Nudist Mexican Paradise Zipolite Is Great Business for Tourism, but Bad For COVID
What to do when winter hits your country and COVID pandemic restrictions forces you to stay home? The right answer should be stay home, but thousands of U.S. and Canadian tourists flocked to Mexico’s nudist beach of Zipolite to leave something more than their dollars behind.
Zipolite, on the Pacific coast, has along with Tulum and Cancun become one of the most popular tourist destinations even though Mexico has now the third highest COVID mortality rate in the world.
During the first days of 2021, Zipolite welcomed thousands of foreign tourists looking to escape strict pandemic measures in their countries.
“We were just dealing with too much. Lockdown affected us a lot, and specially my daughter because we live in a small apartment, with no possibilities of going out somewhere. I feel we really needed to go out,†said George Barrera, a 35-year-old Texan who traveled with his family to Zipolite during the last days of January.
Zipolite sits in the San Pedro Pochutla municipality in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca.
If people want to take the risk, that’s their choice, is it not? Kinda icked out at that guy flying to a nudist area with his daughter, but, really, people are allowed to go nude, most of them don’t.
Jane Cusak, 40, from Toronto, Canada, said she traveled with her dog expecting some restrictions on her arrival in Zipolite, but was surprised how relaxed it was.
“I was planning for Tulum, but read online that it’s now packed of tourists so I decided Zipolite, looking to get away from the city and enjoy a tranquil beach, not too crowded. I really was amazed at how relaxed the pandemic measures are down hereâ€, she said.
All we need is keep your distance, wash your hand, don’t touch your face.
During the last days of January, Oaxaca reached an all-time high record of infections with more than 22,000 cases in a single day, according to the Johns Hopkins University Center for Systems Science and Engineering (JHU CSSE).
But, that was not correlated with nudists going to the beach.
“If you still doubt on how safe Zipolite is during the pandemic, let me tell you, you have nothing to worry about, our beach is such a safe place that our deputy health minister, Hugo Lopez-Gatell Ramirez enjoyed it,†stated the publication shared by Pineda.
Zipolite or “the new Tulum†as some call it, is a sunny Mexican paradise worth waiting for, to enjoy naked and maskless once things finally get better.
As Coronado puts it: “Zipolite will be here forever, the virus won’t.â€
And the nudism probably helps. The big question is, why do news outlets expect free citizens to put up with the draconian, authoritarian dictates from mostly leftist government officials which didn’t work, really didn’t make a difference?

Now, since that prognostication has, as with all their prognostications, failed to materialize (of course, they’ll say this will all happen In The Future), they’re scrambling for reasons to continue perpetuating their cultish beliefs. Hence, the notion that snow, ice, and big cold spells are because you ate a cheeseburger with a carbon pollution infused beer. Climate Change May Be Why Frigid Weather Has Slid So Far South, Experts Say
The notion that the global phenomenon of a hotter planet could be sending a shocking cold wave into the southern United States might seem nonsensical. And every cold snap can be counted on to elicit quips and stunts from those who deny the science of climate change.
Yeah, it is nonsensical. Weather happens. And it isn’t because of you taking a fossil fueled trip to go skiing.
But the weather patterns that send freezing air from the polar vortex plunging all the way to the Gulf Coast could, like other forms of extreme weather, be linked to global warming — which is why climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe prefers the phrase “global weirding.â€
Hayhoe, who yammers on about wanting to have discussions with Skeptics while refusing to have discussions and blocking them on social media, while also saying she’s doing this for her religion, is probably not the best to listen to.
Winter storms are influenced by many factors, including the natural variability that affects all weather systems. The planet’s warming could be part of that icy blend, even while climate change is making winters milder overall.
The warming is primarily natural, but, why is it separated from “climate change”? Are they not the same? Oh, right, cult.
There is research suggesting that Arctic warming is weakening the jet stream, allowing the cold air to escape to the south, especially when a blast of additional warming strikes the stratosphere and deforms the vortex. The result can be episodes of plunging temperatures, even in places that rarely get nipped by frost.
