Bummer: Young Biden Voters Opting To Not Get Vaccine

Hmm, I wonder why they aren’t getting vaccinated?

Young Americans Aren’t Getting Vaccinated, Jeopardizing Covid-19 Fight

Millions of Americans have rolled up their sleeves to get vaccinated against Covid-19, but one group is well behind: young adults.

Their reluctance is a significant part of why the U.S. missed the Biden administration’s goal of getting 70% of the adult population a first dose by July 4, and it is impeding efforts to develop the communitywide immunity sought to move past the pandemic and fend off Delta and other variants.

Now government health authorities are dialing up efforts encouraging 18- to 29-year-olds to get vaccinated.

The outreach will have to overcome the hesitancy of many young adults who don’t see the urgency given their relatively low risk of severe cases, are spooked by confusing information on social media and generally feel invincible, public-health experts say. (snip)

Some 38% of people ages 18 to 29 years received at least one vaccine dose, the lowest rate among any age group eligible to get immunized, according to a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report late last month. The elderly had the highest vaccination rate, at 80%. (snip)

Young adults 18 to 39 years who said in surveys they were reluctant to get vaccinated indicated they were concerned about side effects, didn’t trust the shots, planned to wait and see if the vaccine was safe or simply didn’t believe vaccination was necessary, according to another CDC report.

Well, that’s a shot in the arm, eh? These are the people the Democrats depend on for voting, who are opting out.

Kerry Takes Long Fossil Fueled Flight To Yammer With Russia On Climate Crisis (scam)

I’m pretty sure that there are many more pressing issues when it comes to Russia

US and Russia pledge to ‘move together’ against climate change

John Kerry climateThe US and Russia have agreed to forge “close co-operation” on climate change, in the first positive sign of a potential easing of tensions between the two countries since a high-stakes presidential summit last month.

John Kerry, the White House’s special climate envoy, held talks in Moscow on Monday and pledged to “move together” with the Kremlin ahead of crunch global climate meetings in Glasgow this November.

Climate change is one of the few areas where there is hope of enhanced collaboration between Moscow and Washington. It is seen as a promising testing ground for a first step in improving wider ties, which are riven with distrust over cyber warfare, allegations of election meddling and years of tit-for-tat sanctions that have severed many economic ties. (snip through many of the other issues)

But Biden has made combating climate change a key focus of his presidency, and argued that the need to work with Moscow on the issue outweighed other concerns over collaborating with an adversary.

“Obviously we have some differences in the relationship between our two countries . . . We believe that there is space for us to co-operate in [combating climate change] and to perhaps open up better opportunities on other issues as we do,” Kerry said at the start of talks with Sergei Lavrov, Russia’s veteran foreign minister.

“This issue is too important, too significant, and we very much need to move together,” Kerry added, addressing his host as Sergey.

Lavrov said Kerry’s visit to Russia was “an important positive sign in terms of developing bilateral relations, lifting tension, and arranging professional, substantive work in areas where common ground can be found”.

Russia is “hoping for close co-operation with the United States . . . in order to secure a successful meeting in Glasgow this coming fall,” he added.

Well, isn’t that special. It’s actually surprising that Russia hasn’t jumped on the Climate Emergency scam, since it is a great way to enforce governmental dominance over citizens and private entities, limiting freedom, liberty, and choice, all while painting this as beneficial and benevolent, because we are Saving The Earth from having a fever. It’s Progressivism, which is Nice Fascism, which means “we’re doing this for your own good.” But, then, Russia has never been hesitant on doing all that without being nice. Maybe they’re catching on. Or maybe they’re just scamming Kerry and Biden.

Putin, who four years ago blamed rising global temperatures on volcanoes and “cosmic changes”, last month said man-made climate change was a “tragedy” and that humans “must minimise the impact we have”.

Yeah, Putin is catching on. And it should, in a rational world, give people pause as to why a nominal dictator/strongman wants to move his country in this direction.

