German Youths Not Willing To Sacrifice Their Own Modern Lifestyles To Solve Climate Crisis (scam)

Of course not. Doing Something about ‘climate change’ is popular in theory, not reality, at least when it comes to Warmist’s own lives. They’re good with Doing Something for Other People

(No Tricks Zone) The German Tagesschau reports that the 14-29 age goup don’t take the Fridays-For-Future protests as seriously as journalists thought.

Afraid, but unwilling

A study by Simon Schnetzer and Klaus Hurrelmann called Jugend in Deutschland (Youth in Germany) reveals some unsurprising attitudes of the generation under 30. The young people are most afraid – at least as expressed to the respondents – of climate change and poverty pensions. This is nothing new: A doomsday mood has been already widespread since decades: explosive nuclear power plants, nuclear war, forest dieback – and the coming ice age caused by industrial emissions. But there was no real deep belief because most of the future Greens enjoyed their privileges and made a real career and cash.

That the majority of young people believe in the man-made ice age is not surprising, but what apparently surprised the authors of the study is the attitude of the under-30s that policymakers should eliminate the problems, and that the youths themselves are not very willing to make sacrifices for climate protection. Quote:

Only a minority are willing muster the strength to face up to the great challenge and actively change their own lifestyle, although they themselves are strongly in favor of doing so. The vast majority are not yet ready to give up their cherished habits in the areas of consumption, mobility and nutrition and are waiting for politicians to help them make decisions.“

Love of travel

Specifically: 60% of the respondents regularly travel by car, whereby it should be noted that those under 18 were also asked. Only 19% and 27% respectively are “still” prepared to do without cars or air travel in the long term. I would question the “still”, since it is precisely the children of the upper income half who cultivate an anti-national cosmopolitan attitude, which is expressed in extensive air travel.

No one should be surprised by this. Virtually every poll taken shows that when push comes to shove few are actually willing to sacrifice, always wanting Someone Else to be forced by Government to sacrifice. They don’t want to pay more, they don’t want to give up their fossil fueled travel (how else will the go get their selfies?), they won’t give up streaming tons of video on their smartphones, tablets, and TVs, nor taking and uploading them, or anything else. And they need all their “quick fashion” (clothes designed to be worn only a few times) for their “photo shoots”, ie, selfies for Instagram and stuff.

It Begins: Notre Dame Changes Definition Of Fully Vaccinated To Be Boosterized

We’ve heard rumblings and ruminations of changing the definition to include getting a booster, moving that goal post, for a few weeks now. Notre Dame has taken it to heart

Notre Dame is requiring students to get a COVID-19 booster to keep fully vaccinated status

The University of Notre Dame is requiring all students to get a booster as a part of its COVID-19 vaccination policy.

The university will have an on-campus vaccine clinic in mid-January where students can receive a Pfizer BioNTech booster.

Notre Dame shared information about the upcoming clinic in a tweet Monday.

Will it be required to get another booster when they come out with one tailored for Omicron (which is more contagious by much, much less dangerous, being more like a mild cold)?

Booster shots may be needed to keep fully vaccinated status in Australia in future

A booster dose could be necessary to keep your green Covid-19 vaccination tick in the future, the health department secretary Brendan Murphy says.

Booster shots are being rolled out across Australia amid warnings that immunisation from the initial vaccinations wanes with time. (snip)

He said the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (Atagi) has so far “felt there’s not sufficient evidence to say that someone who’s had two doses needs a third to maintain their fully vaccinated status”.

“So at the moment we’re regarding everyone with two doses as fully vaccinated,” he said.

“If in the future the data suggests that immunity from the primary course wanes so much that people do really need a third dose, that could change.”

The minute a few people get Omicron it will change. Australian government workers and politicians have really gone power mad this year.

Brandon’s Federal Vaccine Mandates Are Now 0-3

One more loss and he’ll tie the Buffalo Bills for most straight consecutive championship losses

Here’s Yahoo News

A federal judge on Tuesday blocked the last of the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates for businesses, saying the government exceeded it authority with a requirement that millions of employees of federal contractors be inoculated. (snip)

A federal appeals court in New Orleans last month shut down a requirement that businesses with at least 100 employees get workers vaccinated or have them tested weekly.

A requirement that most healthcare workers get vaccinated was blocked last week.