Strangely, not one bit of research is cited. This is all the ravings of a cult.
Of course, bitter cold from the polar vortex has long been a part of the North American weather picture. Amy Butler, a research scientist at the NOAA Chemical Sciences Laboratory, has said that she has yet to find any long-term trend in polar vortex disruptions, which “occur naturally even in the absence of climate change.â€
So, Ms. Butler is basically saying that the whole talking point from the climate cult is mule fritters.
But Judah Cohen, director of seasonal forecasting at Atmospheric and Environmental Research, a company that provides information to clients about weather and climate-related risk, has identified general trends in winter storms. He was an author of a paper last year in the journal Nature Climate Change that found a sharp increase in Northeast winter storms over the decade from 2008 to 2018.
“Severe winter weather is much more frequent when the Arctic is warmest,†Cohen said, adding, “It’s not in spite of climate change but related to climate change.â€
Even if true, it doesn’t prove causation mostly/solely from Mankind’s carbon footprint. Also, what about all the big snows and cold snaps during the mid-1940’s to about 1978, when temps were slowly going down, to the point some were wondering if a new ice age was approaching? If the Arctic was colder shouldn’t that have meant less snow and cold, per cult “science?” Meh, these are cultists protecting their Beliefs.

Biden calls on Congress to ban assault weapons
On the third anniversary of the Parkland school shooting, President Joe Biden called on Congress to pass stricter gun laws, including banning assault weapons. In a statement from the White House, Mr. Biden on Sunday asked Congress to pass laws requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers.
“Today, as we mourn with the Parkland community, we mourn for all who have lost loved ones to gun violence,” Mr. Biden said.
The White House didn’t provide more details about Mr. Biden’s plan.
Plan? What plan? Biden was simply attempting to patronize the 2nd Amendment hating portion of his base
Their organization, March for Our Lives, has been pushing Mr. Biden to appoint a gun czar who would serve in a Cabinet-adjacent position. According to a statement sent to CNN in December, the group asked that a National Director of Gun Violence Prevention “reflect the understanding that gun violence is a public health crisis, and disproportionately affects our most vulnerable populations.”
Mr. Biden promised on the campaign trail to take action on guns within his first 100 days in office. Last week, gun control groups Everytown for Gun Safety, Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action said they met with members of the Biden administration. Both Everytown and Moms Demand said they have released roadmaps for how the Biden administration can take action on gun violence.
Let’s say Biden gets three of the four things mentioned: scary looking weapon ban, background checks for that super small amount of transactions which do not occur via a federally licensed firearms dealer, and banning high capacity magazines (because 10 is safe and 11 is not). Would this in any way stop the shootings in Democratic Party run areas like Chicago? No. For one thing, most shootings are not committed with rifles.
As for eliminating immunity, well, none of this will pass Congress. And, if the Democrat controlled House attempts to introduce legislation it will whip up voters against them in 2022. In the Senate, at a minimum you’d have Joe Manchin against all of this. Even if passed, it’s not going to stop all the shootings in Democrat run areas in the least. Guns from around the world would just be run across the porous borders that Joe doesn’t want controlled. It would just put more American businesses out of business and make it harder for law abiding citizens to purchase a firearm to protect themselves and their loved ones.
China Joe and the gun grabbers haven’t consider where law enforcement, the military, and other government authorities will get their firearms if they put American gun makers out of business. All that money would be put in the hands of foreign companies, and, since there have been reports that this removal of immunity would apply to ammunition makers, that’s a lot of money flowing to non-American companies.

Going Green May Hurt at First — But Fighting Climate Change Will Boost the S&P 500
Here’s where stocks will benefit most from climate change policies under President Biden, according to Bank of America.
Battling climate change will cost the U.S. as it moves toward a green economy — but the transition is crucial and will pay off for stocks and long-term growth, according to Bank of America Corp.
Climate change policies are mostly positive for the S&P 500 index, particularly in the long-run, Bank of America economists and equity and quantitative strategists said in a research report dated February 11. Corporate profits should rise as U.S. public and private sectors catch up to Europe in the fight against rising global temperatures, they predicted, benefiting the stock market.
