US Warns Illegals That Border Is Not Open But Will Allow Them In And Untracked

Does the government talk to the government? Here’s the shot

U.S. Warns Migrants Before End of Pandemic Restrictions That ‘Border Is Not Open’

A day before a pandemic-era rule that was used to swiftly expel migrants at the southern border is set to expire, Alejandro N. Mayorkas, the homeland security secretary, warned migrants on Wednesday against crossing illegally into the United States.

“Our border is not open,” Mr. Mayorkas said, adding that those who enter illegally will now face tougher consequences, including expulsion from the country. “Do not risk your life and your life savings only to be removed from the United States if — if and when — you arrive here.”

Biden admin to allow for the release of some migrants into the U.S. with no way to track them

After more than 11,000 migrants were caught crossing the southern border on Tuesday, the Biden administration is now preparing a memo that will direct Customs and Border Protection to begin releasing migrants into the U.S. without court dates or the ability to track them, according to three sources familiar with the plans.

The Biden administration began releasing migrants without court dates to alleviate overcrowding in March 2021, but had previously enrolled those migrants in a program known as Alternatives to Detention, which required them to check in on a mobile app until they were eventually given a court date. The new policy would release them on “parole” with a notice to report to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement office but without enrolling them in the program.

The more than 11,000 border apprehensions in a single day is a record and surpasses expectations of 10,000 per day predicted by Department of Homeland Security officials on what could come when Covid restrictions lift late Thursday.

“We’re already breaking and we haven’t hit the starting line,” one DHS official told NBC News, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the person isn’t authorized to talk to the media.

So, basically, dereliction of duty, failing to follow the law. Releasing illegals into the nation with zero attempt to track them.

Rhode Island Looks To Be Fossil Fueled Vehicle Free By 2035

I’m shocked that no one at the Providence Journal bothered to ask the governor, unelected bureaucrats, and others who support this if they themselves are driving EVs

State wants to phase out sales of new gas-powered vehicles in RI by 2035. Here’s how they’ll do it.

Rhode Island is joining a wave of states that are following California’s lead to phase out sales of new gasoline-powered cars by 2035 in a bid to reduce air pollution and combat climate change.

Gov. Dan McKee will announce Wednesday the decision to go forward with the regulations that are the strictest in the nation on mandating sales of electric cars and trucks. It would bring Rhode Island in line with Massachusetts, New York and other states that have already adopted California’s new standard that aims for a full-scale transformation of America’s automotive industry.

It would also boost Rhode Island’s efforts to comply with a landmark state law that requires deep emissions cuts.

“The Act on Climate put us on the clock for meeting major carbon reduction mandates, and it’s clear to me that Rhode Island will only meet the mandates by addressing the transportation sector head-on,” McKee said in a statement.

Well, hey, you Democrats voted for this, suck it up, no complaining.

The move will necessitate big changes for Rhode Island’s auto dealers. In 2022, only 5.2 percent of vehicle sales in the state were electric, up only slightly from the year before. In 2027, the first year Rhode Island would begin enforcing the standard, 43 percent of all new cars and trucks sold in the state would have to be electric or hydrogen-powered models.

Automakers have already begun transitioning to emissions-free vehicles, but supply chain issues across the entire industry have slowed the delivery of new models. If supplies remain tight, it will be the states that require sales of electric cars that will get them first, said Terry Gray, director of the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management.

How many dealers will this put out of business, because there just aren’t enough vehicles to sell, and most working class and middle class folks can’t afford them? How will you get from 5.2% to 43% in 4 years, then 100% by 2035? Where does all that metal for the batteries come from? What about the energy to charge them?

Biden Digs In On Debt Ceiling Fight

This could have been hammered out months ago, but, instead, the Biden regime said they wouldn’t negotiate on something that has long been negotiated

Kevin McCarthy: ‘Didn’t See Any New Movement’ on Debt Ceiling Negotiations

Biden Brain SuckerHouse Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said on Tuesday after he met with President Joe Biden he “did not see any new movement” on a potential debt ceiling deal.

McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) held a press conference after their meeting with Biden, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).

