It’s the only policy Biden has that is somewhat responsible, so, of course a Leftist judge has ruled against it
Judge knocks down Biden’s asylum policy as illegal border crossings dip
A federal judge Tuesday blocked the Biden administration’s new regulation restricting asylum-seekers, one that contributed to a severe drop in crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border over the past few months.
U.S. District Judge Jon Tigar, an Obama appointee in Oakland, Calif., knocked down the restrictions as “arbitrary and capricious,” while staying his ruling for 14 days to give the Biden administration an opportunity to appeal. Tigar also halted a similar measure — the Trump administration’s so-called transit ban — a few years ago, joking during last week’s hearing that he heard “2023 was going to be a big year for sequels.”
The judge’s 35-page ruling marks the latest legal hurdle facing the Biden administration’s immigration policy, which has faced multiple challenges from both ends of the political spectrum. Tigar’s decision jeopardizes the administration’s strictest deterrence measure to date and comes as illegal border crossings have plunged to their lowest level since President Joe Biden’s first full month in office.
Tigar detailed a series of legal faults with the Biden asylum rule, including its basis on outdated or inaccurate assumptions and that it was made available for public comment during an abbreviated 33-day window. The judge raised particular concern about the administration’s effort to require most asylum applicants to present themselves at established ports of entry, rather than claiming asylum after crossing between border posts.
“The Court concludes that the Rule is contrary to law because it presumes ineligible for asylum noncitizens who enter between ports of entry, using a manner of entry that Congress expressly intended should not affect access to asylum,” Tigar wrote.
The judge may be correct, because Congress writes a lot of dumb laws, and also writes a lot of laws without any idea what the effect will be because they do not read it, do not analyze it, and so many are just way too big. The Biden DOJ says they will appeal and defend the asylum rule. Will they defend it hard? Or, was this just Joe throwing something out there to appear to be Doing Something, possibly knowing that a judge would rule against it, considering that the same judge ruled against it under Trump?
Biden’s “asylum ban,” released in May and set to expire in two years, bars some migrants from applying for humanitarian protection if they cross the border illegally or fail to first apply for safe harbor while crossing through another country on the way to the U.S. The rule is not applied to certain migrants, including unaccompanied children, asylum-seekers who enter at a legal port of entry or those fleeing “imminent” harm.
It really should apply to every single “migrant”. And not applying it to those certain “migrants” just emboldens them to show up in mass and send their children on a long, dangerous trek. What’s the chance of Congress passing a simple law stating “all those seeking asylum must apply outside the U.S., not at the border or if already in the U.S.”?
It’s a real shame when the more extreme cultists come after those who think they are climate cult leaders
Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo was escorted out of a D.C. event that was interrupted by rowdy climate change protestors on Tuesday.
Raimondo was speaking at a Wilson Center event entitled “A Conversation on the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework” on Tuesday afternoon. She was onstage with economist Sadek Wahba when protestors barged in.
“We have to be present. And so for the five years before President Biden took office, the United States was not present economically in these regions,” Raimondo said to Wahba. “We didn’t even, you know, have a framework for engagement, I would say…”
Environmental protestors promptly interrupted the event and began chanting “We need clean air, not another billionaire” and “End fossil fuels, Gina” while the dumbfounded speakers looked on.
Footage shows Raimondo laughing and saying something to Wahba during the awkward interruption. The protestors wore t-shirts that read “END FOSSIL FUELS” and linked arms with each other.
The demonstrators obstinately chanted “Clean air, not another billionaire” for around three minutes. They were confronted by security guards before Raimondo was eventually taken off the stage.
Raimondo has done things like
So, it’s not like she’s not a fellow climate cult traveler. She just learned that the climate cult leaders enabled a bunch of complete wackos and it’s coming back to bite them in the butts.

McCarthy edges back from the brink of a Biden impeachment inquiry
Kevin McCarthy edged back from the brink of an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden on Tuesday, less than a day after suggesting his party was close to announcing one.
The speaker set off a Washington kerfuffle Monday night when he told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that he believed the House GOP’s investigations into Hunter Biden’s business dealings were “rising to the level of [an] impeachment inquiry,” presumably into his father.
But during lengthy Tuesday question-and-answer sessions with reporters, McCarthy said his televised remarks were not meant as an announcement of any new steps. Instead, the California Republican clarified that the myriad of allegations he is seeing from Republicans’ investigations “could” eventually merit an impeachment inquiry.
