Harris Still Giving Mixed Signals On EV Mandate

Harris campaign dodges over EV mandate walkback

Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign won’t say whether she supports requiring automakers to build only electric or hydrogen vehicles by 2035 — a position she took during her 2020 campaign for president.

Why it matters: Since taking over President Biden’s campaign in July, Harris has been light on policy details.

Driving the news: Harris’ campaign has sent contradictory signals about her position on a mandate for automakers — a key issue in pivotal Midwestern states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, where many autoworkers are based.

Again, she has an out on this, because it is technically not a mandate on consumers or manufacturers, it’s just requirements that manufacturers comply with MPG and CO2 emission standards, which means they have to make more EVs and fewer gas and hybrid vehicles.

Trump has falsely claimed that Biden has already instituted such a mandate, but the current administration has pushed the adoption of EVs through a combination of tough regulations and financial incentives.

See? Not really a mandate. It just forces you to get one because that’s what manufacturers have to make

Flashback: As a senator from California, Harris co-sponsored the Zero-Emissions Act in 2019, which would require by 2040 that 100% of new passenger vehicle sales in the U.S. release no greenhouse gases.

During her 2020 campaign, Harris promised to go further and implement an “accelerated model” of the Zero-Emission Vehicles Act, according to her archived website.

And, “On Tuesday afternoon, Harris’ campaign ultimately declined to comment.” If only we had a tough media which would demand candidates answer questions important to Americans.

Good News: 75% Of Arrests In SCNY Are Illegals

Migrants flooding NYC’s justice system — making up ‘75% of arrests in Midtown’ — as ‘pathetic’ sanctuary city laws handcuff cops

Jefferson Maldenado, a 31-year-old migrant from Ecuador, has been arrested in New York City five times since arriving in the US earlier this year.

His latest bust was for stealing a pair of pants and a beer from the Target near Herald Square.

Asked why he committed the crime, the migrant thief said, “I wanted to change my clothes and think.

“I wanted to sit down and think about my life, about what to do. Because this is not a normal world.”

The entitlement would make him a perfect Democrat voter

Across New York, recently arrived migrants are flooding the criminal justice system — at far higher rates than public officials have acknowledged.

Police sources shared with The Post a staggering estimate that as many as 75% of the people they’ve been arresting in Midtown Manhattan in recent months for crimes like assault, robbery and domestic violence are migrants. In parts of Queens, the figure is more than 60%, sources there estimate.

On any given day, Big Apple criminal court dockets are packed with asylum seekers who have run afoul of the law.

Weren’t we told that illegals commit less crime? Also, if a migrant/asylum seeker commits a crime that means, by law, they are to be deported and barred from the U.S.A. Anyone here on a visa or going through the citizenship process can have those revoked if they commit a crime. Why are these foreign criminals allowed to be arrested again and again and nothing happens? Well, for one thing, NYC is a sanctuary city which does not report to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

(Gothamist) The city Department of Homeless Services has quietly provided 150 migrant families with up to $4,000 each to exit the city shelter system and move into permanent housing, agency officials confirmed to Gothamist.

The one-time grants are part of a pilot program dubbed Asylee Moveout Assistance. They’ve been made available to asylum-seeking families and pregnant women who live at 62 emergency Department of Homeless Services shelters and have lined up their own permanent housing, department spokesperson Neha Sharma said.

Meanwhile, nothing for actual Americans.

Then we have, first Aurora, Colorado, now Chicago. But, this is what happens when the Biden-Harris administration is letting in, and bringing in, mass numbers of illegals without vetting them

Chicago police called over armed Venezuelan migrants in apartment complex, report says

Chicago police received a call Monday night about Venezuelan migrants showing weapons in a South Side apartment building, according to a report shared via X.

A dispatcher was told that 32 Venezuelans displayed guns in the courtyard of a complex in the Washington Park neighborhood, the X account Spot News posted. They were allegedly trespassing and parked motorcycles there as the stairwells also became “filled.”

A Chicago Tribune photojournalist shared a photo of the scene later that night, saying “according to a source, no migrants were found with weapons or motorcycles.”

The Chicago Police Department did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

So, they already left before the cops showed up.

UK To “Ration” Petrol Powered Vehicles

Well, when you let the government control your life, and then allow a doomsday cult to infiltrate and control the government, you have no room to complain

Petrol cars ‘rationed to meet eco targets’

Car makers are rationing sales of petrol and hybrid vehicles in Britain to avoid hefty net zero fines, according to one of the country’s biggest dealership chains.

Robert Forrester, chief executive of Vertu Motors, said manufacturers were delaying deliveries of cars until next year amid fears they will otherwise breach quotas set for them by the Government.

This means someone ordering a car today at some dealerships will not receive it until February, he said.

At the same time, Mr Forrester warned manufacturers and dealers were grappling with a glut of more expensive electric vehicles (EVs) that are “not easily finding homes”.