Transitioning to a green economy will bring about innovation while addressing financial stability concerns linked to extreme weather events — such as droughts, wildfire, hurricanes, and coastal flooding — caused by a warming planet, according to the report. And while climate policies may weaken near-term growth, Bank of America expects the policies will ultimately lead to “significant positive†developments.
“A sharp tightening of carbon emission policies through taxes and regulations can come with a cost to the economy,†the bank’s economists and strategists said. “But it will also likely come with greater investment in green infrastructure, which is a net positive, all else equal.â€
Well, that is weird, because climate cultists keep telling us that implementing all these climate cult measures won’t hurt the economy at all. In fact, they say it would lift it. They never said it would harm it quite a bit before supposedly lifting it up.

They said a one degree increase in the daily average temperature above 15 degrees Celsius (59 degrees Fahrenheit) reduces productivity by 1.7 percent. The current path of rising temperatures may slash global GDP by as much as 25 percent by 2100, according to Bank of America’s research, which cited work done by consultants at the Group of Thirty.
Well, that’s interesting, since prosperity tends to occur during Holocene warm periods, not so much during the cool ones. And, despite the slight rise in temperatures since 1850, the world has seen some serious gross. But, this is about fearmongering. So, give up your money and freedom and choice to government, y’all! It’s for Your Own Good.

Report: Foreign Nationals Traveling to U.S. to Get Coronavirus Vaccine Before Americans
Foreign nationals from a number of countries, but mostly Mexico, are flocking to the United States to get the vaccine for the Chinese coronavirus even as nearly 90 percent of Americans have yet to receive their first dose.
A report in the Washington Post detailed how likely thousands of foreign nationals are traveling to the U.S. to get the coronavirus vaccine, cutting in line before about 280 million Americans who have not yet been vaccinated.
The Post reports:
One of Mexico’s best-known TV hosts sat in a car, masked, looking straight ahead while a needle was plunged into his bare upper arm. Juan Jose “Pepillo†Origel was the latest Mexican national to get the coronavirus vaccine — by coming to the United States. [Emphasis added]

“I’ve known lots of Mexicans, thousands, who have gone to get the vaccine in the U.S.,†he added. “And nothing happened. In San Antonio, Laredo, all along the Mexican border, Mexicans are going to get the vaccine.â€Â [Emphasis added]
As noted by the Post, Center for Disease Control (CDC) officials have not set any guidelines on who is and is not eligible for coronavirus vaccination in terms of an individual’s immigration status. The policy, or lack of, has meant that likely thousands of illegal aliens in the U.S. have already received the vaccine.
Sounds great, right? Instead of your older mom and dad and grandparents getting it, illegal aliens and border crossers are getting it. Yes, I do think that those who are lawfully present in the U.S. at this time, those who have been here having come for work and/or school, should be eligible. Those who are just visiting? California’s vaccination website explicitly states that residency is not a requirement for receiving the vaccine. Arizona acknowledges that it is probably vaccinating some border crossers along with the snowbirds it considers eligible.
California is probably thrilled to give it to illegals. The rich folk need vaccinated workers to do their lawns and clean their homes.
Behind the debate is the polarizing issue of immigration policy, now complicated by difficult health policy decisions during a pandemic emergency. The Biden administration and public health experts say anything that discourages the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States from seeking vaccination — such as tightly enforced demands for proof of residency or legal status — would be self-defeating as the nation tries to reach herd immunity.
“It is a moral and public health imperative to ensure that all individuals residing in the United States have access to the vaccine,†the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement this month. “DHS encourages all individuals, regardless of immigration status, to receive the coronavirus vaccine once eligible under local distribution guidelines.
On this, yes, the illegals here should get the vaccine. In a proper, law abiding world they would then be deported toot sweet, but, we all know that won’t happen. As Steve Scalise points out, none of them should be jumping the line ahead of those who should be getting it first.
