While Matt Gaetz certainly would have been someone who would have taken a chainsaw to the Department Of Justice and their politicization, Pam Bondi is a better choice

President-elect Trump announces Pam Bondi as his new pick for US attorney general

President-elect Trump announced Thursday evening that he’s nominating a former attorney general of Florida as the next attorney general of the United States.

Trump’s latest Cabinet pick replaces Matt Gaetz, the former Florida representative and nominee for attorney general, who on Thursday withdrew as Trump’s pick for the top prosecutor after the “distraction” his nomination had caused due to a swirl of allegations about paying underage women for sex.

“Pam was a prosecutor for nearly 20 years, where she was very tough on Violent Criminals, and made the streets safe for Florida Families,” Trump wrote in his announcement. “Then, as Florida’s first female Attorney General, she worked to stop the trafficking of deadly drugs, and reduce the tragedy of Fentanyl Overdose Deaths, which have destroyed many families across our Country. She did such an incredible job, that I asked her to serve on our Opioid and Drug Abuse Commission during my first Term — We saved many lives!

“For too long, the partisan Department of Justice has been weaponized against me and other Republicans – Not anymore. Pam will refocus the DOJ to its intended purpose of fighting Crime, and Making America Safe Again,” he continued. “I have known Pam for many years — She is smart and tough, and is an AMERICA FIRST Fighter, who will do a terrific job as Attorney General!”

The Democrats hate this choice, because she very much has experience, knowledge, and capability. Oh, and it will be tougher for them to play their games because she’s a woman, though, Democrats sure tried when she was the AG of Florida. They had a national hatred of her. Of course, no matter who Trump picked the Democrats would be against them. Now, the question is “will any Republican Senators get squishy?”

Your Fault: People Having Unsanitary Toilet Practices Linked To Hotcoldwetdry

It’s like they wake up and go “what can we link to climate doom today?”

Climate change is encouraging unsanitary toilet practices among vulnerable communities

Everyone knows that climate change has consequences, such as a higher likelihood of severe floods, hurricanes and droughts. But here’s a lesser-known problem: Climate change makes toilets more likely to break, which leaves people more likely to “go” outside.

That’s what colleagues and I found when we studied households across six rural Cambodian provinces, focusing on their access to proper toilets and when people decide to abandon sanitary systems in favor of open defecation, or “going” outside.

We analyzed sanitation behavior surveys that were given to about 200,000 households every two years from 2013 to 2020. These questionnaires looked into how households maintained access to sanitary toilet systems, when these facilities were abandoned, and why. It also inquired about the poverty status of the households.

A second survey of 1,472 households that owned a pour-flush latrine purchased through local sanitation businesses supported by the nonprofit organization iDE looked at how well these toilets functioned, as well as attitudes toward waste management. In this case, waste management refers to how often and when latrine pits are emptied and whether the waste is contained in a safe and hygienic way.

Seriously, they looked at one nation, and decided that Bad Weather, which has always happened, is the fault of Other People driving fossil fueled vehicles and living a modern lifestyle. And, seriously, not only did they look at Cambodia, which is considered a high 3rd world nation to a low 2nd world nation, they looked at people in the rural areas

Our goal was to establish how living in regions vulnerable to the effects of climate change affects how well sanitary toilets function, and the impact that has on households’ sanitation practices and perceptions.

Sigh. What’s Cambodia like?

Cambodia’s troubled history exacerbated poverty and perpetuated economic inequities. Decades of destructive conflict, civil war, and economic, political, and social instability have contributed to the widespread poverty that currently exists in the country, especially among rural dwellers. The conflict resulted in the destruction of infrastructure, human capital, and institutions, as well as a large proportion of Cambodians being displaced, maimed, orphaned, or widowed. Not surprisingly, these conditions created deep poverty, and the aftermath has been accompanied by widespread economic and social inequities.

So, not exactly the place one looks for having lots of toilets that always work, right?

Going to the toilet is a basic human necessity, yet more than half the world’s population uses toilets that do not treat human waste before it reenters the environment, typically into rivers.

In other words, they’re using outhouses and hand dug pits. But, them having problems is on you. Hey, maybe if we’d stop wasting so much money on ‘climate change’ garbage there would be money to help them out.

WWIII Watch: Ukraine Claims Russia Fired ICBMs

If this is true, it is a serious escalation. But, the AP is, surprisingly, skeptical

Ukraine says Russia launched an intercontinental missile in an attack for the first time in the war

Ukraine claimed Thursday that Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile overnight at a city. If confirmed, it would be the first time Moscow has used such a weapon in the war.

Ukraine did not provide any evidence that an ICBM was used in the attack on the central city of Dnipro, apparently armed with conventional warheads.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a missile used “matches the speed and altitude” of an ICBM. The Kremlin refused to comment on the strike.

The attack comes in a week when tensions have repeatedly soared, as the U.S. eased restrictions on Ukraine’s use of American-made longer-range missiles inside Russia and the Kremlin lowered its threshold for launching nuclear weapons.