Perhaps Brandon could try a 4th one?

Bummer: Climate Doom Is Making Your Clementines Less Acidic

Fast Company (which just did an insane interview with Warmist Prince Harry, a rich guy telling low wage workers to quit their job if it doesn’t make them happy), is now on the “Climate is coming for your Christmas tree bandwagon“, so, doom that way. And, elsewhere

Clementines are losing their acidity due to climate change

The taste of clementines is changing due to climate change. That is what researchers from INRAe, who study the evolution of this citrus fruit, found at the research unit of San Giuliano in Corsica.

“The more sugar a product contains, the less easy it is to taste its flavor.” Researcher Olivier Pailly and his team have concluded that the higher temperatures in the fall, when the clementines are ripening, force the fruit to consume more energy and therefore draw from its citric acid reserves. This situation threatens the PGI Clementine of Corsica because the label requires a minimal level of acidity in its specifications.

Luckily, the researchers have already been working on alternatives for several years, such as the development of organic farming that would enhance the acidity of the fruits and work on the cells and genes of the fruit, among others.

This comes way of some French outlet, which notes, in the French to English translation

The taste of clementine is changing. Since the 1960s, it has tended to lose its acidity more and more. This is the observation of INRAE ??researchers, who are studying the evolution of this citrus fruit within the research unit of San Giuliano, in Corsica. Already, for Corsican clementine for example, a minimum level of acidity is required to obtain the label of protected geographical indication.

Yeah, the 60’s. When the global temps were actually dipping a bit, which eventually led to many wondering if a new ice age was approaching. But, regardless, there is always some sort of doomy prognostication going on. Bjorn Lomborg writes that 50 years of Doomsaying hasn’t worked. And, it hasn’t. Of course, he’s a Believer in anthropogenic climate change, just not a hysteric, so

Fifty years of panic clearly haven’t solved climate change. We need a smarter approach that doesn’t scare everyone and focuses on realistic solutions such as adaptation and innovation. Adaptation won’t make all of the cost of climate change vanish, but it will reduce it dramatically. And by funding the innovation needed to eventually make clean energy cheaper than fossil fuels, we can allow everyone — including developing countries — to sustainably go green.

Nah, we just need to ignore the climate cult.

Democrats Strategize How To Call Voters Stupid And Push Same Old Stuff For Midterms

Have Democrats considered that Let’s Go Brandon’s polls are so low because he’s pushing the same agenda Congressional Democrats are? That people aren’t into it?

Report: Democrats Strategize How to Escape Crushing Weight of Biden’s Poor Polling Numbers

Many Democrats are concerned President Joe Biden’s sinking polling numbers “will lead to a thrashing at the ballot box” in the 2022 midterm elections, Politico reported on Monday.

According to the report:

Even the party’s own polling has the president in the red. A poll from House Democrats’ campaign arm earlier this month showed the president down in battleground districts across the country, with 52 percent of voters disapproving of the job he’s doing, according to three party members briefed on the data.

With the election 11 months away — “an eternity in politics” — Democrats are in full strategizing mode to counteract what Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) called Biden’s recent “scary” numbers and to preserve at least a slim Democrat majority halfway into Biden’s first term.

“We’re in a difficult period now. One of the challenges we have is, we’ve been legislating this year, as he has,” Sen. Bob Casey(D-PA) told the publication. “While you’re legislating, you’re not communicating.”

Right, right, there’s absolutely no communication, not on Twitter, Facebook, or all the Credentialed Media outlets that support Democrats. Ed Morrissey says what it is really all about

How many times will we get this same Politico/media narrative of Democrats’ sales pitch? As long as Democrats keep thinking that their problem is the voters rather than their own sharp ideological lunge to the fringe. In this week’s edition, Politico’s team report that the midterm strategy remains one of messaging rather than listening. (snip)

Rather than engage in some introspection on how and why that happened, Democrats instead still plan to passively-aggressively blame voters for it. They plan to ramp up their “messaging” in their fabulous progressive agenda … again (snip)

The problem isn’t a lack of messaging. The problem is the product that Democrats keep trying to sell. Democrats passed the massive-spending third tranche of COVID-19 stimulus in March after waving off warnings about inflation even from within their own party. Now they want to pass even more spending while inflation rages above 6% and consumers are losing buying power each month. Their Build Back Better bill isn’t even calculated for economic growth; it’s a progressive hobby-horse bill that prioritizes the kind of social engineering that Beltway leftists love and eventually turns voters into populists.

