China Joe Kills Off Keystone XL Pipeline

The Keystone XL pipeline became a flashpoint about “the environment” and ‘climate change’ back during the Obama years, despite there being numerous pipelines being built around the country. Obama tried to kill it, Trump got it working, Biden has now killed it for his unhinged Warmist base

American Workers, Business Leaders on Biden Axing Keystone Pipeline: ‘Slap in Face’ to Union Members

President Joe Biden on his first day on the job axed the Keystone XL Pipeline, drawing the ire of union workers, industry stakeholders, and GOP lawmakers whose states will be negatively impacted by the decision.

Mike Sommers, president and CEO of trade group American Petroleum Institute, said Biden’s announcement “is a slap in the face to the thousands of union workers who are already a part of this safe and sustainable project.”

“This misguided move will hamper America’s economic recovery, undermine North American energy security, and strain relations with one of America’s greatest allies,” Sommers said.

Mark McManus, general president of the United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters, said in a statement:

In revoking this permit, the Biden Administration has chosen to listen to the voices of fringe activists instead of union members and the American consumer on Day 1. Let me be very clear: When built with union labor by the men and women of the United Association, pipelines like Keystone XL remain the safest and most efficient modes of energy transportation in the world.

“Sadly, the Biden administration has now put thousands of union workers out of work,” McManus said. “For the average American family, it means energy costs will go up and communities will no longer see the local investments that come with pipeline construction.”

You know who this helps? China. When Obama threatened it and killed it off Canada had plans to redirect their portion to their west coast, and ship it to China. But, they waited 2 years to see what Trump would do. Will they wait four years to see if a Republican wins in 2024, or just move on?

The Wall Street Journal editorial board also responded to Biden’s move, concluding that not only is it destructive to the U.S. economy but possibly illegal:

[TC Energy] can avail itself of Nafta’s investor-dispute settlement provision until June 2022, which would allow it to recoup its investment. The company also has a strong legal case that the U.S. Constitution gives Congress, not the President, power over foreign trade and that Mr. Biden’s reversal violates due process.

So, basically, on day one Joe Biden killed thousands of American jobs during a recovery. And has also banned fracking, along with drilling in ANWAR and ending all new leases on federal land for fossil fuels

Say hello to a higher cost of living. All you “I voted Joe because Trump tweets mean things” idiots will get what you deserve. No whining. No complaining. Own it.

Joe Biden wants to raise taxes? Huh. Oh, right, only on “the rich”. Which is what Democrats always say, and then raise the taxes on the middle class, because why would they raise taxes on the rich people who sustain the Democratic Party?

Donald J. Trump has left the White House. But many of his signature tax cuts aren’t going anywhere.

A lot of his stuff was done through the legislature, rather than jamming everything with an EO, so, it is much harder to get rid of

Democrats have spent years promising to repeal the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which Republicans passed without a single Democratic vote and was estimated to cost nearly $2 trillion over a decade. President Biden said during a presidential debate in September that he was “going to eliminate the Trump tax cuts.”

By “cost”, they mean less money that people worked hard to earn will go to the federal government.

Mr. Biden is now in the White House, and his party controls both chambers of Congress. Yet he and his aides are committing to only a partial rollback of the law, with their focus on provisions that help corporations and the very rich. It’s a position that Mr. Biden held throughout the campaign, and that he clarified in the September debate by promising to only partly repeal a corporate rate cut.

In some cases, including tax cuts that help lower- and middle-class Americans, they are looking to make Mr. Trump’s temporary tax cuts permanent.

Interesting: they finally admit that the 2017 tax cut bill lowered the taxes of lower and middle class Americans, after years of saying that it raised them.

Mr. Biden still wants to raise taxes on some businesses and wealthy individuals, and he remains intent on raising trillions of dollars in new tax revenue to offset the federal spending programs that he plans to propose, including for infrastructure, clean energy production and education. Much of the new revenue, however, could come from efforts to tax investment and labor income for people earning more than $400,000, in ways that are not related to the 2017 law.

Here’s an idea: the GOP should propose a tax increase that would hit the big tech companies, entertainment industry, major sports players, and news outlets. And for all those millionaires and billionaires saying they want their taxes raised? Increase the capital gains tax for them. Let’s see how they all like this, and see if Joe and the Democrats support it.

Biden’s Treasury Department to Focus on Climate Change

During her confirmation hearing, Janet Yellen–Biden’s nominee for Treasury Secretary–promised to employ the authority of the Treasury Department to combat climate change.

This statement reinforces the conclusion that the Biden Administration will seek to make expansive use of its regulatory and administrative authority to pursue climate change policy, which may lead to numerous regulations and enforcement activity beyond the typical environmental context.

