Nothingburger? Trump Hosts Conspiracy Theorist Liz Crokin

I have absolutely no idea who Liz Crokin is, and, until it was explained in the story, what Pizzagate is. The question here is “is this something that could hurt Trump, or a big nothingburger?”

Trump hosts event featuring QAnon, ‘Pizzagate’ conspiracy theorist at Mar-a-Lago

A prominent adherent of the QAnon and “Pizzagate” conspiracy theories posed for photos with former President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort Tuesday night after speaking at an event hosted at the club, according to photos and videos posted to social media.

The event came two weeks after Trump had dinner at Mar-a Lago with rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, who recently spoke positively about Hitler, and far-right YouTuber Nick Fuentes, who the Department of Justice has labeled a white supremacist. The meeting sparked outrage despite Trump’s claim he did not know who Fuentes was.

Videos and photos posted to social media appear to show Liz Crokin, a prominent promoter of QAnon and pro-Trump conspiracy theories, speaking at an event at Mar-a-Lago and later posing for photos with Trump. In one photo, the duo make a “thumbs up” sign together.

Does anyone remember Obama yammering with an unhinged lunatic who eats cereal in a bathtub of milk? Or Biden constantly consorting with a guy who likes to do hard drugs and hang with hookers, and screw around with his dead brother’s wife? Oh, right, that’s Hunter.

According to social media posts, the event was billed as a fundraiser in support of a “documentary” on sex trafficking — one of the pillars of the QAnon conspiracy theory. The website for the film, which includes multiple falsehoods and claims of mass sex-trafficking in Hollywood, boasts that it is “Banned by YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and PayPal.”

Mar-a-Lago often hosts events for outside groups.

“You are incredible people, you are doing unbelievable work, and we just appreciate you being here and we hope you’re going to be back,” Trump said in remarks to the crowd, according to a video of his speech.

The wild thing is that, since this is being posited by a Republican, the media wants nothing to do with investigating sex trafficing. What if they’re right? I have no idea, haven’t read a thing about it.

That said, is this another unforced error which comes back to bite Trump in the 2024 general election, provided he wins the primaries? He really, really, really should be doing everything possible to position himself as sane, rational, a guy with a plan to actually help, and much better choice than Biden or someone else the Dems put up. Someone in the comments writes

Just my opinion but I think he knows exactly what he is doing. He’s cultivating as much of a hard core fringe following as he can. The people most likely to go to extremes for him. If he wants to do a 3rd party run if the republican party rejects him then he’ll destroy any chance of a conservative winning the presidency because his base will follow him wherever he wants them to go. Trump not only gets mad but he gets even if he can.

He could have a point. Anyhow, remember, these posts are not about being anti-Trump, they’re about electability. He’s making himself unelectable. And little things like this will always be magnified by the Credentialed Media.

Your Fault: Rice And Coffee Will Be Mostly Gone In 30 Years

Coffee and rice have pretty much survived multiple warm and cool periods through the Holocene. While coffee beans go back much further, the first use of them as modern coffee goes back to the 1400s. Rice goes back at least 10,000 years. But, because you refuse to put yourself in debt to get an EV, send your money to government to redistribute, and surrender your freedom, they could maybe possibly be gone

Former White House Chef Sam Kass Says Products Like Coffee, Rice Will Be ‘Largely Unavailable’ in 30 Years

Worsening climate change threatens the future of our food, according to former White House chef Sam Kass.

Kass not only served as the Obama family’s primary chef in the White House, but he also took on policy work while in D.C., serving as the executive director of former first lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move initiative and becoming the White House’s first-ever senior adviser on nutrition. Now, he is turning his attention on creating a discussion about sustainable food and agriculture practices.

“A number of foods that we hold very dear to our hearts and largely take for granted are under a real threat,” Kass tells PEOPLE. “And you’re seeing in the future, we’re on track for a lot of those to become quite scarce and some really to be largely unavailable to most people and others just significantly increased in cost.”

