White House Unable To Answer How The IRA Will Reduce Inflation For Citizens

Even after a month, where Brandon just celebrated a month since the bill was passed…

President Joe Biden celebrated the passage of the “Inflation Reduction Act” by hosting an event at the White House Tuesday, the same day the Bureau of Labor Statistics released a report showing inflation had continued to rise in August, causing markets to plummet. (snip)

The Bureau of Labor Statistics report, released Tuesday, showed that the Consumer Price Index (CPI), a key measure of inflation, increased by 8.3 percent in August when compared to the same month last year and increased 0.1 percent from July.

Many economists had predicted inflation would decline slightly in August. Markets nosedived on the news, with the Dow falling 1,250 points — the most since June of 2020.

Consumer wallets are also getting hit hard at the grocery store. The food index had the largest 12-month increase since May of 1979, rising 11.4 percent over the last year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics report.

…the White House cannot say what the IRA will do

Karine Jean-Pierre stumbles when pressed on so-called Inflation Reduction Act: ‘Is it fair?’

Joe Biden Ice Cream AfghanistanWhite House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre floundered when pressed on what the so-called Inflation Reduction Act will do for Americans in the short term Tuesday.

Reporters pressed Jean-Pierre during a White House press briefing, pointing out that the measures in the IRA aren’t expected to impact most Americans until later in the decade. Jean-Pierre listed a handful of programs subsidizing some purchases but did not point to examples of how the bill would cut inflation.

“What exactly would the inflation Reduction Act do to reduce inflation in the short term?” a reporter asked.

“Look, experts economists have said themselves that … the Inflation Reduction Act would be beneficial to let three hundred the extra three hundred billion dollars in deficit,” Jean-Pierre responded. “That is really important as we have right now $1.7 billion in deficit reduction under this administration. It would help lower that even more, which is incredibly important.”

And, good on the reporter for continuing to press the issue, because that is, as usual, a non-answer from Jean-Pierre

“Is it fair to suggest to people that somehow they’re going to see some inflation reduction right now while they’re hurting the most?” the reporter pressed.

“Well, that is actually not true,” Jean-Pierre said before listing several programs granting tax credits or rebates for installing things like home solar panels and energy-saving windows and doors.

So, if all you middle and working class would just spend a ton of money you don’t have to install solar panels and stuff, you’ll save money! Makes total sense. This is some serious Jimmy Carter wearing a sweater stuff, the Biden admin divorced from reality, and the GOP is blowing it by not bringing it up constantly.

Climate Crisis (scam) Is Making People Angrier Online

If only you would agree to give up your fossil fueled travel, pay lots of taxes and fees, and abdicate your freedom and life choices to government we could solve this

Climate Change Is Making People Angrier Online

Climate change is making us angrier online. A lot angrier.

Hateful comments spike on social media when temperatures rise above 30 degrees Celsius (86 Fahrenheit), researchers at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research have found.

“It’s an indicator of how well people can adapt to high temperatures,” said Annika Stechemesser, lead author of the study published in The Lancet Planetary Health earlier this month. “If temperatures go too hot or too cold, we found that there’s an increase in online hate speech, no matter the socioeconomic differences, religion or political beliefs.”

Global warming of about 1.1°C on average since pre-industrial times has unleashed all sorts of extreme weather events across the world. This summer, drought and a string of heat waves hit Europe, China and the US. For humans, heat is associated with psychiatric hospitalizations, increased rates of suicide and more domestic violence, according to research.

And aggressive behavior online has been linked to violence offline too. Incensed posts have led to more violence toward minorities, including mass shootings, lynchings and ethnic cleansing, according to the Council on Foreign Relations, a New York-based think tank.

LOL. Really. It could not possibly have anything to do with people just generally getting more crazy online, right? Funny how they never mention the lunatics who glue themselves to roads and trains and buses and such. Or, spike the tires of trucks. Or so much other climate cult lunacy. Seriously, these cultists will link everything to their doomsday cult beliefs.

Biden Outlines Plan To Beat Cancer Or Something

It’s definitely a worthy goal, let’s be clear, and it would be wonderful if there was an actual plan, but, like with most of his stuff, it’s more of a talking point

Biden outlines ambitious ‘moonshot’ effort to reduce cancer deaths in the U.S.

