Democratic Party Mayor Of El Paso Says City Is At Breaking Point From Illegal Aliens

Perhaps the current mayor, Oscar Leeser, should have talked to the city mayor, council, and attorney back in 2017, right after Leeser took a break from politics, having been the mayor from 2013 to 2017. Someone else was mayor when the city did this

City of El Paso joins legal battle against sanctuary cities law

The city of El Paso is joining the legal fight against the state’s controversial anti-sanctuary cities law.

The City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to join the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund’s lawsuit at no cost to the city.

The city now joins several other cities and groups across the state fighting the “show me your papers” law, which allows local law enforcement officials to ask people they detain or arrest about their immigration status.

In fairness, El Paso wasn’t declaring itself a sanctuary city, their elected leaders were simply playing both sides. And now

Dem Texas mayor says city is at ‘breaking point’ as border crisis rages

surprise surprise surpriseA Texas mayor is sounding the alarm amid a dramatic spike in migrants crossing the U.S. border, saying his city has reached a “breaking point.”

“The city of El Paso only has so many resources and we have come to… a breaking point right now,” El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser, a Democrat, said at a news conference Saturday.

Leeser’s comments come as El Paso has faced over 2,000 migrants per day crossing the border and seeking asylum in the city, putting a strain on resources and overflowing the available shelter space.

“So, this is something that we’ve been prepared for, but these numbers have really escalated a lot quicker than we ever anticipated,” he added.

Prepared for and supported, especially through their support of federally elected Democrats. You’re getting what you voted for. The citizens of El Paso who voted you in are getting what they asked for, and they can’t be thinking that the issue would be Somewhere Else, because they are a border town

Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas told CNN a few days ago that he declared a state of emergency in his city of 30,000 people after 5,000 migrants crossed over the border into the city from Piedras Negras, Mexico. Salinas said Biden has “abandoned” border communities and complained that no one from the White House has reached out amid the crisis.

“I believe 100 percent [Biden] does, he bears some responsibility for this crisis. I haven’t heard from anybody in the administration. The president hasn’t put out a statement, the vice president, I haven’t heard from anybody,” Salinas said.

“We’re here abandoned. We’re on the border, we’re asking for help. This is unacceptable,” he stated.

You voted for him. You supported him. You knew he was going to be weak on border security. You might not have known it would be this bad, but, you got what you supported. Elections have consequences. Both cities are shipping illegals away en mass.

Richard Branson Talks Climate Doom Or Something

Last I checked, this guy owned a fossil fueled airline, a fossil fueled cruise ship line, hotels (which require people to take fossil fueled trips), and a company attempting to make commercial space travel happen, among others. So, of course

Richard Branson talks new climate change coalition and his plans to return to space

Sir Richard Branson’s next mission: combating climate change.

The billionaire British entrepreneur announced his latest initiative, Planetary Guardians, at a news conference Monday while in New York for the United Nations General Assembly.

The coalition includes 14 world leaders who will take what they’re calling a “whole planet” approach to “safeguard” Earth. The diverse group includes actor Robert Redford, activist Jane Goodall and Juan Manuel Santos, the former president of Colombia.

“If you can’t measure something properly, you can’t fix it,” Branson told NBC News in a wide-ranging interview at his new flagship Virgin Hotel on Tuesday. “The idea is that we will measure the nine principal planetary boundaries every year … how many are the rainforests? Exactly where are we with climate change? Where are we with species disappearing in the world … and we can try to make sure we can push the world into trying to address them.”

Branson also had a message for the climate change deniers.

“It’s a fact of life,” he said. “The amount of carbon that’s going into Earth’s atmosphere is heating up the world and it’s going to do a lot of damage to the world if we don’t get it under control.”

Yet, he started all those fossil fuels using companies, and has stakes in so many that use vast amounts of petroleum and energy. He’s not selling them all off, but, he is investing in “green” energy companies, trying to make even more money of the scam. It’s super easy for the uber-rich to push this, because they’ll just go on with their own lives as normal while getting government to restrict the lives of the peasants.