“I didn’t see any new movement,” McCarthy revealed. He said that everyone in the meeting “reiterated” their positions that they have long held. He added that staff will continue to negotiate. (snip)

McCarthy chided Biden for waiting 97 days for Tuesday’s negotiations. He said the Republican debt ceiling bill, the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023, would raise the debt ceiling in a responsible manner and boost economic growth.

Biden doesn’t want to give up all that stuff pass without any Republican help, even though most of it fails to help the economy. His a true ideologue, and doesn’t seem to understand that politics is a give and take.

How Might the Government Avoid Default? Biden Offers Clues.

Nearly two hours after the end of what appeared to be a fruitless meeting between President Biden and Republican leaders this week over raising the federal debt limit, Mr. Biden finally offered a hint as to how the government might avoid a catastrophic default.

Actually, it was two hints, contained in an impromptu news conference in the Roosevelt Room. For the first time, Mr. Biden signaled he was open to clawing back some unspent stimulus money included in the economic rescue bill he signed in 2021 during the pandemic. That suggested a potential starting ground for compromise between the president and Republican lawmakers, who have refused to raise the nation’s borrowing limit without deep spending cuts, and who have pushed to rescind some stimulus funds. (snip)

The second clue was not about possible compromise — it was the opposite. The president acknowledged that he is considering what would effectively be a constitutional challenge to the very existence of the debt limit. It is a unilateral path that Mr. Biden conceded could face legal hurdles. But his comments suggested that if Congress could not find a deal to raise the debt limit on terms acceptable to Mr. Biden — and before the nation runs out of cash to pay its bills — the president might be prepared to try to avoid default on his own.

“I am considering the 14th Amendment,” Mr. Biden said, referring to a clause in the Constitution that stipulates that “the validity of the public debt” issued by the U.S. government “shall not be questioned.” Some constitutional scholars contend that clause requires the government to continue issuing new debt to pay bondholders, effectively overriding the nation’s statutory borrowing limit, which is controlled by Congress.

Wouldn’t it simply be easier, and more responsible, to negotiate? Take the bill the GOP let House (which has the power of the purse strings) offered, make some offers to remove/add some stuff and remove/add others. That’s negotiation. No one will get everything they want. Biden is acting more like a dictator.

But Mr. Biden said the move was under consideration regardless, and he punctuated that thought at the end of his remarks on a potential default. “I will do everything in my power to avoid it,” he said.

Biden and McCarthy’s people plan to meet today and Friday, and then the two are planning on meeting Friday. However, the smart money is on Biden blowing out of D.C. Friday afternoon to head to Delaware and do nothing.

EVs Are, Surprisingly, Turning Into A Nightmare

I’ll mention once again that I’m not against EVs. It would be great if they were ready for primetime, as they do not release all the air pollutants that gas powered ones do, and I’m not referring to carbon dioxide. If you want one, get one. I am 100% against mandates and forcing citizens to purchase one. And we have even more problems

The electric vehicle dream has turned into a nightmare

electric vehicleThe rollout of electric cars isn’t quite going to plan, is it? By the end of the decade it will be illegal to buy a new petrol car, but that doesn’t mean we’ve thought through the consequences.

There were always obvious problems with the technology: the electricity has to come from somewhere, and Britain isn’t installing enough chargers to meet government targets. And that’s before you take the rocketing price of electricity into account, which means that thousands of the handy roadside chargers where motorists could charge up for nothing have been pulled. There are nearly 40 per cent fewer than a year ago.

Wait for it

It now turns out that some bridges may not be able to take the weight of electric cars which, due to their large battery packs, are heavier than their petrol equivalents. Cue lengthy detours to a sturdier crossing point. It’s little use having new technology without the infrastructure to match.

Well, that’s a new one on me. But, it makes sense. EVs can weight anywhere from hundreds to thousand of pounds more than a fossil fueled vehicle. Bridges were designed for certain weights, averaged out between cars and trucks of all sizes as they travel across them. Now you’ll be added thousands or tens of thousands of pounds more weight to each bridge, stressing them. Bridges have collapsed from having too much weight on them. What happens when you have a jam, and you have added 15K pounds more?