President Biden traveled to Boston on Monday to promote the cancer-fighting effort he first launched in February, with the goal of halving cancer death rates in the United States in the next 25 years.

“I give you my word as a Biden, this cancer moonshot is one of the reasons why I ran for president,” Biden said, describing it as part of his “unity agenda” of initiatives that even political opponents could support.

“Beating cancer is something we can do together,” the president said, noting that the disease does not discriminate between Republicans and Democrats.

So, what is he supposedly doing?

Ahead of the remarks, the White House announced a new biotechnology and biomanufacturing initiative, which is intended to galvanize sophisticated medical research and manufacturing in the United States. An accompanying executive order calls on federal agencies ranging from the Department of Agriculture to the Department of Homeland Security to focus on the effort.

The White House also appointed biomedical executive Dr. Renee Wegrzyn to lead the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, an agency created by Biden earlier this year, to “push the limits of U.S. biomedical and health research and innovation.” Wegrzyn will be the agency’s first leader.

The White House notice on Biden’s cancer-related remarks says that the National Cancer Institute has begun a four-year study intended to allow for cancer detection via a simple blood test, without having to resort to more invasive procedures like colonoscopies or biopsies.

Yeah, that’s pretty much all that is offered in the article. That trial is a good thing, especially for internal cancers. It might have been more worthwhile to allocate a lot more money for this than for the idiotic climate change scam stuff and so much other wasteful spending in the last few partisan bills.

This is what the fact sheet says

New Goals for the Cancer Moonshot
Based on the progress made and the possibility before us, President Biden today set new national goals for the Cancer Moonshot:

  • Working together over the next 25 years, we will cut today’s age-adjusted death rate from cancer by at least 50 percent.
  • We will improve the experience of people and their families living with and surviving cancer.

Taken together, these actions will drive us toward ending cancer as we know it today.

25 years is a long time to cut it by just 50%. That’s not a moon shot. But, in fairness, the rest of the fact sheet does have some details and more planning than what we saw under Obama. So, if he can get the ball rolling, fantastic. If future presidents keep it going, awesome. But, how about, again, allocating the money for this rather than other stuff that is dumb?

Your Fault: Brandon’s Beach House Faces “Extreme Flood Risk”

Was Let’s Go Brandon concerned when he bought the beach house in 2017?

Biden’s Delaware vacation home faces ‘extreme’ flood risk as climate change leads to rising seas

As he’s traveled the country to visit victims of storms, wildfires, and floods, President Joe Biden has returned to a similar theme: Climate change is “everybody’s crisis,” as he declared last year after surveying flooded-out New York homes in the wake of Hurricane Ida.

Strange that CNN’s Casey Tolan failed to note how often Biden takes fossil fueled trips in military helicopters, giant convoys of low MPG SUVs, and jumbo jets with accompanying fighter jets

Biden doesn’t say it explicitly, but that “everybody” includes himself. The President’s vacation home near Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, is in the middle of a flood zone, and an analysis by a climate research group shows that the house is facing “extreme” flooding risk that is expected to get more severe over time.

If you’re buying a house in an established flood zone, that’s on you. It’s at the beach, for goodness sakes! A lot of Rehoboth Beach is 22 or higher above sea level. Though, Chump bought his in a very low lying area (you can see where at the CNN story, with a graphic). Now, where I grew up in NJ, yeah, that was low lying, as is the NC shoreline.

That means the nation’s homeowner-in-chief is among the millions of Americans who are facing climate-linked danger to their properties — and he has a big personal financial stake in the fight against the climate crisis.

Biden’s multi-million-dollar vacation home, which he has visited nearly a dozen times during his presidency, is in a quiet community tucked between a canal, the wetlands of a state park, and the Atlantic Ocean. Delaware has the lowest average elevation of any state, leaving neighborhoods like his in danger of being swamped during storms.

Then he shouldn’t have bought it in 2017

The proximity to water from multiple directions comes with a downside. The home has an extreme risk of flooding — 10 on a scale of 10 — according to the climate research group First Street Foundation, which has used environmental science and computer modeling to estimate flood risk for every property in the US.

There’s a 98% chance of flood water reaching Biden’s house within the next five years, First Street found. Less than 5% of properties nationwide have as high a flood risk.