Democrats keep saying that BBB is wildly popular, which shows that they do not get out of their Washington bubble. Rather than recalculate and go with a popular agenda, something that isn’t radically Progressive (nice Fascism), they’ll just say that voters are too stupid to know what’s good for them

White House spokesperson Andrew Bates argued that while the president is contending with the pandemic and inflation, “Republicans in Congress act to help Covid spread, worsen the global problem of inflation and raise taxes on the middle class to protect tax giveaways to the wealthy.”’

In case Andrew missed it, BBB rolls back some provisions of Trump’s tax cuts, including reinstating SALT, which even Salon highlights as being a tax cut for the rich.

“I’d like to see his numbers turn around, just because I think there’s a false narrative in many cases about supply chain shortages, gas prices or whatever,” said vulnerable Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA). “I care more about my own numbers….I honestly believe that in my district, and in many districts, that it’s a mistake to try to tie your election or reelection to any president.”

I wonder how many other vulnerable Democrats will attempt to distance themselves from Biden?

Is there anything Biden is doing right? Oh, right, you dumb voters just don’t appreciate him.

Extinction Rebellion Working Hard To Annoy Their Own People

These lunatics do realize that most of the people commuting in D.C. are like minded wackadoodle Warmists, right? So, actually, it’s great that they annoy each other, rather then try this crazy around people who might yank them off the road and out of the way

Road Closures, Heavy Traffic Expected Tuesday Around Capitol During Protests

Demonstrations on Capitol Hill Tuesday could potentially shut down roads and delay traffic during the morning rush, U.S. Capitol Police say.

Drivers should expect impromptu road closures and delays beginning about 7 a.m., police said.

Activists with multiple organizations, including ShutDownDC, SPACES In Action, CODEPINK, Arm in Arm Washington DC, Chesapeake Climate Action Network Action Fund, Extinction Rebellion DC, plan to demand congressional action on climate, immigration, racial justice, health care and child care, voting rights and D.C. statehood.

About 150 people will conduct multiple rallies and street blockades featuring brass and go-go bands and large props, organizers of the event said in a news release.

Um, what, exactly, are they protesting? Just chaos, no actual theme, a bunch moonbats yammering, playing drums, holding up signs, leaving the signs and lots of trash behind.

Extinction Rebellion brings medical protest to Worcester Christmas Fayre

Members of Extinction Rebellion held an “emergency room” stunt during the city’s Christmas Fayre.

This was to highlight the health of the planet and demand a “citizen’s assembly” to decide on climate action.

A team of ‘rapid response planet medics’ attended the Earth, which was being carried on a stretcher.

So, basically annoying the people at the Christmas Fayre. Meanwhile

The UK’s policing bill will make climate activism almost illegal – just when it’s most needed

The UK government has proposed some worrying amendments to its already draconian policing bill. The amendments will directly target environmental activists and are a response to direct action protests from groups such as Extinction Rebellion and Insulate Britain, and protests against the HS2 high speed railway.

Proposed changes to the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill would grant police additional powers to restrict protests when deemed to “threaten public order or stop people from getting on with their daily lives”. The proposed legislation represents a dangerous threat to essential democratic and civil liberties such as the right to protest.

Bummer. But, this is in response to the annoying protests, with people gluing themselves to doors, trucks, trains, blocking roads, and so much more. And in Canada

Vancouver police seeking 2022 budget increase, saying climate protests costing millions

Vancouver police say climate activists are costing the department millions of dollars in resources.

The police board is pushing for a budget increase as part of the city’s 2020 budget.

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) said it spent more than $3 million on protests last year alone — in comparison to $2.5 million in 2019 and $1.5 million in 2018.

Guess who’s paying for this, Vancouver residents?

COVIDtarian: NYC To Impose Vaccine Mandate On All, Including Children 5 And Up

The big question here, does incoming mayor Eric Adams keep it or dump it? Well, also, how soon till lawsuits are filed and courts shut this down?

New York City’s vaccine mandate applies to children as young as 5

From big Wall Street banks to corner grocery stores, all private employers in New York City will have to require their workers to get vaccinated against COVID-19, the mayor announced Monday in the most sweeping vaccine mandate of any state or big city in the U.S.

