Bidenconomy: 52% Say America Is Too Expensive To Live In

Wildly, there is not one mention of Biden policies making things worse, nor any mention of the Democrat/Biden legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act, which doesn’t

Is the US getting too expensive to live in? Many Americans worry about economy, inflation

As Americans look ahead to another Independence Day and a likely contentious 2024 presidential election, many are feeling fiscal pain as the prices of food, shelter, healthcare and transportation climb higher than their paychecks. About 52% of Americans participating in a USA TODAY/Suffolk Poll said the United States is too expensive to live in. And about seven in 10 Americans said stifling inflation and the economy are the nation’s top problems today, according to a new Pew Center survey. A majority across age, gender and race told Pew inflation is “a very big problem.”

“Their spending power has been minimized,” said Gene Ludwig, former head Comptroller of the Currency, a  U.S. Treasury Department bureau.

What’s America’s economic state? Frustrating and uncertain. The typical American household spends about $768 more on monthly purchasing goods and services these days compared to 2020 because of high inflation, Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody’s Analytics, said.

Meanwhile, as the United States skirts a recession, Zandi said some Americans seeking relief are also dipping into their savings for survival. Around 25 million Americans are behind on their credit card, auto loan or personal loan payments, according to a recent Moody’s/Equifax data analysis. Also, the delinquency rate for bank credit cards was 3.27% in May, nearly two points higher than in 2021, Zandi said.

Darned that Donald Trump and all his policies that do not focus on inflation

Zandi’s theories echo a Brookings study this month by former Federal Reserve Chair Ben Bernake and former International Money Fund chief economist Olivier Blanchard titled, “What Caused the U.S. Pandemic-Era Inflation?”

They wrote the Fed and many forecasters didn’t expect “mismatches” of a strong job market while the interest rate spiked. “Together, these shocks to prices given wages would prove to be the critical triggers of the rise in inflation,” the economists said. Bernake and Blanchard said lowering the current inflation rate of 4% to the Fed’s preferred 2% target requires a better balance.

Again, the root cause is China’s COVID19, which obviously messed up the supply chain badly, especially as mostly left wing governments here and around the world locked things down, picking and choosing what to lock down, and often picking poorly. Shutting down the auto industry, from the direct manufacturers to all those who supply the parts to those who ship them, was a Bad Idea. Shutting down food growers and suppliers. Those who supply wood and everything else to build housing. And more. You lived this, you know it.

The extreme spending, which sorta made sense through 2020, made zero sense in 2021. That was a bipartisan. Biden’s policies have mostly been the exact opposite of what should be done. The Credentialed Media really doesn’t want to talk about that

Nearly half of California residents are considering leaving the state, a poll finds. Many cite the cost of living as the main reason why.

Most Californians love living in California, but many are also considering moving to another state.

A new statewide poll found 70% of respondents expressed high levels of happiness with living in California and applaud the state for its diversity. But 4 in 10 Californians are considering moving out of state, with the majority saying it’s too expensive to live in the state.

California has had three consecutive years of population declines, according to U.S. Census data.

Only 29% of Californians reported feeling satisfied with the economy, which is down from 41% at the beginning of 2020. Nearly half also noted that they get by, but struggle to save money or pay for unexpected expenses. Over a quarter of respondents reported struggling to make ends meet.

Well, I hope there are no Democrats in that 4 in 10. They voted for this, so, they should love it, right?

Miami To Spend $8 Million To Indoctrinate Residents Into Climate Cult

This is what you get after 30+ years of spreading awareness, and it’s not like Miami isn’t a Democrat voting city already which is chock full of Warmists already. I guess they need to brainwash more into allowing government to take more of their money and freedom

Knight puts $8 million into push to make Miami ‘the most climate literate city in the nation’

In South Florida, surveys routinely show that residents care deeply about having clean water and air, and unpolluted water to swim and fish in. But when it comes to perhaps the biggest environmental threat yet — climate change — it’s not the kitchen table conversation that environmentalists believe it should be.

An $8 million cash infusion by the Knight Foundation intends to change that, by funding two of the bigger environmental nonprofit in the state. The donation — $5 million to Miami Waterkeeper and $3 million to the Everglades Foundation over six years — is meant to increase awareness of the risks of climate change in Miami.

“What we hope to get out of this is a Miami that is much more engaged and much more active in discussing and defining the kinds of climate solutions that will build a resilient future,” said Raul Moas, a senior director at the Knight Foundation.

Moas called the grants a “significant and large donation” for Knight, in line with the $60 million it’s given to technology and entrepreneurial causes over the last 11 years. Along with an investment in the Aspen Climate Ideas festival in Miami Beach, it’s one of the foundation’s recent, big steps into the topic of climate change.

“We deeply believe in being catalytic investors,” Moas said. “We hope our donation is a signal to others that this is a very serious thing.”