The home is in FEMA’s Special Flood Hazard Area — the zone that would be inundated during a 100-year flood. A rarer 500-year flood would be likely to inundate the property with just over 10 feet of water, according to First Street’s national model. As climate change advances, the same flood would be expected to reach a depth of 11.4 feet in 30 years.

That has nothing to do with climate doom. Of course, the Warmists are over-exaggerating the extreme risk.

Surprise: DOJ Serves 40 Subpoenas For J6 Committee

What, exactly, does any of this have to do with the January 6 idiocy? It’s just more proof that this is a fishing expedition, designed to go after Trump supporters and chill people’s Constitutional rights

Justice Department subpoenas dozens of Trump aides in apparent escalation of investigation, according to reports

The Justice Department issued dozens of subpoenas to Donald Trump’s aides and associates for information about the 2020 election and the Capitol attack on Jan. 6, 2021, according to The New York Times and CNN.

The flurry of subpoenas suggested the investigation, which is separate from the seizure of Trump administration documents from Mar-a-Lago, is picking up pace.

At least two Trump aides, Boris Epshteyn and Mark Roman, had their phones seized as evidence, according to the Times. Epshteyn declined comment.

The subpoenas seek information about the Trump campaign’s plan to organize alternate slates of electors in states President Joe Biden won. Epshteyn had copied on emails in late 2020 from Trump lawyer John Eastman, who developed the plan.

Eastman has already been subpoenaed and had his phone seized. Eastman earlier refused to answer questions from the House panel investigating the Capitol attack or a grand jury in Georgia based on his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

Another subpoena recipient was Bernard Kerik, the former New York City police commissioner, who coordinated the investigation of claims of voter fraud with Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani.

None of that has anything to directly with any of the violence, which there wasn’t much, and the people wandering through the Capitol Building on January 6th. Sure, they’ll say “if they weren’t doing this stuff, people wouldn’t have been mad.” If they want to do that, well, which Democrats do we hold responsible for violence on January 20th, 2016, when Trump was inaugurated? How about for all the violence in the wake of George Floyd?

(Kerik’s attorney) Parlatore said the department’s latest subpoena read as if the current investigation had no focus and asked Kerik about names he didn’t recognize.

“The normal DOJ subpoena looks like rifle shots,” Parlatore said. “This looks like a whole bunch of scatter-shot shotgun blasts, almost like a spray-and-pray mindset.”

You don’t say

(The Hill) Attorney Timothy Parlatore said the subpoena was served early last week when a team of FBI agents arrived at Kerik’s home. Parlatore would not share the subpoena, but described it as broad.

“Basically, give us anything and everything related to anybody that is tangentially related to the Trump campaign including a long, long laundry list,” he said.

So, basically a fishing expedition and intimidation tactics. And why is the DOJ doing the work of the Congressional J6 committee? Separation of Branches. This is a political witchhunt. They aren’t attempting to find out what happened over a year and a half ago.

White House Looks To Shut Down Bitcoin Mining Because Of ‘Climate Change’

It’s always something with these watermelon nutjobs

White House: Bitcoin Mining Must Be Greener—Or US Should Ban It

The White House today suggested that U.S. lawmakers and regulators could soon crack down on cryptocurrency mining because of its large carbon footprint.

In a Thursday report, mandated by President Biden in an executive order in March, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy said crypto miners should reduce greenhouse gas emissions, with help from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Department of Energy (DOE), and other federal agencies.

It proposed that the government collect more data on power usage from the industry, advance energy efficiency standards—and it promoted the “use of environmentally responsible crypto-asset technologies.”

But the White House also went as far to say that if measures to make mining greener don’t work, energy-intensive crypto mining, namely Bitcoin, could be banned altogether.

“Should these measures prove ineffective at reducing impacts, the Administration should explore executive actions, and Congress might consider legislation, to limit or eliminate the use of high energy intensity consensus mechanisms for crypto-asset mining,” the report said.

Well of course they’ll jump to banning it, which would then see the mining simply move to other countries. If they can’t handle the energy for this, how can they handle it for EVs?