Some Mexican officials are openly recommending that their citizens seek vaccination in the U.S. The media are filled with what is being called “vaccine tourism.â€
“My recommendation is, go ahead, do it,†the health secretary of northern Nuevo Leon state, Manuel de la O, told a news conference in late January. “It’s an act of survival.â€
Hence, the need for strict control at the border.

India activist Disha Ravi arrested over farmers’ protest ‘toolkit’
A 22-year-old Indian climate activist has been arrested after sharing a document intended to help farmers protest against new agricultural laws.
Police said Disha Ravi was a “key conspirator” in the “formulation and dissemination” of the document.
The “toolkit”, which suggests ways of helping the farmers, was tweeted by prominent activist Greta Thunberg.
Activists say Ms Ravi’s arrest is a clear warning to those who want to show support to anti-government protests.
As the Hindustan Times notes, she’s accused of “sedition, promoting hatred among groups and criminal conspiracy under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).” Anyhow, what are these protests about?
Tens of thousands of farmers have been protesting for more than two months over the laws, which they say benefit only big corporations.
The new legislation loosens rules around the sale, pricing and storage of farm produce which have protected India’s farmers from the free market for decades.
The farmers’ protests mark the biggest challenge India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has faced. His government has offered to suspend the laws but the farmers want them replaced altogether.
So, the government wanted more free market and less government control of farming and less price fixing. The farmers are not only not good with that, they want even more government involvement in fixing prices and protections. Remember that bit
Ms Ravi, one of the founders of the Indian branch of the Fridays for Future climate strike, was arrested by Delhi police.
In a statement posted on social media on Sunday, police said she had “collaborated” to “spread disaffection against the Indian State”.
It said she was an editor of the document and had shared it with Swedish climate activist Ms Thunberg.
Police have said the toolkit suggested a conspiracy in the run up to a huge rally on 26 January, which saw protesting farmers clash with police.
“The call was to wage economic, social, cultural and regional war against India,” Delhi Police Special Commissioner Praveer Ranjan said earlier this month.
“We have registered a case for spreading disaffection against the government of India – it’s regarding sedition – and disharmony between groups on religious, social and cultural grounds, and criminal conspiracy to give shape to such a plan,” he added.
So, she was instrumental in whipping up the farmers to protest against the government for …. more government, which led to violence in a few cases. That said, should Skeptics support her, at least her ability to organize protests? Because we do support freedom of speech, even though that isn’t quite a thing in India. But, free speech support is free speech support, something the Warmists are against if that speech is considered Wrongthink.
On the flip side, should Warmists be for her arrest, since she was engaged in “anti-government” activities? They are certainly massive Big Government believers, right?
That is all the surface thoughts. The deep thoughts are that these climate cultists are involving themselves and their cult with the concerns of farmers, whipping them up, causing problems, messing up the message of the farmers, all for their cultish beliefs. The protests really had and have nothing to do with the climate change scam.
It would be just another bit of theater for Democrats to express their Feelings about Trump, letting their Trump Derangement Syndrome out, but, it would not be cathartic for them like most group sessions. And, really, consider that 45% of Democrat voters felt that George Bush either let 9/11 happen or made it happen even after the 9/11 commission investigation
Coons: ‘We Need to Spend Months and Months’ on a 9/11-Style Commission on Capitol Hill Riots
Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week†that the Democrats need to “spend months and months unearthing all the evidence that can possibly be gotten to through a 9/11-style commission†on the Capitol Hill riots.
Partial transcript as follows:
STEPHANOPOULOS: Senator Coons, you just heard Congresswoman Dean right there on the necessity of a 9/11 Commission. You agree?
COONS: I do. George, this was a remarkable week. A powerful week. And I think the House managers, obviously Congresswoman Dean and Congressman Raskin and a very talented team put on an incredibly compelling and powerful case. But there’s still more evidence that the American people need and deserve to hear and a 9/11 Commission is a way to make sure that we secure the Capitol going forward and that we lay bare the record of just how responsible and how abjectly violating of his constitutional oath President Trump really was. (snip)
COONS: Well, a number of senators promptly started talking to each other about what was the path forward with the unexpected request by the House managers for additional witnesses. And as lead manager Jamie Raskin recognized right after the trial, they could have had 500 more witnesses, it wasn’t going to change the outcome. Once Mitch McConnell made it clear he intended to acquit, even despite the compelling evidence, what the House managers needed wasn’t more witnesses or more evidence. What we all needed was more Republican courage.
