I wonder how much federal money has gone to the Yale climate scam program, which needs to be ended (I’m stripping some of the weird Axios formatting)

SF has the highest climate anxiety among U.S. counties

San Francisco leads the country in worrying about climate change, with 82.3% of adults expressing concerns over global warming.

State of play: Climate anxiety is more likely to be concentrated in big U.S. metros and some coastal communities, per Yale Program on Climate Change Communication estimates based on survey data.

The findings, based on statistical modeling using data from nationally representative Ipsos surveys, paint a stark picture of how attitudes toward climate change vary nationwide.

Zoom in: Many of the California counties with some of the highest nationwide shares of worried adults are in areas vulnerable to climate-driven threats like flooding or wildfire risk.

In San Francisco, 66% of adults say they’ve personally experienced the effects of global warming.

And, yet, they still live in an area surrounded on three sides by water. I’d worry more about earthquakes. Oh, and slipping on poop in SF streets. Having my car stolen. Being robbed.

The big picture: About 63.3% of U.S. adults overall are “somewhat” or “very” worried about global warming as of 2024, the report shows.

Yes, and all using a statistical computer model.

You can go to the link and see how your county feels. Wake County is about 70%. But, it’s super liberal here. Oh, well. Weather happens.

Oh, and, per the “survey data” link, 61% think citizens should do more. But, no question about “I should do more.” Weird.

House Passes SAVE Act, Democrats Freak

Well, Democrats have been freaking for a couple weeks, but, now that it is passed we get

House passes bill requiring proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections

The House passed a bill Thursday that would require proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections in an effort to codify one of President Donald Trump’s executive actions from his second term.

Lawmakers approved the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act in a 220-208 vote, with four Democrats — Reps. Ed Case of Hawaii; Henry Cuellar of Texas; Jared Golden of Maine; and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington state — joining every Republican present in support of the measure.

The legislation, sponsored by Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, would amend the National Voter Registration Act so that states would be required to obtain proof of citizenship in person from people who are registering to vote.

It would also require states to establish a program to remove undocumented immigrants from existing voter rolls and would allow American citizens to sue election officials that don’t follow proof of citizenship requirements.

But, can it get through the 60 vote threshold in the Senate? Of course we get headlines like

All sorts of fearmongering. I’ve also seen them throw around 21 million being affected….possibly, but, they’d all be illegals. This AP article provides actual information, though, the original headline certainly fearmongered on the women part

What documents would be required to register?
The SAVE Act compels states to reject any voter registration application in which the applicant has not presented “documentary proof of United States citizenship.”

Among the acceptable documents for demonstrating proof of citizenship are:

  • — A REAL ID-compliant driver’s license that “indicates the applicant is a citizen.”
  • — A valid U.S. passport.
  • — A military ID card with a military record of service that lists the applicant’s birthplace as in the U.S.
  • — A valid government-issued photo ID that shows the applicant’s birthplace was in the U.S.
  • — A valid government-issued photo ID presented with a document such as a certified birth certificate that shows the birthplace was in the U.S.

Probably 99.9% of American citizens already have these. Most illegals do not. Of course, Democrats think that women, and minorities, are too stupid to be able to get an ID, going through the minor hoops necessary to for the name change. Besides, most already are registered

“This has no impact on individuals that are currently registered to vote,” said Rep. Bryan Steil, a Wisconsin Republican who has been advocating for the bill.

Most Americans are too smart for these Democrat shenanigans these days.

Bummer: Orange Man Bad Ends Funding For Key US Climate (scam) Body

White House ends funding for key US climate body: ‘No coming back from this’

The White House is ending funding for the body that produces the federal government’s pre-eminent climate report, which summarizes the impacts of rising global temperatures on the United States.

Every four years, the US Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) is required by Congress to release a new national climate assessment to ensure leaders understand the drivers of – and threats posed by – global warming. It is the most comprehensive, far-reaching and up-to-date analysis of the climate crisis, playing a key role in local and national decision making about agriculture, energy production, and land and water use.

The next assessment is due by 2027. But now, Nasa has ended its contract with the consulting firm ICF International, which convened the USGCRP and coordinated the federal agencies that contribute to the quadrennial report.

“There’s really no coming back from this, and it means we are all less informed about climate impacts, and won’t have the most up-to-date information on risks and threats,” said one federal staffer who was engaged in USGCRP activities, and who requested anonymity to avoid retribution. “USGCRP helped me to leverage resources from other agencies for use in my own work. But without these networks, I’m left without a support system and the latest science on climate change.”

The end of the contract, first reported by Politico and confirmed by multiple sources to the Guardian, imperils the federal government’s climate research, say experts.

Well, too bad. Why does it always seem that the US federal government is always outsourcing their work to private companies and NGOs, to the tune of tens of millions (if not more) of taxpayer money? And that companies crash when the money dries up? If the UK Guardian, Politico, and others are so concerned let them pay. And then they can wonder why it costs so much to produce, and where all the money has gone.

The move came one day after the rightwing outlet the Daily Wire published an article attacking ICF International saying the firm was “raking in millions to spread climate doom”. Since its publication, the second worker said they had had a “pit in their stomach”.