Branson founded Virgin Group in the 1970s. It now consists of more than 400 companies, including his airline, record label and hotels all over the world, which now includes his first-ever location in Manhattan. (snip)

The mogul has homes all over the world and even owns his own island, but he says there’s something about the city that never sleeps. “When I come to New York, it’s like coming home.”

While running many businesses he’s aware of his own carbon footprint.

“We’ve managed to get the price of going into space, from a carbon point of view right down to a minimum. … You know, if you’ve run an airline, you’ve got to try to get the youngest, most fuel-efficient planes,” Branson said. “If you’re running a space line, you’ve got to reduce the cost of taking people into space dramatically from a carbon point of view. So all of us in positions where we can make a big difference have got to make a big difference.”

And NBC News’ Chloe Melas failed to ask him directly if he’s giving up his own massive use of fossil fuels. Go figure.

Surprise? Massive Amount Of Democrats Are Against Free Speech

They do not particularly understand the 1st Amendment or the reasoning behind it, the writings behind it

Pretty sure that the 1st restricts government from censoring speech. The full tweet leads to this Real Clear Politics article

Bill Of Rights“Overall, 9 in 10 voters in the U.S. think First Amendment protections for freedom of speech is a good thing, while only 9% think it is a bad thing,” said pollster Spencer Kimball, who directed the RCP survey. “This is agreed upon across the demographics, like party affiliation, age, and race.”

For those who oppose censorship and put a premium on the free flow of ideas, that’s the good news. But there is bad news, too. Inevitably in our nation’s current hyper-partisan political environment, when one bores down on this subject, deeply divergent perspectives emerge — partisan differences.

Painting with a broad brush, Democrats grant significantly more deference to government than do Republicans when it comes to regulating free speech. This wasn’t the only fault line revealed by the RCP survey.

Some of what is dividing these differences is generational, as Millennials and Gen-Z have come of age in a digital age environment in which reasonable expectations of privacy seem a relic of the past. “Those under 30 are most open to censorship by the government,” Kimball noted, adding that 42% of this cohort deem it “more important” to them that the government protect national security than guard the right to free expression. Among those over 65 years old, the corresponding percentage was 26%.

They were taught this in government schools, but, probably haven’t considered that the tiger they’re feeding can turn on them in a heartbeat

But the most glaring gap is between conservatives and liberals, i.e., between Republicans and Democrats. On the issue of free expression, at least, Republicans are not the authoritarian party. That distinction belongs to the Democrats, the party launched by Thomas Jefferson — the Founding Father who famously said that if he were forced to choose between “a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.”

This is not really new, unlike what the article says: Democrats have been building to this for decades, but, especially in the 20th Century

Republican voters (74%) and independents (61%) believe speech should be legal “under any circumstances, while Democrats are almost evenly divided. A bare majority of Democrats (53%) say speech should be legal under any circumstances, while 47% say it should be legal “only under certain circumstances.”

Yes, the Democrat response is beyond disturbing, but, the response from Republicans and Independents is not good, either.

Poll respondents were read this statement: “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” Only 31% of Democratic voters “strongly agreed” with that sentiment, compared to 51% of Republicans.

The tagline of this little blog says “If we don’t believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don’t believe in it at all.” I truly believe that. I’ll fight for your ability to say stuff, even if I am vehemently against it.

LOL: Texas Sending More Busloads Of Illegals To SCNY

Sanctuary City New York is complaining they’re at capacity. Unlike the border towns which are not sanctuary cities and do not support unfettered illegal immigration

Texas sends another wave of migrants to New York City despite ‘capacity’ claims

Texas announced Friday that the state would be busing more migrants from “overwhelmed” border communities to New York City, despite Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-N.Y.) saying the state is at “capacity.”

