European Climate-weenies Say Trump Is A “Serious Blow” To Doing Something

Hey, maybe if most climate cult policies didn’t revolve around higher taxes/fees, a higher cost of living, and more government which takes away freedom, liberty, and life choices, Doing Something wouldn’t be such an issue

EU warns of ‘serious blow’ from Trump on climate change

Global efforts to address climate change will be dealt a severe blow if U.S. President-elect Donald Trump again pulls the country out of the Paris Agreement, the EU’s head of climate change policy has warned.

Trump’s transition team has prepared executive orders to withdraw the United States – currently the world’s second-biggest polluter, after China – from the main global treaty on climate change, according to sources in the team.

CO2 is not a pollutant

“If that were to happen, that would be a serious blow for international climate diplomacy,” EU climate commissioner Wopke Hoekstra told Reuters in an interview.

Another U.S. exit from the Paris Agreement would require other countries to “double down on climate diplomacy” in response, he said.

“There’s no alternative to make sure that, in the end, everyone chips in, because climate change is indiscriminate,” Hoekstra said of the U.N. climate talks. “This truly is a problem that the world needs to solve together.”

And? Why is this our problem? If you want to Do Something, have at it. Why must they drag everyone into their little cult? At least Scientology and other cults do not try to force Everyone Else to comply. Worry about yourselves, EU weenies. Oh, and don’t forget that your peasants are ready to revolt over your nice Fascism on ‘climate change’, among other issues.

Democrats Offer BS Excuses Why They Voted Against Laken Riley Bill

Why don’t they just admit that they prioritize illegal aliens and fake asylum seekers, even if they committed crime, above American citizen. Seriously, this gaslighting is absurd and transparent to most Americans

Social posts target Democrats’ vote on migrant offenders bill. Here’s why they say they opposed it.

U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., reintroduced legislation Jan. 3 she said would keep dangerous immigrants out of the country — people who have committed sex crimes or domestic abuse.

On social media, critics used the occasion to deride House Democrats who first voted against the bill in September.

“There is no justification. 158 Democrats voted against deporting illegal immigrants who are convicted sex offenders,” one Jan. 5 Instagram post said. (big snip)

But Democrats and domestic violence groups who opposed the bill told PolitiFact that the law already provides for deportation of migrants convicted of sex offenses and crimes against children. And the bill’s language could have the unintended effect of harming immigrant domestic violence survivors, they warned.

“I voted against this bill for several reasons. First, it is redundant because all serious sexual and violent offenses already render someone deportable under the law,” U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., wrote in an email to PolitiFact.

Except, they aren’t really being deported. “Ibarra had been previously arrested by both federal and state officials in multiple jurisdictions. In September 2023, Ibarra was arrested in New York City and charged with “acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17 and a motor vehicle license violation.” He was arrested for crimes again after that in Georgia. And, yet, the Biden-Harris admin failed to deport him.

Current U.S. law already makes inadmissible people convicted of crimes “involving moral turpitude,” which courts generally define as crimes involving harm to people or property or fraud offenses.

And yet the Biden-Harris admin has allowed murderers, rapists, child abusers, arsonists, gang members, and members of Islamic terrorist groups into the U.S., when they are supposed to be turned away immediately.

Mace’s bill would add sex offenses and broaden the definition of domestic violence offenses in the “deportable aliens” section of the federal criminal code.

That’s a good thing, right? Or, do Democrats no longer want to protect women?

North Carolina University law professor Rick Su said aggravated felonies are already deportable offenses. Those are currently defined in the Immigration and Nationality Act — a law enacted in 1952 that governs U.S. immigration policy — to include rape, sexual abuse of a minor, all crimes of violence, child pornography and sex trafficking, Su said.

Refer back to part about the Biden-Harris admin barely deporting them, and not working particularly hard to catch them.

Another section of current law already makes domestic violence, stalking or violation of a protection order, and crimes against children deportable offenses, Su said. The law also makes “crimes involving moral turpitude” deportable offenses.

“Even if domestic violence and sex crimes were not explicitly noted as deportable offenses, they would almost certainly fall under a ‘crime involving moral turpitude,’” Su said.

Again, those laws are barely being applied. And they keep on giving excuse after excuse, ending with

Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee said in a fact sheet that despite the bill’s name focusing on “illegal aliens,” the bill would “sweep in green card holders, those seeking to come to U.S. lawfully, and DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and TPS (Temporary Protected Status) recipients.”

