Climate change could spark outbreaks of DIARRHOEA in Britain, scientists warn

From the unprecedented heatwave in 2022 to the deadly Storm Eowyn just this month, climate change is already wreaking havoc on Britain’s weather.

Now, a study has revealed that humans could be next in the firing line.

Scientists from the University of Surrey say that climate change could spark outbreaks of diarrhoea in Britain.

In their study, the team found a clear link between warmer conditions and more salmonella cases in England and Wales.
Symptoms of salmonella infections include diarrhoea and stomach cramps, as well as vomiting and fever.

Infection is usually caused by eating raw or undercooked meat, poultry, and eggs or egg products or by drinking unpasteurized milk.

However, the scientists now say there’s increasing evidence weather plays a ‘crucial role’ in the transmission of the bacteria.

Sure. Now, let’s go back to the beginning of the Little Ice Age, around 1347, when the world was hit with a massive outbreak of bubonic plague which killed around 50 million. Population levels took till the 1500s. Which also saw an outbreak, though, not as bad.

The study compared UK Health Security Agency data of confirmed salmonella cases in England and Wales between 2000 and 2016 with Met Office weather data from the same period.

So, a simple 16 year period of time? Have they compared it to previous Holocene Warm periods?

The researchers admit that they cannot be sure of causation – in other words, that the climate variables are causing the rise of salmonella infection.

So, basically the whole article and everything the scientists were saying about climate doom is all for naught?

Trump Admin To Send Criminal Illegals To Gitmo

Defense Secretary Hegseth says Guantanamo Bay is ‘perfect place’ to hold migrants ‘safely in the interim’

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the United States will “humanely move” criminal migrants out of the country and work with other agencies to secure the southern border in his first interview since he was confirmed last week by the U.S. Senate.

Hegseth, a former “Fox & Friends Weekend” co-host, addressed President Donald Trump’s memorandum to the Departments of Homeland Security (DHS) and Defense (DOD), calling on them to prepare a 30,000-person migrant facility at Guantanamo Bay, a U.S. Naval base in Cuba.

He told Fox News host Will Cain Wednesday that Guantanamo Bay is a “perfect place” to hold criminal migrants “safely in the interim” as the process to repatriate them to their homelands plays out. (snip)

Hegseth clarified that criminal migrants aren’t being put in camps with “ISIS and other criminals.”

“This is a temporary transit, which is already the mission of naval station Guantanamo Bay, where we can plus up thousands and tens of thousands if necessary, to humanely move illegals out of our country where they do not belong, back to the countries where they came from in proper process,” Hegseth said on “The Will Cain Show.”

Good. Get them out of the U.S. If they want to escape then Cuba can have them. Get them out pending repatriation to their home country. And, if their home country isn’t willing, they can laze about at Club Gitmo. This will be a good deterrent for those who are thinking of coming to the U.S., and those who haven’t been caught yet. Maybe we could build a facility on an uninhabited island off the coast of Alaska, let them chill in the cold and snow.

Global Boiling Is Totally Speeding Up Or Something

Climate change is speeding up, study of ocean warming reveals

Earth’s oceans are getting warmer at an accelerating rate, researchers find — indicating that climate change is speeding up too.

The scientists found that ocean warming has more than quadrupled over the past 40 years and is likely to accelerate even faster in the future. The researchers published their findings in a new study published Tuesday (Jan. 28) in the journal Environmental Research Letters.

The rate of sea surface temperature warming has risen from 0.1 degrees Fahrenheit (0.06 degrees Celsius) per decade in the 1980s to 0.5 F (0.27 C) per decade today. The team’s modeling suggests that this amount of accelerated warming will occur again in the next two decades and accelerate by an even greater margin if we don’t address the causes of climate change and move away from fossil fuels, according to the study.

And there it is: models. Not data, models. And, look, even if it is accelerating, that doesn’t mean anthropogenic causation: just warming. But, since this is a cult, there’s no need to prove anything.