So, their going to want to call witness after witness after witness in grand theater style. Lots of crying and emotion, like watching a Hallmark movie X2
COONS: I do think that we need to spend months and months unearthing all the evidence that can possibly be gotten to through a 9/11-style commission. I, frankly, at that time did not think that spending months fighting over additional witnesses would have changed the outcome of this trial one bit. And the House managers agreed. Many senators were making that point that they had as many votes on the Republican side as were possible to get. Frankly, they got more than even I expected given if you look back a year, the impeachment trial of President Trump that happened a year ago, only one Republican voted to convict.
So, yeah, this is all about TDS. Orange Man Bad. But, you know what? Let’s do the same thing with all the BLM/Antifa riots around the country since last May. Let’s expose all the government officials who failed to use law enforcement and the National Guard to safeguard average citizens and their property, along with state, local, and federal employees and property, from the rioters. The elected leaders who held the police back. Those who continuously let the arrested rioters out of jail again and again, dropping charges each time. Those who incented and supported those engaged in rioting, looting, assault, arson, and other criminal violations.
And how about those Democrats who asked people to donate to funds to bail out the rioters, many of them who attacked law enforcement officers, which just incented the violent BLM/Antifa members again and again. Elected officials like Kamala Harris.
Interestingly, Lindsay Graham wants one, too, and has questions Democrats won’t like
“I’d like to know, did the Capitol Hill police inform the House sergeant at arms and the Senate sergeant at arms the day before the attack that they needed more troops?” Graham asked during an interview on “Fox News Sunday.”
The push for a bipartisan commission seems to have Republican and Democrat support, but perhaps for different reasons.
Republicans have signaled that evidence could show that Democrat leaders were aware of the threat and did little to prevent the Jan. 6 attack. Democrats, who failed to convict Trump, see their window for holding the president accountable for the chaos quickly closing.

Polar vortex brings most extreme winter weather in years
From wind chills near 60 below zero in the Upper Midwest to an ice storm all the way to the Gulf Coast, it is rare that winter weather gets this extreme. The culprit is a polar vortex teaming up a very active jet stream.
That means cold, snow and ice for hundreds of millions of Americans.
On Saturday, more than two-thirds of the nation was under some kind of winter weather alert running the gamut from wind chill warnings in the northern Plains to winter storm warnings for the Pacific Northwest. There were also winter weather advisories in South Texas and ice storm warnings in the Mid-Atlantic.
A few weeks ago, the polar vortex, which is typically located near the North Pole, broke into pieces — a natural occurrence that happens every couple of winters. Smaller daughter vortices scattered around the Northern Hemisphere, bringing pockets of Arctic air to Siberia, Europe and North America.
For the past week, one of the daughter vortices has set up shop, spinning near the U.S.-Canada border. As a result, temperatures have been frigid, at times dropping below -40 degrees Fahrenheit, but the coldest of air has been confined to the far northern U.S. That’s about to change as lobes of the vortex rearrange its orientation, sending cold air south.
So, polar vortices are normal and natural. Except Warmists have been trying to blame them on Mankind, because they want to make sure that they can blame Mankind for their cultish beliefs. They’ve been saying they have become more extreme. Jeff takes it in a different route
Despite being extreme, it’s not nearly as extreme as it could be. Over the past few decades, due to human-caused climate change, the coldest extremes are getting less extreme. As one example, in Minneapolis the coldest day each year is now 12 degrees warmer than it used to be.
And that’s the only example offered, and the attached graphic only goes back to 1970, you know, the time the Earth was in a period where they were worried about a coming ice age. How does UHI and land use come into play? Yes, they are Man-caused, but, not global. Anyhow, these doomsday cultists just can’t help but drag their cult into everything.
