Unless you’re a conservative/Republican, then they will suspend you willy nilly. My old account was given time-outs and suspensions many times before being permanently suspended. They never told me why the last. My new account has been given a few timeouts and a 7 day suspension (that one was for scientifically noting that the gender confused have many more mental health issues and a higher percentage of suicidal thoughts and suicide, and it’s a really bad idea to have them around military grade weapons). Plenty of others have gone through the same, while liberals making actual threats are allowed to continue
Twitter declares access to its platform a ‘human right’ amid censorship of conservatives
Twitter declared a free and open Internet to be “an essential human right in modern society” Saturday morning after the Nigerian government banned access to the social media giant following a dispute with its president – even as critics say it suppresses conservative content and bans its own users.
Twitter deleted a fiery tweet from President Muhammadu Buhari that many perceived as a veiled threat against violent separatists in the nation’s southeast – then his government’s information wing responded by banning the social media platform from the country.
“The Federal Government has suspended, indefinitely, the operations of the microblogging and social networking service, Twitter, in Nigeria,” the country’s Federal Ministry of Information and Culture tweeted Friday night.
Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, also announced that the government would begin licensing social media platforms and “OTT,” or over-the-top, operations, which offer content directly to viewers via the internet.
“We are deeply concerned by the blocking of Twitter in Nigeria,” Twitter’s Public Policy division tweeted in response. “Access to the free and #OpenInternet is an essential human right in modern society. We will work to restore access for all those in Nigeria who rely on Twitter to communicate and connect with the world. #KeepitOn.”
Now, this is not about the tweet from the Nigerian president, which was over-the-top and a bit threatening, this is about Twitter declaring its platform a human right, despite giving timeouts, suspensions, and shadowbans to people engaged in Wrongthink.
Access to the free & #OpenInternet is an essential human right in modern society… unless you’re Donald Trump. Or reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop. Or discussing the biology of gender. Or the murderous dictator of Iran. Or a Chinese Communist Party peon lying about COVID. ???????????
— Liz Wheeler (@Liz_Wheeler) June 5, 2021
So why are you depriving President Trump, Laura Loomer, Mike Lindell, Milo Yiannopoulos, Alex Jones, and countless others of this "essential human right"?
— Lauren Chen (@TheLaurenChen) June 5, 2021
Many more tweets at the above link. At the Blaze we get
Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz: “Curious. In Twitter’s own words, they are willfully denying Donald Trump ‘an essential human right in modern society.'”
Former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell: “For years we’ve pointed out your failure to let the Iranian people on twitter. Why ignore Iran but take a stand on Nigeria?”
BlazeTV host Steve Deace: “This shamelessly comes from an entity that believes in non-disclosed and unaccountable systems to deny people access to its own platform. Self-awareness is dead.”
It seems that a lot of people do not even know why they were suspended, whether temporarily or permanently. Twitter claimed my tweet was threatening. There was no threat, unless we’re talking some people who get triggered by Wrongthink. The Proud Boys were permanently suspended, yet, you can find all sorts of Antifa accounts (Philly protects theirs). I don’t agree with either of their beliefs, but, why is one kicked off and the others aren’t? Antifa posts tweets for their violent demonstrations.
Author Jack Posobiec: “I can’t wait to remind Twitter that their public policy position is platform access is a human right and those blocked from use must have their access restored Again and again and again.”
Yeah, I have it saved for “just in case.” Progressives are shameless, and hypocrites.

