Bidenconomy: Half Of Companies Looking To Cut Employees

Too bad the federal government is not included in this. It could certainly use significant downsizing

Survey: Half of American Companies Set to Cut Jobs After Hiring Surge

Numerous companies across the United States are planning to trim their employee numbers, Fox Business reported Friday.

The outlet continued:

That’s according to a new survey published on Thursday by consultant PwC, which last month polled more than 700 U.S. executives and board members from various industries. About half of respondents said they are preparing to reduce headcount — or already have — while 52% have implemented hiring freezes.

On top of that, roughly 46% of companies are either dropping or reducing signing bonuses, which became commonplace over the past year as businesses tried to lure in new workers amid an increasingly tight labor market. Another 44% are rescinding offers entirely, the survey showed.

Home goods company Wayfair decided to cut approximately 870 workers to help manage operation costs and “realign its investment priorities” following the coronavirus pandemic, the Associated Press (AP) reported this week.

In the car business, staffing levels in many areas are down a third to a half. Many companies across the board have reduced hours, so, do not need as many employees. Many are simply implementing robots and ordering boards, or simply running lean

In addition, Best Buy was also cutting jobs as the company grappled with shifting consumer behavior, the AP reported on August 12.

More people order online, then come in to pick up product, especially since so many products are now kept in centralized warehouses and stores keep less product, because there isn’t enough to keep lots of extra at each store.

According to the recent survey by PwC, respondents were trying to streamline the workforce to create the right balance of worker skills moving forward.

“This comes as no surprise. After a frenzy of hiring and a tight labor market over the past few years, executives see the distinction between having people and having people with the right skills,” it stated.

We should do this to the federal government, which is bloated with lots of extra employees who do not really do a lot, have redundant jobs, or are simply there to push the power of Centralized Government.

It just shows the extreme instability of the economy, and Joe is off passing tax, climate, and (barely) health bills, doing things that, at best, do not help the economy, and on vacation.

ZOMG: Hotcoldwetdry Threatens Ketchup, Salsa, And California

Well, there’s two I’m concerned about. Not that any of this is real

Climate change is threatening ketchup, salsa, and California

One-fourth of total tomatoes grown every year on our planet comes from California, but now tomato production is decreasing in the state at an unprecedented rate. The yield of tomatoes dropped by about 23% in 2021 as compared to the year 2015. Plus, the limited supply of tomatoes is further causing a never before seen jump in the prices of popular tomato-based products like ketchup, salsa, and pasta sauce in the US and elsewhere in the world.

The average retail price of tomatoes has grown by 13% to 23% in the US, substantially more than the current rate of food inflation in the US which is at its peak this year and it is likely to stay between 9% to 11%, according to the US Department of Agriculture. In other words, tomato inflation is much larger than money inflation.

Part of it is simply mismanagement of water resources, because Democrats are incompetent. Fortunately, we can grow tomatoes elsewhere. Give me Jersey tomatoes for gardens and small farms any day (if you want really, really good tomatoes, try them (and the corn) when you’re there. I promise they are the best. Also, The Jersey Tomato Company pasta sauce is The Best). Most of the tomatoes I get locally are produced here in NC.

Tomatoes are no ordinary vegetables, they are the second most consumed vegetable in the US after potatoes (yes, technically, it’s a fruit, but this is not the point). The ketchup market alone was valued at 1.39 billion dollars in 2021 across North America. Even if we forget tomatoes, ketchup, and the numbers mentioned above, salsa and other sauces are dependent on tomatoes; truth be told, we couldn’t really imagine many of our meals without the humble tomato.

Not sure about you, but, I can’t. If I buy a cesear salad or some other that doesn’t have tomatoes, I will buy some grape tomatoes or small slicing ones. I refuse to have a salad without them. I don’t blame any issues on man-induced climate change doom. Things change, and, you adapt.

In an interview with Bloomberg, CTGA (California Tomato Growers Association) president, Mike Montana commented on the difficulties on growing tomatoes nowadays:

“It’s real tough to grow a tomato crop right now. On one side you have the drought impacting costs because you don’t have enough water to grow all your acres, and then you have the farm inflation side of it with fuel and fertilizer costs shooting up.”

Hmm, so, the other half is incompetent government on the fuel side and restrictive government on the fertilizer side.

The problem in California is not the falling tomato production itself but the high temperatures that are drying water reservoirs and making it difficult for the farmers to water large farmlands. Although the state is known for its tomato yield, this is not the only crop that has been affected by the drought and increasing temperature.

