District Of Columbia Finally Realizes They Have A Crime Problem, Looks to Pass Legislation

Remember when they were saying that crime was not that bad?

(ABC News) Politicians in the nation’s capital are expected on Tuesday to pass what is being called an emergency public safety bill to address rising crime rates in the city.

As of Monday, homicide in Washington was up 17% year-to-date compared to 2022, while reported robberies were up 52% and motor vehicle thefts were up 117%, according to police statistics.

And 22 was up, as was 2021 and 2020. Who would want to visit D.C. when the chance of being robbed or having your car stolen are up. Neighborhood Scout ranks D.C. as a 2, meaning it is safer than 2% of US cities. 100 is the best. This is our nations capital, and over half of the city is a dangerous place.

(WTOP) The mayor of D.C. and several members of the city council are putting their support behind an emergency crime bill that is aimed at curbing a spike in violent crimes in the nation’s capital. The legislation introduced by Ward 2 council member Brooke Pinto.

“We are in a state of emergency right now,” Pinto said during a press conference and community question and answer session at the Turkey Thicket Recreation Center in Northeast.

The session comes as the city reports a 33% spike in violent crime over the same period last year. Crimes considered violent includes homicide, sexual abuse, assault with a dangerous weapon and robbery.

“The criminal activity occurring in our neighborhoods is unacceptable,” said D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.

Why is it unacceptable now when it was “a challenge” previously? Someone Important must have experienced a crime. They didn’t seem to care that much when a 13 year old and a 15 year old carjacked a man and hit him with a stun gun, causing him to crash and die.

The bill includes a provision which would lean in favor of keeping both adults and juveniles who commit violent crimes, behind bars until their trial. It also would expand the private security camera program in the city.

For people who are released from jail with ankle monitors on, the bill will allow GPS information collected by Pretrial Services Agency to be shared with the courts, when someone is suspected of committing another crime while on pre-trial release.

There are many more components to the bill, and will certainly be amendments offered today.

Mendelson said the comments came because of the case closure rates being seen in the city, something he said goes beyond what city council can do.

“I don’t have a badge to make arrests, I don’t have a badge to investigate,” Mendelson said.

He called on more aggressive prosecutions and a rise in closure rates. Mendelson said he has since reached out to Interim Police Chief Ashan Benedict to explain what he meant by his comments to the TV station last week.

Mendelson has said “you can get away with murder here”, while the chief of police said “When they commit crimes in our city, you can’t get away with murder here, we will catch you.” Will they? D.C. has a low rate of catching murderers. Then they have to deal with the Progressive prosecutors releasing them. And police who are blase’ about going after criminals, because they know any interaction could lead to them being accused of raaaaacism, being that a vast majority of the criminals are black. And why should the cops work hard when they know the perps will be released and commit more crimes?

Biden Takes Long Fossil Fueled Trip To UK To Discuss Climate Crisis (scam) With King Charles

They never seem to see the hypocrisy

Biden and King Charles III zero in on generational challenge of climate change

President Joe Biden and King Charles III, two leaders who waited decades to reach the pinnacle of their careers, used their first meeting in those roles Monday to zero in on the generational challenge of climate change, prodding private companies to do more to bolster clean energy in developing countries.

The meticulously choreographed gathering at Windsor Castle injected substance into the type of encounter between president and monarch that historically has been more about ceremony. After the arrival formalities, Biden and Charles participated in a climate-focused roundtable with officials from the financial and philanthropic sectors. John Kerry, the U.S. envoy on climate, also attended.

The 74-year-old Charles, who was crowned in May, has long fought to protect wildlife and battle climate change. Biden, for his part, identified climate change as one of the four crises he was determined to confront as president. He signed a sweeping legislative package last year that includes nearly $375 billion in climate-related incentives. (snip)

Biden and Charles made sure to show off their still-developing friendship and warmth during the ceremonial arrival at Windsor Castle, outside London. After they shook hands, Biden put his hand on Charles’s arm, then on the king’s back as they approached a viewing platform to inspect an honor guard. They appeared relaxed and cordial — a contrast to more formal encounters between past U.S. presidents and British royalty. Biden and Charles discussed climate, China and shared stories from the past during their visit, according to Sullivan.

Brandon took a fossil fueled helicopter to fly to Andrews AFB to take short flight on a jumbo jet up to Delaware, then over to his beach house. Then back to Dover, Delaware to fly to the UK. And then a massive 30+ vehicle motorcade to and from visiting with Charles

He flew a helicopter, then had a whole bunch of fossil fueled vehicles meet him at Windsor

Bummer: Bud Light Drops To 14th Place

There are certainly times when a Woke company doesn’t get hit hard by going Woke. Some market share loss, revenue drops, then things blow over. Not with Bud Light

Bud Light Plummets To 14th Place Among Beers As Anheuser-Busch CEO Pleads For Consumers To Think Of The 65,000 Employees Impacted By Boycotts

As Bud Light, once a beloved contender among the country’s favorite beers, spirals down to the 14th spot, the repercussions resonate far beyond the brand itself.