The range of an ICBM — which can exceed 5,500 kilometers (3,400 miles) — is beyond what is needed to attack Ukraine. But such missiles are designed to carry atomic warheads, and the use of one, even with a conventional payload, would serve as a chilling reminder of Russia’s nuclear capability and a powerful message of potential escalation.

Why would Russia fire something that expensive which is mean to go very, very far away, even to the other side of the world?

(Fox News) Russian troops launched various missiles, reportedly including an intercontinental ballistic missile from the Astrakhan region, in an early morning attack on Ukraine on Thursday.

Ukraine’s Air Force said on its Telegram account that it destroyed six Kh-101 cruise missiles using anti-aircraft combat.

The Russian attack hit critical infrastructure in the central-eastern city of Dnipro, according to the air force.

Why would they launch an ICBM when it is under 1,000 miles from launch point to Dnipro? Unless they simply wanted to make a point. Those cruise missiles can do a whole lot more damage. It could very well have been a big missile, just, not an ICBM. If true, though, it is a serious escalation, and, a step closer to a much wider war. Because you also have

(CNN) Ukraine launched the British-French-made Storm Shadow missiles at targets inside Russia for the first time on Wednesday, according to a Russian military blog and Reuters, a day after Ukraine fired US-made ATACMS missiles into Russia.

Ukraine’s use of the UK-supplied missiles to hit Russian territory was confirmed to Reuters by an official on condition of anonymity. British media also reported the use of the cruise missile on Wednesday, citing sources.

Could Microplastics Be Affecting The Climate?

This is one of those “we’re not quite sure, we’ll throw it out there” articles, but, it is the kind of environmental articles that actually interests me and doesn’t cause derision for the climate cult, because I do have a problem with plastics and especially microplastics, which are bad for the environment

Microplastics could be affecting the weather, new study shows

Microplastics have already been found in the remotest parts of the world, including Antarctica – and a new study suggests they could be affecting the weather.

Microplastics, which are formed when plastic in the environment breaks down into tiny particles, have also been found in plant roots and human organs – and now scientists believe they could be affecting how clouds form.

The finding could mean that plastic pollution may influence rainfall, potentially worsen climate change – and even pose risks to planes. The new Penn State research builds on previous studies, which showed that microplastics affected clouds.

The study showed that microplastics help ice crystals form inside clouds by acting as ‘ice nucleating particles’, the researchers say.

Using four common plastics, the researchers simulated water droplets freezing inside a cloud. They found that droplets with microplastic particles froze at temperatures 5 to 10 C higher than droplets without plastic pollution.

So, not only are microplastics bad for the environment and life, but, they could be creating snow and rain at higher temperatures than normal, which is exactly along the lines of me saying that mankind is not blameless in climatic changes. The question is, how much? How much more rain and snow is this causing?

In general, clouds cool the Earth by reflecting solar radiation, but certain clouds at certain altitudes can have a warming effect by helping to trap energy emitted from the Earth.

I would like to see more research into this. And more action in reducing microplastics.

Texas Offers Land For Feds To Use To Deport Illegals

Texas offers Trump land on US-Mexico border for potential mass deportations

Texas is offering a parcel of rural ranchland along the U.S.-Mexico border to use as a staging area for potential mass deportations under President-elect Donald Trump.

The property, which Texas originally purchased last month, is located in rural Starr County in the Rio Grande Valley. Republican Dawn Buckingham, the Texas Land Commissioner, sent a letter Nov. 14 to Trump extending the offer.

“We do hear through back channels that they are taking a look at it and considering it. But we just want them to know we’re a good partner. We’re here. We want to be helpful,” Buckingham told The Associated Press in an interview on Wednesday.

The property has no paved roads and sits in a county with one public hospital and limited local resources. But Buckingham stressed its location.

“We feel like this is actually very well-located. The land is very flat there. It’s adjacent to major airports. It’s also adjacent to a bridge over the river,” Buckingham said. “So if it’s helpful, then I would love to partner up with the federal government. And if it’s not, then we’ll continue to look to ways to be helpful to them.”

What’s the point of this land?

“By offering this newly-acquired 1400-acre property to the incoming Trump Administration for the construction of a facility for the processing, detention, and coordination of what will be the largest deportation of violent criminals in our nation’s history, I stand united with President Donald Trump to ensure American families are protected,” Buckingham said in an earlier statement.

That’s the point. Capture them, detain them, sit them in front of a judge quickly who will look at their records and say “you are not eligible for asylum, goodbye,” and boot them out. Team Trump should also look at federal land in the west which is just desolate, nothing there, to build detention centers for those coming and are here who are declaring asylum, a place to hold them till they get their hearing.

That’s who Democrats are protecting. Murderers. Gang members who the Biden-Harris administration failed to vet at all.

Early Winter Weather Hitting West Coast Is, To Be Clear, Your Fault

The West Coast is facing a long-lasting heavy rain event from a bomb cyclone that formed in the northeastern Pacific Ocean Tuesday, and which could lead to significant flooding.