“I wasn’t announcing it,” McCarthy said of his Fox News comments. “I simply said that the actions that I’m seeing by this administration — withholding the agencies from being able to work with us, that would rise to the level of an impeachment inquiry.”
“We … still have a number of investigations going forward now. The committees are working in good faith. They’re finding new information all the time,” McCarthy added.
He later took to Twitter with a similar dialing back of the tone he took on Fox, writing: “If evidence continues to rise to the level of an impeachment inquiry, House Republicans will act.”
So, Washington-speak, or, getting squishy? Is he trying to set up a 2024 impeachment hearing and vote? Lord knows there’s way more information on Biden’s criminal actions than there ever was on Trump. All these GOP insiders must have seen this over the years and decades. But, is McCarthy reading some tea leaves from the GOP squishes? Only a few Democrats voted against impeaching Trump both times: what’s the chance that at least 10-15 Republicans vote against impeaching Biden? Heck, will they vote against an actual inquiry? There are just too many in the GOP who do not understand that politics is a dirty, nasty game with a veneer of civility, and that Democrats dropped all civility during the Bush years, and have only gotten worse.
What it looks like McCarty is attempting to do is put together a ton of different issues, like border security, bribery, extortion, double dealing, violating the Constitution, and more, when he should just focus on 1 or 2 issues, especially Biden’s graft and shady deals. McCarthy wants to make it too complicated, and, sure, there are not enough votes in the Senate, but, if the simple case is rock solid, you never know.
Meanwhile, some people are whining over Grassley releasing a *checks notes* unclassified document on Biden’s shading dealings
(The Hill) Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is in the political spotlight as Democrats and critics attack him for releasing a lightly-redacted document detailing unfounded allegations of Biden family corruption and bribery and conservatives praise his move in the name of transparency.
The eight-term senator has had a storied career, particularly on investigative matters, where he has long been considered a champion of whistleblower protections.
But critics say his decision late last week to release the tip to the FBI, memorialized in an FD-1023 form, put a chink in that armor. The FBI admonished Grassley and other senators for releasing the form, saying it “risks the safety” of the confidential source, who claims the Bidens “pushed” a Ukrainian oligarch to pay them $10 million.
Blah blah blah, that’s what these critics are worried about, not Biden’s criminal activity.
You do know this is your fault, right? If only you had simply Complied. Anyhow, the talking points have gone out
Atlantic Ocean current could collapse soon. How you may endure dramatic weather changes.
Now this could be something to really worry about.
The Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) – a large system of ocean currents that carry warm water from the tropics into the North Atlantic – could collapse by the middle of the century, or possibly any time from 2025 onward, because of human-caused climate change, a study published Tuesday suggests.
Such a collapse could trigger rapid weather and climate changes in the U.S., Europe and elsewhere. If it were to happen, it could bring about an ice age in Europe and sea-level rise in cities such as Boston and New York, as well as more potent storms and hurricanes along the East Coast.
Wait, what? The last time this happened it brought on the Little Ice Age, and sea levels went down. That’s what happens during cooling periods. As far as storms and hurricanes, there really is no data on the effects of a long term cooling period. We do know that hurricane activity was pretty bad during the slight cooling between the 1950’s and late 1970’s.
Earlier studies about the AMOC collapse drew comparisons to the scientifically inaccurate 2004 disaster movie “The Day After Tomorrow,” which used such an ocean current shutdown as the premise of the film.
If you’re using a movie as reference, you’re not playing with science.
“We estimate a collapse of the AMOC to occur around mid-century under the current scenario of future emissions,” the study authors write. (snip)
Using new statistical tools and ocean temperature data from the past 150 years, researchers calculated that the AMOC will stop – with 95% certainty – between 2025 and 2095. “Using new and improved statistical tools, we’ve made calculations that provide a more robust estimate of when a collapse is most likely to occur, something we had not been able to do before,” said study co-author Susanne Ditlevsen, a professor at the University of Copenhagen.
That’s a pretty wide range, hence why the URL for the USA Today article says “atlantic-current-collapse-possible-in-two-years-study-suggests”, which means they changed the headline at some point to not be too alarmist, unlike that Daily Beast one. The New Scientist also pushes as soon as 2025. The Washington Post one is amusing in they a “sign” has been seen, as if this was Madame Zelda at the carnival….oh, right, that’s exactly how their “science” works.
Who pays the price when this doesn’t happen? Of course, eventually it will. That’s the nature of the natural forces on the Earth. I wonder if the “scientists” are seeing that the Earth will soon flip to a cooling period, and want to Blame it on Mankind.