So, they do not want non-citizens who break the law to be deported. Why, is the real question. What is in it for Democrats?

Surprise: First World Turning Against Progressive Agenda

I wonder why? The Hill’s Merrill Matthews explains

Opinion – Developed economies across the globe are abandoning progressive policies

Since November, Democrats have been trying to understand how they could possibly have lost an election to the likes of Donald Trump. But it’s not just Trump and the United States. Several key elements of the progressive-liberal policy agenda are in retreat in developed economies as voters and elected officials turn to more reasonable, practical and financially sustainable policies.

Here are three key components of the progressive agenda that are now being spurned.

Open borders. Illegal immigration has roiled U.S. politics for years, but in the election it “surged to the top of the most important problem list,” according to Gallup, even as Democrats both defended the illegal immigrant surge and went to extremes to argue it wasn’t happening. But the U.S. wasn’t alone.

recent report from the Center for Migration Studies says, “The European Union (EU), as well as individual European countries, have in the last several years launched several initiatives to prevent asylum-seekers from reaching their shores.” Those candidates campaigning for immigration clampdowns gained seats in this year’s European Parliament elections.

Reuters says concerns over immigration and asylum policies were high on the list of the EU’s five biggest countries by population: “Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Poland — plus Sweden.” As a result, political parties pushing immigration reform made gains in several EU countries:

Matthews provides much more on the subject, but, let’s consider that immigration was actually a lower ranking issue going into the 2024 U.S. election per many polls throughout 2024. When it came to actually voting it jumped much higher, as people remembered the border being overrun and Biden shipping fake asylum seekers all over the country, especially to small towns, then saw him actually able to significantly lower border crossings with the stroke of a pen. People in sanctuary cities saw the outcome when Texas shipped huge numbers to the cities, which saw crime, filth, and 3rd world conditions emerge, all while their hard-earned tax dollars were spent on foreigners.

In Europe they are mostly dealing with fake asylum seekers from Africa and the Muslim world, with many coming from Africa also being Muslim. They refuse to assimilate and, instead, install their own cultures. They create no-go zones. They harass and assault citizens. And the governments take the side of the FASs rather than the citizens, even jailing citizens for saying and writing Mean things. So, the citizens are turning against their progressive overlords.

The green energy transition. Developed economies in Europe and the U.S. under Democratic administrations have made transitioning to clean energy more of a mandate than a goal. They have taken major steps, both politically and financially, to implement the net-zero economy — where greenhouse gases being emitted into the atmosphere equal the amount being removed. That’s changing.

As Wall Street Journal columnist Joseph C. Strenberg writes, “2025 may be the year net zero dies. Such a development isn’t inevitable, but what was once described as ‘the climate crisis’ is morphing into the climate-crisis crisis as voters lose patience with the project and grow less shy about saying so.”

Citizens may support cleaner energy, heck, I do, but, they do not support the forced transition which is raising the cost of energy, limiting the availability of energy, raising the cost of food and goods, and seeing the removal of their rights to Big Government. And many governments are now backtracking on their Net Zero pledges, especially in Europe.

Transgender youth. The trans issue in the November election wasn’t about adults who transition — they’re old enough to make their choices and live with them — but about children, along with biological males playing in women’s sports. Most Americans oppose both, and the issue played a role in some voters’ decisions.

But Europe is also having second thoughts. Forbes reports, “Increasingly, European nations are adopting a more cautious approach to gender-affirming care among minors.” And that shift began a year before the release of the Cass Report in England, which raised several red flags about pushing gender-affirming care on minors.

Citizens realize that it is child abuse and people should be jailed for allowing, and, really, forcing children to go through drugs and surgeries, to live as the opposite sex. Most agree that if you’re an adult, do what you want. Children? No. It’s driven by parents, teachers, and other adults who are plain nuts and shouldn’t be around any children. It’s as horrible as constantly mentally and physically abusing a child.

Likewise, people are getting more vocal over the notion that trans of all ages should not be in the safe spaces and sports of real women.

Will the politicians get a clue? Will the majority of people who support the policies start getting a clue and switch their support and votes like many of their brethren did and vote against the wacko Progressive (nice Fascist) politicians who force this on the citizens regardless of their opinion?