Let’s look at that article

While the U.S. Global Change Research Program states on its website that it has a budget of $4.95 billion in 2025, it only lists two full-time employees. So, who’s getting paid to put the massive and consequential report together?

Fannie Mae Fires Over 100 For Misconduct

This is a bit of an under-the-radar story, which one would have thought would be bigger news

Fannie Mae fires more than 100 employees for unethical conduct, including the facilitation of fraud

Fannie Mae said Tuesday it fired more than 100 employees for unethical conduct.

“Since my swearing-in, we fired over 100 employees from Fannie Mae who we caught engaging in unethical conduct, including facilitating fraud, against our great company,” William J. Pulte, chair of Fannie Mae’s board of directors, said in a statement.

“Anyone who commits fraud against Fannie Mae does so against the American people,” he added.

In his Tuesday statement, the Pulte said under the Trump administration there would be no room for fraud, mortgage fraud or “any other deceitful act that can jeopardize the safety and soundness of the housing industry.”

Pulte was sworn in on March 14 after being appointed by President Trump.

That’s a good start. Of course, it’s just over 100 of 8,100 employees from this “government-sponsored enterprise”

Further details on the firings were not revealed. However, Pulte did note that the agency reduced 25 percent of staff as ordered by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

“We exceeded DOGE’s expectations at U.S. Federal Housing (FHFA), with an over 25 percent reduction in the Agency’s active workforce,” he wrote in a Tuesday afternoon post on the social platform X.

Downsizing federal agencies where they need to be downsized is fantastic, but, my preferred method would be to terminate employees caught in wrongdoing, especially fraud, graft, and waste, and then prosecute them. If any of these over 100 are prosecuted will it make the news? Prosecutions should be happening across the federal agencies. You know there is massive fraud, graft, and waste.

Trump Signs EO To End Obama-Biden War On Water Pressure

This is obviously making lefties, like those at the Washington Post, rather upset, despite all those elites ignoring the Obama-Biden order

Trump signs order to ‘make America’s showers great again’

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Wednesday lifting restrictions on how much water can be used by shower heads, saying his administration would “make America’s showers great again.”

The order underscored how Trump remains fixated on one of his favorite targets — more efficient shower heads that he has blamed for ruining his “perfect” hair — even in the midst of global upheaval caused by his turbulent tariff policies.

“I like to take a nice shower to take care of my beautiful hair,” Trump said before signing the order at the White House. “I have to stand in the shower for 15 minutes until it gets wet. … It’s ridiculous.”

In a fact sheet sent to reporters, the White House said the order “frees Americans from excessive regulations that turned a basic household item into a bureaucratic nightmare,” adding that Trump would “end the Obama-Biden war on water pressure and make America’s showers great again.”

You can feel the anger in the WP writing, despite Trump pretty much joking around. But, Dems do not understand jokes unless they involve killing people who do not agree with them.

The order, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, directs the Energy Department to rescind a regulation issued under President Barack Obama and later reinstated under President Joe Biden. The rule limited the flow from each shower head on the market to 2.5 gallons of water per minute.

There’s actually a big difference between the shower head in my shower, which has been replaced a few times because I use it a lot, and the one in the spare bedroom, which was there when I bought the home in 2009. That one is older and has a higher flow.

Yet manufacturers of shower heads are not clamoring for another rollback. Few manufacturers offer fixtures that fall under the definition from Trump’s first term, according to the Appliance Standards Awareness Project, an energy conservation advocacy group.

Has the WP consider that they could retool a bit? Or that other companies could start offering them? Oh, right, in Socialist World that never happens. And don’t forget Obama and Biden did this in the name of ‘climate change’ and extreme-environmentalism.

Bummer: Thousands Of Illegals Voluntarily Deport

Thousands leave country voluntarily amid Trump self-deport push, DHS says

Thousands of illegal immigrants facing potential involuntary removal from the U.S. have instead opted to self-deport through an app provided by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

The number of immigrants who have opted to self-deport over the last month using the CBP Home app is over 5,000, according to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) data shared with Fox News Digital.

The self-deportations come as the Trump administration has ramped up a messaging campaign aimed at encouraging illegal immigrants to leave the country voluntarily, most recently releasing a flyer addressed to “illegal aliens” that threatens new fines for those who choose to remain in the U.S. despite a deportation order.

“Self-deportation is safe,” the flyer reads. “Leave on your own terms by picking your departure flight.”

The flyer warns that the administration plans to start fining illegal migrants who have received a final order of removal $998 per day if they continue to stay in the country, while fines of $1,000-$5,000 could be given to those who failed to self-deport after claiming they would.

This is making Democrats like Excitable Jasmine Crockett very upset, because, who’s going to clean their homes and pick the cotton?

America First Legal Senior Counsel James Rogers argued that the self-deportation push is working because of the “credible threat of enforcement.”

