Bolivia becomes first country to sever ties with Israel over war with Hamas

Bolivia has become the first country to cut ties with Israel since the start of its latest conflict with Hamas, with the South American nation’s leftwing government attributing its decision to alleged war crimes and human rights abuses being committed in the Gaza Strip.

The decision was announced at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon by María Nela Prada, a minister in President Luis Arce’s administration. “We demand an end to the attacks on the Gaza Strip which have so far claimed thousands of civilian lives and caused the forced displacement of Palestinians,” the minister told reporters in her country’s de facto capital, La Paz.

Bolivia’s deputy foreign minister, Freddy Mamani Machaca, said the decision represented “a repudiation and condemnation of the aggressive and disproportionate Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip and its threat to international peace and security”.

Bolivia’s move comes after the former president Evo_Morales called for his country to sever ties with Israel because of the “horrific situation facing the Palestinian people”. Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, earlier this month, Morales demanded Israel be classified as a “terrorist state” and for the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and “his accomplices” be denounced to the international criminal court for genocide and war crimes.

Will Bolivia cut off ties with the Palestinians, at least in Gaza? They barely condemned the terrorist attack. This has made the hyper-leftist UK Guardian, who’s support of Palestinians and denouncement of Israel over the years, it’s support of BDS, right up to the line of Jew hatred, very happy. So happy they forget to mention some really important information: Bolovia and the Islamists in Iran are damned good buddies

(US News and World Report) The Argentine government and members of Bolivia’s opposition demanded answers Monday following the sealing of an opaque defense agreement between Iran and Bolivia that raised concerns in South America’s Southern Cone it could be a way for Tehran to boost its influence in the region.

The deal reached last week has particularly raised concerns in Argentina, where prosecutors have long alleged that Iranian officials were behind the 1994 bombing of the AMIA Jewish community center in Buenos Aires that killed 85 people. Iran has denied any involvement in the attack.

I wonder if Bolivia realizes that the Islamist government of Iran still hates Bolivia, and would love to turn it in an Islamist caliphate.

(UK Express) Yemen’s Houthi rebels have entered the war with Israel after it launched drones and missiles at the south of the country earlier today.

The Houthis are part of Iran’s “Axis of Resistance” and have rallied behind Hamas since the October 7 attacks. They have been at war with Yemen’s internationally recognised government since 2014 and control the capital city of Sana’a.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the group launched a “large number” of missiles and drones toward Israel and that it would continue to attack “to help the Palestinians to victory”. While the Houthis have launched missiles at Israel since Tel Aviv declared war on Hamas, this is the first time the group has publicly claimed credit for the attacks.

Funny how, despite the unhinged claiming Trump would start WWIII, things were relatively quiet. With Biden around, everything’s going to crap. And the Jew haters have no problem saying exactly what they believe

Shipping Contributes Heavily to Climate Change. Are Green Ships the Solution?

climate cowOn a bright September day on the harbor in Copenhagen, several hundred people gathered to welcome the official arrival of Laura Maersk.

Laura was not a visiting European dignitary like many of those in attendance. She was a hulking containership, towering a hundred feet above the crowd, and the most visible evidence to date of an effort by the global shipping industry to mitigate its role in the planet’s warming.

The ship, commissioned by the Danish shipping giant Maersk, was designed with a special engine that can burn two types of fuel — either the black, sticky oil that has powered ships for more than a century, or a greener type made from methanol. By switching to green methanol, this single ship will produce 100 fewer tons of greenhouse gas per day, an amount equivalent to the emissions of 8,000 cars.

The effect of global shipping on the climate is hard to overstate. Cargo shipping is responsible for nearly 3 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions — producing roughly as much carbon each year as the aviation industry does.

Figuring out how to limit those emissions has been tricky. Some ships are turning to an age-old strategy: harnessing the wind to move them. But ships still need a more constant source of energy that is powerful enough to propel them halfway around the world in a single go.

No, really? They need constant power? Kinda like citizens forced to deal with unreliable solar and wind?

The Laura Maersk is the first of its kind to set sail with a green methanol engine and represents a significant step in the industry’s efforts to address its contribution to climate change. The vessel is also a vivid illustration of just how far the global shipping sector has to go. While roughly 125 methanol-burning ships are now on order at global shipyards from Maersk and other companies, that is just a tiny portion of the more than 50,000 cargo ships that ply the oceans today, which deliver 90 percent of the world’s traded goods.