A further issue is what happens when an electric car hits a pedestrian or a cyclist. Because they’re so heavy, the impact can be worse than that of a normal car. Urban 4x4s used to get a bad press because they could flatten pedestrians like a tank, but an electric car can do the same. Because they’re so quiet – unless they come with the fake engine noises manufacturers are working on – people might not hear them coming.

That’s not good. Here’s something from back in January: “Drivers beware: Some electric cars are so heavy they risk crushing smaller vehicles in collisions“. Have the Powers That Be really thought this through?

Moreover, if you’re remotely paranoid about surveillance technology when it comes to some social media apps or your smartphone, it turns out that some smart electric cars can collect data including route history and road speed. All the cameras, sensors, internet connectivity and radar which make the latest models so covetable also mean that they could theoretically be used for remote surveillance. I bet James Bond would pass on the electric vehicle and stick with the Aston Martin.

They keep coming up with more and more problems, eh?

Bud Light Boycott Now Hitting Other AB Brands

They have no one to blame but themselves. Do a stupid stunt with a mental nutbag who belongs in a mental hospital, a lunatic who offends women with his mocking of women. Then an advertising head who demeans the core consumers. Then a terrible explanation from AB and their suits

Bud Light’s sales drop is accelerating amid Dylan Mulvaney fiasco — and is now spilling into other Bud brands

Bud Light’s downward spiral has accelerated in the wake of the Dylan Mulvaney debacle — and the carnage has begun to spill into Anheuser-Busch’s other mega-buck brands, The Post has learned.

Nationwide retail sales of Bud Light were down 23.4% versus a year ago in the week ended April 29 — worse than the 21.4% decline they suffered a week earlier, according to Bump Williams Consulting and NielsenIQ data.

Meanwhile, as beer drinkers discover how many other beer brands fall under the Anheuser-Busch umbrella, the backlash is widening, according to the fresh data.

The company’s flagship Budweiser brand took an 11.4% sales hit for the week ended April 29. Sales of Bud’s Michelob Ultra brand — the third-biggest-selling in the US behind No. 1 Bud Light and No. 2 Modelo Especial — were down 4.4%, according to Bump Williams data. (snip)

Anheuser-Busch’s smaller US brands also got dinged, with its Natural Light brand down 5.2% and its Busch Light seeing a 1.8% drop.

It may not seem like much, but, that’s a huge amount of money

“If Bud Light doesn’t fix its trend by the end of this month, it will continue to lose market share because it will lose Memorial Day. That kicks off the summer season,” Williams told The Post. “There has to be a sense of urgency for InBev to correct these trends.”

How do they fix this? They really missed their opportunity weeks ago. At this point they might just be hoping to run the clock out and see people forget about this.

Anheuser-Busch told distributors that an outside ad agency was responsible for tapping Mulvaney to promote the Bud Light brand to the LGBTQ community, but has stopped short of naming the marketing firm.

Sometimes it’s best just to shut up. Quit digging that hole.

Biden Regime Now Coming For Your Dishwasher Due To Climate Crisis (scam)

Just another initiative that will drastically increase the cost of dishwashers, which will hurt the working and middle classes

Biden Energy Department Starts Crackdown On Dishwashers

Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm announced new efficiency regulations for dishwashers, beverage vending machines, and electric motors on Friday, the latest of several actions from the Biden administration to decrease power usage and combat climate change.

An announcement contended that the restrictions would decrease expenses for American consumers due to lowered energy consumption. Granholm said the administration is “using all of the tools at our disposal to save Americans money while promoting innovations that will reduce carbon pollution and combat the climate crisis.”

New dishwashers imported into the United States beginning in 2027 would have to consume 27% less power and use 34% less water, while more compact models would need to implement a 22% power reduction and an 11% water use reduction, according to an analysis of the proposal released by Bloomberg Law. Energy Department officials estimate that consumers would have to spend $15 more for a new dishwasher but would witness three times as much in energy savings over the appliance’s lifetime.

In other words, they’ll cost hundreds of dollars more and save a little bit over the lifetime of the machine, which will most likely last a whole lot less than current ones.