This must mostly be about Trump supporters, since it is in the UK Guardian, right?
‘Anger and radicalization’: rising number of Americans say political violence is justified
The June federal indictment of Donald Trump is “radicalizing” support for the use of force on behalf of the former president and current presidential candidate, according to the author of a recent survey about threats to democracy.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the aisle, support for violence to restore the federal right to an abortion has also increased over the last few months, researchers found, although there’s little indication that any organized groups support acting on this belief.
The Dangers to Democracy report indicates that a growing number of Americans support the use of political violence as the 2024 presidential campaign heats up and further indictments of Trump are likely imminent.
“The indictment is radicalizing support for Trump, but that’s not the only source of radicalization,” said Robert Pape, a University of Chicago professor who led the research. “You’re seeing growing anger and radicalization on the left as well.”
I like how it’s position as “oh, yeah, some democrats are supporting it, but, hey, those Trump folks!”
The number of Americans who believe the use of force is justified to restore Trump to the White House increased by roughly 6 million in the last few months to an estimated 18 million people, according to the survey conducted by the university in late June and shared exclusively with the Guardian.
Of those 18 million people, 68% believe that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump and 62% believe the prosecutions of Trump are intended to hurt his chances in 2024. An estimated 7% of Americans now believe violence could be necessary to restore Trump to the presidency, up from 4.5%, or 12 million people, in April.
Seven percent! That’s horrible!
The university’s Chicago Project on Security & Threats (CPost) research center has been conducting Dangers to Democracy surveys of American adults on political violence and attitudes towards democracy since shortly after the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol.
The Chicago Project is a pretty darned left wing center, and should probably take a drive through parts of Chicago to see real violence. After a few more paragraphs on Trump
Democrats, however, expressed support for political violence for a different purpose. The survey found support for the use of force to coerce members of Congress to “do the right thing” grew from 9% in January to 17% – an estimated 44 million Americans – at the end of June, with the sharpest rise among Democrats. Support for violence to restore the federal right to an abortion also increased during this time.
Seventeen percent. Talk about burying the lede. That’s a whole heck of a lot more than 7%. But, not surprising. Democrats have always been willing to use violence for their political beliefs. We saw this in 2020 with all the BLM/Antifa riots. We saw this at so many protests prior to January 6th when Democrat supporters were present.
But, that’s all glossed over in favor of more discussion on Trump and his supporters. One would think that 17% would be a pretty important number.
The survey also found that nearly 90% of Trump’s most radical supporters believe the federal government is run by a “deep state” of immoral people.
I’m not sure about immoral people, but, those in the federal bureaucracy and high ranking positions are definitely leftists willing to use their government positions to push their leftist agendas. Something I’ve said for a long time is that Progressives had long term plans going back to the beginning of the 20th Century about capturing sectors. First, they captured the government bureaucracies. And they did that. There aren’t a whole heck of a lot of Republicans working in government, and the hardcore leftists force the non-hardcore leftists, Independents, and even Republican leaners to comply. Among the others that the Progressives captured were the entertainment industry, news industry, and unions (who started out willing to use violence), hence, they can push the hardcore agenda and whip leftists up to commit violence.
Then they went after the FBI and CIA, because they couldn’t abolish them, but, did not like things like the way they went after Communists. And the US military. They couldn’t kill off the military in the late 70’s, so, they slowly infiltrated the military, and now they support people with severe mental illness, the trans folks. They infiltrated the church, so many support things that are against the Bible, and have gone all SJW. They’ve made the environmental movement radical, and many of them and their climate cult folks are fine with political violence. They gather the sports and music folks, who live 1%er lives but are happy to push the government line. Push that government is great.
All these leftists are supporting political violence to support government tyranny.

Is there anything it can’t do? Is there any length the climate cultists won’t go to in order to fearmonger?
Hurricane season is getting longer because of climate change, researchers say
Hurricane season, which officially runs from June 1 to Nov. 30, is getting longer because of climate change, researchers say.
“Seven of the last eight years we’ve had named storms form before hurricane season officially began on June 1. We technically had a named storm in January of 2023,” Barry Keim, Louisiana’s state climatologist and an LSU professor, said in a press release.
Keim and other researchers analyzed historic storm data and found hurricane season is starting earlier and ending later. He worked with other researchers from LSU, the University of New Hampshire, Colorado State University and the Southern Climate Impact Planning Program, a research collaborative.