Businesses in America should prepare–as many are already doing so–to address and adapt to climate change regulations in the financial sector.

Treasury secretary nominee Janet Yellen on Tuesday pledged to create a team to focus on climate change, in a move that’s likely to put the powerful agency at the forefront of the Biden administration’s efforts to combat what she called an “existential threat.”

In a hearing before the Senate Finance Committee, Yellen said she planned to start a new Treasury “hub” that would examine financial system risks arising from climate change and on related tax policy incentives. She also intends to appoint a “very senior-level” official to lead climate efforts.

Now, one could say that this doesn’t quite dovetail into their stated mission

The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s mission is to maintain a strong economy and create economic and job opportunities by promoting the conditions that enable economic growth and stability at home and abroad, strengthen national security by combating threats and protecting the integrity of the financial system, and manage the U.S. Government’s finances and resources effectively.

But, should Treasury be spending their time forcing compliance with their political beliefs, or simply dealing with their core functions?

The basic functions of the Department of the Treasury include:

  • Managing Federal finances;
  • Collecting taxes, duties and monies paid to and due to the U.S. and paying all bills of the U.S.;
  • Currency and coinage;
  • Managing Government accounts and the public debt;
  • Supervising national banks and thrift institutions;
  • Advising on domestic and international financial, monetary, economic, trade and tax policy;
  • Enforcing Federal finance and tax laws;
  • Investigating and prosecuting tax evaders, counterfeiters, and forgers.

This is exactly what we mean when we say things like Socialism, Marxism, Stateism, etc. Modern Socialism. For Biden voters and Trump haters, this what you agitated for. Don’t complain when your personal and business lives gets screwed up.

China Joe Mandates Masks For Travel

Biden puts forth national coronavirus strategy, requires masks for travel

As the U.S. enters “what may well be the toughest and deadliest period of the virus,” President Biden is putting forth a national COVID-19 strategy to ramp up vaccinations and testing, reopen schools and businesses, and increase the use of masks, including a requirement that they be worn for travel. (snip)

The U.S. mask order for travel being implemented by Biden will apply to airports and planes, ships, intercity buses, trains and public transportation. Travelers from abroad must furnish a negative COVID-19 test before departing for the U.S. and quarantine upon arrival. Biden has already mandated masks on federal property.

Although airlines, Amtrak and other transport providers now require masks, Biden’s order makes it a federal mandate, leaving little wiggle room for passengers tempted to argue about their rights. It marks a sharp break with the culture of President Trump’s administration, under which masks were optional, and Trump made a point of going maskless and hosting big gatherings of like-minded supporters. Science has shown that masks, properly worn, cut down on coronavirus transmission.

He might have the authority to do this for interstate and international travel, but, not for in-state and in-city travel. Where masks are already required in 31 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico. The other states will blow this off. And, what’s the point of a mask mandate when airlines, Amtrak, etc, already require this, except to say “Joe is Doing Something”? If Trump did this the media would have been all over him, as we all know. And, negative COVID tests and quarantine were already required.

Will Joe require Antifa/BLM to wear masks when they are on federal property firebombing it? Further, if masks work so well, why was there this huge spike in positive tests while most were wearing masks?

Climate Change Will Be Sudden and Cataclysmic Unless We Act Now

The speed and scale of the response to COVID-19 by governments, businesses and individuals seems to provide hope that we can react to the climate change crisis in a similarly decisive manner – but history tells us that humans do not react to slow-moving and distant threats.

Our evolution has selected the “fight or flight” instinct to deal with environmental change, so rather like the metaphor of the frog in boiling water, we tend to react too little and too late to gradual change.

Climate change is often described as global warming, with the implication of gradual changes caused by a steady increase in temperatures; from heatwaves to melting glaciers.

But we know from multidisciplinary scientific evidence – from geology, anthropology and archaeology – that climate change is not incremental. Even in pre-human times, it is episodic, when it isn’t forced by a human-induced acceleration of greenhouse gas emissions and warming.

There are parts of our planet’s carbon cycle, the ways that the earth and the biosphere store and release carbon, that could trigger suddenly in response to gradual warming. These are tipping points that once passed could fundamentally disrupt the planet and produce abrupt, non-linear change in the climate.

So, doom all of a sudden

Is it Time to Declare a Climate Emergency?

At what stage, and at what rise in global temperatures, will these tipping points be reached? No one is entirely sure. It may take centuries, millennia or it could be imminent.

So, they have no clue despite telling us that Doom was coming very soon or already here? Huh

Breaching these tipping points would be cataclysmic and potentially far more devastating than COVID-19. Some may not enjoy hearing these messages, or consider them to be in the realm of science fiction. But if it injects a sense of urgency to make us respond to climate change like we have done to the pandemic, then we must talk more about what has happened before and will happen again.