159 Democrats Voted Against Laken Riley Act

A bit of a follow up, forgot to hit post on this Tuesday

(Daily Caller) 159 House Democrats voted Tuesday against legislation titled the Laken Riley Act that would require federal immigration authorities to detain illegal migrants who commit theft-related crimes in the U.S and would also allow states to sue the Department of Homeland Security for harm caused to their residents because of illegal immigration. (snip)

“Laken Riley was brutally murdered by an illegal alien that President Biden and the Democrats let into this country with their open border policy. It is hard to believe after countless horrific stories like Laken’s, ANY House Democrats would vote against deporting illegal aliens who commit violent crimes against American citizens,” Speaker of the House Mike Johnson said in a statement.

“But 159 just did, demonstrating some Democrats have ignored the loud and clear message from voters in this election who demanded secure borders, the deportation of violent illegal aliens, and laws that put the safety and security of the American people first,” Johnson added.

These Democrats are prioritizing illegal aliens and fake asylum seekers over U.S. citizens. How many Democrat Senators will vote against it?

Ross is my Rep. You also had North Carolina reps Alma Adams and Valarie Foushee, both Democrats, voting against. Donald Davis (D) voted for the legislation. Calls and emails to Ross’ office have gone unanswered. They do not care about you.

UN Climate Cult Leader Upset Nations Aren’t Cracking Down On Their Peasants

After all this time it’s pretty easy to read between the lines

World’s climate fight needs fundamental reform, UN expert says: ‘Some states are not acting in good faith’

Green Climate Thought PoliceThe international effort to avert climate catastrophe has become mired by misinformation and bad faith actors, and must be fundamentally reformed, according to a leading UN climate expert.

Elisa Morgera, the UN special rapporteur on climate change, said the annual UN climate summits and the consensus-based, state-driven process is dominated by powerful forces pushing false narratives and by tech fixes that divert attention from real, equitable solutions for the countries least responsible and most affected.

“The current climate regime was built in a way, maybe unconsciously, that locked in an ineffective approach that is blind to the disproportionate harms of climate change – and increasingly climate solutions – and the disproportionate benefits that the current situation is accruing to very few states and very few individuals,” said Morgera, in an exclusive interview with the Guardian.

“We can observe that some states are not acting in good faith in very clear ways, which is the basis of any international regime. There is widespread disregard for the rule of international law, and also a very clear pushback on the science, and shrinking of civil spaces at all levels. Basically, the truth is out of the conversation. That is the problem – there is no space at Cop for the truth,” said Morgera.

“Fundamental reform is possible, if there is a willingness by the states and the secretariat, but it’s hard to see that at the moment.”

Her Government Speak is simply code for “nations need to crack down on the free speech of their citizens. No more skepticism. No difference of opinion. Cut them off of social media. Do not allow them on TV and in the news. Block them. Start taking everyone’s money and Do Something.” I’ve been saying for 20 years that this is all about authoritarian government, not science, and they keep saying things that prove that.

Surprise: NYC’s Congestion Pricing Will Cause Trouble For Firefighter Response

Yet another case of “what could possibly go wrong”

FDNY union leaders warn against congestion pricing after being denied exemption: ‘Don’t go down this road’

unintended consequencesFDNY union leaders are fighting back against the Big Apple’s new congestion pricing, warning the toll will negatively impact response times, leaving residents and first responders to deal with potentially deadly results.

Uniformed Firefighters Association President Andrew Ansbro and Uniformed Fire Officers Association President Jim Brosi discussed the new congestion pricing and its inadvertent side effects on the fire department during “FOX & Friends.”

“We begged, and we pleaded, ‘Don’t don’t go down this road,'” Ansbro told Lawrence Jones on Tuesday. “There’s only about 270 firefighters every single day working in the zone. We estimate the cost to be $3,000 a day because we bring our vehicles into the zone, and we bring vehicles into the city, and then we use them when they move us from firehouse to firehouse.”

“When there’s a shortage [in] one place, and a surplus in another… twice a day, you have three to 400 firefighters going to a different firehouse or returning from that firehouse, and they used to have the ability to use 2000 of our cars at a moment’s notice,” he continued.

So, basically firefighters need to be able to move around, and, if they cannot take their own vehicles they have to wait for the bus or take the subway, which could increase response time as well as reduce the number of firefighters available for response. Especially since they could dragging along 85+ pounds of equipment. I wonder what the government elites and all those cheering the congestion pricing will think when this causes a delayed response time for their emergency

“Change is hard. And when things are going well for people — like the 90% of people who know that the system that gets them to work or to school every single day is going to be invested in, is going to be there for them and their families — they’re not taking to the streets to say how great this is. But they are the beneficiaries, the mass majority of people who work in this area,” Gov. Kathy Hochul said on Monday.