Threat level: The rapidly intensifying storm that is directing a strong atmospheric river at southwestern Oregon and Northern California brought hurricane-force winds to parts of Oregon, Washington and Canada late Tuesday, causing widespread power outages. At least one person has died. (snip to near the end)

Context: Human-caused climate change is causing atmospheric rivers to carry more moisture and making them capable of producing more rain and snow.

  • One 2022 study found that atmospheric rivers that hit California in 2017 were up to 15% wetter due to human-caused climate change.
  • Other recent studies show future atmospheric river events may heighten this trend.
  • Warmer air and ocean temperatures add more water vapor to the atmosphere, which storms can ingest and wring out over land.

But, do we know that this is different from previous Holocene warm periods? How much past data is there? Sorry, sorry, I forgot that cults do not need scientific proof.

And there are plenty of tweets linking winter weather that’s early to Other People driving fossil fueled vehicles. Cult.

Commerce Looking To Quickly Spend All The CHIPS Act Money Before Trump Or Something

Raimondo’s new mission: Leave no cash for Trump

Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo is on an urgent mission: get as much high-tech spending out the door before Donald Trump takes office.

The Biden administration is aiming to commit nearly every unspent dollar in its $50 billion microchip-subsidy program before President-elect Donald Trump takes over in January, an effort that would effectively cement a massive industrial legacy before the GOP can reverse course.

“I’d like to have really almost all of the money obligated by the time we leave,” Raimondo said in an interview with POLITICO. “That’s the goal, and I certainly want to have all the major announcements done as it relates to the big, leading-edge companies.” (snip)

The Chips money alone is a massive undertaking. Congress allocated $50 billion in subsidies for semiconductor manufacturing and R&D. So far only two companies have received binding awards from the Department of Commerce’s manufacturing program. To hit her target, Raimondo still needs to nail down contracts with Intel, Micron, Samsung and SK hynix — multibillion-dollar deals that have, at times, been rocky and required renegotiations.

Raimondo said she recently directed staff to work through the weekend — and even made personal calls to tech CEOs — to speed the talks along.

Perhaps Raimondo should have thought about this beforehand. The CHIPS Act passed on August 9, 2022. What has she been doing since? It took them till February 2023 to listen to proposals. Wasn’t the whole point of the CHIPS Act to get manufacturing up quickly, since there was a big chip shortage worldwide post-COVID? Anyhow, nothing in that Politico piece says why they have to do this quickly Because Trump

Biden locks in $6.6B for TSMC chip factories, ensuring Trump can’t rescind CHIPS Act deal

The Biden administration has finalized a $6.6 billion award for the Taiwan semiconductor giant that is building massive factories in Phoenix, amid concerns President-elect Donald Trump will derail subsidies aimed at fostering the domestic chip industry.

“This is a gigantic announcement,” Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo told reporters on a call ahead of the announcement early Friday, 10 days after Trump’s election.

“This will be one of the most important investments that we make as a country to advance our economic and national security,” she said.

The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company plans to invest $65 billion on three state-of-the-art fabrication plants, or fabs, that mean thousands of jobs in Arizona.

But

In June, Trump rattled investors when he accused Taiwan of stealing the U.S. chip industry and asserted the U.S. shouldn’t be “giving them billions of dollars to build chips.”

“That CHIPS deal is so bad,” he said Oct. 25 on the Joe Rogan podcast.

He wants the money to go to U.S. companies. But, also remember that Trump tends to rattle on. Rep Mike Johnson also mentioned repealing the CHIPS Act, but, he was quickly shot down, because it is a good thing.

Now, the question is, how many bad deals will Commerce make? Perhaps Raimondo should speak directly to Trump to ascertain his thoughts on this. Will his admin continue to make good deals on this? If so, slow down.

Warmists Have Wonderful New Ideas To Implement Climate Taxes

Rather than give up their own use of fossil fuels and make their own lives carbon neutral, they’d prefer to share the misery of their doomsday cult

These new taxes could help fight climate change

The COP29 climate talks in Azerbaijan aim to agree on an annual finance target of $1 trillion or more a year to help poorer countries respond to global warming. Some see new taxes as one way to get there.

The Global Solidarity Levies Task Force (GSLT), led by France, Barbados and Kenya, is exploring the issue. Below are extracts from its latest report on the options being discussed and estimates about how much could be raised.

Shipping
The levy that could be closest to being agreed is for shipping, responsible for around 3% of global emissions, with governments set to debate a series of measures at a meeting of the International Maritime Organization in April.

Aviation
Aviation accounts for 2% of global emissions yet is usually free of value-added tax (VAT) or sales taxes. Levies being discussed by the GSLT include kerosene fuel, private jet fuel, luxury tickets and frequent flyers, which together could generate $19 billion to $164 billion a year, it estimates.

Well, sure, that won’t cause a spike in costs, right? How about the rest, which are

  • Fossil fuels
  • Financial transactions (why? What do they have to do with ‘climate change’? Oh, right, it’s a cash grab)
  • Carbon (yeah, the continuation of their old carbon tax idea)
  • Wealth (this would be on billionaires. To start with)
  • Crypto
  • Plastic

Strange how it’s always about the money (and the government control), never about practicing what you preach.