DNC, Other Democrats Applying Pressure To Get Phone Companies To Censor Text Messages

Democrats love calling everyone they disagree with Nazis, Literally Hitler, Fascists. But, Democrats get very upset when you call them Fascist, authoritarian, repressive. Because they totally love them some freedom! And you’re a Nazi if you disagree! And it’s totally not Big Government if they do this

Democrats are pressuring companies to censor text messages about Biden’s pandemic response

Allies of President Joe Biden are pressuring phone companies to censor text messages that might carry disinformation about the administration’s response to the pandemic.

The Biden administration is taking more aggressive actions against what they consider to be disinformation from critics on their right, according to the Politico report.

Left-wing groups, including the Democratic National Committee, are planning to also engage fact-checkers to fight back against dissenting voices.

From the Politico piece, 7th paragraph

Biden allied groups, including the Democratic National Committee, are also planning to engage fact-checkers more aggressively and work with SMS carriers to dispel misinformation about vaccines that is sent over social media and text messages. The goal is to ensure that people who may have difficulty getting a vaccination because of issues like transportation see those barriers lessened or removed entirely.

Hmm, that sounds like censorship. That sounds like these Progressive (nice Fascist) groups are applying pressure for companies to censor private messages sent through a private network from private individuals/groups to other private individuals/groups, who have paid to be provided a network without company interference.

The Biden administration is casting conservative opponents of its Covid-19 vaccine campaign as dangerous and extreme, adopting a more aggressive political posture in an attempt to maneuver through the public health conundrum.

The White House has decided to hit back harder on misinformation and scare tactics after Republican lawmakers and conservative activists pledged to fight the administration’s stated plans to go “door-to-door” to increase vaccination rates. The pushback will include directly calling out social media platforms and conservative news shows that promote such tactics.

So the White House is going to call out people engaged in Free Speech? Surprise!

Only Government Can Save Us From The Climate Emergency (scam) Or Something

Funny how it always comes down to government authoritarianism, eh? First, though

A ‘wobble’ in the moon’s orbit could result in record flooding in the 2030s, new study finds

Climate change has already increased the frequency and severity of hurricanes and other extreme weather events around the world. — But there’s a smaller, less splashy threat on the horizon that could wreak havoc on America’s coasts. (no, they haven’t)

High-tide floods, also called “nuisance floods,” occur in coastal areas when tides reach about 2 feet (0.6 meters) above the daily average high tide and begin to flood onto streets or seep through storm drains. True to their nickname, these floods are more of a nuisance than an outright calamity, inundating streets and homes, forcing businesses to close and causing cesspools to overflow — but the longer they last, the more damage they can do. (big snip)

The moon influences the tides, but the power of the moon’s pull isn’t equal from year to year; the moon actually has a “wobble” in its orbit, slightly altering its position relative to Earth on a rhythmic 18.6-year cycle. For half of the cycle, the moon suppresses tides on Earth, resulting in lower high tides and higher low tides. For the other half of the cycle, tides are amplified, with higher high tides and lower low tides, according to NASA.

We are currently in the tide-amplifying part of the cycle; the next tide-amplifying cycle begins in the mid-2030s; — and, by then, global sea levels will have risen enough to make those higher-than-normal high tides particularly troublesome, the researchers found.

Huh. Nature is making this happen? Oh, right, it is worse because you ate a cheeseburger

Technology won’t save us from climate change. Government must act (Your Letters)

It may be reassuring, but we should have no illusions that a “hydrogen economy” (”The future is now for carbon-free Hydrogen Economy,” July 9, 2021) is going to become established in the time frame within which science says we must act to avoid the most catastrophic consequences of climate change.

And setting aside a technical discussion of whether hydrogen can truly be a source of green energy (as opposed to merely a different carrier of energy produced by existing renewable sources), the more troublesome aspect of the letter was the apparent dismissal of government’s role in tackling the enormous challenge of climate change, based on the belief that “[t]he vision and creativity of our science and engineering community will continue to develop the ‘Hydrogen Economy’ and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions through creative practice.”

This is the “techno-optimism” that politicians often use to punt on the climate change challenge. And it must be recognized that, difficult as it may be, government action on the climate change issue is essential. That action should be legislation that incentivizes both innovation in the green energy space and also wider adoption of existing technologies, whether those be hydrogen, wind, solar, nuclear; or, best of all, more efficient energy consumption. Carbon pricing is the simplest, most straightforward policy for accomplishing that objective.

