Funny how quickly they dump “my body my choice”
You do not have the ‘constitutional right’ to refuse the Covid-19 vaccine
Now that the US Food and Drug Administration has approved the Pfizer/ BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine for people age 16 and older, it’s time for all governments across the country to mandate the vaccine for people taking part in indoor activities. There are no more valid excuses for not being vaccinated other than health reasons.
One frequently heard pushback against vaccine mandates is that there is a “constitutional right” to choose whether to be vaccinated or not for adults and a right to determine whether children can be vaccinated. That is a non-starter in the midst of a pandemic.
The Constitution is not a suicide pact guaranteeing a right to harm others. The government has latitude to protect citizens from deadly conditions, especially when the science supporting vaccination is so clear. (snip)
With respect to children, parents do not have carte blanche. At one time, children were the property of their fathers, but that is no longer the case. Children are “persons” under the Constitution, and as the ruling in Prince v. Massachusetts held, parents do not have a constitutional right to make martyrs of their children. Parents have an obligation to protect their children’s health and life, which means that the school district mandates that reduce the risk of death to children should be enforceable, period.
They’re making the case that the Government can vaccinate your children with a vaccine that is showing lower and lower capability to protect people from getting COVID, unlike required vaccines for smallpox, measles, and others required for schooling. Vaccines that virtually no one objects to.
Those challenging the government mandates are likely to invoke their rights under the First, Fifth, and Fourteenth Amendments, which protect speech, religion, and a right not to “be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.” Their view ends up as a snapshot of themselves; nonetheless, rights can be limited if a person is endangering another.
It’s a sentiment that came up in the 1905 Supreme Court decision in the case Jacobson v. Massachusetts. The court ruled against a man who had refused to be vaccinated against smallpox, stating: “Real liberty for all could not exist under the operation of a principle which recognizes the right of each individual person to use his own (liberty), whether in respect of his person or his property, regardless of the injury that may be done to others.” That same principle was apparent when Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who is thought to be a strong rights-advocate, left standing Indiana University’s vaccine mandate.
Of course, basic smallpox has a death rate of 30%, quite a bit higher than COVID. Other forms of smallpox are almost guaranteed to cause death. The mortality rate for COVID is all over the place in studies, but, looks to be under 1%. Spanish Flu of 1918 had a much higher mortality rate. Smallpox vaccine has a very higher rate of success.
We would posit, further, that governments that don’t mandate vaccination against Covid-19 are skating very close to violating the standard for a constitutional right to “life” without due process. If a government does not take reasonable action to prevent the likely deaths of so many people, there will be more lawsuits. Already, we’ve seen schools filing lawsuits against former Trump administration officials and individuals suing the World Health Organization contending that they mishandled the Covid-19 response.
Well, they were doing so well in making the case, right up till they said the Government must force you to get vaccinated For Your Own Good. All that drivel about my body my choice, body autonomy, and the rest went right out the window of the cruise ship and sank to the bottom of the sea.
Children and adults have a constitutional right to “life” that can only be protected if there is mass vaccination. It’s time for state and local governments to issue vaccine mandates and fines — as New York and San Francisco have — before this virus mutates into an even more elusive killer than it already is.
And it would be an interesting Constitutional case. Barrett may have had a case regarding the Indiana University mandate, but, for all citizens? The Constitution assigns duties to the federal government, and the Bill of Rights restricts what they can do. Politically, though, would any politician have the cajones to mandate the vaccine at a large scale? Doubtful.

How Decarbonizing Your Business Can Help Fight Climate Change
Nine years.
That’s how much time the United Nations says is left before the worst consequences of climate change become unavoidable.
And in nine years they’ve tell us we have 10 years left. They keep saying the same thing and then moving the date forward.
We got here by ignoring scientists’ warnings, putting short-term financial gain ahead of sustainability and squandering opportunities to decarbonize. As a direct consequence, “Human-produced greenhouse gas emissions are largely responsible for warming our planet,†according to NASA.
This isn’t a drill: If we fail to dramatically reduce carbon emissions by 2030, the changes we’re already seeing will become much worse. Scientists agree that avoiding further disaster requires immediate action in the form of decarbonization. And decarbonization requires large-scale change. That means every company needs to begin actively reducing its carbon footprint.
