less than a month into Trump’s return to the Oval Office, Democrats say a different kind of movement is emerging. Strategist Anthony Coley, who worked in the Biden administration, acknowledged the frustration among Democrats.

“The first phase of the last the weeks was Democrats being really gun-shy,” Coley said. “Now folks are really, really tired and can’t sit back and watch him destroy the country that we love without any pushback at all. That’s the phase we’re in now.”

You keep fighting for your crazy and against sanity, Dems. Keep dying on Moonbat Hill.

That slow burn hasn’t been working, liberals agree, and are starting to try newer ways to call out Trump. Some are looking to the grassroots for reliable messengers. By doing so, they’ve frustrated centrist Democrats on Capitol Hill who have reportedly taken issue with leading activist-minded groups like MoveOn and Indivisible who want a more aggressive approach than what the party is currently pushing.

Bummer: Warmist Is Burnt Out Trying To Save The World

The world is on fire and I’m burnt out trying to save it

I was supposed to be named Isabel, but after Hurricane Isabel – one of the deadliest hurricanes in recorded history – my parents quickly changed their minds. They decided on Brianna instead.

Growing up in an extremely climate-conscious family, we were the neighbors on the corner handing out used toys instead of candy on Halloween. Living a sustainable lifestyle was something instilled in me from a young age. (snip)

Four years later, after taking several classes for my minor in Sustainable Environments, I realized how much more difficult it is for society to embrace sustainable living than I ever imagined. What seemed so natural and attainable within my household feels like an impossible challenge when trying to convince an entire country – let alone the world – that climate change is real and poses a tangible, scientific threat to humanity. It’s shocking that some people still can’t or won’t acknowledge this reality.

After spending four years in college participating in sustainability-related activities, I find myself burnt out. My passion still shines through in many aspects of my daily life, but the fire that once burned so brightly within me has started to fade.

I originally just wanted to laugh at her, but, really, this is sad. And you realize that older people in her life just mentally screwed her. Messed her up. This is as bad as a cult messing up the minds of children.

As a final message to those experiencing climate change burnout: remember that what you’re doing is enough. Climate change is a deeply systemic issue, and meaningful change can only happen when political leaders take accountability and implement the steps necessary to create a sustainable planet.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the uncertainty of our future, but know this: we may not be able to extinguish every fire, but we can keep the flame of hope alive. That resilience, that hope, is what’s truly worth fighting for!

The brainwashing has made these youts think that the appropriate response is to give one’s freedom to government, and get government to take everyone else’s freedom.

LOL: AG Pam Bondi Sues NY, Gov. Hochul, And Others Over Illegal Alien Support

Department of Justice suing New York, top officials over immigration policies

The Justice Department is taking legal action against the state of New York and Gov. Kathy Hochul, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Wednesday, over its alleged resistance to supporting the Trump Administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

The new attorney general delivered heated remarks announcing a new lawsuit against New York state and top officials, claiming they were resisting federal efforts to enforce the nation’s immigration laws.

“This is a new DOJ,” Bondi said. “We sued Illinois. New York did not listen, now you’re next.”

She then brought up a woman whose 20-year-old daughter was raped and killed by a member of MS-13 in 2022.

The civil complaint was not immediately available to reporters at the news conference, but Bondi said the lawsuit was centered around New York’s Green Light Law that she claimed prohibits the state’s sheriff’s department and other agencies from sharing motor vehicle data with federal authorities for purposes of immigration enforcement.

“They have a ‘tip-off’ provision that requires New York’s DMV commissioner to promptly inform any illegal alien when a federal immigration agency has requested their information,” Bondi said. “It’s tipping off an illegal alien. And it’s unconstitutional, and that’s why we filed this lawsuit.”

I’m not sure about unconstitutional, but, it sure is in violation of multiple federal laws on illegal immigration, including on sheltering, harboring, etc.

It didn’t take long for New York officials and city organizations to fire back in response to the lawsuit.

New York Attorney General Letitia James released a statement, saying, “Our state laws, including the Green Light law, protect the rights of all New Yorkers and keep our communities safe. I am prepared to defend our laws, just as I always have.”

We were told that Los Federales have primary control over immigration, like when they were suing Arizona over SB1070 law. And, in this case, federal law does take precedence, since the Constitution does give the power of immigration to the Legislative Branch and they passed laws. So, maybe what NY is doing is unconstitutional. And James, who was named in the suit, will soon find out along with the others.