A recent YouGov survey reveals the decline in Bud Light’s ranking, casting it below competitors like Pabst Bue Ribbon, Miller Genuine Draft and Miller Lite. This seismic shift in popularity jeopardizes the livelihoods of the 65,000 people whose economic well-being is intricately tied to Anheuser-Busch InBev’s success.

Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth has taken full responsibility for the controversial promotion involving transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney that caused sales to plummet. In an interview with CBS, Whitworth emphasized that he is ultimately accountable for the actions of the company, expressing concern for the people whose livelihoods depend on Anheuser-Busch.

“It’s the impact honestly on the employees that weighs the most on me,” he said.

Whitworth called on people not to punish the workforce but rather to attribute blame to him. He made it clear that he acknowledges the repercussions of the promotion and urged consumers to continue supporting Bud Light.

Whitworth should have considered this early on. Remember, it wasn’t just the idiocy of doing a special can for a wackjob pretending to be a little girl and essentially denigrating real women. No, it was the idiot marketing director yammering about not being fratty and “out of touch”, then the AB attempting to sweep it under the rug, which obviously did not go over well, and things progressed from there. Months later it’s a bit late to be saying to blame himself and not take it out on the brand and all the people who work for AB and depend on AB.

While Anheuser-Busch has attempted to downplay Mulvaney’s role in its overall strategy, Whitworth confirmed that the company will maintain its partnerships without making any changes. He did not explicitly apologize for the collaboration with Mulvaney, despite some consumers demanding an official acknowledgment of the mistake as a prerequisite for restoring their patronage.

Maybe he should resign, and take a whole bunch of people with him. It’s too late, and there really have been no true apologies. Bud Light as a brand is unremarkable and easily replaced. All they had at this point was their loyal customer base who has found better alternatives for the same price. They aren’t coming back. One of the biggest mistakes a company or a store can make is a situation that for whatever reason forces their loyal customers go elsewhere “temporarily”. Frequently they find a better option than they expected and never return.

Warmists Take Long Fossil Fueled Trips To Protest Deep Sea Mining

In order to get the “green” agenda rocking and rolling, it is necessary to have vast amounts of metals and such to make solar panels and EVs (plus, it’s need for computer chips and so much more). The Warmists have freaked about nations and companies mining for the necessary materials on land, at least in 1st World nations. Not so much when using child labor in 3rd world nations. So, what about in the seas?

Deep Sea Mining Isn’t a Viable Climate Solution

On July 10, youth from around the world will gather at the International Seabed Authority meetings, as delegates cast a vote on environmental regulations that will either stop deep-sea mining in its tracks or allow it to move forward. Many ISA delegates are advocating for the mining regulations to be finalized so that mining can start immediately.

Deep-sea mining projects could be given the green flag to source minerals needed to support green technological innovation—at the cost of damaging portions of our ocean floor in ways that could kill marine life and negatively impact people who depend on the ocean for sustenance and economic prosperity.

The citizens of Palau and Sustainable Ocean Alliance continue to call for a moratorium on deep-sea mining and are grateful that many others around the world share our views. Among them, importantly, are our youth. The next generation, who will inherit this world and its problems, are the future scientists, entrepreneurs, and engineers who will discover new solutions, as well. But we have the unique opportunity to prevent a problem before it begins by halting deep-seabed mining practices until we can better understand the risks.

So, what do we do for those minerals and such? The climate cultists really aren’t offering any solutions other than “don’t mine.”

We encourage all leaders, and in particular the remaining political leaders who have yet to announce a position on deep-seabed mining to listen to their young constituents, including those at Sustainable Ocean Alliance (SOA) that led the handover of a global petition signed by more than 250,000 people across the globe calling for a moratorium. SOA’s network of youth leaders and regional representatives from the Caribbean, Latin America, and France continue to advocate for the prevention of opening international waters to this destructive mining practice and using youth voices to call for corporations to do the same.

Well, if they do not like this, then, let’s restrict the youths from using any of the products from the mining for minerals and such. No EVs, no power from solar panels, no tech that uses it. It has to come from somewhere.

Illinois May Allow DACA Illegals To Become Police

Another brilliant idea from the Democratic Party

Sanctuary State Illinois: Gov. Pritzker Considers Allowing DACA Illegal Aliens to Police Americans as Cops

illegal alien DemocratIllinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) is considering signing legislation into law that would allow illegal aliens, enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, to become police officers in the sanctuary state.

Democrat legislators, with a supermajority in the Illinois House and Senate, passed legislation late last month that would allow thousands of DACA illegal aliens living in the state to become police officers or deputy sheriffs.