Depending on the source, methanol ships can be 12% to 54% more expensive than traditional fossil fuels. I do like that it is a whole lot less polluting than fossil fuels, from an environmental stance, not a climate cult stance. Regardless, this means the cost of goods will go up.

Yet that easy consumption has come at the price of a warmer and dirtier planet. In addition to affecting the atmosphere, ships burning fossil fuel also spew out pollutants that reduce the life expectancy of the large percentage of the world’s people who live near ports, said Teresa Bui, policy director for climate at Pacific Environment, an environmental organization.

That pollution was particularly bad during the Covid-19 pandemic, when supply chain bottlenecks caused ships to pile up outside of the Port of Los Angeles, producing pollution equivalent to nearly 100,000 big rigs per day, she said.

“They have been under regulated for decades,” Ms. Bui said of the shipping industry.

Funny how they always want more government, eh?

But the world today does not yet produce much green methanol. Maersk has committed to using only sustainably produced methanol, but if other shipping companies end up using methanol fuel made with coal or oil, that will be no better for the environment.

Surprise? Plus, there isn’t that much. Which would drive up the price, which would then drive up the price of goods. All for a scam.

Anti-Jew Posts Lead To Police Involvement At Cornell University

A lot of people seem surprised by the Jew hatred, especially on college campuses run and staffed by Democrat voters. Now it’s finally leading to a police response

Calls for raping and killing Jewish students at Cornell bring police response, condemnation

Anti-Semitic threats posted to a Cornell University fraternity and sorority forum over the weekend, including to kill Jews on campus, have prompted a police response and intervention by the governor of New York.

At least one of the posts threatened a shooting of “pig jews” (sic) at Cornell’s Center for Jewish Living and kosher dining hall, according to the university’s Hillel chapter.

The postings are the latest in a series of incidents on college campuses across the nation since the start of the Israel-Hamas war, which followed the terrorist attacks on Oct. 7 that killed more than 1,400 people in Israel and resulted in more than 220 being kidnapped by Hamas and brought to the Gaza Strip.

“Earlier today, a series of horrendous, antisemitic messages threatening violence to our Jewish community and specifically naming 104 West — the home of the Center for Jewish Living — was posted on a website unaffiliated with Cornell,” Cornell President Martha E. Pollack said in a statement Sunday.

Pollack said the FBI had been informed of a potential hate crime, and that the Cornell University Police Department would remain at the Center for Jewish Living to ensure the safety of community members.

Such is the reality for Jews in America, as has been taught in America’s universities. Over the years it went for light-hearted support of Palesinians, wanting to be cool with their protests, to hatred of Israel and Jews. What did they think the whole BDS (boycott, disinvestment, and sanction) movement would lead to? Now college kids look and sound like Nazis and KKK members.

The threats were posted to Cornell’s Greekrank forums on Saturday and Sunday, according to the school newspaper, the Cornell Sun, which said some of the posts eventually were taken down.

The Sun said one post threatened to rape female Jewish students and behead Jewish babies in front of their parents. Another called for students to follow Jewish students home from campus and slit their throats.

Of course, all the previous Jew hatred hasn’t brought much of any condemnation from the school. If calls had been about wiping out Muslims in Gaza and replacing it with a Jewish state those students would have been booted from school already.

“We will not tolerate threats or antisemitism or any kind of hatred that makes people feel vulnerable and exposes people and makes them feel insecure in a place where they should be enjoying their campus life, without fear that someone could cause them harm,” Hochul said.

If the perpetrators are found, she added, “They will be prosecuted. That is the message people across the state need to hear loud and clear. There will be no tolerance here in the State of New York.”

It’s sad that I have to wonder if NY Gov Kathy Hochul is saying this because those people are horrible, or because there are a lot of Jews in the state of NY who vote Democrat and donate a lot of money. Anyhow, free speech ends when one calls for violence and criminality, and whomever sent out those messages should have their names posted, be kicked out of Cornell, and potentially be prosecuted.

UN Head Takes Long Fossil Fueled Flight To Demand That The Madness Stop

Does anyone think he took a commercial flight, followed by some other fossil fueled travel from Kathmandu in the form of prop planes, helicopters, and/or SUVs?

‘Stop the madness’ of climate change, UN chief declares

Nepal has lost almost a third of its ice volume in 30 years, with glaciers melting 65 per cent faster in the last decade than in the previous one.