Manufacturers are having to play games because of government mandates, meaning some people who need a vehicle cannot get one for a while. Unless they want an expensive EV which will be tough to recharge, considering how many in the urbanized areas live in essentially townhomes and apartments with no garages.

He said: “In some franchises there’s a restriction on supply of petrol cars and hybrid cars, which is actually where the demand is.

“It’s almost as if we can’t supply the cars that people want, but we’ve got plenty of the cars that maybe they don’t want.

“They [manufacturers] are trying to avoid the fines. So they’re constraining the ability for us to supply petrol cars in order to try and keep to the government targets.”

You know how in many vehicles they have an auto engine idle, where it sounds like the engine is turning off? Some are more odious than others, but, regardless, that is not for you, the consumer. That’s so manufacturers can report slightly better fuel economy per vehicle, which ads up to avoid, or at least limit, fines and fees from some wacko state governments. You cannot permanently turn them off. This mandate is way worse, with government forcing dealers to limit their earning power and consumers not getting what they want to purchase.

But the scheme has prompted stark warnings from bosses at major brands, such as Vauxhall owner Stellantis and Ford, which have said they cannot sacrifice profits by selling EVs at large discounts indefinitely.

Instead, they have previously warned they may be forced to restrict petrol car supplies to artificially boost their ZEV mandate performance.

Well, hey, lots of you Brits voted for the Warmists in your government. Will you finally see the light? If you do, will you be able to do anything about it? Considering the cops come and arrest people for mean tweets and preaching Christianity in public (but, not Islam), you might have a tough time.

Wild: US Files Charges Against Senior Hamas Leadership

US files criminal charges against Hamas leadership, including Sinwar

The United States announced criminal charges on Tuesday against Hamas’ top leadership, including the militant group’s chief Yahya Sinwar, accusing them of leading efforts to kill civilians and destroy the state of Israel.

“As outlined in our complaint, those defendants — armed with weapons, political support, and funding from the Government of Iran, and support from Hezbollah — have led Hamas’s efforts to destroy the State of Israel and murder civilians in support of that aim,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a statement, Reuters reported.

The statement was posted on the Department of Justice’s X/Twitter account. (snip)

In his statement, Garland confirmed that the murder of American hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin, along with every other American Hamas has killed since October 7, is being investigated as acts of terrorism.

Well, Hamas is, after all, a US State Department designated terrorist organization, and has been since 1998.

The indictment described, among other things, that “at least 43 American citizens were among those murdered – and at least 10 Americans are missing, or kidnapped.” It also details the events of the October 7 massacre, as well as the Nova part massacre, and the terrorists’ invasion of Be’eri, Nir Oz, and other communities along the Gaza envelope.

Yet, so far, the Biden-Harris administration has done nothing but talk despite Hamas killing and kidnapping American citizens. Not even threats to Hamas. But, what happens now? The Jerusalem Post analysis says this is a good thing, and puts Hamas on notice that the US will no longer tolerate the terrorist activity. Will the US send law enforcement or military groups to get these terrorists and bring them back for trial? Will the US demand that nations, which have friendly relations with the US, giving shelter to the Hamas leaders take them into custody and turn them over to the US? Will the US use air strikes or other military actions?

And, how will this play with the pro-Hamas crowd backing Harris? What if Biden decides “screw it, they booted me, I’m taking the gloves off against Hamas”? Might that harm the support from the Jew and Israel haters who vote Democrat and support Islamic extremism?

Doom Today: Climate Crisis (scam) Could Get Rid Of Kimchi

Kimchi no more? Climate change puts South Korea’s beloved cabbage dish at risk

South Korea’s famous kimchi is falling victim to climate change, with scientists, farmers and manufacturers saying the quality and quantity of the napa cabbage that is pickled to make the ubiquitous dish is suffering due to rising temperatures.

Napa cabbage thrives in cooler climates, and is usually planted in mountainous regions where temperatures during the key growing summer season once rarely rose above 25 Celsius (77 Fahrenheit).

Shockingly, temperatures fluctuate year over year, and through various warm and cool periods

Studies show that warmer weather brought about by climate change is now threatening these crops, so much so that South Korea might not be able to grow napa cabbage one day due to the intensifying heat.

“We hope these predictions don’t come to pass,” plant pathologist and virologist Lee Young-gyu said. (snip)

Data from the government statistics agency shows the area of highland cabbage farmed last year was less than half of what it was 20 years ago: 3,995 hectares compared to 8,796 hectares.

According to the Rural Development Administration, a state farming think tank, climate change scenarios project the farmed area to shrink dramatically in the next 25 years to just 44 hectares, with no cabbage grown in the highlands by 2090.

And what if things are just fine in 25 years? In 2090? Will anyone remember the prognostication of doom and decry the scaremongering? Of course not: that’s the whole point of making these crystal ball readings so far out. It’s impossible to prove or disprove them now.