Such products include everything from wine and chocolate to coffee, shellfish and rice, he says.

He adds: “Food and agriculture is the number two driver of greenhouse gas emissions globally and uses about 70% of the world’s waters. It’s the number one driver of deforestation, land use change. It’s really at the center of a lot of these environmental issues.”

So, what’s his solution? The article doesn’t really say.

Kass emphasized this sentiment at the “$500 Dinner” last week in New York City. The name of the Knorr-sponsored dinner was not based on diners’ bills; instead, the “$500 Dinner” was an event where Kass served a meal that cost $72 per person to make today — but in 30 years, the same dinner would cost $566.

mule fritter sherman potter

What happens if this doesn’t happen? Will anyone even remember his prognostication of doom and call him on it? These same types of people have been predicting environmental food doom for 50 years. In past centuries they blamed it on witches. Just a scam.

Christian Group Denied Service At Restaurant, Media Seems OK With This

These are the same Credentialed Media outlets who get upset over bakers refusing to make cakes for gay marriages, biological men told they can’t be on women’s teams, that crossdressers shouldn’t be reading to children, and that drag shows should not allow kids to attend, and they want to get government to force people to accept these things. But, if it a Christian group gets denied? I’m not finding any outlet that says it’s wrong

Restaurant refuses service to Christian group, citing staff ‘dignity’

A restaurant in Richmond last week canceled a reservation for a private event being held by a conservative Christian organization, citing the group’s opposition to same-sex marriage and abortion rights.

“We have always refused service to anyone for making our staff uncomfortable or unsafe and this was the driving force behind our decision,” read an Instagram post from Metzger Bar and Butchery, a German-influenced restaurant in the Union Hill neighborhood whose kitchen is helmed by co-owner Brittanny Anderson, a veteran of TV cooking shows including “Top Chef” and “Chopped.” “Many of our staff are women and/or members of the LGBTQ+ community. All of our staff are people with rights who deserve dignity and a safe work environment. We respect our staff’s established rights as humans and strive to create a work environment where they can do their jobs with dignity, comfort and safety.”

The group, the Family Foundation, was set to host a dessert reception for supporters on Nov. 30, the group’s president, Victoria Cobb, wrote in a blog post describing the incident. About an hour and a half before it was slated to start, one of the restaurant’s owners called to cancel it, she wrote. “As our VP of Operations explained that guests were arriving at their restaurant shortly, she asked for an explanation,” Cobb wrote. “Sure enough, an employee looked up our organization, and their wait staff refused to serve us.”

Now, if this was a pro-abortion or pro-gender confused group, the media would be freaking out, attempting to cancel the restaurant. Since it was a Christian group? Crickets. Because, apparently, there is dignity in supporting irresponsible, unprotected sex resulting in an unwanted pregnancy, using abortion as birth control. And it’s “unsafe” to…..serve people food who have different views on the subject of gay marriage and abortion on demand.

In an interview, Cobb said that since she posted about it, she has heard from people alarmed by the story and from other dining establishments making it clear they would be welcome. “A lot of people are outraged that a restaurant wants to make a litmus test at the door,” she said. “Everyone should be concerned that people are being denied service based on their politics.”

It’s pretty dumb, and, really, highlights that Americans, especially Democrats, have made politics the central point of their lives. Democrats are very, very Outraged and un-accomodating to those who do not toe the Leftist line. But, really, a business does have the right to refuse service, do they not? And then they can deal with the fallout.

Restaurants have made news for taking issue with their patrons’ politics. Sarah Sanders, then the White House press secretary and now the governor-elect of Arkansas, was asked to leave the Red Hen in Lexington, Va., in 2018. The owner of the restaurant, Stephanie Wilkinson, wrote that she thought Sanders was “a person whose actions in the service of our country we felt violated basic standards of humanity.” And a judge in 2018 sided with a New York bar that ejected a customer for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat in support of President Donald Trump.