The average California temperature is not that much higher than it was in 1900, a couple of degrees to 3 degrees. Take out the urbanization, heat island effect, land use changes, and it drops back down. You should expect this during a Holocene warm period. Just like the French had a huge problem growing wheat during the Little Ice Age (that’s really what the whole “let them eat cake” thing was about) and wanted everyone to eat potatoes, because they are hardy, and easier to grow than many other veggies.

One can imagine the water crisis in the state from the fact that in April, local authorities had to ask residents and businesses in the southern California region to cut down their water usage by 35%. However, the government officials have realized the problem, and they are already making billion-dollar investments to improve the water infrastructure, develop new reservoirs, and implement innovations that could provide some relief in times of water supply shortage.

Perhaps the state can force all the Elites to stop watering their expansive 1%er lawns.

Trump Says Will File Unlawful Search And Seizure Motion

Having watched Trump since 2016, it’s probably not an empty threat

Donald Trump Will File Unlawful Search and Seizure Motion over ‘Illegal’ FBI Raid

Former President Donald Trump announced he will file a Fourth Amendment unlawful search and seizure motion over the FBI’s “illegal” raid on Mar-a-Lago in a post made on TRUTH Social on Friday.

“A major motion pertaining to the Fourth Amendment will soon be filed concerning the illegal Break-In of my home, Mar-a-Lago, right before the ever important Mid-Term Elections,” Trump posted.

The former President said the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago violated his rights, “together with the rights of all Americans,” and added that it is part of a continued witch hunt against him. Trump added:

My rights, together with the rights of all Americans, have been violated at a level rarely seen before in our Country. Remember, they even spied on my campaign. The greatest Witch Hunt in USA history has been going on for six years, with no consequences to the scammers. It should not be allowed to continue!

Trump’s upcoming Fourth Amendment motion is the latest development in the public feud between him and the FBI after the Mar-a-Lago raid earlier this month.

The FBI either has something biggly on Trump, or it was a fishing expedition. Considering the FBI’s actions towards Trump and his associates over the years, it’s probably closer to a fishing expedition. There are enough higher ranked employees to go after a former president and not give a damn about how it makes the FBI look. Not if they can take down Trump. For all we know, the FBI may have been doing it to simply attempt to make Trump look bad. If so, it’s backfired. The people who would never vote for Trump anyhow love this, the 70+ million who voted for Trump are now super enthused…which might not last into the 2024 primaries, but, it will be big for the 2022 mid-terms…and you could catch a lot of the middle ground voters who now vote GOP

As a result of the raid, More Americans than ever believe Biden is using the FBI as his “personal Gestapo.” A Rasmussen poll revealed that 53 percent of Americans agree with Roger Stone’s assessment that there exists “a group of politicized thugs at the top of the FBI who are using the FBI … as Joe Biden‘s personal Gestapo.”

In the 60’s Liberals wanted to defund the FBI. Since that wasn’t going to happen, they took over from inside, getting to high levels of power, and now you have agents who feel free to use their power for political gain.

“Even in light of the fact that they violated the Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, the Mueller Witch Hunt, lied many times before Congress, and on many occasions put out fraudulent information before the FISA Court, they continue. They have no shame,” Trump continued. “They are destroying our Country!”

If they’re willing to do this to Trump, they can do it easily to you. Just look at the way the January 6th stuff is turning out, with people going to jail for simply wandering around the Congressional building, while most involved in attacking and firebombing the Portland justice center aren’t experiencing any concern over even being arrested.

Your Fault: Climate Doom To Decimate Most Crops Soon

It’s always some type of doom based on fanciful thinking, computer models, and looking in crystal balls

Climate change will ravage humanity’s main crop resources – except for one

Planting more breadfruit trees may be the solution to combating climate change, a new study claims.

Scientists expect climate change will have an adverse effect on many crops around the globe. But researchers from Northwestern University say global warming trends will have little effect on one particular production: breadfruit.

Breadfruit is a starchy tree fruit native to the Pacific islands. Although it’s a fruit, people often use breadfruit as a substitute for potatoes because it’s so starchy and lacks seeds.

The research, which found that unlike rice and corn, breadfruit can withstand extreme climates, was published Wednesday in the peer-reviewed journal PLOS Climate.

They wanted to see what would happen to breadfruit and crops, because everything is going to become hotter, wetter, cooler, drier

First, they mapped out what climate conditions these trees need in order to properly grow breadfruit. The team then looked at climate change models, predicting what the weather will look like in these areas in 2061-2080.