Well, really, anyone who isn’t a climate cultist will know this. Heck, most of the big wig grand poobah cultists will know this: they just don’t care. It’s a feature, not a bug
Climate Order Will Undermine U.S. Financial Stability
Late last month, President Joe Biden issued yet another executive order related to fighting climate change that will effectively conscript the U.S. financial sector into the climate war.
This executive order sets out to effectively transform the nation’s energy sector and the economy, writ large, based on the vapid claim that “intensifying impacts of climate change present physical risk to assets, publicly traded securities, private investments and companies – such as extreme weather risk leading to supply chain disruptions.â€
Specifically, the president’s order directs federal agencies that oversee the private financial sector, including banks, insurers and investment firms, to assess “climate-related financial risk†of the stability of the federal government and U.S. financial system. This arbitrary, bureaucratic assessment of financial risk will then set the table for massive federal intervention into the U.S. private sector for it to divest from fossil fuels and redirect to more “green energy†projects.
Nowhere does the order deign to provide evidence nor actual science to back up such sweeping climate change rhetoric, much less justify the government’s massive market intervention—without even a vote by Congress—to re-direct trillions of dollars in the private sector economy.
That’s the point of “the debate is over” rhetoric: that there’s no need to supply any facts, proof, data, reasoning, and so forth. It just is, accept it, give us your money and freedom
President Biden and his administration of global warming generals would have us believe they are fighting a war to save Earth. Instead, it is ordinary Americans who are and will be paying for this pointless war with their jobs and livelihoods and even their retirement savings. All this, with zero guarantee it will impact the climate in any way. Compounding this futility is other large, fossil-fuel consuming nations like China, Russia and India, which have no such climate obsession.
Transitioning to “net-zero†greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, were it possible, is not cost-free, regardless how many illusory promises are made for good-paying green jobs. Every renewable energy source is produced and sustained by fossil fuels, which makes the “renewable†label a fallacy. Solar panels, wind turbines and electric car batteries cannot exist without oil and gas, including the ability to mine for the necessary raw materials to manufacture them.
All this will do will skyrocket energy prices, food prices, consumer goods prices, the overall cost of living.
President Biden’s recent executive order will increasingly make safe, abundant and affordable energy cost-prohibitive to low- and middle-income families. Rather than ensuring a stable U.S. financial system, this undemocratic action will undermine U.S. economic competitiveness, national security and financial stability.
They don’t care. Because they are a cult, and all they see is future Doom, despite the actual scientific measurements saying nothing is getting worse. Hurricanes are not, tornadoes are not, sea rise is not accelerating, etc and so forth. It will make people more reliant on Government, and Government have more control.
Yet, notice that most of these people pushing this, especially China Joe and his people, are not giving up their own use of fossil fuels, aren’t making their own lives carbon neutral. Surprise?

This should make for some interesting apoplexy in the People’s Republik Of California
U.S. judge overturns California’s ban on assault weapons
A federal judge Friday overturned California’s three-decade-old ban on assault weapons, ruling that it violates the constitutional right to bear arms.
U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez of San Diego ruled that the state’s definition of illegal military-style rifles unlawfully deprives law-abiding Californians of weapons commonly allowed in most other states and by the U.S. Supreme Court.
“Under no level of heightened scrutiny can the law survive,” Benitez said. He issued a permanent injunction against enforcement of the law but stayed it for 30 days to give state Attorney General Rob Bonta time to appeal.
Gov. Gavin Newsom condemned the decision, calling it “a direct threat to public safety and the lives of innocent Californians, period.”
In his 94-page ruling, the judge spoke favorably of modern weapons, said they were overwhelmingly used for legal reasons.
“Like the Swiss Army knife, the popular AR-15 rifle is a perfect combination of home defense weapon and homeland defense equipment. Good for both home and battle,” the judge said in his ruling’s introduction.
This has all made Gavin pretty upset, so much so that he won’t give up his own armed protection. And will appeal the ruling
Assault weapons as defined by the law are more dangerous than other firearms and are disproportionately used in crimes, mass shootings and against law enforcement, with more resulting casualties, the state attorney general’s office argued, and barring them “furthers the state’s important public safety interests.â€
They are? Funny how they cannot provide the science on this
Despite California’s ban, there currently are an estimated 185,569 assault weapons registered with the state, the judge said.
“This is an average case about average guns used in average ways for average purposes,” the ruling said. “One is to be forgiven if one is persuaded by news media and others that the nation is awash with murderous AR-15 assault rifles. The facts, however, do not support this hyperbole, and facts matter.”
“In California, murder by knife occurs seven times more often than murder by rifle,” he added.
And how many of those rifles are not scary looking “assault rifles”? Because non scary rifles tend to fire the same rounds.
Meanwhile
When will all these celebs give up their own armed security? https://t.co/13ZNvvZ2cR