“Our nation’s immigration laws impose severe penalties on aliens who are illegally in the country. The only reason there is a large population of illegal immigrants residing in the United States is because prior administrations have failed to enforce these laws passed by Congress,” Rogers said. “Everyone knows this, including the aliens who have been illegally living here. The current trend of illegal aliens self-deporting proves that even just the credible threat of enforcement can be enough to get many illegal immigrants to comply with our laws and leave the country.”

And that’s what it comes down to: a credible threat, versus under Obama and Biden when the illegals were invited in with open arms to live off the taxpayer largess. And, by self deporting using the app, the illegals have a future opportunity to come back under legal means.

Surprise: Climahypocrite AOC Takes Long Fossil Fueled Flight In First Class

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was photographed flying first-class to a Bernie Sanders event last month — with critics saying it shows how she battles inequality one “mimosa at a time.”

An incredulous passenger snapped AOC (D-NY) getting comfy in the roomy first-class cabin of JetBlue Flight 511 on March 19 that departed from JFK Airport in Queens for Las Vegas, where she spoke at a Sanders rally titled “Fighting Oligarchy.”

The next day, the equality-spouting darling of the far left rallied along with her socialist comrade, Sen. Sanders (I-Vt.), in North Vegas and at Arizona State University in Tempe.

“Nothing says, ‘Power to the people’ like ignoring voters looking to say hello and reclining in first class while tweeting about income inequality,” the flier who took the photo told The Post — claiming that AOC did not respond to friendly comments once she sat down.

“AOC is fighting the system one first-class mimosa at a time,” said the passenger, Tracey, who is from Brooklyn and was sitting in the economy cabin.

Nothing says the Earth only has twelve years left to stop ‘climate change’ like unnecessary fossil fueled flights.

First-class seats on planes also have been widely derided by climate-change activists because they typically produce many times the carbon emissions of economy seats since they take up more room, thus reducing the number of people able to fly at one time.

Some New York pols said the regal travel by AOC — a rabid climate-change protester — is just the latest example of hypocrisy from the left.

“Socialists are hypocrites. I’m surprised she didn’t take a private jet like most of her comrades,” quipped Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), who represents Staten Island and Brooklyn.

I’m glad so many others are realizing that the biggest Warmists are the biggest climahypocrites.

Bummer: Six Foreign Students Have Visas Terminated At UNC Chapel Hill

6 UNC international students have visas terminated by federal government, school says

Six students at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill have had their visas revoked by the federal government, the school said Tuesday.

“UNC-Chapel Hill’s International Student and Scholars Services is aware that, at this time, the Student Exchange and Visitor Program records six of our international have been terminated by the U.S. government,” the school’s media relations department said.

No reason was given for the termination. It is unclear whether the six affected are undergraduate or graduate students, which programs are enrolled in, and which countries they came from. It is also unclear whether the students are still in the U.S. or whether they have left the country. (snip)

The revocation of the UNC students’ visas comes less than a week after two N.C. State University international students also had their visas terminated. According to NC State, those two students — who the Muslim Student Association at N.C. State said were engineering majors — left the U.S. as a result of their visas being revoked.

Neither the WRAL nor ABC11 articles really added anything different, though their focus was more on students being upset and stuff, like from ABC11

UNC is home to thousands of international students. UNC Junior Caroline Strada says it was important to speak up for fellow students as they worry if they could be next.

“They’re scared and rightfully so because you come here to be educated you come here to get a better education and if you say something that someone doesn’t agree with or an administration doesn’t agree with you’re axed? It just doesn’t seem right,” she says.

So, does she have knowledge, like maybe these students were involved in calling for the eradication of Israel and Jews during the protests? And WRAL

“My parents came here and they had to work so hard to build a life here,” said UNC student Aditi Nayak. I think that it sucks because these people are also working to build a life here.”

Um, no, they do not get to build a life here. They were on student visas. They go to school and when school is done they go back to their home countries. Or somewhere else. Just not here in the U.S. What do they teach kiddies at schools these days? Their knowledge is abominable.

The Raleigh News and Observer adds some info

International students are required to obtain visas to enroll and study at colleges around the United States. In addition to visas, international students are assigned records in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System, or SEVIS, a federal database maintained by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

If a student’s visa is revoked, it does not automatically mean they must leave the country. But if a student’s SEVIS record is terminated — as the UNC students’ records were, according to the university — they are deemed “out of status” and could be subject to deportation or other removal proceedings, an immigration attorney previously told The N&O.

And their SEVIS records have been terminated. Hence, they will be repatriated out of the U.S. And, visas are being terminated all over. Stanford, Harvard, multiple Maryland colleges, around three dozen booted from California universities, Massachusetts, and more. We may not know why, or even who, in most cases, but, we can all make an educated guess that they were involved in the pro-Hamas/anti-Jew protests. From that final link

Another from China added, “I hope everybody here, especially for international students, can study in peace without worrying.”

Would that also include the Jewish students, who were harassed and abused? There is a reason that Harvard barred 13 pro-Hamas students from graduating. What about students being able to study in peace without pro-Hamas demonstrators taking over buildings and blocking the walkways and such.

By the way, I wonder how many students had their visas ended under Biden, without the news caring.