(Barrons) The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy recommended in a report Friday that greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental impacts stemming from crypto “mining” should be limited. The team called for standards for low energy intensities, low water usage, low noise generation, clear energy usage by operators, and standards over carbon-free generation to match or exceed electricity load that tighten over time.

Mostly, it seems that these people who say Republicans are the Fascists want to control everything Bitcoin.

Biden Goes On Angry Rant About Airport Service While Afghanistan Continues To Melt Down

Perhaps his handlers need to increase his medications? This is rather funny for a guy who takes a private jet and helicopter and never has to wait, and screws up all the other flights coming in and out of airports he;s at

Joe Biden Scolds at Boston Airport: ‘What the Hell Is the Matter with Us?’

President Joe Biden expressed frustration about the state of American airports on Monday, even though he made funding for trains a greater priority in his infrastructure bill.

“America invented modern aviation, but we’ve allowed our airports to lag behind our competitors’,” Biden said.

The president spoke about airports during a visit to Logan International Airport in Boston to promote more government infrastructure spending.

He griped that the United States did not have any airports listed as the best in the world.

“Today, not a single solitary American airport, not one, ranks in the top 25 of the world,” he said, before growing angry.

“What in the hell’s the matter with us?!” he shouted.

And he went on and on and on, shouting at clouds. Of course, his infrastructure bill only allocated $25 billion for airports, while tasking $66 billion for railroads, most Amtrak, which not that many take.

Meanwhile

Afghanistan tipping ‘towards authoritarianism’, says U.N. rights expert

A U.N. expert said on Monday that human rights had deteriorated under the Taliban, describing a “staggering repression” of women and girls and a “descent towards authoritarianism”, while Afghan women urged the global body to act.

Richard Bennett, the U.N. Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Afghanistan, called for radical changes in the country.

“The severe rollback of the rights of women and girls, reprisals targeting opponents and critics, and a clampdown on freedom of expression by the Taliban amount to a descent towards authoritarianism,” he told a Human Rights Council meeting.

Afghanistan Ambassador Nasir Ahmad Andisha who represents the toppled government went further, describing a “gender apartheid” in the country.

Well, gee wiz, who could have foreseen this after Biden’s disastrous Afghanistan plan? We had to get out at some point, and, really, as long as they aren’t training Islamic jihadis and attacking the United States, there’s a point where we have to say “it’s not our concern.” But, you had to know this would happen with the Taliban back in charge. Now, imagine that Donald Trump was still president: how would the U.S. media be covering this?

We Need A New Paradigm For Check Climate Crisis (scam) Or Something

I would think that no exaggerating, not yammering about doom and gloom, not relying on computer models, being honest, and not changing data might be helpful. Oh, and not preaching Modern Socialist Big Government authoritarian policies

Why We Need an Alternative Paradigm for Checking Climate Change

While scientists and activists have done well to establish the urgency of checking climate change before it is too late, it is increasingly clear that the current paradigm of checking climate change is not working. Briefly, it has to be changed in ways which will link it very closely to checking militarism and inequalities while promoting peace and justice, preventing all wars, eliminating all WMDs (weapons of mass destruction) as well as eliminating all HBP (hypocrisy of big polluters).

A basic reason of the urgency of checking climate change is that it will change climate and daily weather conditions in ways that will make our once bountiful and beautiful planet increasingly inhospitable and then inhabitable for humanity and most other forms of life. However what climate change can cause in a few years or decades can be caused by WMDs within a few days if there is actual use, intended or accidental, of less than one per cent of the current stock of nuclear weapons (not to mention the destructive potential of several other WMDs). This one well-established factor should be adequate ( there are several others) to convince all sincere climate activists that both tasks—checking GHG emissions as well as eliminating WMDs—should be pursued together as the biggest challenge facing humanity.

These people

Military activities and equipment constitute the biggest single source of GHG emissions which is almost entirely avoidable in a peaceful world, and eliminating which will cause no decline in human welfare; it will only increase human welfare. Hence a future without wars and with the minimum military activity should be an integral part of climate activism. This should come with a guarantee that no military personnel will lose jobs or income; they will merely shift, with retraining, to such tasks as disaster prevention and rescue, ecological rehabilitation etc. It is only in conditions of peace and stability, and much increased international cooperation and understanding based on this, that the world will be able to resolve the most critical environmental problems including climate change.