You first. Let’s see all you climate cult companies do it. Let’s see if you can avoid raising your prices and getting goods and services to market.
If you’re a business leader, you need to think ahead and consider whether you’ll make things worse by maintaining the status quo. That means business as usual isn’t acceptable anymore; everyone must cut their carbon-emitting activities. For most organizations, measurement — properly gathering and comparing data — will be the critical first step.
So, spend a bunch of money and time figuring out. Perhaps using the software created by the writer, who’s the CEO and co-founder of Persefoni. No conflict of interest in this piece, right?
Once you have the numbers, act on them. Depending on your industry, this could mean reducing travel, curtailing unnecessary shipping, enhancing the efficiency of logistics and/or updating your facilities with green technologies.
This won’t increase costs in the least, nor create problems with operations and getting your goods to the consumers, right? I wonder how many “green” companies actually do a damned thing other than talk about it
Participate in meaningful offsets that can sequester carbon, such as replanting stripped forests and rebuilding shorelines, which will trap and store emissions at ground and sea levels.
And purchase offsets! What a scam.

Madagascar on the brink of climate change-induced famine
Madagascar is on the brink of experiencing the world’s first “climate change famine”, according to the United Nations, which says tens of thousands of people are already suffering “catastrophic” levels of hunger and food insecurity after four years without rain.
The drought – the worst in four decades – has devastated isolated farming communities in the south of the country, leaving families to scavenge for insects to survive.
There have been other droughts? Huh. What happens if this doesn’t happen? Who’s held responsible for the prognostication failure? There was a massive drought in the 1860’s. What’s to blame for that?

Surrender Joe has done a heck of a job with the pullout from Afghanistan, eh? They did it backwards, not getting Americans out first, and now they’re in even more danger
The U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan has issued a security alert advising stranded Americans to either avoid the airport in Kabul or “leave immediately†if they are waiting at the gates.
“Because of security threats outside the gates of Kabul airport, we are advising U.S. citizens to avoid traveling to the airport and to avoid airport gates at this time unless you receive individual instructions from a U.S. government representative to do so,†the embassy announced.
“U.S. citizens who are at the Abbey Gate, East Gate, or North Gate now should leave immediately,†it added.
And go where? What are Americans supposed to do? The Taliban is in charge. They also provided more guidance
Can you see the one thing that’s missing? Any notion of promising to get Americans out. It’s pretty much an emergency already, and has been for well over a week. The Biden admin doesn’t even seem to know how many Americans are there. The State Department has been touting that they’ve evacuated 80,000 people, but, only 4,400 have been American civilians, per the Pentagon. And the Surrender Joe admin has been making it harder for private organizations to rescue people and get them out. Oh, hey, remember when Joe was saying “just go to the airport” and Psaki was claiming that no American was stranded?
Kabul airport is facing an ‘imminent’ ISIS terror threat within ‘hours’, a British minister warned today as thousands of Afghans still desperately try to flee the Taliban-controlled country.
Armed forces minister James Heappey said there is ‘very credible reporting’ of a ‘severe’ attack which could happen ‘within hours’ by ISIS-K, the sworn enemy of the Taliban who want to cause mayhem in the new regime.
The US, Britain and Australia had already told their citizens to flee the airport over the terror threat with Western forces still stationed at the transport hub, with a multiple car-bomb attack feared by officials.
The potential attack is heaping extra pressure on the operation to evacuate stranded foreigners, with Tuesday’s deadline for foreign troops to leave fast approaching.
Even CNN is reporting this. Now, just imagine Trump was president with this going on. Imagine the way the headlines and articles would read, the furious opinion pieces. The Washington Post is more concerned with the Taliban takeover driving a COVID spike, rather than hangings, stoneings, cutting off limbs, treating women like property, killing gays, and all the rest you get with the Taliban.
Fortunately, in all the bedlam created by Joe’s withdrawal plan, there was time to vet refugees
Report: Up to 100 Afghans Seeking Resettlement in U.S. ‘Flagged’ by Terrorism Watch Lists
Up to 100 Afghans evacuated from Afghanistan and seeking to resettle in the United States have been “flagged†by Defense Department terrorism watch lists, according to a new report.