Notice that it’s almost always Leftist run places doing this. They’re just a bit unhinged.

Good News: Oxfordshire To Trial Climate (scam) Lockdowns

Hmm, perhaps that graphic I made in 2020 and mentioned many, many times since wasn’t so out of bounds (via Watts Up With That? and Jo Nova)

Oxfordshire County Council Pass Climate Lockdown ‘trial’ to Begin in 2024

Oxfordshire County Council yesterday approved plans to lock residents into one of six zones to ‘save the planet’ from global warming. The latest stage in the ’15 minute city’ agenda is to place electronic gates on key roads in and out of the city, confining residents to their own neighbourhoods.

Under the new scheme if residents want to leave their zone they will need permission from the Council who gets to decide who is worthy of freedom and who isn’t. Under the new scheme residents will be allowed to leave their zone a maximum of 100 days per year, but in order to even gain this every resident will have to register their car details with the council who will then track their movements via smart cameras round the city.

Communism will make the weather better.

Oxfordshire County Council, which is run by Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the Green Party, secretly decided to divide-up the city of Oxford into six ‘15 minute’ districts in 2021 soon after they were elected to office. None of the councillors declared their intention of imprisoning local residents in their manifestos of course, preferring to make vague claims about how they will ‘improve the environment’ instead.

Every resident will be required to register their car with the County Council who will then monitor how many times they leave their district via number plate recognition cameras. And don’t think you can beat the system if you’re a two car household. Those two cars will be counted as one meaning you will have to divide up the journeys between yourselves. 2 cars 50 journeys each; 3 cars 33 journeys each and so on.

Well, hey, Oxfordshire residents, you voted for this when you elected these left wing wackjobs, so, you’re good with this, right? You don’t mind being treated as commoners controlled by your Betters, right?

Eric Worrel at WUWT writes: The “15 Minute City” concept mentioned by Councillor Duncan Enright is intimately tied to sustainability and climate goals. From Introducing the “15-Minute City”: Sustainability, Resilience and Place Identity in Future Post-Pandemic Cities :-

And Jo Nova says “Apparently, not enough people are catching buses or riding bikes. But instead of making that more appealing, the totalitarians will force it through tracking and fines. Oxfordshire has just approved on November 29th, the “traffic filters” trial which will turn the city into a “fifteen minute city”. The Trial will start in Jan 2024.”

Also: And lookout —  the 15 minute city is not just Oxford, but turning up in BrisbaneMelbourneBarcelona, Paris, Portland and Buenos Aires. It’s everywhere.

You can bet the Progressives (nice Fascists, meaning, they’re doing this for your own good, not that they’re actually nice) want this to come to more cities. They saw how people Complied during COVID lockdowns, and think they can make this happen for the climate scam.

Republicans Make Compromise On Getting Rid Of Military Vaccine Mandate

The Hill positions this as if the Democrats are giving something up, but, this is mostly them throwing a bone to Republicans

Democrats make major concession on vaccine mandate

Congress is poised to use the annual defense policy bill to eliminate the Pentagon’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate — a major concession by President Biden’s Democratic allies that helps clear the way to passing the sweeping package before year’s end.

In a compromise with Republicans, House Democrats are allowing language into the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that repeals the coronavirus vaccine mandate for U.S. service members a year after it was enacted, House Armed Services Committee ranking member Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) confirmed to The Hill Tuesday.

The bill, which lays out how an $847 billion Defense Department top line will be allocated in fiscal 2023, is tentatively set to be released as early as Tuesday evening and voted on by the House Thursday, Rogers said. (snip)

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), who is vying for the Speaker’s gavel in the next Congress, said on Sunday that the NDAA “will not move” unless the mandate for the military is lifted through the bill. (snip)

The compromise is effectively a loss for the White House and Pentagon, which have both opposed using the NDAA to repeal the vaccine mandate.