“… an individual against whom immigration action has been deferred by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services under the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) process is allowed to apply for the position of police officer, deputy sheriff, or special policeman, subject to specified requirements,” a summary of the legislation states.

The legislation has been pending before Pritzker since mid-June but he has not signed it into law. Even if Pritzker vetoes the bill, though, Democrats in both legislative chambers can override that veto with their supermajority powers.

Well, Democrats love the notion of biological males with mental illness taking positions away from biological women, so why not illegal aliens taking jobs from Americans? One big question is “would it make a difference?” At least in the big, Democrat run cities, cops are leaving in droves. They’re tending to take a very light touch with crime, because a) they’re being demonized by Democrats, and want to avoid trouble, and b) their hands have been tied by Democrats. How will the illegals perform their jobs? They’ll either act just like the current police in places like Chicago, or, they’ll be over-zealous in trying to prove themselves.

I could see them being held up as shining lights and assigned to the nice parts of Chicago which are policed well and have lower crime rates than the other areas. Will the other police stick around? And, I wonder how many will have been shown to be criminals themselves.

Will they pay homage to the law or to the Democratic Party, especially through the police unions? Many police officers across the state have refused to enforce illegal orders from the government and the Democrats. Will the illegals turn into the Democrats private police force?

Once Upon A Time, ‘Climate Change’ Might Possibly Be Causing Kidney Stones In Children

“Scientists say”

Experts speculate climate change is increasing kidney stone cases among young children: report

Experts are speculating that climate change and other factors are driving the increase in kidney stone cases among children and teens.

Experts told NBC News that just three decades ago, kidney stones were largely a disease that affected middle-aged White men, but they now increasingly affect children and teens, especially in the summer.

The number of annual kidney stone cases increased by 16% from 1997 to 2012, according to a Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, with 15- to 19-year-olds seeing the greatest increase in cases. Kidney stone incidents were 52% higher among females within this age bracket while males become more susceptible to the disease at age 25, according to NBC News. (snip)

Doctors have not determined exactly what is driving this increase among youths but speculated that climate change, a diet of ultraprocessed foods and the increased use of antibiotics among children are causing dehydration, according to NBC News.

“Speculating”. In other words, it’s all the crap foods, increased antibiotics, and, really, all those horrible energy drinks which can cause dehydration, but, they have to throw in ‘climate change’ in order to get that sweet, sweet, government funding.

“While it is unlikely that climate change has been a significant contributor to the increase in kidney stones among children and adults over the last 20 years, it is likely that climate change will increase the number of people affected by stones in the future,” Tasian said.

Oh, so, it’s not actually happening due to climate doom, but, it could in the future. Got ya. This is all fearmongering clickbait and cult propaganda.

Ukraine Totally Vows Not To Use The Cluster Bombs Biden’s Giving Them In Russia

If they won’t use them, then what’s the point of giving Ukraine cluster bombs?

Ukraine vows it won’t use cluster bombs in Russia

Ukraine’s Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov welcomed a U.S. decision to send cluster bombs to Kyiv, saying it would help to liberate Ukrainian territory but promised the munitions would not be used in Russia.

The U.S. announced on Friday it would supply Ukraine with widely banned cluster munitions for its counteroffensive against occupying Russian forces.

Reznikov said the munitions would help save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers, adding Ukraine would keep a strict record of their use and exchange information with its partners.

“Our position is simple – we need to liberate our temporarily occupied territories and save the lives of our people,” Reznikov wrote on Twitter.

“Ukraine will use these munitions only for the de-occupation of our internationally recognized territories. These munitions will not be used on the officially recognized territory of Russia.”

Translation: this is the new wonder weapon that will push the Russians back.

Reality: by the time this new “wonder weapon” is deployed and used for the first time Ukraine and the media will have moved on to the next wonder weapon Ukraine needs that will change the tide of war. It will grind on like WWI lines. I’m not sure why they are needed, since the media and Biden admin keep telling us that Ukraine, led by Authoritarians, is winning.

Anyhow, good thing the Biden admin never said using them would be a war crime

Shortly after the invasion, on February 28, 2022, then White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked about munitions. “There are reports of illegal cluster bombs and vacuum bombs being used by the Russians,” a reporter asked. “If that’s true, what is the next step of this administration? And is there a red line for how much violence will be tolerated against civilians in this manner that’s illegal and potentially a war crime?”

In response, Psaki said that yes, the use of cluster bombs would be considered a war crime. “It is — it would be. I don’t have any confirmation of that. We have seen the reports. If that were true, it would potentially be a war crime,” she said.

They are banned by over 100 countries.

(Reuters) Canada is against the use of cluster munitions that Washington has promised to give Ukraine for its counteroffensive against occupying Russian forces, Ottawa said on Saturday, reiterating a commitment to the Oslo agreement that bans the controversial weapon.

Spain is also against the delivery of the weapons.