Otherwise we will continue playing Jenga with our planet. And ultimately, there will only be one loser – us.

If it’s such a concern, why are almost no Cult of Climastrology member practicing what they preach?

China Joe Wants People To Stop Shouting And Turn The Temperature Down

Forty years ago, I watched awestruck as Ronald Reagan moved into the White House amid pageantry that was 180 degrees different from Joe Biden’s subdued arrival.

California’s former governor, an upbeat dreamer, always envisioned America as a “shining city on a hill.” Biden was inaugurated in a city that depressingly resembled an armed camp — as did California’s state Capitol and statehouses around the country on Wednesday.

That’s because the departing president had recklessly whipped up supporters into a deadly mob that stormed and ransacked the U.S. Capitol, leaving the nation shaken.

So, obviously, this opinion piece by George Skelton at the LA Times is blaming Republicans and going TDS. And spends many more paragraphs whining about Trump and his supporters (how do you get #Unity when all you’re doing is blasting?), before finally getting to

Biden HaloBut Biden made the most of it, emphasizing in his speech to a relatively tiny crowd — limited by COVID-19 and security concerns — that “democracy has prevailed,” despite the Trump-incited violent mob that tried to stop Congress’ certification of electoral votes.

“Stop the shouting and lower the temperature,” the new president pleaded, repeatedly stressing the need to unite the nation.

“We must end this uncivil war that pits red against blue, rural versus urban, conservative versus liberal. We can do this if we open our souls instead of hardening our hearts. If we show a little tolerance and humility and if we’re willing to stand in the other person’s shoes, as my mom would say.”

You first, chump, you first. Your people started this with their “Flyover Country” and “Fuckistan” during the Bush years. You and Barack did little to nothing to reduce the shouting during your 8 years as Vice President. You were part of starting a hoax that Russia put Trump in office. Barack did plenty to incite this, from policies to just plain invective. What did you do the past four years of Trump to tell Democrats to turn it down? When they were calling Trump and Trump voters (over 70 million) Nazis and racists and white supremacists and so much more? What about his people who are rioting in Democratic run cities, committing arson, assault, looting, property destruction, and more? Heck, his own people are telling him nasty things and destroying a Democratic Party office in Portland.

He says he wants to turn things down, but, he won’t tell his own people to turn it down, including himself and the Credentialed Media. He’s already pushing far left legislation and executive orders. If you live by the sword you die by the sword (metaphorically, of course). It probably doesn’t help when yet another of his appointees wants to go after Republicans for Wrongthink

(Reuters) President-elect Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, said on Tuesday he would empower intelligence staff at the agency to gather information on extremist threats in “an apolitical, nonpartisan way” following a violent attack on the U.S. Congress.

“The threat of domestic extremism is one of the greatest challenges that the Department of Homeland Security confronts,” Mayorkas told the Senate Homeland Security Committee in a confirmation hearing before Biden is set to take office on Wednesday.

By non-political he means going after Republican voters. Even the threat of this turns the temperature up. What say you, Joe?

COVID Is Very Inconvenient For Solving ‘Climate Change’ Or Something

The World Economic Forum is very vexed by this whole people being sick, losing their jobs and businesses, oh, and dying from the pandemic. Ironically it came from the climate liars in China

Fighting climate crisis made harder by Covid-19 inequality, says WEF

Tackling the existential risk posed by the climate crisis will be made harder by the growing gap between rich and poor triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic, the World Economic Forum has said.

The body that organises the annual gathering of the global elite in the Swiss town of Davos said warning signs of the threat posed by infectious disease had been ignored for the past 15 years, with disastrous results.

Despite the loss of almost 2 million lives to Covid-19, the WEF’s global risks report found that environmental issues were considered to pose the biggest danger in the coming years, both in terms of impact and likelihood.

Klaus Schwab, the executive chairman of the WEF, said: “In 2020, the risk of a global pandemic became reality. As governments, businesses and societies survey the damage inflicted over the last year, strengthening strategic foresight is now more important than ever.”

Schwab added: “Growing societal fragmentation – manifested through persistent and emerging risks to human health, rising unemployment, widening digital divides, and youth disillusionment – can have severe consequences in an era of compounded economic, environmental, geopolitical and technological risks.”

The WEF report said the Covid-19 pandemic had widened longstanding health, economic and digital disparities, making it harder to secure the international cooperation needed to combat challenges such as environmental degradation.

Well, they should talk to their buddies in China. And maybe the elites should have thought about all this inequality getting in the way of ‘climate change’ responses before locking the world down, which, get this, made a lot of people resistant to giving up their freedom.

You people need to stop getting sick and dying, it is just so bothersome and inopportune for the grand high poobahs of the Cult of Climastrology.