But

One thing not expected in the bill, however, is language to reinstate troops, sailors and airmen who were discharged or received penalties for declining the vaccine, a provision GOP lawmakers hoped to insert in the legislation.

So, Democrats get a massive bill full of lots of left wing garbage attached to a Defense bill in exchange for getting rid of a vaccine mandate, which Biden and Lloyd will most likely ignore, all while throwing all the military folks who were thrown out (and usually support Conservatives) to the trash heap.

Democrats Attempting to Pack Defense Bill with ‘Grab Bag’ of Unrelated Policies

“The real inside story here is what Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi are doing to try to hold this defense bill hostage. We pass it every year,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said on Fox News on Tuesday.

“We pass it every year for 60 years. It’s vital for our national security and for our troops. They want to add on all kinds of extraneous non defense measures like a payoff for liberal media companies to form a cartel to work with Big Tech that’ll hurt center-right media outlets, or allowing marijuana distributors to engage in the banking system, or paying off Joe Manchin for his vote for their trillion dollar bill spending bill this summer,” he added. (snip)

It has passed for 62 years without fail — one of the rare pieces of legislation to do so. However, this year, Democrats see the bill as a last-ditch vehicle to push through policies and reforms it will not be able to once Republicans take the House beginning January 3, 2023.

Will Republicans stand strong in the face of Democrats and the Credentialed Media smearing them, not telling the whole truth? LOL, made myself laugh with that.

Unintended Consequences Alert: California To “Punish” Fossil Fuels Companies Over High Prices

Why are gas prices so high in the People’s Republik Of California?

(Forbes) California’s astronomical retail gasoline prices have been caused by two issues: refinery shutdowns and California’s strict environmental laws, which require special gas blends.

California has its own unique gas market, according to Mark Agerton, assistant professor in the department of agricultural and resource economics at UC Davis. “California is an island for gas—we make it all here,” he says.

So, of course

‘Sick and tired’ of high gas prices, California seeks to punish oil companies with new penalty

California lawmakers on Monday introduced legislation to penalize oil companies for alleged price gouging, setting up a showdown with an industry that has long wielded political influence in the Golden State.

At the urging of Gov. Gavin Newsom, California Senate Budget Chair Nancy Skinner, D-Berkeley, proposed a new bill that would levy a penalty on oil companies when their profits exceeded a legally-established threshold. The money raised by the penalty would then be placed in a fund that would be directed back to taxpayers in the form of rebates.

But the initial bill language is vague, failing to define the profit threshold that oil companies would be penalized for exceeding and lacking an explanation of who would be eligible for the rebates. Newsom said those specifics will be sorted out over the course of the special session. (snip)

These guys have been gaming the system for decades,” Newsom said Monday about the oil and gas industry. “… I think we’ve got a lot of remarkable legislative leaders here that get it and they’re sick and tired of paying the price in terms of dirty air.”

Gaming the system? You mean the system the PRC set up? Fossil fuels are one of the most highly regulated industries in the PRC. If the state could prove gouging they would have already published that information. The system with all those regulations and restrictions? What can possibly go wrong with going this route? Less oil production? Less refining? Independent retailers, which is most, having to close shop?

You Too Can Be A Good Little Member Of Society By Voting, Getting Vaxxed, Supporting ‘Climate Change’ Action

These people sound fun. Essentially, they’ve turned all of life into the realm of politics (non-paywalled here)

Do you want to be a good member of society? Voting, climate change efforts are a start, survey says

You go to work. You pay your taxes. You vote, and you may even go to a place of worship regularly. But which of these actions, if any, make you a good citizen?

According to a survey by the Pew Research Center, voting is a huge part of it.

The center did a survey this spring in 19 countries, presenting respondents with a list of actions to find out just what makes someone a good citizen in the public eye. Countries included the U.S., Canada, Belgium, France, Germany, Japan and Singapore.