Imagine what they could do with that money in dealing with actual, real environmental issues. Instead, it will be wasted on climate cult propaganda.

Good News: More Migrants Housed In NYC Than Homeless

Imagine what could be done if cities and states didn’t have to spend so much money dealing with illegal aliens. Of course, New Yorkers should be happy to have all this money and space diverted, since they support illegal immigration, right?

NYC housing more asylum seekers than homeless NYers in migrant crisis first

A new milestone in NYC’s migrant crisis: There are now more asylum seekers living in city shelters than there are homeless New Yorkers.

The tipping point took place Sunday, when 50,000 migrants were in the City’s care, outnumbering the 49,700 local shelter residents.

Among the takeaways: the NYC shelter system has essentially doubled in size, due to the influx, mostly from Latin American countries including Venezuela, Ecuador and Colombia.

Additionally, sheltering asylum seekers is more expensive. Without work permits, many asylum seekers cannot pay for basic necessities. They are not entitled to all the same public assistance benefits as citizens, and for migrants, the city is not collecting its usual share of shelter costs from the state and federal governments.

Why is NY not asking all the Democratic Party voting residents to house them…oh, wait, they had a plan. Why not force them to house the illegals? They could start with the politicians. I’m sure AOC would be happy to take a few in

“My heart breaks a little bit, and I have these conflicting feelings,” said Deputy Mayor Anne Williams-Isom, during a tour of the new arrival center at the Roosevelt Hotel.

But, I’m sure it’s not breaking enough for her to put a few up at her casa, or donate a bunch of her time and money

Of the milestone, she says it’s important for the city to greet people with dignity, but unsustainable at this pace.

Williams-Isom notes the financial cost, an anticipated $4.3 billion cost through next spring, and a human cost on staff assisting asylum seekers.

That should not matter, since NYC is a declared sanctuary city. They should welcome this. Meanwhile

Workers arrive at the future Greensboro site for migrant children who cross the U.S. border alone

Monday dormant former American Hebrew Academy saw some activity.

The site is getting closer to taking in immigrant children.

WFMY News 2 spotted a large group of folks on the 100-acre property getting some sort of instruction.

And what happens next is that the parents are invited when they show up, and they never leave. Nice little scam. It’s also child abuse that parents send their kids alone, and that Democrats entice the parents to do that.

Once Upon A Time, ‘Climate Change’ Makes Summer 5 Times More Likely

Oh, sorry, I meant “scientists say”

Current heatwave across US south made five times more likely by climate crisis

The record heatwave roiling parts of Texas, Louisiana and Mexico was made at least five times more likely due to human-caused climate change, scientists have found, marking the latest in a series of recent extreme “heat dome” events that have scorched various parts of the world.

A stubborn ridge of high pressure has settled over Mexico and a broad swath of the southern US over the past three weeks, pushing the heat index, a combination of temperature and humidity, to above 48C (120F) in some places.

The heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and oceans by the burning of fossil fuels made the extreme heatwave at least five times more likely, according to a recent analysis by Climate Central, a climate science non-profit. The punishing heat, which is forecast to linger further throughout the week in Texas, is creating “stressful conditions for millions of people”, according to Andrew Pershing, vice-president for science at Climate Central.

Speaking to the Guardian on Monday, Andrew Dessler, a climate scientist at Texas A&M University said the university’s campus at College Station has had a string of days above 37C (100F), when it usually doesn’t hit such peaks until August. “It’s depressing to think we’re not even in July and we are getting this sort of heat,” he said. “When it’s this hot you are a prisoner in your own house, you are a prisoner to air conditioning.”

Well, obviously, prior to fossil fueled vehicles and CO2 going above 350ppm the weather was utterly and entirely stable, and things never changed. Forecasting was easy, because weather was consistent. Right? There were certainly no times like heat of the 1930’s or cooling of the late 40’s thru late 70’s. We all know that no matter what happens, the climate cult will be there to involved itself.

Bud Light Continues Digging, Brings Back “Old” Mascot

Bud Light Brings Back Old Mascot In Desperate Attempt To Win Back Conservatives

Bud Light is apparently dusting off an old advertising mascot amid ongoing backlash stemming from their partnership with a polarizing transgender influencer.

A Twitter profile supposedly belonging to “The Bud Knight” posted a video Monday of the mascot stepping into the frame with a caption saying, “Yeah, I’m thinking I’m back.”

The mascot resembles a typical medieval knight covered in blue armor plates and “BUD LIGHT” plastered across his chest plate. The mascot notably appeared in a 2019 Super Bowl commercial promoting the popular fantasy series Game of Thrones. In the commercial, the mascot engages in and loses a jousting match before a large dragon appears and burns down the venue.

The Bud Knight was a central part of Bud Light’s popular “Dilly Dilly” campaign, which ran from 2017 to 2019. The mascot’s Twitter account last posted in 2021, seemingly signing off for good.

