Zelensky says the US is ‘not funding’ war in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated Sunday that the United States is “not funding” war in his country, emphasizing that the U.S. is helping protect democracy throughout the region.
NBC host Kristen Welker asked Zelensky on “Meet the Press” how long Americans can expect to fund the war in Ukraine, noting that there has been some strong opposition to sending additional aid to the country. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is doing the fighting and the U.S. is only providing the munitions.
“The Americans are not funding the war in Ukraine. They foremost protect freedom and democracy all over Europe. And Ukraine is fighting. And Ukraine is sending their best sons and daughters to the front line. And this reduces the price for all Europe, for all NATO,” Zelensky said, speaking through a translator.
“It reduces the price for everyone, including the U.S. as the leaders in NATO. U.S. Army now does not have to fight protecting NATO countries. Ukrainians are doing that. And it’s only the ammo that the civilized world is providing. And I think it’s a good decision. That is why we do need to keep supporting,” he continued.
Other than rabid wackos who have failed to perform critical thinking, does anyone think Russia is going to march into Europe after taking Ukraine? Or cross the sea to take on America? Right now, they can barely beat the Ukraine army. Beat them, though, they will, unless Ukraine decides to go guerrilla war and make it so painful to Russia that they give up.
But, this type of yammering is meant to buck up the rabid supporters in the U.S. and Europe to keep the money train going, which provides funding for politicians and lots of graft. The U.S. doesn’t really know where all the money and aid is going.
(Reuters) But Kyiv still faces manpower shortages on the battlefield, while questions linger over the strength of its fortifications along a sprawling, 1,000-km front line ahead of what President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said could be a Russian summer offensive.
“The most important source of Ukrainian weakness is the lack of manpower,” said Konrad Muzyka, director of the Rochan military consultancy in Poland.
They have some new type of quicker draft and training, but, they still do not have the manpower. The aid will give them lots of shells to fire at the Russians, but, that won’t stop them. What are they doing with all the tanks and fighter planes and stuff allocated by the US and EU nations? Regardless, Russia won’t be crossing into Poland or any other EU nation once they take Ukraine. Zelensky is setting up for a demand for more aid and money.