As President Joe Biden’s administration looks to fast-track tens of thousands of Afghans into the U.S. interior over the next few weeks, Defense Department officials are reportedly sounding the alarm over the potential for fraud.
An official, involved with the vetting and screening process taking place in third safe countries for Afghans seeking resettlement in the U.S., told Defense One that “up to 100 of the 7,000 Afghans evacuated as prospective recipients†of Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs have been “flagged†as “potential matches to intelligence agency watch lists.â€

Them: we’re doomed by ‘climate change’!
Also them: well, things will be fine where I move
Climate change be damned. More Americans are moving to high-risk areas
Seventeen years ago, when Adriana Nichols moved from New York City to Los Angeles, she had a simple wish list: natural light (her New York studio apartment was dark), a yard and quiet neighbors. She managed to check everything off that list — and has spent nearly two decades living in the canyons of LA.
But today, as she looks to move again with her husband, her requirements have changed.
“It is profoundly a different wish list. A place where we have [running] water, where we are not… having bags packed in case fires evacuate us,” said Nichols.
In the last few years, Nichols says the California wildfires and poor air quality make living there unappealing — and downright scary.
People starting fires, unintentionally and intentionally, is not the result of a changing climate, natural or anthropogenic. Especially in an area that is known to be fire-prone.
But she says nearly everyplace she looks to move to is experiencing some element of climate risk. And a new analysis by Redfin, a real estate brokerage, reveals more Americans are moving into areas that face the highest climate risks than ever before.
Redfin analyzed data from ClimateCheck, a real estate climate risk assessment provider, and the US Census, which showed that of the top 50 US counties facing climate risks in heat, storms, drought, flood and fire — the majority saw an increase in population over the last five years. (snip)
“Counterintuitively, people are moving to places with higher climate risk,” said Daryl Fairweather, chief economist at Redfin. “And it seems like climate, although it’s something that people care about, is at the bottom of the list or it’s not the top priority.”
It’s almost like climate cultists don’t actually believe what they’re proselytizing. Hence why Warmists like John Kerry, Al Gore, and Barack Obama bought homes at the sea.
(Fast Company) Florida, where coastal cities are facing stronger hurricanes and more flooding as sea levels rise, was among the top 10 fastest-growing states between 2010 and 2020. (The trajectory has continued through the pandemic, as an estimated 330,000 additional people moved to Florida between April 2020 and April 2021.) Utah, with the fastest population growth by percentage, is dealing with extreme drought, wildfires, and ongoing air pollution from fires in other states like California. Texas, another quickly growing state, is one of the places most at risk from both extreme heat and drought.
They keep wanting to push the sea rise doom and Stronger Hurricanes doom, yet, people keep moving there. Hurricanes are not getting stronger and sea rise is exactly average, when it should be at least 8-10 inches more per century.
“The White House has looked at international climate migration, and there’s a whole working group on that now, but there’s nothing on domestic climate migration,†says Jesse Keenan, an associate professor of real estate at the Tulane School of Architecture who studies climate change adaptation and the built environment. “I think that’s a missed opportunity on many fronts.â€
Well, that’s not disturbing at all. Almost seems like Keenan is recommending that the Government restrict where we can move. Anyhow, sure looks like Warmists like to be concerned in theory, but, not in practice.

I have to wonder, is this about the science, or about Progressive (nice Fascism) politicians liking the power over the citizens?
Masks to be required in Oregon’s outdoor public settings
People in Oregon, regardless of vaccination status, will once again be required to wear masks in most public outdoor settings — including large outdoor events where physical distancing is not possible — beginning Friday.
The mandate, announced Tuesday by Gov. Kate Brown, is part of a growing list of statewide requirements implemented in Oregon in an attempt to slow the rapid spread of COVID-19.
Oregon is one of a handful of states with an indoor mask mandate in effect. But it’s the first to reinstitute a statewide mask requirement for outdoor public areas where people are close together, according to the governor’s office. (snip)
The new mandate requires masks in outdoor settings in which people from different households are unable to consistently maintain physical distance. The rule does not apply to “fleeting encounters,†such as two people walking by each other on a trail or in a park.
While the rule does not apply to outdoor gatherings at private residences with individuals from different households, the Oregon Health Authority strongly recommends that people wear a mask during those scenarios.