Of course they want Government and taxes. Just on Other People, right?

Rather than defaulting to cynicism about government or passively waiting for a technological savior to rescue us from the climate crisis, each of us can exercise our political power to let our representatives know that climate change is a priority for us as constituents. Contact your Congressional representatives and demand they support legislation that puts a price on carbon pollution.

Or, Warmists could practice what they preach.

Climate change is a global challenge that requires a global perspective

Two defining issues of our time raise tough questions about the United States’ relationship with the rest of the world. A recent essay argued that the twin challenges of a global pandemic and climate change are similar because they force wealthy countries like the U.S. to rethink their global challenges and opportunities. Such discussions are not always pleasant.

Like the struggle to contain the worldwide spread of a lethal virus, the task of slowing the inadvertent but substantial alteration of our climate faces higher hurdles because any long-term solution to the problem requires cooperation between nations in vastly different situations. But there is an upside to the international dimension of the climate puzzle. The contributions of diverse countries worldwide working toward solutions offer greater chances for success than if each one was going it alone.

Only Big Government can solve this, folks!

Bummer: Sleepy Joe’s Vaccination Push Hits A Wall

There were so many things that could have been done. Democrats not poo-pooing the vaccinations as spearheaded by Trump with Operation Warp Speed, causing many Democrat voters to say “no thanks!” Not pushing all the silly talking points that engage Democrats and turn off Republicans when Sleepy Joe took office. Not keeping a united front by enticing Trump to be involved in the push for vaccination after Joe took office. So, what now?

Biden’s vaccine charge hits a wall

The Biden administration is running out of ideas for jumpstarting the pace of coronavirus vaccinations, raising the prospect that more than a quarter of American adults could still be vulnerable to the virus into the fall.

The federal immunization campaign has slammed into rising partisanship and deep resistance among the 91 million adults who remain unvaccinated, turning what was once an all-out sprint into a marathon with no clear end in sight.

Even as President Joe Biden vows a “neighborhood-by-neighborhood” vaccination effort, a half-dozen federal and state officials working on the Covid-19 response acknowledged in interviews that none of their outreach efforts are likely to supercharge vaccination rates — and that there are few remaining options to try.

The administration is now strategizing over how to manage a nation with 68 percent of the population at least partially vaccinated, where pockets of the country will be subjected to periodic outbreaks while the majority of Americans move on.

If you’re only partially vaccinated, you aren’t vaccinated. Further, pushing the insanity of going to people’s doors turns people off even more. Further, things like this do not help

Vaccinated commissioners at Florida condo site contract COVID

A vaccinated Miami-Dade county commissioner who helped other local officials in Surfside following the collapse of a condominium building announces that he and his chief of staff tested positive for COVID-19.

The news release from Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Jose “Pepe” Diaz says he and his chief of staff Isidoro Lopez, who also received a vaccine against COVID-19, came down with flu-like symptoms earlier in the day and later tested positive for the virus.

The vaccines do not fully stop people from getting COVID, but, will reduce the severity of the symptoms in those few cases. But, we keep hearing about vaccinated people getting COVID, and the White House and their media Comrades do a piss poor job in communicating this. Back to original article

Most recently, the administration scrambled to tamp down backlash to Health secretary Xavier Becerra’s insistence that “it is absolutely the government’s business” to know which Americans have been vaccinated — an episode described as frustrating for officials already trying to combat misinformation surrounding the vaccines.

That kind of Big Nanny Government really doesn’t help, eh?

The White House in the meantime is redoubling efforts to convert the unvaccinated by intensifying outreach programs and further expanding the vaccines’ availability, all while adopting an increasingly urgent tone.

With lots of nagging

Biden’s Covid-19 response team has instead turned its recent focus on driving up the vaccination rate for younger Americans. Officials believe a significant number are still open to getting the shot but haven’t gone out of their way to seek it.

Interesting. Those young folks who voted China Joe have low rates. A piece at the USA Today recommends not trying to persuade. Also, getting “influencers” involved.