Changing the official timeline of the season might allow coastal residents to be better prepared, the experts said.
“It makes sense to start thinking about hurricane season beginning before June 1 to help residents and emergency officials plan and prepare for storms,” Keim said. “We need to wrap our heads around that hurricanes are arriving earlier in the season.”
This couldn’t possibly have anything to do with it simply being a typical Holocene warm period, right? Not in climate cult world, where this is your fault. Yet, for all that, NOAA predicted a normal hurricane season. So far there have been just 5 storms, 4 which were just tropical storms, and one category 1 hurricane.

Really, Greg Abbott should ship many busloads to the leading news outlets. Drop them off at the home offices, see if ABC News, CNN, NY Times, etc will offer to feed and shelter the illegals. And at the US home office of the Associated Press, 200 Liberty Street, NYC
Texas is using disaster declarations to install buoys and razor wire on the US-Mexico border
Wrecking ball-sized buoys on the Rio Grande. Razor wire strung across private property without permission. Bulldozers changing the very terrain of America’s southern border.
For more than two years, Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has escalated measures to keep migrants from entering the U.S., pushing legal boundaries with a go-it-alone bravado along the state’s 1,200-mile (1,930-kilometer) border with Mexico. Now blowback over the tactics is widening, including from within Texas.
A state trooper’s account of officers denying migrants water in 100-degree Fahrenheit (37.7 Celsius) temperatures and razor wire leaving asylum-seekers bloodied has prompted renewed criticism. The Mexican government, some Texas residents along the border and the Biden administration are pushing back. On Monday, the U.S. Justice Department sued Abbott over the buoy barrier that it says raises humanitarian and environmental concerns, asking a federal court to require Texas to dismantle it.
They can get their own water. They voluntarily trekked through Central America to show up. If they’re worried about getting hurt, don’t try and cross into the U.S. at non-designated points. This is on them. It’s the government’s job to defend the nation from invasion
Abbott, who cruised to a third term in November while promising tougher border crackdowns, has used disaster declarations as the legal bedrock for some measures.
The article spends pretty much no time explaining the declarations, but, they go back several years, such as the one he renewed in 2021. Texas counties have declared them, as well. How many laws has Biden broken with his open borders policy? Since he won’t enforce these laws the governor of Texas should have the right to use any means necessary, short of armed conflict, to keep illegal’s out. Why should Texas have to foot the bill for Bidens illegal policies?
Anyhow, many illegal aliens supporters, like the ACLU, are very upset with Abbott, but, aren’t offering to shelter and feed the illegals themselves. Regardless, the goal here is to control the border, a core duty of the government. Especially the Congress. It’s written in the Constitution, and, since they make the laws, it’s up to the Executive Branch to enforce those laws.

Everything will now be a climate cult job
Need a job? Hiring to flourish in these fields as humans fight climate change.
Climate change is reshaping the employment landscape, whether you want a career that helps the planet or just want a job in a growing field.
Environmental and sustainability studies are booming in colleges, with Millennials especially wanting to work for companies that are making a difference. A survey of Gen Z and Millennial workers found more than 40% either have or plan to change jobs due to climate concerns.
Well, most are still probably better than whatever is available for the degree they put themselves $100k in the hole for, especially things ending in “Studies”.
Truth be told, in the coming decades every job will have a climate component, whether it’s financiers, doctors and nurses, farmers, accountants, sustainability officers or policymakers, said Anthony Leiserowitz, director of the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication
“It’s hard to imagine a field of employment that won’t need at least some expertise on climate change,” he said.
A job title doesn’t need to include the words “green,” “climate,” “sustainable” or “environment” for the work to be important to efforts to both stop global warming and deal with its effects.
This is a cult. And they want everything to be part of their cult, whether people like it or not. What are some mentioned?
And the stuff that goes with all these is just as wackadoodle, such as for Gardner
As droughts and excess rainfall increase, America’s lawns, gardens and public spaces will need to be redesigned to deal with the new realities. People will be needed who know the right plants for the right space, who can design drip irrigation systems and who can build landscape features that channel water to the right places. “A landscape transformation is coming and gardeners will be key,” said Pincetl.
In other words, people who will be empowered by government to tell you what you can and cannot do with your property. It’s all just nuts. Really, though, how many of these entitled kids will do any of these manual labor jobs? They’ve been taught that they’re better than that. They expect some sort of spreading awareness/supervisory job making big bucks to do nothing except tell other people what to do while they take selfies and TikTok videos.