It really didn’t go well

“Is the armor tuck friendly?” popular right-wing commentator Benny Johnson wrote, referring to Target’s LGBT-themed swimwear.

Perhaps if they brought back Spuds MacKenzie? Probably not. The best thing to do is just keep quiet. Don’t try and win anyone back. Just simple ads. And maybe avoid this

Eco-Nuts Push No-Wash/Low-Wash For Clothes

How soon till the eco-wackos start pushing for government to regulate

This growing laundry trend will save you money and is better for your clothes — here’s why some people are resisting change

Consumerism has many positive benefits for the economy, but it leads to a significant amount of waste. This has resulted in a new generation of neighborhood advocates. Many are championing new ways of laundry care, giving rise to “no-wash” and “low-wash” laundry movements.

Water usage, energy consumption, and renewed attention to chemical waste and packaging-associated practices drive an ecological call to action. Grassroots communities actively seek new ways to care for their garments for a more traditional, greener lifestyle.

“No-wash” and “low-wash” movements drive shared beliefs that frequent laundering is unnecessary for maintaining clean, odor-free clothing. Our communities are becoming aware, and there’s growing support for traditional ways of cleaning clothes.

Excessive washing wastes water and energy. At the same time, standard laundering contributes to garments’ wear and tear. And exposure to harmful chemicals contained in conventional laundry detergents is terrible for us and our planet.

But using healthier alternative methods for refreshing and caring for our clothes can include spot-cleaning, airing, freezing, or using eco-friendly fabric sprays and lowering water temperature to save energy.

Unfortunately, the same people pushing this surely bathe less and fail to use deodorant.

The “no-wash” and “low-water” laundry care movement extends beyond laundering to include eco-friendly alternatives in other areas, such as dishwashing, personal hygiene, and household cleaning.

This holistic approach to sustainable living underscores the broader mission of these communities: to challenge societal norms and actively seek sustainability. Small changes in our daily routines can contribute to an eco-friendlier future for generations.

If they want to do this, have at it. Don’t try and force the rest of use to participate.

Starbucks Learns A Valuable Lesson As Extreme Rainbow Folks Strike

When a business puts Woke/SJW/Virtue Signaling above wise business practices, they shouldn’t be surprised when it turns around and bites them in the posterior

Starbucks strike over Pride decor follows LGBTQ anger on hours, benefits

unintended consequencesWorkers at dozens of U.S. Starbucks locations held strikes on Sunday to express their outrage over accusations by the baristas’ union that managers at several U.S. cafes removed rainbow flags and decorations supporting LGBTQ+ Pride month.

About a dozen Starbucks workers picketed outside New York’s Astor Place location in lower Manhattan on Sunday afternoon near the route of the city’s Pride parade, chanting: “New York is a union town! On strike! Shut it down!”

Union members handed out flyers and talked to passersby about the action, while several customers chose not to enter in support of the strike.

With Pride marches underway in New York City, San Francisco, Chicago and Starbucks’ hometown Seattle, some baristas and other workers at the coffee chain said they were angered by the dispute.

A spokesperson said on Sunday that “we unwaveringly support the LGBTQIA2+ community. It would be inaccurate to report that Starbucks stores are banning any decorations as there has been no change to company policy on this matter.”

But, at the end of the day, they are a business. Their job is to sell coffee and all the other weird stuff they have. That’s it. They made a mistake when they said anyone could use the bathrooms even if they didn’t purchase anything. And then had tons of homeless making the stores filthy and leaving drug needles all over. They bought into BLM, and then it hurt their business, so they banned it (and most political stuff), and caught a load of crap. They allowed the rainbow alphabet folks to have stuff up for a bit, and that hurt business, and now they are taking crap from their employees. It’s one thing to do some good, have some charitable endeavors, be responsible, but, eventually it crosses the line and blows up a smooth running organization.

Though the conflict is gaining attention now, it began brewing a year ago, when the Workers United union said the company threatened union organizers – many of whom say they are queer or trans – with reduced hours that would leave them unable to qualify for health insurance, which covers gender reassignment surgery and other affirming procedures.

Starbucks has denied that it changed the coverage, calling the accusations “false claims” in a June 14 letter to Workers United International President Lynne Fox and seen by Reuters.

Sounds like a shakedown of a generous company.

“Once we decided to unionize, they were like, we’ve had enough of this progressive stuff,” said Jackie Zhou, 21, a shift supervisor at a New York City Starbucks at Astor Place, where workers held a strike on Sunday.

Someone finally realize it had went too far.

Sam Cornetta, a barista at the Farmingville, New York, Starbucks, who joined coworkers on strike at Astor Place on Sunday, said the company was alienating LGBTQ+ workers.