Same people cannot tell us what the weather will be consistently over the next 10 days.

The predictions examined two scenarios: one where rising greenhouse gas emissions continue to plague the world and one where emissions stabilize in the future. In both scenarios, regions that are suitable for growing breadfruit trees remained the same. In the tropics and subtropics, the amount of suitable land for growing breadfruit only decreased by 4.4. to 4.5 percent.

And, if you look at the research paper, it is heavy on the use of computer models, and, unshockingly, the results go from doom to DOOM.

Biden Builds $500K Fence Around His Beach House, And You’re Paying For It

At this point, Brandon has spent 19 weekends this year at his Delaware beach house, and you get to pay for not only the security (yes, we do remember how you Trump haters whined about him being on the golf course, Mar a Lago, etc), and a new fence

Biden heads back to Delaware beach house, where he’s building $500K taxpayer-funded security fence

After spending much of his summer vacation on Kiawah Island, South Carolina, President Biden is heading back to his multimillion-dollar beach house in his home state of Delaware, where he’s building a taxpayer-funded security fence at a cost that’s ballooned to nearly $500,000.

Biden is expected to arrive at his $2.7 million summer house in the North Shores community of Rehoboth Beach on Saturday after spending the last couple nights in Wilmington, Delaware, according to data released by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). On Wednesday, Biden was briefly at the White House signing of the $739 billion Inflation Reduction Act into law.

In September 2021, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) awarded $456,548 to a Sussex County company to construct a security fence around the president’s home.

The DHS contract with Turnstone Holdings LLC for the “purchase and installation of security fencing” at the residence has since increased to $490,324 this summer, according to the website USAspending.gov, an online database of federal government spending.

He has the money, let him pay for it. Seriously, that better be one hell of a fence. Even at government overpaid rates, still seems beyond excessive.

Of course, building a massive security fence is fine for Biden’s beach house, but, not good for our over-run southern border

Warmists Recommend Everyone Else Start Biking To Fight Hotcoldwetdry

By “we”, Justine Calma at The Verge means “you”. Most Warmists won’t give up their own use of fossil fueled travel

To fight climate change, we need to start biking like the Dutch
Universal cycling could slash one-fifth of CO2 emissions from cars, study finds

If people around the world were as enthusiastic cyclers as they are in the Netherlands, we could cut an impressive amount of planet-heating pollution. The Dutch use bicycles to get around more than folks in any other country, cycling about 2.6 kilometers (1.62 miles) a day.

If that was the trend across the world, it would slash 686 million metric tons of carbon dioxide pollution a year, according to the authors of a new study published this week in the journal Communications Earth & Environment. That’s enormous — roughly equivalent to erasing one-fifth of CO2 emissions from passenger cars globally in 2015.

Cleaning up pollution from transportation is a huge piece of the puzzle when it comes to slowing down the climate crisis that’s causing more brutal heatwaves, droughts, fires, and storms. Transportation currently makes up a quarter of fuel-related greenhouse gas emissions globally, with half of that coming from passenger cars.

Replacing those gas-guzzlers with electric vehicles gets a lot of media attention as a sure-fire way to keep the climate crisis at a more manageable level. But that transition is happening slowly, and it doesn’t go far enough in reimagining a more sustainable future for transportation.

See? They’ve already moved on from EVs and want Everyone Else to be forced to ride a bike. Hey, biking makes sense in certain areas, and, people are welcome to do it IF THEY WANT TO AS THEIR OWN CHOICE. Notice how few Warmists in hardcore liberal areas like NYC give up their own use of fossil fuels and ride bikes. Of course, it’s not as easy when you have to drag the bike up and down the stairs/elevator. Where do you leave it at the store or work, especially with the increased amount of crime? Many American cities just aren’t set up for biking.

The difference in the Netherlands and similar countries like Denmark, where there were high rates of owning and using a bike to get around, the paper says, often boils down to culture and environment. Bicycling might be seen as more dangerous, the paper notes, in some places with high traffic death rates where cyclers might have to navigate through streets crammed with cars.

To get over those kinds of humps, the new paper calls for “worldwide pro-bicycle policy and infrastructure.” That might look like more protected bicycle lanes or strategies to overcome the world’s driving addiction through carbon taxes or congestion pricing.

And the government folks instituting this will put in methods to force people to bike, while the govt folks travel around in fossil fueled vehicles.