Hey, I wonder if Hochul will be using the subway or buses when she’s in NYC? Or driving around in her big SUV? How about NYC employees: will they have to pay out of their own pockets when they drive through the congestion zone? That should be required.

Brosi argued the likely delayed response times and unconventional traffic outside the congestion pricing zones could be dangerous for residents and firefighters alike, and could cost millions if the department needs additional vehicles to fill the void.

They would need a whole bunch of new, government owned vehicles to avoid the toll.

“It’s difficult to see how the response times wouldn’t be affected because these units are operating well beyond their normal routine response area,” Brosi said. “We’ve already seen firefighters stay on duty for an extra two, four, six or eight hours after a 24-hour shift in a place where they’re really already doing 6,000 runs a year. That is a tremendous toll on the members and likely to lead to more injuries.”

And, instead of exempting the firefighters from the tolls the city will end up spending a fortune in overtime.

Your Yearly Reminder That Cold And Winter Weather Is All Your Fault

Once the doomsday cult sinks their teeth into a talking point they never let go, no matter how crazy

From the link

Frigid air that normally stays trapped in the Arctic has escaped, plunging deep into the United States for an extended visit that is expected to provoke teeth-chattering but not be record-shattering.

It’s a cold air outbreak that some experts say is happening more frequently, and paradoxically, because of a warming world. Such cold air blasts have become known as the polar vortex. It’s a long-established weather term that’s become mainstream as its technical meaning changed a bit on the way.

What it really means to average Americans in areas where the cold air comes: brrrrr.

Yeah, we can stop there, no need to repeat the climamoonbattery “science” yet again. The cultists, in this case uber-Warmist Seth Borenstein, really do blame winter on too much warmth. Did too much warmth cause the Little Ice Age?

Republicans To Hold Vote On Laken Riley Act

I’m expecting about 167 no votes from Democrats

Republicans tee up fast votes on Laken Riley Act to deport illegal immigrants who steal, shoplift

Congressional Republicans are speeding their first immigration crackdown bill through Congress with an initial vote scheduled later this week on the Laken Riley Act, which would pressure Homeland Security to detain and deport illegal immigrants who shoplift or steal.

Sen. Katie Britt, Alabama Republican, announced a Senate version of the bill on Tuesday and Rep. Mike Collins, Georgia Republican, announced the House version.

House GOP leaders have already slated it for a floor vote on Tuesday, and given the backing of new Senate Majority Leader John Thune, the bill will likely see fast action in the upper chamber, too. (big snip through what happened to Laken Riley)

The Laken Riley Act would push ICE to arrest and detain illegal immigrants who commit shoplifting, burglary, larceny or theft offenses.

It would also create an avenue for states to bring a civil case in court against federal officials who refuse to enforce immigration law.

It shouldn’t even be necessary to pass another law: they are here illegally, on some sort of state sponsored status, or fake asylum seekers, and any violation of the law should mean immediate deportation. If a person is going through the legal citizenship process and breaks the law that status ends and they are sent packing.

A version of the Laken Riley Act was approved in the GOP-led House last year in a 251-170 vote. More than three dozen Democrats backed it.

Will there be several dozen Democrats voting for it this time? Or, will they vote en mass against it, being no election upcoming? Because Democrats ran the Senate it never got a vote. This time it will pass the House and then get a vote in the senate. But, will 8 Democrats cross over and vote for it to overcome the filibuster threshold? Regardless, the GOP should wait till Trump takes the oath of office, as there is no telling what Biden will do. If he vetoes it they’ll just have to vote again.

Dem gov who vows to fight Trump border enforcement outraged by migrant using shelter for criminal activity

A blue state governor who pledged to fight Trump administration deportation efforts expressed outrage Monday after a migrant was allegedly caught with nearly $1 million worth of drugs and an AR-15 rifle at a hotel that is being temporarily used as a shelter.

“It’s outrageous that this individual took advantage of our shelter system to engage in criminal activity,” Massachusetts Democratic Gov. Maura Healey said in a statement.

Healey was responding to news of Leonardo Andujar Sanchez, a native of the Dominican Republic, facing firearm and drug trafficking charges while using the state’s shelter system. The suspect, 28, was found at a Quality Inn in Revere, Massachusetts, which currently serves as a shelter.

Who would have thought that all these fake asylum seekers, mostly young men, would be a problem? Someone should have warned Healey.