“The rooftops of the world are caving in,” the UN chief said, warning that the “disappearance of glaciers altogether” looms even larger.

“Glaciers are icy reservoirs – the ones here in the Himalayas supply fresh water to well over a billion people. When they shrink, so do river flows,” he added. (snip)

The Secretary-General said his mission to the Everest region, was to “cry out from the rooftop of the world.”

“Stop the madness,” he emphasized, underscoring the need to end the age of fossil fuel to protect people on the frontlines of climate change induced destruction.

“We must act now to…limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C, to avert the worst of climate chaos. The world can’t wait,” he concluded.

If every member of the Cult of Climastrology went and made their own lives carbon neutral this whole thing would be solved, per their dogma.

You can see a much bigger and wider version at the link. Notice the district: it includes many very high peaks, including Mt. Everest at the border with China. I can’t quite tell if that is Everest in the back, I think it is, but, regardless, it is quite a trek to get from Kathmandu up into that region. There’s almost no roads, so, he either flew a fossil fueled prop plane to Lukla airport and took a fossil fueled helicopter, or took one from Kathmandu. You can bet he’s not going to do all that walking and trekking for many days, not at that altitude.

Reuters Seems Upset Kids Are Exposed To Pro-Israel Ads In Games

Graphic pro-Israel ads make their way into children’s video games

Maria Julia Assis was sitting down to a meal in her terraced home in north London when her 6-year-old son ran into the dining room, his face pale.

The puzzle game on his Android phone had been interrupted by a video showing Hamas militants, terrified Israeli families and blurred graphic footage. Over a black screen, a message from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the first grader: “WE WILL MAKE SURE THAT THOSE WHO HARM US PAY A HEAVY PRICE.”

Assis, a 28-year-old barista from Brazil, said that the ad left her son shaken and she quickly deleted the game.

“He was shocked,” she said in a telephone interview last week. “He literally said, ‘What is this bloody ad doing in my game?'”

Is this one of those “my 6 year old spoke like they’re 20” things?

Reuters has not been able to establish how the ad came to her son’s video game, but her family isn’t alone. The news agency has documented at least five other cases across Europe where the same pro-Israel video, which carried footage of rocket attacks, a fiery explosion, and masked gunmen, was shown to gamers, including several children.

In at least one case, the ads were played inside the popular “Angry Birds” game made by SEGA-owned developer Rovio.

Rovio confirmed that “somehow these ads with disturbing content have in error made it through to our game” and were now being blocked manually. Spokesperson Lotta Backlund did not provide details on which of its “dozen or so ad partners” had supplied it with the ad.

ZOMG, a whole 6 instances? These same people at Reuters have zero problem with exposing children to all sorts of LGBT propaganda, including explicit sexual stuff, but, a pro-Israel ad? That’s just too much for them. It couldn’t possibly be due to them being haters of Israel and Jews and supporters of a designated terrorist group, could it?

He said the footage was part of a larger advocacy drive by the Israeli Foreign Ministry, which has spent $1.5 million on internet ads since Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on civilians in southern Israel ignited war in Gaza. He said officials had specifically instructed advertisers “to block it for people under 18”.

Saranga defended the graphic nature of the ad campaign.

“We want the world to understand that what happened here in Israel,” he said. “It’s a massacre.”

Unfortunately, there are a lot of Israel and Jew haters out there who won’t care even if they are given the full, brutal, graphic evidence of how horrible Hamas is.

Reuters contacted 43 advertising firms that Rovio listed on its website as “third-party data partners” to try to ascertain who placed the ad in the games.

Is this really that important that they do this? These same people couldn’t even take the time initially to learn that Hamas bombed their own hospital.

Climate Lunatics Warn Of World Wide Societal Breakdown

At what point does their scaremongering, their apoplexy, just become too much for people to even take them seriously? Kinda like with Miley Cyrus when she just ramped up the insane. Do you hear much about her anymore?

Alarmists Threaten ‘Worldwide Societal Breakdown’ from Climate Crisis

A group of climate researchers warned this week that billions of people could find themselves in uninhabitable conditions by the year 2100 thanks to climate change.

“By the end of this century, an estimated 3 to 6 billion individuals — approximately one-third to one-half of the global population — might find themselves confined beyond the livable region, encountering severe heat, limited food availability, and elevated mortality rates because of the effects of climate change,” the authors wrote in their “2023 state of the climate report” published in BioScience.