“They’ve used their claim to be a progressive, inclusive company to kind of attract those kinds of people,” Cornetta, 23, said. “There’s a performative aspect.”

Expect Starbucks stores to be a lot more cautious in who they hire in the future, which will mean the militants will slowly attrit away.

People’s Republik Of NYC Cracks Down On Pizzerias Due To “Carbon Pollution”

I wonder how well this will go over with all the Warmists in NYC, considering how important pizza is in NYC and the Tri-State area

Mama Mia! NYC rules crack down on coal, wood-fired pizzerias — must cut carbon emissions up to 75%

Mamma Mia!

Historic Big Apple pizza joints could be forced to dish out mounds of dough under a proposed city edict targeting pollutant-spewing coal-and-wood-fired ovens, The Post has learned.

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection has drafted new rules that would order eateries using the decades-old baking method to slice carbon emissions by up to 75%.

“All New Yorkers deserve to breathe healthy air and wood and coal-fired stoves are among the largest contributors of harmful pollutants in neighborhoods with poor air quality,” DEP spokesman Ted Timbers said in a statement Sunday. “This common-sense rule, developed with restaurant and environmental justice groups, requires a professional review of whether installing emission controls is feasible.”

The rule could require pizzerias with such ovens installed prior to May 2016 to buy pricey emission-control devices — with the owner of one Brooklyn joint saying he’s already tossed $20,000 on an air filter system in anticipation of the new mandate.

All for a cult related scam

“Oh yeah, it’s a big expense!” said Paul Giannone, the owner of Paulie Gee’s in Greenpoint. “It’s not just the expense of having it installed, it’s the maintenance. I got to pay somebody to do it, to go up there every couple of weeks and hose it down and you know do the maintenance.”

Certainly, all those pizza places and other joints which have these types of ovens (I assume by coal they mean charcoal, like people use in the backyard) won’t pass on the costs to consumers, right? Hopefully they’ll have an extra line on their receipts showing this.

In fairness, this can reduce actual air pollutants from those types of ovens. If you’ve ever used a charcoal grill, you know what I mean. CO2? Just stop, cultists. Also, I’m not necessarily a fan of those really hot wood ovens they use for pizza. I think it cooks too fast. I like those big metal ones which are in the 400F range. Not a big fan of that really crispy crust. Still, government needs to be so dictatorial.

Apparently, Men Trying To Save The Planet Buying EVs Is Sexist

Funny how it’s always something sexist or racist or this or that or the other when it comes to what we’re told is a science

New report reveals the troubling reason more men own electric vehicles than women: ‘You have to think [it] through’

Electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming more popular in recent years, with more manufacturers releasing their own models and more buyers making the switch. However, according to S&P Global, 72% of EVs are purchased by men and only 28% by women — even though overall car purchases are split 50/50.

Several factors play into the EV purchase gap, according to Inside Climate News. One is price: while EVs tend to be cheaper to maintain than gas-powered vehicles, they cost more upfront.

Since women make less money than men on average, women are less likely to buy an expensive vehicle. White buyers are also more likely to choose an EV than people of color for the same reason.

So, what they’re saying is that EVs are very expensive? Perhaps women are just more practical when it comes to vehicles and just do not want an EV? Could it possibly be a personal choice? Perhaps they do not think that purchasing an EV is a wise decision.

“There’s also the fact that women said that they have less familiarity with the fundamentals of owning an [EV],” said Quinta Warren, associate director of sustainability policy at Consumer Reports, which surveyed 8,000 people about the divide between male and female EV owners. “So I think a way to address all of this, obviously, is some exposure, some education, to create more familiarity.”

Maybe women just do not care. Did anyone think that? Or, maybe the EV climate cultists just think women are stupid.

But perhaps the largest factor is safety.

Unlike gas-powered cars, which can be filled up in just a few minutes, Inside Climate News points out that EVs take as much as half an hour to charge, meaning the driver is stuck at the charger for at least that long.

While gas stations usually have attendants close at hand, EV chargers can often be isolated at the far ends of parking lots or in unpleasant neighborhoods. This creates a safety issue for women, who are likely to be more worried about being vulnerable to assault while charging their cars.

We can solve this by empowering women to go out armed. And, quite frankly, this applies to men. There’s a big EV charging lot behind Target on Six Forks Rd in Raleigh, and, it can be somewhat isolated, especially at night.

“As usual, because men were making most of the decisions, they were not walking through the scenarios,” Andrea Colomina, the sustainable communities program director at Green Latinos, told Inside Climate News. “You have to think through what is the experience of every potential user.”

So, it’s pretty much all sexism. EVs are a gadget. Men tend to be into gadgets more than women, and usually care more about the mechanics of things like autos. The vast majority of performance vehicles like the Subaru WRX, Honda Si and Type R, Toyota Supra, etc, are bought by men. Most women do not care. So, should be fun trying to force women into them.