The new dishwasher standards would save households $168 million each year on utility bills, according to an estimate from the Energy Department. The regulations for electric motors, which convert electrical energy into mechanical energy in manufacturing and process equipment, will save businesses $464 million annually, while the vending machine rules will save $20 million annually.

Any time the government starts throwing out savings numbers, run fast, as this is the same government which spends $500 on a hammer, rather than getting one with a lifetime warranty from Home Depot. The same govt which spends your money on pigeon slots, fake farms, transgendered monkeys, and a parking garage for the NSA which doesn’t work. Seriously, this list could go on and on. How about the way that the government pays for cost overruns because of contractor mistakes? Government doesn’t really understand money, accept that they can take it from people.

The Energy Department also unveiled new efficiency standards for air conditioners and the first federal standards for portable air cleaners. Officials similarly introduced a final rule that requires single-section and multi-section mobile homes to meet new climate-dependent energy conservation measures, which are estimated to raise the cost of large mobile homes between $4,100 and $4,500, marking a significant increase from the $81,400 average costs for newly manufactured mobile homes, according to data from the Census Bureau.

Rich people like to raise the cost of living for poor and middle class folks.

Colorado Moms Gun Grabbing Group Wants To Ban All Guns

But, see, we keep being told that Liberal groups do not want to ban all guns (well, maybe just those icky assault weapons), they just want common sense gun control

See, no one is coming to take your guns

Moms’ Gun Control Group Urges Colorado Governor to Ban All Guns

Here 4 the Kids, a gun control group comprised of mothers, is urging Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D) to use an executive order to ban all guns in the state.

The mothers are hoping a “group of 25,000 will come together for a sit-in at the state Capitol” on June 5 to demand all guns be banned, 9 News reports.

The homepage on the Here 4 the Kids website says, “We demand that Colorado Governor Jared Polis sign an executive order to ban guns and buy them back.”

Another section of their website explains, “We are not an organization. This movement is an unexplored and unprecedented action, led by black and brown women with a team of white women working behind the scenes, to end gun violence in the United States.”

And, as typical, they separate themselves by skin color. Perhaps they should read the Colorado Bill Of Rights

Section 13. Right to bear arms. The right of no person to keep and bear arms in defense of his home, person and property, or in aid of the civil power when thereto legally summoned, shall be called in question; but nothing herein contained shall be construed to justify the practice of carrying concealed weapons.

Seems pretty clear. Perhaps the black and brown moms should teach their kids better, since, just like nationally, black and brown people are murdered/shot with guns and are the shooters way, way, way more than their population.

Meanwhile

(Axios) President Biden is again asking Congress to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines following a mass shooting in Allen, Texas, on Saturday.

“Too many families have empty chairs at their dinner tables. Republican Members of Congress cannot continue to meet this epidemic with a shrug. Tweeted thoughts and prayers are not enough,” he continued.

Biden asked that Congress work quickly to send him a bill that would require safe storage for guns and enhance universal background checks for those seeking to buy guns.

“I will sign it immediately. We need nothing less to keep our streets safe,” he said.

Well, let’s start with banning the Secret Service and all those who protect the White House, Biden, Harris, Congress, and all Executive Office agencies, excluding the military, from carrying assault weapons. No rifle that has a pistol grip, flash suppressor, front grip, folding or telescopic stock or has a magazine that holds more than 5 rounds. Nothing automatic. No 50 caliber. All those that show up in 1994 ban and any recent bans. We’ll try this for 5 years, see how they enjoy it.

Since Phasing Out Fossil Fuels Hasn’t Worked, A New Idea For COP28

Will the idea be to hold the next IPCC COP virtually, rather than having tens of thousands of Warmists take fossil fueled travel, along with the hundreds who fly in on private jets? Maybe the U.N. will recommend that all Warmists give up their own use of fossil fuels?

Phasing Out Fossil Fuels Hasn’t Worked. Europe Has a New Idea for COP28

st greta carNear the end of the United Nations climate summit in Sharm El-Sheikh last year, European Union climate chief Frans Timmermans offered a grand bargain to break the deadlock in the two-week negotiations.