Why Climate-Change Ideology Is Dying

Momentous social movements begin to die the moment adherents figure out their leaders don’t believe what they say. Liberal Protestantism’s long decline started in the 1950s, when congregants began to wonder if their ministers still believed the old creeds (they didn’t). Communism dies wherever it’s tried because sooner or later the proletariat realize their self-appointed champions aren’t particularly interested in equality. Many sects and cults dwindle the moment their supposedly ascetic leaders are revealed to be libertines.

Something similar is happening to climate ideology.

For three decades you were labeled a crank, a “climate denier,” someone who pigheadedly rejects “settled science,” if you didn’t embrace the belief that life on earth faces imminent extinction from “global warming” and, later, “climate change.” The possibility that an entire academic discipline, climate science, could have gone badly amiss by groupthink and self-flattery wasn’t thought possible. In many quarters this orthodoxy still reigns unquestioned.

The cultists will not let it. It will keep coming back. The disciples will make sure their voices are heard since the news media is on their side, along with politicians. They will never stop.

Trump Signs Even More Orders For The Military

He’s still working hard to make the U.S. military the lethal fighting machine it is meant to be, not a social experiment breeding ground for crazy leftists

Trump signs 4 new executive orders, transforming military

President Trump signed a bevy of new executive orders Monday evening that have the potential to significantly transform the Defense Department (DOD).

The new orders prevent transgender people from openly serving in the military, greenlight the process of developing a missile defense shield to protect the U.S., and reinstate service members that voluntarily left or were forced out of the military over COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

Trump also penned an expected executive order that would “abolish” every diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) office within the DOD and Department of Homeland Security, the latter of which houses the U.S. Coast Guard. All four were signed late Monday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s first formal day in office.

The president revoked an executive order from his predecessor, former President Biden, penned in 2021 that allowed transgender people to serve in the military. He also directed Hegseth to set new military preparedness requirements.

Trump said “expressing a false ‘gender identity’ divergent from an individual’s sex cannot satisfy the rigorous standards necessary for military service.”

There might well be some transgenders who want to serve and fight and protect the U.S., but, it sure looks like most are there for free surgeries and medications, while pushing their own crazy agenda on the military and everyone. And, since they have much worse mental health than others, and suicidal thoughts, it’s not a great idea to have them around military grade weapons.

The order directs the Defense Department to begin forging sketches for “an Iron Dome for America,” a missile defense system that would protect Americans from potential “ballistic, hypersonic, cruise missiles” and other space-based attacks from “peer, near-peer and rogue adversaries.” The project was discussed during the Reagan administration but was never developed.

I just wonder how Democrats will attack this, an initiative meant to protect the U.S. as our enemies develop more and better and faster missiles.

One thing: as Trump and Hegseth get rid of DEI they need to get rid of most, if not all, of the HR managers, since they tend to create way too many issues, just like they do in the private sector. They drive policy, rather than the military leaders driving it.

Georgia Coastal Snow Totally Means Anthropogenic Climate Change

Coastal Georgia snow likely a result, not a refutation of climate change

Last year was a hot one in Georgia but last week’s snow is not evidence we’re headed in a different direction, Georgia scientists say.

“Overall, 2024 was the 2nd warmest year in Georgia on a record extending back to 1895,” Eleanor Partington, a climatologist in the Georgia State Climatology office wrote in the 2024 Climate Summary for Georgia.

“These above-average temperatures are likely due to climate change,” Partington wrote in an email to The Current. “Although year-to-year variation in temperatures can be a result of many variables, such as ENSO, 2024 fits within the multi-decade warming trend that is a result of climate change.” ENSO refers to the El Niño-Southern Oscillation, a recurring climate pattern involving changes in the temperature of waters in the central and eastern tropical Pacific Ocean that affects weather in large swaths of the U.S.

It’s great how they can essentially blow off long term Earth processes in favor of a cult, eh?

Given all that evidence of warming, how do scientists explain last week’s snow, ice and frigid weather in Coastal Georgia?

Marc Frischer , Professor of Marine Sciences at the University of Georgia, Skidaway Institute of Oceanography saw the snow and freezing temperatures as a “teachable moment.”

“With the extremely cold weather we had last week I was hearing comments from acquaintances (many folks that I play tennis with) about the hoax that climate change was,” he wrote in an email to The Current.

He posted to an explanation to Facebook.