“When we see the reports that there will come a time in Korea when we can no longer grow cabbage, it was shocking on the one hand and also sad at the same time,” Kim said.

“Kimchi is something we cannot not have on the table. What are we going to do if this happens?”

What happened during the previous Holocene warm and cool periods?

Islamic Terrorism Supporters Fly Terrorist Flags, Preach Death To Jews In NYC

How are we allowing these people to stay in the United States? If they are not natural born then any legal status can, by law, be revoked, and then have them be deported? Why are we allowing terrorist supporters in to the US post 9/11?

‘From the water to the water, Palestine is Arab’: Hamas flags fly at NYC anti-Israel march

Terrorist organization flags and symbols flew in New York City on Monday as dozens of anti-Israel organizations took to the streets to protest ongoing Israeli military action against Hamas and the reaction by authorities and officials to pro-Palestinian demonstrations since the October 7 Massacre.

A banner featuring the flags of Hamas’s Izz ad-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades was waved in videos published by the Bronx Anti-War Coalition, and in other videos posted by principal protest organizer Within Our Lifetime another banner placed the Hezbollah flag alongside those of Middle Eastern states.

Singular Hamas and Hezbollah flags could also be seen among the thousands of marchers, who changed slogans and wielded signs accusing the US government of aiding and abetting a supposed Israeli genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

“From the water to the water, Palestine is Arab,” protesters chanted during the march.

That sounds like a chant to destroy Israel and kill Jews.

Some protesters wore Hamas headbands, and one man waved a banner emblazoned with the images of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and PFLP General Secretary Ahmad Saadat. The banner’s logo belonged to the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, a PFLP-tied NGO.

Deport these people. The 1st Amendment does not apply when people are calling for the death of Jews. And, remember, the vast majority of these Islamic terrorism supporters vote Democrat

“Calling for a ceasefire is not enough. Calling for an arms embargo is not enough,” WOL leader Nerdeen Kiswani said in a speech while flanked by terrorist flags. The people standing with Palestine right now are resisting alongside us, from Yemen to Lebanon and beyond. If you stand with Palestinians, you stand with Palestinian resistance.”

Kiswani is a seriously unhinged Jew hater and Islamic terrorism supporter, and has been for a while. She was even named “Anti-Semite Of The Year” in 2020. This is who is being listened to.

Climate Change Can Cause Bridges to ‘Fall Apart Like Tinkertoys,’ Experts Say

On a 95-degree day this summer, New York City’s Third Avenue Bridge, connecting the Bronx and Manhattan, got stuck in the open position for hours. As heat and flooding scorched and scoured the Midwest, a steel railroad bridge connecting Iowa with South Dakota collapsed under surging waters. In Lewiston, Maine, a bridge closed after the pavement buckled from fluctuating temperatures.

America’s bridges, a quarter of which were built before 1960, were already in need of repair. But now, extreme heat and increased flooding linked to climate change are accelerating the disintegration of the nation’s bridges, engineers say, essentially causing them to age prematurely.

The result is a quiet but growing threat to the safe movement of people and goods around the country, and another example of how climate change is reshaping daily life in ways Americans may not realize.

“We have a bridge crisis that is specifically tied to extreme weather events,” said Paul Chinowsky, a professor of civil engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder who researches the effects of climate change on infrastructure. “These are not things that would happen under normal climate circumstances. These are not things that we’ve ever seen at this rate.”

A 1.6F increase in the global temperature is not going to doom all the bridges. This is a doomsday cult, though, so, there’s always something they can cray doom about.

Kamala Avoids Even Hearing Questions From Reporters With Earbuds

And, with the state of the Credentialed Media, will any actually push back on this?

(UK Daily Mail) Kamala Harris continues to avoid facing the media alone, drawing derision for wearing earbuds as the throngs of reporters tried to question her as she got on a plane Monday.

Harris – who took more than a month to give an interview with a major media outlet after announcing her run for president – was leaving Joint Base Andrews in Maryland to campaign across the midwest Monday and was filmed boarding her flight.

The vice president, with apple earbuds connected via a USB cable to her phone, salutes and shakes hands with a soldier as she board the plane.

People can be overheard trying to get Harris’ attention, but she simply waved dismissively and got on the flight, adjusting her earbuds to make sure they were fully in her ears as she did so.

Seriously, this is the person running for the most powerful position on Earth?

Americans/Jews/Israelis were just slaughtered by Hamas, and she not only can’t answer questions, but, wears headphones to avoid hearing questions? And, seriously, how old is her phone that she can use wired headphones? And, come on, it’s 2024, wired headphones?

The Harris campaign now looks ahead to the presidential debate on ABC on September 10.

Trump will provide a hostile environment which she has so far managed to avoid.

Jennings last night said: ‘She’s trying to skip a block of time, and at the debate, Trump [will] not allow it.’

If she thinks the media will be friendly and try and stop her from answering question, Trump will be right there. And, America will be watching her avoid answering.