Respondents were asked how much they consider the following actions an important part of being a good member of society:

  • Voting
  • Making choices that help reduce the effects of climate change
  • Keeping up with current events in other countries
  • Keeping up with politics in your own country
  • Getting a coronavirus vaccine
  • Joining demonstrations about issues important to you
  • Attending religious services regularly

Nothing along the lines of limiting government? Being true to yourself? Being yourself? Taking care of your family? I’m sure you can think of a bunch not related to politics. Nice to see they put something non-political in their poll, the religious aspect. Here are the results

I’m guessing most who answered were leftists. Heck, perhaps most asked were leftists.

Anyhow, the USA Today digs deep into the numbers. I’m not going to cover it all, but

U.S. numbers showed the largest difference in this category; 64% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents said vaccines are very important, while 20% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents said it is very important.

Interesting. I guess not all Democrats are that brainwashed.

Being vaccinated and boosted didn’t stop Ted from getting it, eh?

Bummer: Youths Feel Betrayed On Government’s Inaction On Climate Crisis (scam)

These are the same people purchasing lots of disposable items and clothes to take fossil fueled trips for a few selfies and TikTok videos, streaming tons of content, and getting food and coffee delivered in fossil fueled vehicles

Young people feel betrayed by government inaction on climate change — we must take action

With the impacts of climate change accelerating, it’s worth remembering that young people have the most to lose. Seventy five percent of young people in the U.S. have indicated a moderate to extreme worry about climate change, while reporting feelings of betrayal and distrust with our government’s long delayed climate action. With Congress divided for the next two years, the best opportunity to remedy this now lies with the Biden administration.

The good news is that we have a powerful tool to combat climate change — the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). As former leaders of federal agencies, we know that the success of meeting the IRA emissions reductions potential rests in effective implementation. Luckily, the most just implementation strategy is also effective.

We can seek to repair young people’s justified distrust and reduce eco-anxiety with implementation of the IRA by advancing solutions that touch the lived experience of today’s young people. In a 2019 Washington Post poll, only 14 percent of teens indicated they had the opportunity to learn a lot about climate solutions in school. Now, with the IRA we can deploy clean energy solutions across America’s public schools enabling students to engage with climate solutions firsthand.

I suggest we ban them from uploading and watching all those carbon pollution intensive videos. No more food delivery. Install smart thermostats in their domiciles, keep the heat at 62, the AC at 82.

With nearly 100,000 schools across the country, public schools are among the largest consumers of energy in the public sector, and they operate the largest mass transit fleet in the country with 480,000 primarily diesel school buses. Currently only 9% of schools utilize solar, and less than 1 percent of America’s school bus fleet is electric. Yet, the demand for clean energy in schools is increasing. The Environmental Protection Agency recently doubled its first round of funding for the Clean School Bus program due to avid demand, with applicants in every state. Advancing climate solutions in schools has the potential to improve student health and learning while reducing annual costs for energy, maintenance, and operations.

Why can’t they walk or ride a bike instead, just cut the carbon footprint to almost zero.

Leaders of federal agencies can help our school systems understand their opportunities. For example, the IRS can provide guidance about how schools can take advantage of the clean energy tax incentives. Schools, like many other non-taxable organizations, will be able to access funding through the direct pay provisions. This can lower the upfront cost to install clean technology like geothermal heat pumps. Schools can still spend American Rescue Plan funding to replace HVAC systems—they need to understand how the credits in the IRA can make clean technology the most cost-effective option. For electric school buses, the clean commercial vehicle credits could help schools save up to $40,000 per bus.

Um, what? Public schools getting tax credits on the backs of the taxpayers? Plus, all those other measures come from the pockets of taxpayers.

The IRA gives young people a direct and effective conduit for activism and change. Students in cities like Salt Lake and Denver have pushed their school boards to pass resolutions to transition school districts to 100 percent clean energy. The funding opportunities the act provides can help students make their case for action even stronger.

Why don’t they start by making their own lives carbon neutral? Or is it just for Other People?