The researchers, led by Oregon-based climate activists William J. Ripple and Christopher Wolf, stated that the effects of global warming “are progressively more severe, and possibilities such as a worldwide societal breakdown are feasible and dangerously underexplored.”

“Big problems need big solutions,” the authors declared. “Therefore, we must shift our perspective on the climate emergency from being just an isolated environmental issue to a systemic, existential threat.”

This sounds totally sciencey, right? If people in your life start getting hysterical, over-yammering about conspiracy theories, going all doom and gloom, do you start tuning them out? Staying away from them? I do.

But, hey, we can fix this with a tax and taking away all your life choices.

SCNY Creates Office To Send Illegal Aliens Packing

Going all the way to 1989 and mayor Ed Koch, they have declared themselves cities which love illegals and refuse to wirk with federal authorities like ICE. They let illegals, ones they know are very bad people, who go on to commit more heinous crimes. But, now that they’re over-run with illegals, but, not as much as border towns, they aren’t quite as accepting

New York City sets up office to give migrants one-way tickets out of town

New York City is intensifying efforts to transport migrants out of the city as its shelter system reaches capacity, setting up a dedicated office to provide asylum-seekers with free, one-way tickets to anywhere in the world.

City Hall confirmed the establishment of a new “reticketing center” in Manhattan as its latest bid to ease pressure on its shelters and finances following the arrival of more than 130,000 asylum-seekers since last year.

Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, has described the situation as a crisis and has begun to warn that shelters are so full that migrants will soon be forced onto the street as winter approaches.

“I cannot say this enough. You know, we are out of the room,” he told reporters this week. “And it’s not ‘if’ people will be sleeping on the streets, it’s when. We are at full capacity.”

The city’s plan to offer migrants transportation builds upon previous efforts to send the asylum-seekers elsewhere, though the establishment of the dedicated reticketing center marks a renewed emphasis on the strategy.

That ticket should be to somewhere outside the U.S. Or other Democratic party run cities, preferably ones which have declared themselves sanctuary jurisdictions. How about Albany, the capital of NY, which also declared itself a sanctuary? It’s just another case of Democrats supporting something in theory, but, not happy when forced to practice their beliefs.

Study: Rise Of EVs Will Lead To More Road Congestion

Electric cars to prompt more traffic jams, government report warns

The rise of electric cars will cause an increase in traffic jams across the country, new analysis conducted by the Government shows.

The revelation has emerged as part of research into the benefits of EVs, which are set to account for four in every five vehicles sold in the UK by the end of the decade.

A surge in congestion across Britain’s roads will be fuelled by the reduced running cost of EVs, the Department for Transport found, which will lead to drivers covering more miles.

The report, published late last week, estimates that the cost of congestion will be £78bn over the next 50 years – which is higher than previous predictions of £52bn in March.

It also estimates that EVs will soon cost an average of four pence per kilometre to run, compared to almost 10p for cars with combustion engines.

This will create a “rebound effect” as motorists will be happy to drive more given the prospect of cheaper mileage.

On the face of it, that makes sense. It’s just like how people will travel more when gas prices are down. But, not that much more. It’s actually more like people drive less when energy prices go up, which is what will happen because there just isn’t enough energy production to charge these vehicles. Will people drive more in the UK rather than taking some sort of public transportation as usual?

However, there’s one big fallacy here: that people will be able to afford the vehicles. Eventually, EVs might be in a range where the middle and working classes can afford an EV, perhaps even a new one. They will still most likely not be able to go far, not unless there’s a big breakthrough that is cost-effective. But, how long will it take to get there? 10 years? 20? All while the Government is forcing citizens to get out of petrol vehicles, and expecting massive numbers to be sold by 2035, mostly ending the sale of petrol vehicles (except for the rich folks and government officials, of course, because that’s the way this works).

The government report said that because zero-emissions vehicles have lower running costs than petrol and diesel equivalents, “there may be a resultant increase in miles driven.”

However, it added that an increased number of traffic jams could ultimately deter drivers from making some journeys.

Nah. It’s the inability to be able to afford the vehicles. Get them charged. And let’s not forget that insurance and repair costs are way higher. Oh, and they get totaled out by insurance companies a lot quicker than petrol/diesel vehicles, which means a lot more ending up in salvage yards faster.

Oh, and lots of them will be sitting there charging and waiting to get to a charger, because it will look like a line waiting for gas in the 70’s, hence, they won’t be on the road.