Jeff Zients, the White House’s Covid-19 response coordinator, and other federal officials have met privately in recent weeks with various school associations to encourage them to turn their individual schools into vaccination sites — and get eligible students their shots well before classrooms open up in the fall.

Which is going to cause concern for parents of those under 18 that the school might give the COVID vaccine to their kids without permission.

Anyhow, what will the Sleepy Joe admin do? They do not really seem to have a strategy other than authoritarianism and nagging.

Good News: Lots Of Big Shots Take Private Flights To Discuss Hotcoldwetdry

This is rather the norm for climate crisis (scam) conference, but, rarely does this make the news

Billionaires descend on Sun Valley in private jets to talk about climate change

A cabal of some of the most high-profile people in media, finance, and technology descended on Idaho’s resort town of Sun Valley in private jets this week to tackle, among other things, climate change.

On Tuesday, the day the conference kicked off, traffic from private jets got to be so busy that the Federal Aviation Administration temporarily banned planes on the West Coast from taking off.

The FAA told Fox News it briefly held planes on the ground at their departure airports to avoid congestion in the airspace around Sun Valley.

The manager of the Friedman Memorial Airport in the neighboring town of Hailey, Idaho told NPR ahead of the conference he expected more than 90 private planes.

A session preaching the perils of climate change to people who flew to the event on their own carbon-emitting Gulfstream jets rankled some business leaders that Fox Business contacted earlier in the week.

“Talking climate change on his private jet?” one CEO remarked with a laugh, referring to Gates.

The article features one photo of Bill Gates’ private jet in attendance

This is a gathering of uber-millionaires and billionaires, including Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, and the aforementioned Bill Gates. Who’ll surely take long fossil fueled private jet flights to the next UN IPCC Conference on the Parties in Scotland this fall, just like usual. What are any of them doing in their own lives to reduce their own carbon footprints? They could have done this on a Zoom call.

NY Times, State Department Provide Serious Hot Takes On Cuban Protests

The Cuban people have taken to the streets, and we get

Liberals in America have the Freedom to hate on the U.S. Flag, the symbol of freedom the world over. So

Perhaps it’s just a poor choice of words to write “”Freedom” and other anti-government slogans” in that manner, especially when we are talking about a Communist dictatorship. But, this is the NY Times, so, it’s just horrible. They could have written “shouting freedom and other pro-liberty slogans.” None of which the Times bothers to mention. Especially when

Within hours of the extraordinary events, the president broke into national television programming to urge government supporters to hit the streets and confront the protesters. He blamed the United States for restricting exports, access to funds and travel to Cuba, which led to widespread shortages.

“We call all revolutionaries to hit the streets to defend the revolution everywhere,” the president said. He added that people loyal to the revolution were willing to give their lives to defend the government. “Over our dead bodies,” he said. “We are prepared to do anything.”

Well, not the dead bodies of President Miguel Díaz-Canel nor other big shot government members. Then there’s the U.S. State Dept

(Fox News) The U.S. State Department was criticized Sunday over a tweet that tied the historic protests that broke out in Cuba to COVID-19 concerns in the country where people have been living under communism for decades.

Julie Chung, the acting assistant secretary for the department’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, posted, “Peaceful protests are growing in Cuba as the Cuban people exercise their right to peaceful assembly to express concern about rising COVID case/deaths & medicine shortage. We commend the numerous efforts of the Cuban people mobilizing donations to help neighbors.”

Reports out of the country said protesters chanted “Freedom,” “Enough,” and “We Want Liberty.” Critics say the COVID-19 crisis seems to be on the periphery of the country’s discontent.

So glad out State Dept is there to spin it in a way to help out the communist government. But, then

Jake Sullivan, the White House national security adviser, took to Twitter to say the “U.S. supports freedom of expression and assembly across Cuba, and would strongly condemn any violence or targeting of peaceful protesters who are exercising their universal rights.”

Well, that’s interesting, since the Biden admin is arresting people who protested on January 6th, and simply walked around the Congressional Building, taking selfies, even staying within the roped lines. And then locked Washington down, keeping Citizens away from the capital.