The move by Mayor Bill de Blasio comes as cases are climbing again in the U.S. and the worrisome but little-understood omicron variant is gaining a toehold in the nation’s largest city and elsewhere around the country.

“We in New York City have decided to use a preemptive strike to really do something bold to stop the further growth of COVID and the dangers it’s causing to all of us,” he said.

De Blasio, a Democrat with just weeks left in office, said the mandate will take effect Dec. 27, with in-person workers needing to provide proof they have received at least one dose of the vaccine. And they will not be allowed to get out of the requirement by agreeing to regular COVID-19 testing instead.

The measure will apply to roughly 184,000 businesses not covered by previous vaccine mandates, ranging from multinational corporations to mom-and-pop businesses in the city of 8.8 million people, according to a spokesperson for the mayor. The city’s private-sector workforce is 3.7 million.

Also, anyone 12 or older who wants to dine indoors at a restaurant, go to a gym or see a show will have to produce proof of having received two shots of the vaccine, up from the current requirement of one dose, the mayor said. And children 5 to 11 will have to show proof of at least one shot.

Now, any of you New Yorkers who complain, nope, keep it to yourself. You voted for this. Suck it up. Don’t attempt to leave the city, don’t attempt to take your business out of NYC. Live with your vote.

De Blasio said he expects his mandate to survive any legal challenges. Employees will be able to ask for religious or medical exemptions.

Yeah, well, good luck with that. But, there is something interesting that is missing from the roughly 20 articles I’ve read, including the NY Times

None of them are asking that simple question, what statutes, laws, code, allows this? How about the New York State Constitution?

The mayor said he will release more details next week about how the mandate will be enforced.

The Devil is in the details. Will the NYPD be sent to enforce this? Checking papers? I don’t think the city will get the compliance from the cops like they do in Australia and some other places, where they’ve gone power mad.

USA Today Tries To Erase Water Vapor From Warming

Water vapor has pretty much always been the #1 greenhouse gas. But, this is a cult, so, even though they are trying to elevate methane (which is way more potent than CO2, has no doubling effect), they still say that carbon pollution is KILLING GAIA!

Fact check: Human-generated CO2, not water vapor, drives climate change

Follow the scienceThe claim: Human-generated CO2 is an insignificant contributor to climate change (snip)

Though the report was described as a “code red for humanity” by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, a years-old claim soon resurfaced on social media claiming that humanity’s CO2 emissions are too minute to impact climate.

A version of the claim in the form of a graphic titled “How climate alarmists use numbers to deceive” was posted to Facebook on Sept. 19 and received hundreds of shares. The graphic also accuses the Environmental Protection Agency of publishing a misleading pie chart that “exaggerates CO2’s role as a greenhouse gas.”

“SCIENTIFIC FACT: Man-made CO2 constitutes only 0.1 to 0.2% of atmospheric greenhouse gases. It is an insignificant contributor to global temperature and climate,” the post concludes.

This claim, which has been repeatedly debunked, is wrong. The human-generated CO2 in the atmosphere is causing significant changes in Earth’s climate, scientists say.

Blah blah blah blah blah cult yammerings blah blah blah

This is not a fact check, unless we consider cults as authoritative sources. Because the first thing you have to do is prove that CO2 output is bad, that it is mostly from mankind. It’s we breath out, and what animals breathe out. But, they correlate a low level rise in global temps with rising CO2. How come previous Holocene warm periods were warmer yet lower CO2?

Water vapor and CO2 behave differently in the atmosphere

The social media post correctly indicates that there can be more water vapor than CO2 in the atmosphere, but it is wrong to offer that as evidence CO2 is insignificant.

This “is an old myth,” said Willis. “This one has been debunked many times.”

The fact that there is typically more water vapor than CO2 in the atmosphere does not change the impact of CO2 on the atmosphere.

Using Skeptical Science is not the dunk they think it is: they are a biased website with biased contributors who are vested in pushing anthropogenic climate doom

CO2 and water vapor both contribute to the “greenhouse effect” that warms the Earth and makes it habitable. However, they play very different roles. Increased CO2 levels cause climate change, whereas increased water vapor levels are caused by climate change.

Oh, F*** right of, this is pure cult. It’s just a case of the doomsday cult blaming everything on carbon pollution. Nutjobs.