You know two things: the people in the big, Democrat run cities will be wearing them everywhere outside, and officials will demand that they wear them everywhere outside. Second, the areas outside of the big, Dem run cities will say “to hell with that” and keep living their lives. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a resurgence of the secession movement for parts of Oregon.
(KPTV) The rule does not apply to children under 5; people who are actively eating drinking and sleeping; people experiencing homelessness; people who are playing competitive sports, and people performing outdoors.
Wait, they actually think it’s necessary to say that people do not need to wear them while sleeping? Really? Nice exemption for the sports teams, as football, both college and pro, are getting ready to start. Remember, this is the same governor who signed a law saying students do not have to prove they’re proficient in math, reading, and writing to graduate. Does she go the full Australia route?
COVID and Tyranny in Australia
Australia (along with New Zealand) was touted as the gold standard in terms of their COVID-19 response in the early stages of the pandemic. How did they do it? They locked everything down and paid people (with money printing) to stay at home. Seems simple enough and even understandable given the unknowns at the time and the lack of a vaccine. It never was a viable long term strategy but the country came together to face the pandemic. (snip)
Are the residents of Australia bearing the brunt of the government’s failure? Does the government have more authority over your basic freedoms now than before the pandemic? Have they incited fear in order to grab power? Have they assumed they know what’s good for you better than you do?
Yes, yes, yes and yes. It sure does seem that way.
Read the rest. The only thing standing in the way in Oregon is the federal Bill of Rights and the state Bill of Rights, but, then, Progressives have never cared to follow them when inconvenient.
It’s probably working. It’s worked in the case of China, where Warmists keep believing China’s BS on the nation fighting ‘climate change’ even though they keep doing things like building more and more coal fired power plants
Seeking World Recognition, Taliban Vows to Help Fight Terror and Climate Change
In comments shared exclusively with Newsweek, a senior Taliban official has called for global recognition of his group’s rule over Afghanistan, where he vowed militants would never again be allowed to launch attacks against other countries.
And he said his group has plenty to offer if the world embraces it. (snip)
As these conversations develop, Abdul Qahar Balkhi, a member of the Taliban’s Cultural Commission, told Newsweek that his group sought worldwide recognition of the Islamic Emirate. (snip)
And he argued that such a move (recognizing the Taliban’s rule over Afghanistan) would be to the benefit of not only Afghanistan but nations across the globe.
“We believe the world has a unique opportunity of rapprochement and coming together to tackle the challenges not only facing us but the entire humanity,” Balkhi added, “and these challenges ranging from world security and climate change need the collective efforts of all, and cannot be achieved if we exclude or ignore an entire people who have been devastated by imposed wars for the past four decades.”
They’re saying the right things to sway Progressives, who will care less about the brutality of the Taliban, how they treat women, and other issues as long as the Taliban says the right things.
And though the Taliban have expressed their concern for the environment and its future, the group’s takeover place it effectively in control of what’s estimated by the U.S. Geological Survey to be up to $1 trillion in mineral resources. The reserves include lithium, an increasingly sought-after rare mineral, which may attract further investment from regional countries such as China, which already dominates the rare-earth market critical for producing modern technology.
And they will ignore the environmental destruction, along with the human rights violations (just like with China), if they can get the reserves which will help in “going green”, like electric cars.

Joe is dancing to the tune of the Taliban, rather than doing all that’s necessary to protect Americans. Carter might have failed with Iran, but, at least he tried
First US troops have started leaving Afghanistan as Biden decides not to extend withdrawal deadline
Several hundred US troops have left Afghanistan, on the same day President Joe Biden decided not to extend the August 31 evacuation deadline, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby confirmed Tuesday evening.
“These troops represent a mix of headquarters staff, maintenance and other enabling functions that were scheduled to leave and whose mission at the airport was complete. Their departure represents prudent and efficient force management. It will have no impact on the mission at hand,” Kirby said in a statement, confirming CNN’s earlier reporting from two defense officials that the US’ troop withdrawal from Afghanistan had kicked off.
The fact that a small number of American troops have already left underlines how quickly the situation is moving. The pace of evacuations has rapidly ramped up in recent days but with a week until Biden’s deadline, the US military will soon be forced to switch from transporting Americans and Afghans out to concentrating on safely moving all the troops out and winding down the security operation at the airport.