“Your periodic reminder that less ice at the Arctic is consistent with a weaker jet stream that allows cold air to drift down into the Great Plains, the post reads. “The frigid temps you’re experiencing happen because of a warming planet, not despite it.”

Surprise: Biden Admin Knew About The Drones, Were For “Research Purposes”

‘This was not the enemy’: Trump White House says New Jersey drones authorized by FAA

Mysterious drones that hovered over parts of New Jersey late last year were authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration to be flown for research and other purposes and did not pose a national security threat, the White House said Tuesday.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said many of the drones spotted over New Jersey were also flown by hobbyists for recreational purposes.

“In time, it got worse because of curiosity. This was not the enemy,” Leavitt said at the top of her first formal press briefing during which she delivered an update she said came directly from President Donald Trump.

In December, before he was sworn in as president, Trump called for the public to “shoot down” the drones unless the federal government could inform the public on who was controlling them. Without evidence, Trump accused former President Joe Biden of withholding information about the drones from the public.

Well, guess what? Trump was 100 correct! Surprise! Pretty much everyone knew that the American people were not being told the truth. But, seriously, this was a big nothingburger that would have been so, so, so easy to tell the People the truth about. How hard would it have been to just say “all those big drones are ours and completely authorized, don’t worry about it. Enjoy watching them!” But, instead, what we got was obfuscation, misdirection, lying, gaslighting, telling the American people they were worry warts and conspiracy theorists.

And Trump was right. We were all right. You know, I wonder, did Biden do this on purpose? Because it made the Biden administration look really bad, and, guess who was a part of the Biden admin? That’s right, Kamala Harris. Which made Trump look good as he was standing up for the American people. Biden really did want Kamala to lose.

‘Doomsday Clock’ moves closer to midnight amid threats of climate change, nuclear war, pandemics, AI

Earth is moving closer to destruction, a science-oriented advocacy group said Tuesday as it advanced its famous “Doomsday Clock” to 89 seconds till midnight, the closest it has ever been.

The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists made the annual announcement — which rates how close humanity is from ending — citing threats that include climate change, proliferation of nuclear weapons, instability in the Middle East, the threat of pandemics and incorporation of artificial intelligence in military operations.

The clock had stood at 90 seconds to midnight for the past two years and “when you are at this precipice, the one thing you don’t want to do is take a step forward,” said Daniel Holz, chair of the group’s science and security board.

An advocacy group. In other words, activists.

The group said it’s concerned about cooperation between countries such as North Korea, Russia and China in developing nuclear programs. Russia President Vladimir Putin has also talked about using nuclear weapons in his war against Ukraine.

“A lot of the rhetoric is very disturbing,” Holz said. “There is this growing sense that … some nation might end up using nuclear weapons, and that’s terrifying.”

Well, at least they haven’t run with Trump Derangement Syndrome. Yet.

Google To Use Gulf Of America, Mt. McKinley On Updated Maps

Google to change map names for Gulf of Mexico and Denali when US updates them based on Trump order

Google says it will take its cue from the U.S. government if it has to change the names of the Gulf of Mexico and Denali on its maps.

The company said Monday that it will only make changes when the government updates its official listings for the body of water and the mountain.

After taking office, President Donald Trump ordered that the water bordered by the Southern United States, Mexico and Cuba be renamed to the Gulf of America. He also ordered America’s highest mountain peak be changed back to Mt. McKinley.

“We have a longstanding practice of applying name changes when they have been updated in official government sources,” Google said in a post on X.

The company said that Maps will reflect any updates to the Geographic Names Information System, a database of more than 1 million geographic features in the United States.

“When that happens, we will update Google Maps in the U.S. quickly to show Mount McKinley and Gulf of America,” Google said.

What a difference 4 years makes. In 2017 this kind of change would have seen Google proclaiming that they would never make the changes, and there would be tons of Google employees taking to social media with freakout/crying videos. Woke and DEI and Social Justice were all the rage. Expressing Trump Derangement Syndrome was expected from companies. Being Resistant was expected. Now? Just companies being companies, doing the job of companies, particularly after the last four years of the idiocy of the Biden-Harris admin.