Busses chartered by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and the Texas Division of Emergency Management left Del Rio and Eagle Pass on Friday, Abbott announced. The New York Post reported that the buses were heading to New York.

“Texas border towns should not have to shoulder the burden of Biden’s open border policies,” Abbott posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Texas will continue to send buses to sanctuary cities to provide relief to overrun border towns.” (snip)

Abbott has bused thousands of migrants to New York, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. To board one of the buses, an asylum-seeker must volunteer to be transported and show documentation from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security releasing them to travel, Abbott’s statement said.

“Until President Biden upholds his constitutional duty to secure America’s southern border, Texas will continue to deploy as many buses as needed to relieve the strain caused by the surge or illegal crossings,” Abbott’s statement said.

One bus arrived in SCNY Friday, and at least one of the buses sent from Texas is heading to Chicago. It’s a real shame that Democrat voters have to deal with what they support, eh?

Meanwhile

(Breitbart) After a brief slowdown on Friday, the Biden administration re-opened the international railway bridge into Eagle Pass, Texas. The move allowed an estimated 1,000 to 1,500 migrants to ride the trains to the U.S.-Mexico border in preparation for crossing into Texas on Saturday.

Breitbart Texas watched as an estimated 1,000 migrants crossed the Rio Grande from Piedras, Negras, Coahuila, into the overrun border town of Eagle Pass. More migrants continued crossing despite the heavy presence of Texas National Guard soldiers along the riverbank and on the river.

Abbott really needs to send a few busloads to Rehoboth Beach while Biden’s in town.

Warmist Bill Gates Looks To Come After Agriculture

Who is Bill Gates? Well, he’s a super rich guy who Lefties usually hate because he’s rich, but, he uses Righthink when it comes to issues like Hotcoldwetdry. He is one of the biggest climahypocrites on the planet, living the high life, owns big fossil fueled jets, has massive homes, etc. But, this issue is, as I’ve been saying since the early 2000’s, about government control of everything

Bill Gates speaks out on major overlooked contributor to Earth’s overheating: ‘The one that people are probably least aware of’

There are a number of contributors to global heating that many of us could likely list without much trouble. Chemical waste, vehicle pollution, single-use plastics, and deforestation are among the most well known.

However, while discussing the subject on his podcast, “Unconfuse Me,” Bill Gates suggested not many people are aware of one of the most significant contributors.

The Microsoft co-founder and now billionaire philanthropist noted that agriculture plays a huge part in terms of harmful gas pollution.

“Of all the climate areas, the one that people are probably least aware of is all the fertilizer and cows, and that’s a challenge,” Gates said, as reported by CNBC. (snip)

With nearly 144 billion pounds (72 million tons) of beef and buffalo meat eaten worldwide in 2018, per The World Counts, it’s clear the need for cows is vital for the global food supply chain — and that moving away from meat would provide huge environmental benefits. The number of cows in the world is high because of demand for meat and dairy, rather than what cow populations would be without human intervention.

So, meat is necessary but meat is Evil

As CNBC noted, Gates is an investor in several plant-based food companies, and he said on his podcast that his primary reason for doing so was to come up with a climate-friendly alternative to meat.

Gates has at least some experience when it comes to farmland, too. In recent years, he has invested in American farmland, and he revealed on a Reddit “ask me anything” post, as summarized on Yahoo, that he has done so to make it more productive and to provide jobs.

Just because he bought those companies and farmland (to make money) doesn’t mean he knows agriculture

And when it comes to climate science, he also knows a thing or two on that subject, writing the 2021 book, “How to Avoid a Climate Disaster.” In it, he recommends switching to electric cars and furthering research into synthetic meat, per CNBC.

Has he switched to an EV? Not necessarily, but, he did buy a Porsche Taycan in 2020, with a starting price of $150K. We can all afford that, right? At the end of the day, Bill wants government to control agriculture. Doing that has created massive protests in Europe.