They’re in the military, right? They can pick up a weapon and protect the airport, protect Americans. Of course, Team Joe won’t let them go and bring Americans to the airport
US embassy issues last alert for US citizens to leave afghanistan or they’re on their own, then recalls it 30 mins later.

They may have recalled it, but, that’s what they mean. Americans are on their own
Boris Johnson today pleaded with the Taliban to allow people to leave Afghanistan after the US has completed its withdrawal on August 31.
Mr Johnson, Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel used a G7 summit to urge Joe Biden to extend the deadline to provide more time for airlifts from Kabul airport to take place.
But the entreaties appear to have fallen on deaf ears with the Mr Biden expected to stick to his exit date for US forces.
A humiliated Mr Johnson said after the summit that the UK will continue to conduct airlifts from the country ‘right up until the last moment’ as he called on the Taliban to guarantee ‘safe passage’ for anyone who wants to leave after August 31.
The Taliban today repeated blood-curdling warnings of consequences if there was an attempt to extend the deadline as the group said no-one would be permitted to leave.
‘All people should be removed prior to that date,’ a spokesman told a press conference in the capital. ‘After that we do not allow them. We will take a different stance.’
According to Reuters, the Pentagon told Mr Biden the risks to American forces are too high if they defy the Taliban.
First, it would be great if there was a leak on the conference call Johnson, Merkel, and Macron surely had after talking with Surrender Joe. It would surely be brutal. Especially on how they can no longer depend on Joe. We already know they’re turning to Russia for help. Second, isn’t that the job of American forces, to safeguard Americans? Especially when the US government created the danger for the citizens?
Even Canada is trying to stay in Afghanistan to rescue people. Not #SurrenderJoe https://t.co/v19UrFlcgn

The Middle East Is Becoming Literally Uninhabitable
This summer, several picturesque countries in the Middle East became tinderboxes. As extreme temperatures and severe droughts ravaged the region, forests burned, and cities became islands of unbearable heat. In June, Kuwait recorded a temperature of 53.2 degrees Celsius (127.76 degrees Fahrenheit), while Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia all recorded over 50 degrees (122 degrees). A month later, temperatures in Iraq spiked to 51.5 degrees (124.7 degrees), and Iran recorded a close 51 degrees (123.8 degrees).
ZOMG, it gets hot in a desert area! No mention of the snows in the Middle East, but, then, they’d blame those on ‘climate change’, too.
Worst of all, this is just the start of a trend. The Middle East is warming at twice the global average and by 2050 will be 4 degrees Celsius warmer as compared with the 1.5 degree mark that scientists have prescribed to save humanity. The World Bank says extreme climatic conditions will become routine and the region could face four months of scorching sun every year. According to Germany’s Max Planck Institute, many cities in the Middle East may literally become uninhabitable before the end of the century. And the region, ravaged by war and mired in sectarianism, may be singularly ill-prepared to face the challenges that threaten its collective existence.
Have you noticed that pretty much everywhere is warming twice as fast as everywhere else? Oh, right, this is a cult, so, nothing makes sense.
Since the region is split between haves and have-nots, it is the poorer cousins of the oil-rich countries that have been the first to face social disorder over the lack of basic amenities, such as water and electricity, that people desperately need to survive the extreme heat. These countries are ruled by ineffective governments, autocrats, or clerics and have dilapidated energy infrastructure and deep-rooted structural deficiencies that block the promotion of and technological innovation in renewable energy. Experts say political and economic reforms that strengthen institutions and promote businesses to think freely are essential to reduce carbon emissions and ensure a shift to clean energy in the Middle East.
This isn’t about science, is it.
The connection between climate change and the revolutions and wars of the Arab Spring is hotly debated. But there are clear and unarguable linkages between poor governance, environmental mismanagement, urbanization, and urban unrest in communities poorly served with water, air conditioning, and other amenities. The thought of what will happen in these cities as climate change worsens living conditions, if the standards of governance remain the same, is a frightening one. “Climate change and the consequent increase in weather extremes add to the challenges imposed by regional conflicts, leading to additional incentives for people to migrate, for example,â€Â Lelieveld said.
Obviously, extremist Islam has nothing to do with anything. Can’t we just go back to before the Industrial Revolution when there were no wars or conflicts?