It’s rather nice to see more and more people realizing that the anthropogenic climate change movement is not about science: it’s about Modern Socialism and runs like a cult
Texas Sen. John Cornyn calls climate change advocacy a ‘cult’
In a departure from his typically measured rhetoric on energy and climate policy, Sen. John Cornyn derided concern about climate change as a “cult†during an energy summit in East Texas.
“It’s pure fantasy. … This is part of the cult, or religion, of renewable energy,†Cornyn told a group of oil and gas executives Thursday in Tyler. “This is just the Green New Deal wearing other clothes.â€
The senator was responding to a question about whether he agreed with a sweeping Biden administration plan to transition the energy sector to 100% emissions-free electricity by 2035.
Referring to climate change advocates as a cult is an unusual move for Cornyn, a reliable booster of Texas’ fossil fuel industries who, unlike Sen. Ted Cruz, has not overtly denied that potentially catastrophic changes are underway in the climate largely because of human activity.
It is a cult. A cult full of hypocrites who mostly refuse to practice what they preach, but a cult nonetheless.
Cornyn has been a vocal critic of efforts to get electric vehicles on the road, saying the push subsidizes pricier vehicles for wealthy Americans.
“I support efforts to reduce carbon emissions, to preserve our air, land and water for future generations,†Cornyn said last week on the Wyden bill. “But those efforts don’t have to come at this sort of exorbitant price. You can support all energy sectors and innovation and conservation. These are not mutually exclusive.â€
If this was all about fixing the world’s climate, thinking that they can actually do that, the Believers would be doing all they can to reduce their own carbon footprints. They don’t. They just want to force Other People to do so. If only more Republicans would point this out.
I wonder if anyone will bother doing studies in US states with the strictest lockdowns, to see if the there are similar results
Lockdown ‘had no effect’ on coronavirus pandemic in Germany
A new study by German scientists claims to have found evidence that lockdowns may have had little effect on controlling the coronavirus pandemic.
Statisticians at Munich University found “no direct connection†between the German lockdown and falling infection rates in the country.
Instead, the study found infection rates had already clearly begun to fall before a national lockdown was imposed last November.
It also found clear evidence the rate was already falling on the two occasions the lockdown was tightened, in December and April.
The study focused on the R number, which indicates how many people each infected person passes the virus to. The scientists argue it is less easily distorted by fluctuating test rates than the weekly infection rates used by the German government to decide lockdown restrictions.
The study found that on each occasion the R number was already under 1 before the new restrictions came into force, indicating that infections were falling. The lockdown has since been lifted across most of the country.
Perhaps the initial early 2020 lockdown made a difference: the study doesn’t seem to touch on that. But, the others were really not necessary.
The study was quickly seized on by lockdown opponents, but its authors were at pains to stress they were not making a political argument.
“You can’t tell from the data that the lockdown was unnecessary,†Prof Ralph Brinks, one of the study’s co-authors, told German television.
“All that it shows is that the start of lockdown and the fall in infections do not coincide.†Germany went into “lockdown liteâ€, with restaurants and bars closed but non-essential shops open, on November 2.
Interesting to see scientists saying they were not trying to be political, that the science speaks for itself. Rather rare these days. How much effect did the initial lockdown have in Germany? How about in the U.S. and other nations? Most people might have been stuck at home, but, they were still going to the grocery store and other essential places. Remember, we were told it would be 15 days. Why were so many who were at home getting it?

WATCH: North Face refused to make jackets for an oil and gas company.
So the fossil fuel industry is fighting back with a new campaign “thanking” North Face for using so much petroleum in their products.

And
Oil and gas industry trolls North Face with new billboard campaign
The oil and gas industry launched a new ad campaign Thursday against North Face to shine a light on the outdoor apparel company’s “crazy hypocrisy.”
Chris Wright, the CEO of Denver-based Liberty Oilfield Services, is spearheading the campaign by putting up billboards around North Face’s Denver offices and launching a website and social media campaign, dubbed “Thank you, North Face.”
The idea for the campaign started after North Face denied an order of jackets to a Texas oil and gas company reportedly because the popular fleece maker did not want its outdoor brand affiliated with the fossil fuel business.
Now Wright is trolling the company in Denver by calling out how many North Face jackets, backpacks and clothing products are made from oil and gas.
There’s “no chance that North Face could exist as a company or an organization without oil and gas,” Wright told Fox Business Thursday.
Fossil fuels are needed to make the petrochemicals that are used in the plastics, nylon, climbing ropes and more that North Face sells, Wright says. Oil and gas products fuel the factories that manufacture the goods. And fossil fuels are the backbone for shipping North Face products around the world.
Exactly. The jackets and shoes and backpacks and luggage and ropes. Delivering the products to the stores and customer direct using fossil fueled vehicles. It’s really easy to ClimaVirtue Signal, but, let’s see them forgo all use of fossil fuels.