LetsGoBrandon To Join Striking Auto Workers On Picket Line

I wonder how all those striking Hollywood writers feel about Biden blowing them off

Biden to join the picket line in UAW strike

President Joe Biden will travel to Michigan to join the picket line of auto workers on strike nationwide, he said on Friday afternoon.

“Tuesday, I’ll go to Michigan to join the picket line and stand in solidarity with the men and women of UAW as they fight for a fair share of the value they helped create,” Biden wrote on X, the platform previously known as Twitter.

Here’s the question: does Joe know this? Because you know he did not write the tweet. Someone on his staff did, and was certainly directed by Joe’s handlers. Joe may be surprised as all heck come Tuesday.

His decision to stand alongside the striking workers represents perhaps the most significant display of union solidarity ever by a sitting president. Biden’s announcement comes a week after he expressed solidarity with the UAW and said he “understand[s] the workers’ frustration.”

The announcement of his trip was seen as a seismic moment within certain segments of the labor community. “Pretty hard-core,” said one union adviser, who spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

The president’s plans come as some Democrats have begun to question his response to the strike, recognizing that he needs the full backing of union workers in his presidential reelection bid.

Let’s not forget that part of the strike is due to Biden’s economic mismanagement with inflation and his push for EVs, eroding wages and being a need for fewer workers to make the EVs.

Former President Donald Trump also has plans to visit Michigan next week. Despite backlash from Fain, the leading candidate in the Republican presidential primary will visit current and former workers next Wednesday — the same day his competitors in the field take the debate stage in California. A person familiar with Trump’s plans said that he is “unlikely to go to the picket line” but that such a stop “has not been ruled in or out.”

Jason Miller, a spokesperson for Trump, criticized Biden’s decision to go to Detroit in his own post on X.

“The only reason Biden is going to Michigan on Tuesday is because President Trump announced he is going on Wednesday,” Miller wrote.

This should be interesting.

AP Notices The Debate On Governmental Force On Climate Crisis (scam) Goals

This article is rather surprising: it’s rare that the Credentialed Media rarely notices the authoritarianism inherent in the climate cult system. Of course, they do not seem too concerned with instituting Fascism

Governments and individuals debate: Are mandates needed to reach climate change targets?

Governments, organizations and businesses have set ambitious goals to combat climate change. But it is far from clear that those goals can be met without forcing people to do — or not do — certain things.

And that is causing some consternation, even among some people who acknowledge the need to slow the warming of the planet.

This week, New Jersey has gone into more detail about its climate change goals, including its proposed ban on the sale of new gasoline-powered vehicles by 2035, and a push to “decarbonize” public and private buildings by switching from natural gas to electric heating and appliances.

Shawn LaTourette, New Jersey’s environmental protection commissioner, hesitates to use the word “mandate” in describing the state’s plans.

“There are interests out there that tune into the narrative of heavy-handed government forcing people to do things,” he said. “That is not what is happening.”

Except, that is exactly what they’re doing. If you are stopping people from being able to purchase certain items, if you’re saying they will soon only be able to buy an EV (though, a goodly chunk won’t be able to afford them), that’s heavy handed governmental force. If you’re telling them they cannot eat certain things, telling them they can only fly once in a blue moon, that they should take the train or bus, that they should live in tiny homes, and all the other stuff, that’s force. These people think they are dictators, that they can lord over the very people who vote and that the elected officials, and bureaucrats, are supposed to be responsible to.

Anjuli Ramos, New Jersey director of the Sierra Club, agreed that meeting climate goals requires urgent action. But she said New Jersey’s steps are “not really a mandate.”

“This is us transitioning to where the market is already going,” she said. “It’s not like the car police are going to go up and down the street taking away every gasoline-powered vehicle.”

If government is deciding for the people, well, that’s a mandate. It’s naked governmental force. Period.