The 27-member bloc would consent to the creation of a finance facility to pay for loss and damage caused by climate change, fulfilling a demand made by developing countries. But the EU’s support would come only if all countries agreed on a stronger commitment to eliminate the use of fossil fuels. The loss-and-damage fund promise made it into the final deal at COP27; the stronger agreement to phase out fossil fuels did not. (big snip)

Al Jaber said at last week’s climate event that diplomats should focus on phasing out emissions from oil and gas, rather than eliminating those fuels themselves. That’s seen as leaving the door open for burning oil and gas while scaling up carbon capture technologies.

So, technologies that do not work, to allow people to continue using reliable, dependable, affordable fossil fuels.

So the question is how the EU will go about its goal to speed up the pace of emissions cuts. In Sharm El-Sheikh last year, the bloc was part of a push by India to expand language adopted at COP26 on phasing down coal to gas and oil. Timmermans also wanted a pledge to peak emissions from the energy sector by 2025. The effort failed amid lobbying from Saudi Arabia, China and Russia, which convinced the summit’s Egyptian presidency to drop the idea.

Has anyone considered actually asking the peasants whether they like this plan? Because they’re the ones who will suffer. And, of course, most polls show that citizens do not want any of these cult initiatives to negatively affect their own lives.

In the meantime, a separate global goal to boost energy efficiency could be easier to achieve, according to a European official familiar with the matter. The EU has already agreed on a target to reduce energy consumption. This official said that at COP28 there may be a push for a global goal that instead focuses on lowering energy intensity, or the amount of energy needed to generate a unit of output.

“Why aren’t we more forthcoming in here about the reduction of our energy use?” Timmermans said at last week’s climate event. “Especially the major emitters, the major industrialized countries. There is much, much more that we can do on energy efficiency than we are doing now.”

Of course, what they really means is that you peasants will be forced to reduce your own use of energy. Sounds fun, right!

LOL: NYC Agencies Ordered To Use Their Property And People For Illegal Aliens

It’s all fun and games, proclaiming to be a sanctuary city and Supporting all things illegal alien, right up till it’s not happening over their, but, in your own backyard

NYC agencies ordered to use their properties, staff for migrant housing and services as city hits crisis point

Mayor Adams’ office is ordering all city government agencies to identify properties they own that can be converted into emergency housing for asylum seekers as the local migrant crisis continues to deepen.

Camille Varlack, Adams’ chief of staff, issued the directive in a Sunday letter to all agency heads. The letter, which was obtained by the Daily News, also asks all agency brass to check if they have any employees who’d be willing to help staff new migrant housing facilities.

“With more asylum seekers arriving daily, this influx has pushed our shelter system to a breaking point and we need to create emergency temporary sites,” Varlack wrote.

Sites that could be retrofitted into migrant housing must be at least 10,000 square feet, have running water and feature “open layout spaces” where rows of bunk beds can be set up, according to Varlack’s missive. Sites should have “no known health hazards,” she added.

Varlack asked agency leaders to submit a list of sites that could potentially be repurposed as housing by 5 p.m. Tuesday.

I wonder how many they will find that qualify. Almost none, I’m guessing, because these illegal alien supporters want Someone Else to deal with the issue, preferably far away from NYC. I also wonder if the NY Daily News will follow up to see which sites reported they were capable and had staffing. Hey, will they be using their mayor’s mansion?

It’s a plus if workers can speak Spanish, and Varlack said they will be eligible for “overtime/flex-time” pay.

Easy money, eh? Which will spike NYC’s spending more. But, this is what they wanted when they proclaimed sanctuary city status, right? They should be ecstatic that their hard earned tax dollars will be going to support illegal aliens instead of city services.

Meanwhile in Maine

(Portland Press Herald) Dozens of asylum seekers have arrived in Sanford in the past week looking for assistance, but local officials say they cannot provide any more emergency housing and are asking others not to come to the city.

Last week, 23 families showed up at City Hall. Another 30 people arrived over the weekend. But officials say it’s not clear why asylum seekers are turning to Sanford for help. The city does not have a shelter or other resources to deal with a large influx of homeless people. Its hotels are already full.

Some came from Portland, where an emergency shelter at the Expo Center set aside for these families has been full for nearly a month.

Suck it up, buttercups. You supported this, now you got it.
